Booked an appointment online where it gave a price point range for what my hair cut was going to cost. Not only did they over book and put 4 other people during the same time slot- requiring me to change my appt time after already making arrangements for my appt. Then, because they over booked, I had to choose another location which ended up being the square one location. On arrival, the hairstylist said my hair was considered long so it was going to cost me 75$ (I have very thin hair, and although it was past shoulder length, it was given the same price as someone with hair 10x longer and thicker than mine (hilarious reasoning) (which was not even the highest range cost for the price range of the cut) no where did it say that the cost was going to be decided on the spot or I would have booked elsewhere. After my cut was done, they told me my total was 90$!!!!!!! For a damn hair cut? A regular w.e haircut..never again. They also charged an additional 2$ environmental fee? Um? I asked for them to explain the pricing as that is false advertising and she would still not honor the price online and made up contradicting excuses for why my hair cut was going to be so high. (You're stylist is a senior stylist (until I pointed out my hair dresser THEY assigned to me when I just chose a basic hair cut, no specific person in mention) then another excuse that that stylists prices begin at $75 but then when asking about the other stylist, I got other nonsense excuses too. Honestly, Never ever ever again. This was defiantly NOT worth 90$ nor did it look like it was worth that much. What a waste of money and time. I would not recommend this place. You can easily go to a higher end salon and feel better about your cut and your wallet by the end of it. Goodness.... such an irritating experience.

I called this salon in advanced to ask if they are able to do a silk press on kinky black hair, and they said they could. I asked and explained to the receptionist what I meant, and that my hair is a kinky texture, and that I have 4C hair. She assured me they would be able to do a silk press, and she even put me on hold to go ask the stylist if he could do it, and he said yes as well. When I got there, only after I had sat in the chair and taken out the style I had when I came in, and was about to wash my hair, the stylist told me he could not do a silk press on my hair. He apologized and said he knows that’s what I came in for, but that he doesn’t have experience working with my hair texture. I didn’t have a lot of options at this point since I’d taken out my style, and I figured he could surely blow dry and flat iron my hair. Even this was challenging for the stylist, he didn’t section my hair (which I assumed till then you would do when blow drying any type of hair, no matter the texture), and I basically had to show him what to do and tell him which brush to use. It was like he was afraid of my hair the whole time. He did an okay job flat ironing it, but it was nothing close to a silk press. He was very sorry afterwards and could tell I was upset, and recommended a stylist at Chatters Heartland that can do silk presses, but there’s no way I’ll be visiting another branch of the salon. Maybe it’s my fault for assuming a regular salon could do black hair properly, I thought times had changed but I guess not. If you have black hair or 3B or so and above, stay clear of this salon, they will not be able to take care of your hair properly.

They were kind here, & I’m happy with the look of my cut and colour but I actually ended up with a chemical burn on my scalp (about a 1-2 inch section) after being here. I’m glad I spoke up when I did, about needing to be rinsed off while my roots were being lightened but they did tell me multiple times that it’s an uncomfortable process and that it’s going to feel “tingly”. I’ve been colouring my hair for decades and have had my roots lightened before, but I felt as though they were not paying adequate attention. I only saw the chemical burn on my scalp after getting home, and I even mentioned that it was burning as they blow dried that spot of my head but they didn’t look any further or check for damage after I mentioned it hurt worse than when I got my neck tattooed. I’m rather disappointed as it was an expensive hair colouring process and I would hope that if a client says their head is burning that as a hair stylist or colourist, they would take that seriously right away and check for any damage. I felt a little dismissed during the process and just wanted to let others know to pay close attention to what is happening and how your body is feeling. Update: the burn scabbed over overnight, so it’s easier for me to see now. It’s more like 4 inches wide. It’s hard to see in the photos because the hair has scabbed over but you can see the blood. Really unhappy with this. I do not recommend them just from a safety standpoint. Wish I could give less than 1 star.

