August is 19 2022, I monitored the wait time through tho CHOA app. It said 38 minutes which was great compared to the 2+ hours it was showing earlier in the morning and afternoon. We make it at 7:08 go through the triage and registration process the waiting room was not empty nor was it full. we finally make it back to our asisigned room close to 9pm. We wait and wait the nurse comes in to tell us she had to get my son’s weight because it was not recorded. I watch her take the weight and exit the room without writing anything down and saying his weight repeatedly so she can remember. I watched her take his vitals the same way not writing it down or recording it. The doctor finally come in and say “oh well everything sounds good for my son, we’ll go ahead and start your discharge process to get you guys out of here”.. A concerning amount of time goes by and I go to the hallway to inquire why it’s taking long for discharge papers ESPECIALLY because nothing was wrong, as i am approaching theirs staff standing their talking amongst each other. The lady says “let me check for you” only for her to say “oh it’s printing, give us a minute” 20 minutes go by and i truly don’t understand how and why they needed “a few minutes”. I then stop another nurse because at this point enough is enough, im irritated and my child is too. The second nurse brings the paper which i signed in the hallway because I wasn’t going to give them the satifisfaction or time to let another 15 min go by. By the time we were fully discharged it was 10:05. I couldn’t help but notice that the waiting room was FULL and each child and their family was black. The thing that i can’t shake is the possibility that the nurses and doctors in the back were purposely moving slow because “when have they every rushed for us?”. Why keep my son and I in the room waiting to be discharged as if there wasn’t a waiting room full of kids waiting to be seen? Also the I couldn’t help but notice how slow the pace of EVERYBODY in the back was. It appeared to be ONE older doctor working at an even slower pace. The only thing the back seemed to be worried about is food but not the capacity of or well being of patients in the front waiting. That’s all they were talking about.. the food that had arrived, what they had for them to eat, etc. I thought that was insane since they tell you NO food and/or drink until your child sees the doctor but yet they are having full blown conversations about food as if people and their children aren’t also hungry after waiting hours and hours. in conclusion/ my opinion: This place purposely takes their time, allow the wait time to accumulate because they do not truly care about the children or families that come through their doors and lack empathy for the ones their waiting. My heart ached for the families that waited because they have no idea that they’ll be in there all night due to the back staff dragging their feets because they rather talk about the food waiting for them in the break room or anything else they deem more important than the well-being of the innocent kids waiting in their waiting room. also if they are recording vitals off the dome imagine the error margin that this creates or can create!

I've never had an experience more horrible than I've had tonight. I brought my son in a little bit after 10:00 p.m. for a foot injury. It's 3:19 a.m. and we're still at the hospital. It took them more than 3 hours to do an x-ray to wait another hour to come in and do another x-ray. Almost 2 hours passing between x-rays but no results, no visitation from the attending physician, and absolutely no communication. We're just sitting in the room waiting hours upon hours for results and treatment that has yet to happen. We've been working with the resident who does not know what is going on at all, who is not attentive in the least bit, and has communication issues. I will never come back to this location for any type of service. I always try to consider the fact that in this day and age, a lot of facilities are short staffed. Tonight that is not the issue... The issue lack of compassion, lack of communication with your fellow peers, and the inability to be able to treat this issue in a timely manner. I have other children that I have to get back home to and get up for school. Mind you, I've been awake since 6:00 a.m. yesterday. My patience is wearing really thin. I guess because my son is not screaming and hollering to the top of his lungs he is not a priority. He has had fractures in the past that were not painful either but nevertheless, a fracture is a break. It's just heartbreaking to keep hearing I'm sorry without any results. Update - We weren't released until after 5 a.m. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

DO NOT go to this facility. The staff is incredibly unprofessional, not to mention, condescending. To start, do not tell a parent that you will obtain a physical copy of their child's medical records and then proceed to say you will not release them until they schedule another visit. Do not proceed to then back track your incorrect claims to say "the evaluation isn't complete yet" when, in fact, the evaluation in question was completed over a year ago. I understand working in healthcare is challenging and sometimes outright exhausting - but for the love of God - DO NOT LIE TO ANOTHER HEALTH CARE PROVIDER BECAUSE YOU DO NOT FEEL LIKE DOING YOUR JOB. Do not refer to the diagnosing physician by their nickname to someone who does not know them. Do not proceed to get a sour attitude when someone is politely inquiring about obtaining a medical record after confirming they will indeed sign a medical release form. DO NOT work in the healthcare industry if you do not intend on helping people. Clearly, the individual I interacted with does not care about anyone but herself. All in all, if you are a parent or human being in general, you're better off going literally anywhere else.

