"What can I say about Chico's coffee shack? Awesome, fun, funky"
I went to Chicos yesterday on the 4th and enjoyed my coffee. I accidentally left my wallet on the table and was unable to get it until the following day. I called them in the morning and they said they had it and saw me leave it on the table. I was grateful that they took care of my belongings only to find my chunk of cash in the wallet was stolen. I was even going to give them a tip for taking care of my things for me, however I guess they decided on their own that they needed the money more than me. Needless to say I’m disappointed and most likely won’t be back. Update: I spoke with a woman who was the owner and she was instantly defensive, didn’t apologize and even accused me of being under the influence. Had to hang up on her because they clearly didn’t want to make things right. Don’t make the mistake I did of leaving your things there. A small business like this should care more about their customers.
So I’ll start off with there was one you kid working the register an making drink alone poor kid, took us about 15 minutes after getting here to finally order, then as I start to place my order they tell me that all the drinks listed under “VALENTINES DAY DRINKS” were no longer being served, so menu wasn’t updated, then my wife an I are sitting at our table, a man walks on that I’m assuming was the owner, walks behind the coffee bar makes himself a drink an leaves meanwhile there was a customer at the register waiting there about 10 minutes nobody greeted him in that time the man I’m assuming that was the owner made him self a drink an left, I myself work in the customer service industry an never would we treat customers supporting our small Buisness this way I will never return here nor recommend anyone to this place
Support Local!! Support Small biz!! With the downtown area hit hard by Covid and redevelopment/road work so many small businesses have disappeared. I stumbled upon this NEW coffee shop around the corner from the courthouse. In house roasted beans for Espresso and Ice brewed coffees!! Simple decor, pleasant mix music, gave Chicos a very calming presence to the usual bustling nature near the courts. Competitive prices(compared to Starbucks) and a nice optional selections of drinks including fresh brew teas, smoothies, and craft sodas. Some small snacks as well as breakfast tacos available.

Great experience and excellent coffee. Found this after looking for a nearby coffee shop to our hotel to break away from the watered down hotel brew. Chico’s was the absolute best to make that happen. From the awesome historical building and decor to the service provided as we ordered, to the awesome coffee and tacos - it was all above expectations. Thank you for making our morning a little brighter with a smile and good coffee.

What can I say about Chico's coffee shack? Awesome, fun, funky. I love the disco playing in the background. The owner was super nice, and made me feel so welcomed.I could go on about how awesome the coffee was or how delicious the bacon and egg breakfast tacos were. You just have to come in yourself and see.I love this place. Its just my disco retro vibe.I love the cool art pics hanging on the wall too. The music is retro. Disco and 80s. Yay ! Cindy Lauper playing. lol This place rocks.

“The Real Deal for Espresso” The affable owner of this one room cafe is serious about coffee and service: He roasts his own coffee beans and asked us twice, how we liked our order and the place, in order to “always make it better.” Chico’s is about the only biz on the street that is open, while the owner is optimistic that the area will once more develop, and business will pick up. We hope so, as this cafe is a gem.

Great local shop. My daughter and I were on vacation and wanted something close to San Fernando cathedral. This did not disappoint. It was a little higher priced than what we had been paying, but SO worth it. Decor was Central American themed, and proprietress was warm and friendly. We will go back.

Owner is super nice. They had a winter menu available with new flavored coffees that were delicious! Perfect for the cold weather! They offer tacos and bakery items, including bagels. They also have plenty of space to sit inside and are relatively quick.

NO BREAKFAST TACOS!! NOOOOOOOOO! A little bit off the river, A little walk from the Nueva dam on street level. We ran here Sunday morning to get some coffee and breakfast tacos, BUT THEY DISCONTINUED THEM. :sadpanda: but don't despair; they have a selection of very delicious pastries to grab with your coffee or refresher. The 20oz coffees seemed a little watered down, but we did order them with almond milk, so YMMV.
It was a spacious, quiet, and cozy spot for a mid-morning coffee. The barista was kind and informative. The only way it could have been better if the service was faster. That’s not because the barista wasn’t working hard. He was going as fast as he could. Unfortunately, he was the only one there running the register, making coffee, and greeting customers.

