I recently visited Chelsea library and had an extremely disappointing experience that has compelled me to write this review. During my visit, I was shocked and disgusted to witness a live rat within the library premises. This incident has raised serious concerns about the library's cleanliness, maintenance, and overall commitment to ensuring a safe environment for its patrons. The presence of a rat in a public facility such as a library is completely unacceptable. It not only poses health risks but also indicates a lack of proper pest control measures and maintenance practices. Libraries are supposed to be clean, serene spaces that foster learning and intellectual growth. However, encountering a rat running around clearly demonstrates a failure in maintaining a hygienic environment.

If you want to know what it was like in the 70s in Britain, this is the place to visit: Grumpy, obstructive staff finding excuses for not delivering any service. They are busier thinking up and enforcing rules for customers than doing anything useful. I visited on a weekday morning; there were three customers And at least four staff. It took half an hour of bureaucratic nonsense before I was allowed to use a computer, and after an hour I was chucked off, regardless of the fact that there were three Computers sitting there unused. This place is the strongest argument possible for shutting down public libraries and spending the money on something useful.

Stepping into the Chelsea Library is like entering a familiar embrace, where the love for books and the warmth of knowledge merge effortlessly. This remarkable library transcends its physical structure, making it much more than just a building filled with books. It is a sanctuary that feels like home.

Don't be fooled by the nice classic exterior of the building: the library is small, dreary, boring, and terrible in every sense of the word. I love libraries and this is the worst I've ever been to. If you're looking for a book that was published after the 80s rest assured they don't have it.

Ornate old building housing a two-level library with a good (and I mean that in the strictest definition) study area upstairs bathed in natural light but no wifi. Another sad example of a grand heritage building now fitted out with cheap

Really lovely staff. There are real works of art dotted around. Statues and what not. They seem to have training courses available for people looking for work or to expand on their skill set.

It's a nice library, shame the children's section has been closed for months due to water damage. It is relatively small but has a decent light atmosphere some computers and s study area.

Went to the children’s library with a 2 year old boy with a 2 year old. Found the staff to be rude and unhelpful. I think I’ll stick to walking further and going to Victoria

I thank my parents for giving me my love of books & this library is an excellent one. Plus the research section in the 1st floor is brilliant.

i like the library but it needs more supervisors. People inside the library usually sleep and talk loudly.