Never have I experienced such an unprofessional and inconsiderate hair salon in my life, stay away from this place! I had booked an apt. at this location a week in advance. Half an hour before my apt. they called me, leaving a voicemail to tell me they had overbooked with their stylist! I immediately called them back as the apt. was only half an hour away and I had already booked a babysitter to take care of my children.The receptionists solution was to re-book my apt. for three days later as they had overbooked and only had realized their mistake half an hour before the appointment! I had asked why I had to push back my apt. and not the other person as I had already booked my babysitter, her answer was that the other person was doing more to her hair such as a haircut and a full color dye; and I on the other hand was only getting a hair trim. I was completely amazed by her answer. I cannot believe that a hair salon would remove people from there apt. based on how much money they're going to spend and then only notify them 30min before. This hair salon is inconsiderate, unprofessional and lacks integrity. Do not trust that your apt. will secure you a spot with them if your not going to spend a considerate amount of money; as that is all they seek from their customers.

I'm new to the GTA and needed a haircut for some interviews and based on the convenient location, reviews, and prices listed on the website I decided to get a long overdue hair trim and some curtain bangs. I liked the staff including my stylist, Adam. Everyone is friendly which can be hard to find at decent salons! During my appointment I didn't feel tense or uncomfortable. Some places/people really grab and pull hard on the hair but my experience was much more relaxing and caring. After my haircut, Adam was kind enough to answer some of my inquires and pick out the right products for my hair type while keeping my personal preferences and budget in mind and I think he did a great job! I really like that you can book your appointment online with the price and timeline estimates, it made the process stress-free and easy! My only con is that the prices on the website were different from what I ended up paying, which is a downer because I was specifically looking for places around the $50.00-$65.00 range. Based on the website an "Adult -- Long Advanced" costs $58.00-$62.00 but I ended up paying around $75.00 before tip, taxes and fees. My suggestion would be for the prices to match what's on the website or have the website prices updated.

I did not have a good experience. The hairstylist (S) was courteous but the end result was not great. I asked for lots of volume since I have thin, fine hair which I haven't gotten trimmed for a few months, and asked for a thick side bang. After the initial hair dry, I asked her to trim the layers more since they were not framing my face and were dragging my face down. She was very reluctant but did it, same with my bang. I was trying to make her cut more but she was opposed to the idea, so I let it be. The true test for a haircut is always when you wash it after the cut and try to style it yourself. I had also asked for a cut which will be good for slightly wavy hair (and yes, previous hairdressers have done this for me, so it is not unusual. a haircut needs to take into account the kind of hair the customer has). When I washed and styled, the bangs were thin and long (they got tucked in behind my ear, they were that long. not what i wanted). The layers are start low (after my chin) so do not frame my face at all. Overall, not happy with the cut :( I had done lots of research and after a friend's recommendation about David, had wanted a cut with him. However, won't be returning to this branch...

Before and the after photos of my appointment yesterday July 5 2023, with Chatters, all of the staff members were so welcoming and so friendly! I explained to them my situation and how I wanted to change and I wanted to go back to a healthier and more natural looking look, they IMPRESSED AND AMAZED ME with my natural looking colour I have been dying my hair at home for 5 years and have never had my natural colour and boy do I look and feel absolutely BETTER THEN EVER BEFORE!!! My stylist name was Rebekah Amos and she was one of the best people there she is so helpful and kind and friendly and she gave me such helpful advice on how to take care of my hair better to have it grow in better and start my hair growth journey again but only this time with my new healthy and natural hair thank you so much Chatters you guys truly made my year. I will definitely be back and be telling everyone to come here!! <3 so much love and respect for everyone thank you and I wi be back again! :)

Hey. I got my balyage done yesterday, with maria. Maria was sweet and helpful however when I came home I realized my balyage looked more like a grey color rather than blonde. However I called chatters and spoke with brittany who was extremely rude and disrespectful. I payed $360 for my hair and was not happy with my treatement and this is how I get treated? She failed to understand where I was coming from and said "well if you want to damage your hair more then its your choice" kept saying I was overthinking the whole situation and sarcastically said bye and hung up on me. I am so hurt with this behavior and will never ever go to chatters again. Brittany should be taught on how to deal with customers since they are putting their hard earned money to make their hair look pretty and for them to feel confident. I have alwas been a loyal chatters customer but after this I will never go there.

