To start off my coffee tasted like pure WATER. I sipped it 3 times to be sure. I’m a big coffee drinker so I sent it back and didn’t want it replaced. I ordered a Keisha’s special With grilled fish waffle, eggs and grits. The eggs were okay and the fish was veryyyy lightly seasoned and had these HUGEEE ugly chunks of bell peppers and onions as if the cook barely tried to chop them thrown on the top. so many I had to hunt for my fish. yet it still lacked flavor so I was confused. It wasn’t pleasing to the eye nor the taste buds. I didn’t eat the grits nor the waffles because I was completely turned off. My guy ate all of his waffles so I assume he liked them. I felt as if I was just forcing the fish down to put something on my stomach. Wasn’t very enjoyable. Our waiter barely came to the table and we had to flag other people down when we needed something and was 3 seconds from having to ask someone else to ring us out because he really wasn’t coming to the table. To wind it back when I first came in my fiancé dropped me by the door and he went to park the car. I told her I wanted a table for 2 but I wasn’t able to sit down until he came in. I had to stand by the door while people were coming in and out even being seated before me. Then After being seated the waiter took a while to get to us which contradicts me having to wait until a 2 person party is complete before being seated. There was a male plumber coming in and out of the woman’s restroom and it made it extremely uncomfortable. Then the plumber is Lolly gagging with the staff. I don’t mind him putting in orders but walking all around the restaurant and walking back into the kitchen very comfortably as a plumber sounds nasty. It’s just an all and all no for me today and I’m sad about it.

Unfortunately, this is something I have to do. I had a small window between my lunch break, and the time that the food was going to be ready to order. I ordered my Uber ride ahead of time and plan accordingly based upon the timeframe they gave me about when my food will be ready. I arrived and ordered my food and waited since you could not order over the phone. I was told that my food would be ready in 20 to 25 minutes it took over 40 to 45 minutes before I had to leave because my Uber was waiting for me. I still need to go back and get my refund for the food I never received And it’s such a sad state of affairs because I really wanted to try this place. I may give them another chance and come back, but I definitely need a reimbursement from the services I did not receive I could not wait any longer and it’s unfortunate to just say you have to wait until we’re done with your food when I paid to be here and I know what time I have available. The crazy thing was the only thing that I ordered was one of their main dishes. It was the chicken and waffle as well as an egg white omelette. That should’ve taken no less than 20 minutes to make and serve up. I should not have been there more than 40 minutes Somebody even ask why is this man’s food taking so long and I just had to get up and leave. SMH. When I try them again, I will leave it. Hopefully more positive experience review.

Today we were headed home back to WA. We found this restaurant on Tik Tok which gave some good reviews. However our order was not as good. Here is my honest review. Upon entry a nice young lady greeted us. Her personality was pleasant and informative. So we gave the service a 5 The atmosphere was a nice vibe we all agreed (there is 5 of us) the women bathroom had no paper towels and no toilet paper but it was given upon request. Food: we order two orders of the chicken and waffles. Tiny chicken wings, all three can fit in one hand. Cook good but ZERO flavor. The waffle was thin and that’s fine however it was dry. Three sides of Mac and cheese: nice and creamy, nice amount of cheese but again no seasoning no flavor Yams: simply AMAZING!!!!! Shrimp and Grits: absolutely awful! ZERO FLAVOR not even the shrimp, watery grits overall a minus 5 Overall we needed more flavor in our food. More love put into the food.

The best thing was that a staff member from the kitchen was attentive. The young man at the front upon entering has room for improvement. Customer Service 101....If you make eye contact with a guest that has just walked in, acknowledge the customer. Don't just walk away and start wiping down tables. Don't misunderstand I am 100% for cleaning but a quick greeting & I'll be with you shortly makes ALL the difference. If it wasn't for a staff member in the kitchen seeing me & communicating....I would've left. My collards were tasty but a very small portion (surprised because that's not the norm), fried chicken was dry (maybe re-warmed?). Yams were tasty and mac-n-cheese wasn't the best. Perhaps it was an off night because they've never let me down before so I will return and that will determine my next review.

The food was good but the chicken was cold. It wasn’t as hot as it could’ve been and I usually prefer my chicken to be Piping hot the sides were hot though we also wanted grilled chicken but that had to be replaced and stayed with fried chicken because they ran out also only having two drink choices of sierra mist, or fruit punch. I wanted a strawberry lemonade. Unfortunately there was nothing else to drink but other than that, the atmosphere was top-notch the music was on point and the clientele is friendly would definitely recommend going back for the chicken and waffles. If it’s not good, you’ll be hearing from me again but I’m sure it will be stay updated.

I ordered the chicken dinner dark, and my friend ordered waffles and chicken. Our chicken was completely dried out as if it were in a microwave for too long. The waffles were dry, and had a cardboard feel and tasted horrible. The beans& rice were extremely bland, the cornbread was dry and bland, and the greens were 90% stalk and 10% leaf. The sweet potatoes we ok. On top of that, the waitress only came to our table once after our food came. We actually had to flag down another waiter to pay our bill when she dropped the check off. I will not recommend this to a friend. And I will not return to this establishment.

I’m a regular customer at Chicken and Waffles and have always been impressed with whatever I eat from there. However, this experience was completely disappointing. The greens were not up to the usual standard. They were not properly cleaned and had visible dirt and grit, which is not something I've encountered before from this restaurant. My food was also not securely sealed, resulting in some of the contents spilling out. This was definitely a letdown, especially since I've never had any issues in the past. This experience left me feeling quite dissatisfied. I really hope it's just a one-time lapse in quality and not a new trend. I ordered on UberEats.

A random find, but so glad we stopped in. Everyone was really friendly and the food was fantastic. The waffles are fresh and delicious and the chicken is so tender. I got mine smothered and the gravy was delicious. Hubby was thrilled they had gizzards on the menu and it was a huge serving too.

I ordered 2 waffles and a chicken wing dinner with Mac. The waffles were buy one get one and I can see why. When my niece opened the box the waffle was cold and hard. She tried to cut a piece which was a task and she literally was tugging with it between her teeth and it was like leather. The Mac was old and brown. I spent 63.00 via Uber Eats (which it's not their fault I paid extra for 1st delivery). What an epic waste of money. Uber refunded me the waffle price but never ever will I eat here again. 1st time and the last time!

The service was very good . The atmosphere was nice. Clean restaurant. The food was okay. The smothered chicken was quite smothered chicken, it was fried chicken with gravy poured over it right before it was bought to the table. The mac and cheese was delicious . I’m just exhausted with this restaurant and spent too much money for this food to taste the way it does. I order catfish and I just knew that was tilapia. Why would you do that? The greens tasted very salty as well. I’ve given this business countless times but this was it. If you’re going to go here understand what you’re going to get. The food was good. Not as good as Rosco's in LA but good. But the service wasn't that great. We we're waiting for the other half of our party to arrive so they didn't seat us right away. Immaculate Black American comfort food. No complaints at all for the kitchen. Southern style Collars Greens, quick seasoned Fried Chicken, Cajun gravy Red Beans and Rice… with meat in all the veg.
