My Recent Experience at Chatkazz, Harris Park: A Disappointing Dining Encounter I feel compelled to share my extremely unpleasant experience at Chatkazz, an Indian restaurant located in Harris Park. The visit was marred by a series of disappointments, starting from the moment we arrived. We were forced to wait outside in the freezing cold for a staggering 30-40 minutes due to a lengthy waiting queue. This lack of consideration for customers' comfort was the first sign of what was to come. Upon finally gaining entry, the service proved to be nothing short of abysmal. We ordered noodles, only to find that they were inexplicably sour. The paneer tikka masala curry we received was an absolute letdown, as it was overwhelmed by an excessive cardamom taste. To make matters worse, the tandoori roti we were served lacked any trace of butter and was astonishingly dry. Our attempts to seek assistance from the staff were met with disappointment, as there was a noticeable absence of attentive personnel. In a last-ditch effort to salvage our meal, one staff member eventually offered to replace the paneer tikka masala with dal makhani. However, this only added to our frustration and exasperation. The dal makhani took an astonishingly long 30 minutes to prepare, further highlighting the disorganization and lack of efficiency in the kitchen. Finally, when we received our dal makhani, the presentation was shockingly subpar, as can be seen in the attached photo. It is truly a testament to the disregard for quality and customer satisfaction that this establishment embodies. This entire experience left us utterly fed up with the restaurant's service and chaotic atmosphere. In light of these disappointments, we opted for a takeaway, wanting nothing more than to put this ordeal behind us. I implore the management of Chatkazz to reflect on their shortcomings and take immediate steps to address the numerous issues plaguing their establishment. Attached is the photo that illustrates the dismal state of the dal makhani we received, providing a visual testament to the disappointing experience we endured. [Attach Photo] But I want to appreciate one of the team member help, name Komal. She servers us as best as she can and 5++++ star to her customer service. Regrettably

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chatkaaz, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish! This gem of an Indian restaurant has truly captured the essence of authentic flavors and warm hospitality. The menu offered an extensive range of delectable dishes, and we couldn't resist trying some classic favorites. The Chole Bhature was an absolute delight! The fluffy bhature paired perfectly with the rich and flavorful chole, creating a harmonious blend of spices that left us craving for more. It was a true feast for the taste buds! The Idli Sambar was another highlight of our meal. The idlis were soft, spongy, and packed with the right amount of tanginess. The accompanying sambar was fragrant and had just the right balance of flavors. It was a comforting dish that brought back memories of enjoying South Indian cuisine. We also had the pleasure of savoring the Prantha Chai, and it was simply divine! The flaky, perfectly cooked parathas were served alongside a steaming cup of aromatic chai. The combination was heavenly and made for a satisfying treat. It was the ideal snack to accompany our conversations and added a delightful touch to the overall experience. The ambiance of Chatkaaz was welcoming and vibrant, reflecting the warmth and hospitality of Indian culture. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure our dining experience was memorable. The service was prompt, and they went above and beyond to cater to our needs. I highly recommend Chatkaaz to all food enthusiasts and fans of Indian cuisine. The quality of the food, the authentic flavors, and the exceptional service make this restaurant stand out. Whether you're craving traditional North Indian dishes like Chole Bhature or longing for a taste of South India with Idli Sambar, Chatkaaz is the place to go! Overall, my visit to Chatkaaz was an unforgettable culinary journey. The combination of mouthwatering dishes, warm hospitality, and vibrant ambiance made for an exceptional dining experience. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit and exploring more of their enticing menu.

Amazing place and amazing food. I could say it was a good welcome for us in Sydney. We never got such food in Perth and missed Indian street food. But, after eating here we can say we don’t miss Indian street food anymore. Everything was just amazing. I also loved the concept of ordering by app so you don’t have to call someone over and over again for ordering. I would suggest to pay through app too as it’s always a hassle to wait in line for a long time. The quantity for Indo-Chinese could be a bit more to be frank as if you see paneer chilli, it’s a very small portion (though tastes amazing). The only reason for 4 stars is because of the service when it’s too busy. I do understand that it isn’t easy to handle all customers when the place is too busy. But, for simply asking for a take away box, I had to ask the staff 5 times. In the end I went to the counter and asked the cashier who gave it to me. Just some suggestions to make it better. Overall it’s a place to be if you miss Indian street food and want to have the feel of being in India. Just amazing!