This was about a month ago. The stylist was very friendly and my daughter was happy with the style. However, during the hair cut I saw a brush on the table that was full of hair and even the floor had a lot of hair though there was a sign on the table saying the place had been sanitized and cleaned regularly. I would have overlooked all that, but was horrified when the stylist used that same brush with hair from god knows how many other previous customers, on my daughters head! And i'm not talking about a few strands. That brush has never been cleaned. It was so glaringly obvious, it made me cringe. Layers and layers of hair wrapped around that brush such that the bristles were barely visible. With a cost of 70 dollars for the haircut, you would expect a minimum level of cleanliness! I won't be going there again for sure!

I have been going to the Chatters Square one salon for the past one year and it has always been a pleasant experience until today. The stylist literally pulled my hair while cutting and styling and when she saw me making uncomfortable faces she commented I have build up on my scalp and it has made my scalp sensitive. However she was done with my wash, cut and styling in approx 15-20 mins. I felt the heat on dryer was too much but I don't like to comment while professionals are working because I feel they know what they are doing, even if I don't like it much at that time. Anyway, now I am home and my scalp is hurting to touch and my hair feels so dry and frizzy. I went for the cut to feel good about me but now I am regretting my decision. Time to find a new salon I guess.

The place is not that respectful of customer’s time. They said I was scheduled for a 2pm. I was early 1:45 so I just sat down in the waiting area. Around 2, I went up to the front. They said they’ll the stylist know and I would be next. Then after over 20min of waiting, I’m still waiting so I go up to the front. Then there was confusion with another appointment. Then it was clarified that they are running short on staff so appointments were switched and they are adjusting. I wish they told me beforehand that around 2 so I could have done other errands at the mall. But it was very dismissive. They was one junior person who was actually sorry for the confusion. I think there was plenty of opportunity to explain this beforehand so I would not recommend.

I went to Chatters on a last minute basis to get a wash and blowout because I just didn't have enough time to get home and do my hair and makeup before my scheduled dinner. I wasn't even sure if I could get one right away, but thankfully they were able to take me in! And now, I'm writing this review because I want to say THANK YOU Rebekah!! You are the FIRST to actually style my hair with the soft curls I wanted! Every time that I got my hair cut or styled, they always give me the TIGHT curls that make my hair look too short! But then here you are! I'm just so happy that despite the length of my hair - you were actually able to give me the kind of soft curls I've been looking for! so THANK YOU THANK YOU!

I absolutely love the service at Chatters Hair Salon. From the stylists to the sales persons. I go to Hailey for my hair services and needs. She is absolutely amazing at hair. She fixed my over grown roots (cause of quarantine and they were closed) I got a full head of highlights and a hair cut from her. During the consultation, she listened to everything I wanted done, and offered me her Input as well. I love her work. Definitely would recommend going to Hailey. The workers are very well informed and extremely helpful to gear closest to your hair needs. Whatever questions you may have about your hair or hair products and what you’re trying to look for, they are so helpful, kind, friendly, and caring.

Amazing!!! As soon as I entered the salon to the time I exited I was treated impeccably. All staff at this salon are fantastic! Kudos to my stylist in particular Alex...within seconds I knew I was in good hands...she made me feel comfortable within minutes. After two years and my crazy head of hair her wonderful personality was just what I needed! Her professionalism and care she put in to taking the time to ensure I was happy with both the color technique and cut I was getting was pleasant and something not always used to with stylists! Thank you as I am so happy with everything and have a new favorite stylist/salon and definitely coming back soon! Flippin awesome!!