Not impressed - the latte I got has no flavor. The breakfast tacos are mediocre and to top it off parking was difficult but the people were nice.

My boyfriend and I came in for coffee which were both delicious! The workers were also equally nice and both greeted us with a "good morning!" We got an iced hazelnut latte and an iced white chocolate mocha latte and both were delicious! Great price for the size you get as well. I would recommend everyone to go and try it if you're in downtown San Antonio.
We had the best experience! The cappuccino was probably the best I’ve ever had. The owner explained the smooth richness it had bc of their house roasted blends. The breakfast tacos are crazy good and so are the pastries! I love supporting a local, family owned business who make everything in house and this place has it all! Can’t wait to be back!
I'm no coffee expert, but as a small business owner I know a little about customer service! Chico's staff were personable, knowledgeable, helpful, and quick! I had an excellent experience and will definitely be going out of my way to come back when I'm downtown again. :)

My fiancé and I went here today for the first time and loved it! Great service with kind and friendly owners! Came for the coffee and was pleasantly surprised to see tacos too. I had a cold brew coffee and a bacon egg n cheese taco and my fiancé had an americano coffee with a egg n chorizo taco, everything was delicious. We will be returning!
Great little spot tucked away close to UTSA new campus downtown. I had an espresso fueled latte w/ whole milk and salted caramel flavoring, it was excellent and anytime I’m down here this will be my goto spot!

Nice people in there and the coffee did not disappoint. The place is a little old/worn down but they customer service makes up for it and they do have some nice tables and seating areas. There’s not much in the surrounding area but down the street is all the little markets so it’s not too far away from other things.
My latte was made with spoiled soy milk. I took one sour sip of it and nearly threw up. The barista was unfriendly and seemed begrudging when taking my order, despite me being the only customer there.

Awesome fast service, I didn’t get to try to food. The toilet could use some TLC, maybe use some CLR the calcium lime remover liquid. Empty most of the water and place CLR on paper towel, leave it there for half a day or full day, add more CLR so it doesn’t dry out. Then wipe it off, it comes right off.
It’s nice to have a good coffee place downtown! The owner was very kind and friendly and I walked away with a delicious iced americano. Their beans are good and better than Starbucks. Only wish they were closer to me, will definitely be going back!

This place is great! I was looking for local coffee while attending court affairs. Excellent customer service, clean, quiet and the price is great. I would much rather pay for coffee here than a big chain. They take the time to explain flavors and all. Kuddos! **the love monkey frappe**

Cute small place to get coffee, it’s really nice and quite there and they also have tacos that are 10/10 as well. The environment is so relaxing and their seasonal pumpkin cold brew was a FAVE. I would recommend this spot to anyone who gets overwhelmed going to big coffee shops
Love the breakfast tacos. Coffee isn't bad. Not sure if the barista was having a bad day or something but it shouldn't take 20 minutes to pour pre-made lemonade into a cup. She was very quiet, didn't greet us. Definitely needs to work on some people skills and being quicker.
Great coffee spot to take a lunch at by the court house; especially if on jury duty. Had an asiago bagel and an almond joy flavored frappuccino

Loved eating at this coffee shop. A nice quiet study environment and when I complimented them on it, they offered to turn the soft background music down even more. Good coffee and great potato and egg breakfast tacos. I’ll definitely be back …
Great coffee and brunch spot across the street from the Cadena Reeves Justice Center downtown. I came here during a jury duty break and my latte was perfect! Service was very quick and friendly.

Rude barista didn't call out my drink, I was the only customer and obviously facing away from the bar. No napkins at condiment bar. I get being on your phone, but not if it's making the experience poor. Coffee was average.
Great folks with their coffee roasting game on lock. I got a legit Ethiopia pour over and a very nice latte. Owner is very friendly. They're new, but they'll be around a while if they keep this up. Give them a try.
Yes, exactly others already mentioned! Its a cute little coffee shop with really nice people working there. I ordered a caramel latte and it was super yummy! Support local business and come check this place out!

Great to see a local coffee shop! Sorry if I've missed any others, but I've only found chains until now. BIG menu, good lattes, and solid breakfast tacos (in-house tortillas ).