Went with a group from work for a birthday lunch. The food was lovely but the service from wait staff was disappointing. Ordering from the QR code was frustrating, as we organised everyone's order on one phone as requested but when we submitted the order it was wiped entirely as several items (including naan) were unavailable at the time. We started the order again, but checked first with staff to see if the first order had gone through without the unavailable items. They weren't helpful at all and seemed annoyed that we asked. Requests for additional cutlery and napkins were ignored, and one of our orders was forgotten for over an hour despite us reminding staff about it three times. It was eventually ready when we went to pay for our bill, and the staff offered it to us takeaway without cost which was nice. Unsure if I would go back because the service was so average, but the food was extremely good.

The Butter Idli Sambhar, Pani Puri (Gol Gappa) and Puri Bhaji & Yoghurt were delicious. That’s it! Customer service was way below one star if I could rate it. Thank goodness the quality of the food saved the rating from going that low! The QR code service is glitchy. I usually don’t mind ordering via QR code, but never have I experienced such a hassle. I expected eat in, waited half an hour, then followed up to get told that the system allocated take away. Staff came and plopped the bag at the table, expecting the “take away food” (image below) to be eaten at the restaurant. It was messy, it was a horrendous experience, and never have I felt so enraged and upset. I wouldn’t expect Indian street food to ever be treated in such an atrocious and unloving manner. Delivery and takeaway is not recommended, as I ate 1/2 of the food in the restaurant 15 mins after it was cooked, and definitely wouldn’t recommend.

The food tasted good! We had butter naan, garlic naan, dal tadka and malai kofta. The resturant was was so full, we need to stay in a que for about 15-20 minutes and placed our order from outside itself so that once our table is ready, it saves time. Inside the restaurant, you can hear all Bollywood songs to give an Indian vibe. The food was hot even after it was being kept at our table for the past 30 minutes, but one can feel the warmth of dishes while eating which was incredible. They do served us tap water, which was great. To my surprise, garlic naan was not that good, only few pieces of garlic. If you are claiming Indian cuisine, kindly come back to India and learn, it gives a false impression. Tip to the owners: Kindly give complimentary onions, green chutney and pickle. It comes under basic courtesy if you are serving Indian food ✌️

During my Sydney trip, I stopped by this place for lunch. The service was both prompt and friendly, creating a positive impression from the start. Exploring various dishes, I found a mix of hits and misses. The Jini dosa was a standout - uniquely different and undoubtedly delicious. On the flip side, the Misal and masala pav didn't fare as well. The Misal proved to be overwhelmingly spicy, while the masala pav ended up disappointingly soggy. For curry, we tried the khoya kaju, which had a pleasant taste but leaned towards the sweeter side. Moving on to the appetizers, both the dahi puri and chili paneer Frankie were delightful, hitting the right notes in terms of taste and texture. As a silver lining, the prices were reasonable, providing value for the offerings. All in all, while there were some misses among the hits, the quick and friendly service, along with standout dishes, made the lunch experience in Sydney memorable.

First time to Chatkazz Harris Park. Good Experience but could have been better is our view. Place bit congested and had to wait bit long. Acceptable and can relate, if we were to get allotted to a good place, but finally got a place allotted outside (next to shops) where people were smoking and smelling pathetic. We were with kids could not sit there for more than few minutes. Glad they staff understood our challenges and moved us to a place inside, when we requested. Food overall good, sizzlers was a disappointment. Normally it would be served hot with the steam coming off and noisy, but bit surprised it was not served that way and was like normal food!. Service levels were good atmosphere could have been better. Overall good and would visit again, may be on a week day!

With a great reputation, Chatkazz obviously needs no introduction. Awesome food and great flavours. Everything is generally very fresh as well, which is given how busy it is all the time. All around a good trip to this place every time. My only issue has probably been chaos around the ordering process. Often times things are missing from the order or other new things that you havent ordered start appearing. The poor wait staff then become confused. Big area for improvement... Another is probably the masala chai. Oh God. That is the worst tasting chai I think I have ever had anywhere in the world. It's like a glass of masala (mainly just cloves) water with a bit of chai added in... Where in India does this type of chai come from?? If a chai wala sold this in India, they'd definitely be disqualified from any future political career as a special exemption just for the crime of serving this.