No star at all for this salon.. they just so sweet before uh get ur services done and they just flipped so quickly from their statements. I went to chatters for keratin treatment and at the time of consultation the manager told me that my hairs gonna be completely frizz-free and it will help my hair to be straighten upto 4 levels but after first wash my hairs goes back to normal as they were before treatment and when i tried to approach the salon they make delays and when manager saw she said that i have never said these statements i didn't use word it will completely gone she never accept what she said.. i will not recommend this salon ever to anyone.

The stylists here are great! They listen and work with you to achieve your vision. I highly recommend Stephanie for hair colouring. She is amazing!! She always does a great job and my colour lasts so long and grows out so naturally! She really takes her time with you and helps you decide what to do with your hair! I also highly recommend Hailey for the cut. She does colour as well which I am sure is great but I have only gotten a cut from her. She did exactly what I wanted and helped me figure out what I was visualizing as well!! Great service and experience from this salon! I highly recommend it!

I don't usually write reviews but Priscilla did such an amazing job cutting my hair! This was my first time going to this salon and to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect. Priscilla was so down to earth and easy to talk with- just overall very positive energy :) I showed her a photo and she cut it exactly how I wanted. I have thicker hair and wanted it thinned out. She didn't use thinning shears- but a different method of cutting to prevent it from getting frizzy. She said she worked in high end salons in Toronto for 15 years and I felt my hair cut reflected that. Thank you so much Priscilla!

Highly recommend Hailey for any of you're blonde needs. I came in today and after having my hair completely fried off by a stylist a year ago I was extremely nervous allowing another stylist to put bleach in my hair after almost loosing it all. Today... I walked out of the salon today having the most beautiful hair that matched my skin tone perfectly and on top of that i got exactly what i wanted when it comes for my inspiration photos i showed her. I'm beyond greatful for my referral to Hailey. If anyone is looking for a new go to, don't think twice. She's honestly an angel ❤️

I am honestly so disappointed. I have never had my hair cut so unevenly and brushed so roughly. The guy who did my hair said it tangles easily which wouldn’t of been true if he properly brushed my hair without being so rough. He caused so much breakage and messed up my curtain bangs by cutting a piece on the side too short. He also gave me HOT roots. You would think that they would have professional hairstylists here and don’t get me wrong everyone else seemed to be. Some people just shouldn’t be hairdressers. The price I paid for this terrible cut is just embarrassing.

A friend referred me to Hailey at Chatters, and my experience with both her and the salon has been AMAZING!!! She has turned my badly boxed-dyed hair into the best shade of blonde, and managed to keep it healthy along the way too. Finding a stylist you trust can be hard, but Hailey does a phenomenal job on both my colour and cut every time. I also love that Chatters usually has a promotion happening, so after each appointment I am sent home with a free hair mask/shampoo/etc. Never seen that at other salons!

Had such a great experience at Chatters. I was looking for a new place to get my haircut and coloured, and I've found it!! Such a welcoming location right from the outside. Everyone I encountered was very friendly, welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Very approachable location and staff, and I love that I can book my appointment online. I had Rebekah cut my hair and she was WONDERFUL, I can't say enough good things about her. I LOVE my haircut! Will be back in a couple months for sure!!

I visited Chatters at Square one very recently and got a balyage and a haircut with Adam who is fantastic. I was really nervous as it was my first time coloring my hair and I must admit Adam knows his stuff he is a great stylist and made me feel so comfortable and confident guided me through out explained everything so clearly and what he was doing and I am so happy with my hairdo . He is very patient and I would definitely recommend him for both haircut and hair colour.

Just had my hair cut after a long lockdown with Andrew. He is so talented and professional. Always smiling and welcoming. My hair had a lot of damage but Andrew was able to keep some length and get it smooth and shiny again. For the cut with blowout and TX was $75 which is extremely reasonable considering his level of experience. I am so happy my hair came out better than expected and feel like myself again and ready to go back to work. Ii highly recommend Andrew.

Horrible customer service! The associates are not all trained on the policy, I got a different story when I bought a tool from the store (try it and if it doesn’t work bring it back) versus when I actually tried to return it (we can’t take it if you opened the box). The people working on august 16th did not care to try and help, they were too busy trying to make a sale with other customers. I will never be back here!

