Disgusting maternity experience! The most unprofessional and irresponsible load of staff that almost killed me. We chose this hospital per recommendation but ended up staying for a week post birth due to their negligence during my labour. No one was ready to admit me and they insisted I go home though my water had broke and I had lost so much fluid and insisted to be admitted. After a couple of hours, my pain begun and waited four hours to simply be examined because according to the midwives words I looked “too good and happy” to have started dilating. My partner convinced them to examine me as I was still leaking heavily and in pain but was refused a bed, upon examination they said I have dialated 3cm and can now be admitted. As I was moved to the labour ward I was in the hands of yet another awful and unprofessional midwife. After two hours of extreme pain, I was begging for an epidural. It was in my birth plan but they were short on staff. The pain was so extreme that I kept having reflux. Everything in my system was out and I was so weak. The pain getting heavier only to be mocked by her that “you’re only “3 cm” you shouldn’t be crying and screaming like this” no sign of compassion. Only from one condescending midwife to another. Disgusting behaviour. From a medical point of view I understood they couldn’t examine me too often due to the risks of an infection. I managed to have the epidural eventually and then requested to be examined as I was in too much pain as the epidural was taking an effect. I had dialated 7cm all that time that she was mocking me. I can go on about their appalling treatment all the way up until my discharge. The worst week of my life that I will always remember, from the nurses to the midwives and the doctors, all very rude and disrespectful. Do yourself a favour and choose a different hospital.
I visited the hospital mid afternoon on a week day and it wasn’t overly busy, I turned up to my appointment half an hour early and was seen straight away by a consultant. The Doctors and nurses are polite and friendly as are the receptionist staff. It’s a big hospital, the floors have artwork displayed on the walls which run down the length of the building. It’s extremely clean and looks great, there’s a small gift shop, Costa coffee, pharmacy and small chapel onsite. Plenty of lifts to use and hand sanitizer and face masks are available on entry. Great hospital and run very well. @chelseaandwestminsterhospital @CWH @Chelsea #hospital @westminster @nhs #nhs @westminster
The best hospital I've had any involvement with. Spent a week here after an A&E admission resulting in surgery and recovery. Absolutely cannot fault anything about this hospital (other than the food) - it's clean, the staff are attentive and caring, A&E was busy but they still had the time to treat me effectively, surgery seems to have gone well, the recovery nurses were absolutely incredible, the ward staff were everything I needed and the follow up appointments have all been to plan. As I said - can't fault it. I'd hope to not need a hospital again any time soon but if I do, I'd much rather be here!
Came here for my first antenatal appointment and was looked after by a wonderful midwife called Maddy. She was incredibly welcoming, thorough and knowledgeable, I felt very well cared for and had all my questions answered. I was also seen by Mariam, a fantastic phlebotomist that was very kind and extremely skilled, couldn’t feel a thing and she made me feel super comfortable. I couldn’t be more please with my first visit, everyone I met was kind, caring and welcoming. I was seen without any delays and the whole process felt well-planned and efficient!
I don’t normally write Google reviews but I was blown away by my experience at Chelsea and Westminster recently . I had a hysterectomy here - the whole experience from diagnosis to surgery to care was exceptional . Minimal waiting and as for the ward staff and surgeons - what a kind , hard -working and dedicated group of people . My partner also came here to A and E and had little waiting time , immediate treatment and follow up checks and appointments for the next two days. This is , in my view , one of the best nhs hospitals in London .
Top tier staff, super friendly. I came through Urgent Cared and stayed at St Mary's Abbot ward. I had a very small operation and was cared at top level. Only problem was that as they were really really busy, timings were really long but wouldn't take a star out because they did everything that they could and I always was checked and cared. NHS Legends! Especial shout out to Alex that even looking really busy as she was looking after the whole ward, took excelent care of me and all the patients around.
Great experience with the doctors and friendly staff. Physiotherapy staff is absolutely brilliant. Polite, helpful patient and knowledgeable. Barry is great. Architecture and design of the hospital itself is amazing and actually great to see on its own. Bright, light, a lot of light and art. I would say that it's helping the healing process. Despite the long trip to get there, I'm always happy to go.
I have only AMAZING things to say about C&W hospital. I popped my knee out at 6:00am - tore a ligament etc, went to the hospital at 6:30am and was out with an X-ray, crutches and a soft cast by 7:25am. The doctors and staff were incredible. Kind, knowledgeable and courteous. Even my follow up visit was incredible and fast. No wait time!! Five stars!!!!
I had the most positive experience giving birth here on the birth center in early August 23. My midwife (Christie) was incredible, I was not left waiting for anything, it felt like private healthcare. Every person I interacted with was friendly and professional. I would not go anywhere else to have a baby! Just excellent.