  • Aliasghar Balapurwala

Chatkazz- awful experience! Starting with Chole Bhatura- bhatura was so oily, only taste of maida. Had to Pat tissue to remove oil from bhatura. Chole was good. Khaman dhokla was good. They majorly messed up the order- the person taking the order mistakenly added black forest pastry for a breakfast order at 10am-seriously? Jalebi fafda order took 40mins to be served- as they messed up the order again! Order for coffee-took more than 20mins to serve one filter coffee-had to ask 3 wait staff multiple times to get the coffee but in vain. Super expensive- way overpriced for the oily food and awful customer service. Rekha (or something similar) staff was very helpful in arranging fafda jalebi after the person who messed up the order.

While they do serve some of the traditional Indian dishes (i.e. curries, rotis, etc) they really excel at chaats (Indian snack street food). They do get super busy on weekends (especially for dinner) so get in there early. We happened to be in the area in the morning and found they open for brekkie on Sunday which was an unexpected surprise. They had some really unique and great tasting dishes that came out pretty quickly (but they can be slow when it gets busy). Most (if not all) their items are cooked from scratch in store which makes it even better. Customer service is also pretty good.

Having visited a few of the chatkazz locations we came here to experience the great food. We ordered Pani puri, dosa, masala dosa etc. very tasty and we got the food very quickly. Have to specially mention the masala tea and coffee, pav bhaji, one of the best we have had. Great service and fast. Definitely enjoyed the food. We will be back again.

Everything is vegetarian and there are plenty of vegan options too, you can choose vegan or NOG (no onions/garlic) on the ordering app, there are photos on each menu to help people understand what the meal is, it is helpful for people like me (not familiar with Indian food but want to try it). I had Puri Sabji & Shrikhand and Masala Tea today and I really enjoyed them! Recommended to everyone, I will come back again! It would be nice if the tables and floors could be cleaned more.

Frustrating service, good food. The food is always great, but everytime I try to get takeout from here the service is really, really frustrating. The staff keep referring you to each other and no one can give you a clear answer. I waited 30 minutes for a simple noodles and frankie order (most of which is pre-prepared - I could see it behind the counter), on a random Tuesday morning. When I expressed my dissatisfaction I was met with an oblivious glare from the lady behind the counter. Honestly, not worth the time for takeout unless you order 45mins in advance

One of the best place near Sydney to have Indian vegetarian food. Stuff's behaviour is good. There may be some waiting time based on the crowd at the time of visit. We had butter nan, garlic nan and paneer tikka masala which was very good. In Kids meal pasta's taste is good but could have been better. The atmosphere is kind of fine. Liked the way they tried to minimise the waiting time by pre-ordering food while you wait. Parking is limited. You can also order food online through food delivery apps.

Ok, so we have been here at least 5 times now, and the only thing we have liked consistently is the vada pav. That never disappoints. Other things have been just a hit and miss for us. But this is as close as it can get to experience Indian street food in Australia. Food service is extremely fast, that everything comes all at once and sadly food gets cold soon. I hope they try serving dishes one after another unless explicitly asked to bring everything together.

It was a wow experience! They take your order when you line up outside (I think it'll be a given you'll be waiting in line since it seems to be quite busy!) If you've never been, once you get there, there will be a person in charge of writing down your name for the waiting list. We didn't know so we waited blindly haha only had to wait 30 mins though! And that's actually not so bad cuz they serve your food like as soon as you sit down we got recommended what dishes to try and my golly gol soooo yummy I love the brown sauce I dont know what it's called but please.. give me more!! Will be back to try all the other dishes xD

Tried a few TikTok famous food here, can’t really remember the name…. But the first one in the photo(burger shape one) was the best among them. Cheese sandwiches didn’t really have much flavor with them. As for pani better just order the one that’s on the street where there’s a long line of queue, they got nine different flavor there compare to three here. Overall, a great authentic Indian vegetarian restaurant judging by the customer demographic here, it’s a brand new experience for someone that are not familiar with Indian food ;)

Ordered pickup on their web and the staff only gave me one bag (instead of two) which resulted in me missing an item from my order. I contacted store on 4 different occasions since then since the promised refund didn't hit the account. I have now given up and commenced chargeback. Message to store owner: please do not try to rip off your customers - be honest in your dealings instead of hoping that if you ignore then long enough, they will go away. Own up to your mistakes.