My haircut seemed fine when I left the store but once I washed it I saw that the left side was shorter than the right side. This isn’t right for a haircut that cost $60+ for me. I have contacted management and will revise my review if I am contacted by them. UPDATE: Rebekah, did fix my haircut and took the time to listen to what my issue was. The two stars added were for her. I still rate my original haircut a 1/5.

Denisa did my blowout AMAZINGLY and she is so kind and good at what she does!! When you have a special event you should book her because she is someone you can always depend on to do a great job, be quick and great service! The front desk is also so sweet the system couldn’t find my booking but they were able to adjust the schedule so I could still have my hair done today, thank you so much everyone :)!!!

I got my Keratin done here by Kyla. Kyla is a great stylist - no doubt. Just that I did not get the results I expected from this treatment. I spent 250 dollars but looks like this treatment will not even stay for even a month. I have done this treatment from other salons earlier and have got good results. I just feel it was an investment at the wrong place and I did not really get my money's worth :(

I was referred to Chatters by a friend and was styled by Denisa. I must say, I loved the experience. I went to get a normal haircut with layers, but Denisa suggested I go with a new style and I'm so happy I trusted her whole-heartedly. She curled my hair and I loved them. it was my first ever hair cut in life, was really really anxious but the staff especially andrew(andy) helped me alot, it was the calmness in the tone of voice and staff make me feel comfortable, they listened to me and andy did everything to make my hairs look amazingggg!!!! i love it.. really appreciate the cut and professionalism of staff! once again, thank you a ton andrew!

I took my daughter to get her bangs trimmed, but the stylist we'd booked was away that day. They quickly set us up with a different stylist, Andy, who was very efficient and nice. Most of the staff were friendly, although there was one lady with a braid at the front who seemed a bit standoffish. Other than that, the service was good and my daughter loves her new bangs! I was very nervous getting my haircut as I've had bad experiences with hairstylists being rough with my hair. This was my first time at Chatters, and was referred to Hailey. She was very kind and listened to all my concerns, and also very gentle with my hair. She even helped me with picking out a flat iron, which I now love. Definitely will be coming back to Chatters!

I had an amazing experience with Rebekah. She’s as talented as they come. She gave me the exact colour I wanted for my hair and her technique for layers is implacable. Got my hair done by a master stylist, I believe it was Maria. She was just so incredibly rude and had the meanest attitude. For someone with so much experience, you would think she’d at least do a good job but she spent a maximum of 10 minutes cutting my hair and it just felt so lazy. My haircut was uneven and I had to get it fixed the next day by another girl.

Went in for a cut a few weeks ago with low expectations and had a fantastic experience with Kayla! She took the time to ask and confirm all the details before cutting anything. I have very long curly hair that usually takes a long time to style. Kayla did wonderful job of putting in love and detail into the cut. I will definitely be returning!

I went in just to get my hair trimmed and came out with a head full of highlights and the most gorgeous cut ever. Adam was incredible- I let him take the lead with everything from the colour to the cut and he knew exactly what would suit me. He is truly in a league of his own and I highly recommend booking an appointment with him.

Not only did they call me in advance to let me know the stylist was running late (a very important courtesy), but Hailey completely slayed my hair. She did exactly what I asked for while giving opinions and asking me for feedback along the way. I can’t remember the last time I left a salon so completely happy with what I paid for.

Denisa in particular has helped me transition my hair from a full bleach ash blonde to brunette to red, and each time she has exceeded my expectations. Denisa is professional, skilled, and truly cares about her clients, highly recommend.

Disgusting salon and disgusting service. Paid $400 for a balayage that looked like a single pressed colour, got it done then fixed 2 times from the most incompetent stylist Adam. At the end I ended up getting my hair fixed from another place. Avoid this place at all costs, save your money and go somewhere else.

Maria Louisa was really nice and did my hair and beard as I wanted them. She was also very patient as I had quite a few requests on how I wanted my hair and beard. Although, I think they are a bit expensive. The price can be better.
