I thought the loudest library in history wouldn't exist but it does. I come here to study and do some tasks for work only to find a plethora of noise. Librarians talking loud, an obnoxious security guard, and a librarian banging CDs and books around while she filed returns. I asked politely for them to keep the noise down, and oh the irony to do so. However, my polite request was taken but reversed in revenge. The librarians got louder and laughed here and there and when they started talking to a kid got louder! In the back of my mind I was thinking, 'shouldn't they be setting an example to the kid that in libraries you talk low'; as to all of us civilized public know is just common courtesy. These women that worked there are well aged enough to remember the old days when librarians would referee silence. I was dismayed at the behavior and ignorance they displayed. I understand this is a small library, but post silence signs, keep the noise down! It's a library for peeps sake. I ended up leaving right after I told the only quiet librarian man there "this is the loudest library in history". I miss the central library; at least there you could find silence. I hope they read this only to correct what is chaos and rudeness.

Very minimal, if any, quiet space to study and write. Kids making noise is one thing - kids will be kids (and the few moms here are making efforts to shh them). But the staff are the ones making all of the noise! The librarian is talking very loudly right now, trying to get a patron who already has a library card to sign up for another one. The gentleman making inter-library deliveries (that's what he initially appeared to be doing) is currently dropping about 1,000 coins into a coin machine one at a time (I'm sure there's a better way or place to do this). I thought libraries were supposed to be quiet places. The employees are usually the ones enforcing this, but in this event are the one creating all of the noise. Of note, the patrons are being extremely quiet. Barely a noise from anyone else in the library except the librarians. The biggest noise from patrons is the confusion over who paid for what on the printer/copier. It appears that people are paying on the computers while others are paying in cash, and there's no way to regulate 1 at a time, so there's some kind of crossover and people's jobs aren't printing. The men's urinal is broken, and the study tables, if you can call them that, are dirty.

This library would be the right size for a small town of 2,000, not in the middle of a city of 2 million. There is zero natural light in this tiny, windowless library and this library feels like the NYC subway. With the population density in the area, given all the new apartment buildings nearby, a larger, more up to date building is needed in this area.

I love being walking distance from my little public library branch. It's never been loud, though I haven't spent extended periods of time there. It is quite small and therefore has limited book offerings, but the hold service is great, so members can reserve books from any branch online and pick them up here (or utilize their ebook rental service).

This place is a Zoo, if you are looking for a quiet place "A Library" this is not it. Staff is part of the problem, they walk around and instruct and talk very loud. The children...and also get kids will be kids, run amok. I have also witnessed parents dropping off kids as this is some kind of day care and left unsupervised. HORRIBLY MANAGED

Im a nanny who takes a one year old baby to the public libraries every day of the week. I'm also a grandma who goes to the library with her 4 year old granddaughter. I like Century Library, but it needs interactive content for little kids, but the place is nice and clean, and also, the people there are very nice. Thank you for being there!

Very nice staff! Helpful and can help with anything with fax, copy, etc. Phoenix library system is free and GREAT! This also includes 25 pages of free printing, faxing, and to scan as many documents as you need per day. They also offer free passes for library members to explore local museums and such.

It's a nice quiet place but I couldn't focus on my work lady behind me kept walking the same shelf back and forth 3 times when I was doing my work on my laptop probably was waiting for me to leave my things unattended to steal my stuff either way it was very distracting I got nothing done

Great small library with easy access and friendly staff. If I can't find the electronic version available for download, I will reserve and have sent to this location. It is a little hard to get into since there is no direct turn in from eastbound Highland but u turn works.

I seen improvements to the library since I first came here the staff is very friendly although I might be a little too loud but when you need help they're there for you I would recommend this library for kids during summer as well for adults

Great local library. It can get loud, but that's because public libraries have shifted focus and are more like community centers. This is the smallest branch in the Phoenix system, but they can always help place holds and get your materials.

Came here to study and the place would have been nice and quiet if it weren't for the damned librarians. They were shouting and loud and made this a terrible place to go if you're looking for someplace quiet.

We (my 3 yr old son, my mother and I) love doing the Saturday morning yoga story time. Perfect way to spend the morning- read, yoga, color and then discover more books. Wish I kbew about this earlier!

  • Barry Hand

Comfortable branch library equipped with computers, newspapers, magazines, and CDs in addition to books. I was very pleased that they issued me a library card as an out of state visitor.

  • Libu Varughese

Gosh, these librarians are so loud. They should be leading an example of silence in library. Ironically I can't read because of all the non wisper voice noise they are using/making!

This library is cute as a button, a tiny little hideaway. A peaceful place dedicated to quiet contemplation. Century has computers with internet access, wifi and of course books.

  • Hilgalad

The library was already closed when I arrived so I had to use their WiFi. The connection is of very good quality but they do not have benches to sit on the sides.

  • Doris Dalrymple

Great staff. Friendly and helpful. They all have a great sense of humor. The guards are super friendly as well. Thank you Phoenix Public Library - Century Branch.

  • Laura Correia

Nice librarians, easy location to access off Hwy 51. It’s small, but clean and safe. I also love that they started carrying Naloxone reversal kits for free.

  • Michael Snyder (Emphatik)

Staff was friendly and helpful, very quiet. Nice little local branch of the phoenix library. Thanks to the librarians for helping me with the printer.

Small but efficient. Nice staff. Clean. And you can order online and pick up here. Very convenient.

Above average wifi connection for a library, clean restrooms, organized library, it was great!

  • Peter Tolk

Too many people think it's a Civic center not a library. Constantly talking. Very irritating