Best indian restaurant in sydney. Good quality and quantity. Food is little spicy but it's delicious. Ambiance is ok. Service is very good and fast. You don't need to wait too long for food to be served, which is the best thing. It will be crowded on weekends. They won't take bookings on call, you need to visit the restaurant and wait in the queue outside. While waiting they will provide menu card and you can decide the menu in advance. I recommend to visit this restaurant if you want to have best indian food in Australia. Variety of dishes at one place ❤

The place never disappoints, specially the street food such as Vadapav, Dabeli and Masala Soda. If you’re looking for some real good Indian snacks and street food this is the place for you. Not only the food the atmosphere at the restaurant also reminds one of Indian pragmatism not fuss, no pose theme, not need to reserve a table just have a great time with friends and family, enjoy the palate pleasing food and drinks. One come here to enjoy the food and not to brag about in some board meetings.

This place was truly amazing to someone who’s unfamilar with Indian cuisine! Price is very fair on point and customer service was really nice! I tried a food that’s a popular Mumbai street food and omg the flavours were amazing, buttery smooth, spicy and many more. Suprisingly all food were made of vegetables! Will visit again for sure! My favourite were Vege Manchurian, pav bhaji and biriyani!! So good won’t regret!

2 friends and I experienced a rather marvelous time as we laughed and dined at Chatkazz. The menu was rather big, which we had no complaints about. We had few dabelis, pani puri, a type of chaat, and varieties of masala Dosa. The Mango Lassi was exquisite, thicc and rich. The staff were great, friendly and smiling. The setting of the place had a warm and accommodating atmosphere. The food was delicious, there was also a vegan menu. First time here.....not gunna be my last #slattt

We came from Queensland to Sydney and Chatkaaz was one of the recommended places by my friends; however, we really didn’t enjoy it. Dahi used was either old or expired and tasted too sour with a weird smell. Dosa & Chowmein was average. On contrary, Diksha one of the staff members, was really helpful and quick with the service. Really appreciate her. I would not recommend this place!!

I was expecting something impressive based on what I had heard but the quality and taste was just ok. The volume was also too small for the price. But it might be just the first impression and I will give it another try in the next opportunity.

Delicious authentic Indian food. Servers probably need a bit more training since we had to get water, and extra utensils ourselves, and none of the dirty, finished plates and cups were taken away despite the table running out of space. But the food is amazing, and will continue to return.

  • Sylvia Tiet

All dishes are vegetarian, flavours are amazing and to be eaten as share plates with the group. I enjoyed everything I ordered. Will come back to try more from their extensive menu. Best to come before 6pm to avoid waiting in line as it is a highly popular family friendly dining area.

A very exhilarating experience. Took me to my past, a very nostalgic past of eating street food!! Very helpful and happy staff. Pradip and Diksha served us. We were very happy with their extreme professionalism. Thank you team…we are going to be back soon!!!

Loved all the food. Definitely coming back, favorite was the papdi chaat. They were also very efficient with managing the queue - you preorder while you wait and by the time you get your table the food arrives instantly - one dish was already on the table …

The manager does and amazing job and runs a great business. Super busy but service was so fast. Sitting next to kitchen could see all the food and drinks go out and it all looked so good. Loved the mango lassi! Highly recommend

The food was good and mango lassi was too good. We went by 6.30 and got table in 10 minutes. It becomes more crowded after 8. The staffs were friendly and tables fully booked. Must try place for some good food.

Food was good, the cashier at front Amit is so unprofessional. First he was shaking his head when he had to repeat something twice. Later my friend wanted some Jalabi to purchase, he goes “this is not food market to buy from self”. Super rude. More

Amazing experience trying indian street food and loved that everything was vegetarian. Service is lacking but with constant full house I can understand at least we got our food. I would still want to come back and try other items on the menu.

This used to be the only place I like misel pav. But lately since Modi came to this rather than bringing the quality up. They focused more on marketing than food.

Halal food. However; we came here to dine after a long time. The management has definitely changed and so the taste and flavours have become dull. Their chole bhatura is really good and that’s about it. but I won’t come here again.

I’m a meat person but this place makes amazing Indian snacks. Absolutely delicious and well balanced. Not the typical spicy Indian food. Very quick service though parking is a pain!