Came here to get help for my infant Keiola Bland bcuz I expressed my religious reviews about not allowing my child to get a xray examination at 28 days of birth after they checked her heart rate numerous times at the hotel and in EMS and after being told she was fine they removed my child out my hands discrimating me which caused me extreme anxiety and fear because I didn't want to leave my child unattended with the doctors due to me having to get my other children they made it seem like I refused care when I told them if she didn't appear to be ok later on after they said she was okay I would take her to Emory which was more local to my home and gives much better service than them never again they won't update me on my child or her well-being or let me know which caseworker from dfcs was assigned the security broke my phone which still have videos of me being discriminated numerous time I do not feel safe with my daughter here they are cruel & unprofessional

Our 2 week old baby received 6 star care. We waiting 10 minutes in the waiting room and they immediately started testing and talking us through everything they were going to do. The DR’s like everywhere are extremely busy, but the nurses are 1st class and make you feel like you are the top priority and that you are in the right place. They had to do a spinal tap and I requested the attending do the procedure instead of the resident and they did not question us! Once we were admitted the care team on the third floor were amazing and the rooms were modern and clean. We were cared for by respiratory specialists, lactation consultants, family advocates, and even had someone come to see if we needed toys or baby stuff! I hope we never have to come back, but if we ever do need a children’s hospital it will be here. Special thank you to the nurses and shoutout to Chi Chi and the parking attendant for always having a spot right outside the hospital day/night!

Racist nurses and doctors are on staff. The nurse I had failed my daughter hearing test and assumed that was gonna be documented. No ma'am repeat test with me present and she passed. Test for hearing test was ver noisy and I told her then im sure you have failed other kids who can hear. Doctor kept calling my daughter buddy when i clearly kept saying this is a girl, like call my daughter by her name. Every sentence was interrupted before I could finish. Every question was asked with the answer in it, which made me say repeatedly -you just answered your own question. Appointment at 3 seen at 6 and ready to go, when doctor comes back and ask do i want an EPI pen since she see she is allergic to banana explain what happens when she eats it. I told her it's in the chart, but she still insists i tell her. To much White racist approaching seen and We wouldn't be back....other things happened but no space for details.

Everyone was super professional ! They asked detailed questions and they were nice. Children aren’t always responsive during a visit and they weren’t rude at all. They give the teacher and doctor vibe and I loved it. I was here for exactly 3 hours in the Emergency room but on a Sunday I felt like we were seen appropriately. I was never asked about payment until after 2 evaluations and even then I received a packet with information saying Childrens give care without payment. This was a pleasant visit and will be the only place I bring my child! The pharmacy was the only problem! The lady with the red hair seem to be irritated with everyone dropping off prescriptions and just very rude! My visit was extended a whole 30 minutes after she said I would only be waiting 10 minutes. Another lady stepped in to help and I’m glad she did.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. We were visiting from out of town. My daughter was in a cast and it was slowly sliding off so we took her here. We sat in the ER waiting room for 7 hours before we were seen by a doctor. While in the waiting room, her cast came completely Off. We also saw many families leave because of the long wait. Should’ve took that as a sign to leave. The staff was nice but the wait was horrible and cold. Finally we got a room 7 hours later, waited another 2 hours to only receive a splint and for the doctor to tell us to make an appointment for my daughter when we got back home. Months later, we received our bill and the hospital put a lot of things that they did not do, like a surgery. We are still trying to figure out our hospital bill with our military insurance. DO NOT RECOMMEND this hospital!

First of all I have been going to this hospital with my little ones for years. After giving birth to my third child this is the first time I've experienced any problems with this place and staff. Mainly the staff they are rude and just down right nasty. You call them you on hold for about a good 45 mins to schedule an appointment then when you finally get them to the phone your on hold again for another 45 mins.Like what the hell its ridiculous! Talking to the personnel they act like you have ruined their day by calling. Getting smart actin miserable when your talking to them. And if your working at a hospital you are dealing with people everyday and if you don't like your job quit!!!!! The place is nice and the colors are very inviting to the children. But the staff that you all have in your facility is HORRIBLE!

  • Keosha B

First let’s point out the fact that this hospital advertises a waiting period of 100 hr, That’s 1hr and 40 minutes to my knowledge… I came here at 9:20 pm on the dot!!!!!!it’s now 12:00 pm the next morning and I’m still sitting in the waiting area, I realize I’m still sitting there so I decided to go ask someone if they could explain to me why 3 hrs later I’m still sitting in the waiting area….the answer I got…”no one’s stopping you from leaving we go by the severity of the illness mean while my one year old is screaming from the top of her lung in the waiting area like that’s normal..But they didn’t consider that as pain. As I sat there even longer with no one ever even gave an update…when a business main source of income is Medicad from their costumers except the experience to be mediocre.

  • Shante Frazier

Do not take your child to this hospital. The other reviews are completely accurate. I spent over 5 hours waiting on a doctor. I would have preferred for the staff to be transparent about the long potential wait times so I could have taken the time to find an alternative solution. I will caveat this review by saying the staff was nice and welcoming. However, having a sick child is already a stressful event. You shouldnt have to couple that with dealing with extremely long wait times. Im hoping that management sits down and review their historical data to gain insight on hours/ days of the week where there is a mismatch between available doctors and patients coming in. Understanding capacity so that you can shorten wait times is one of the top three drivers of patient satisfaction.

My 2 yr old went in with a fever of 103.1 and the e.r had her sitting in the waiting area for 45 min. When they finally called her to the back the temperature was checked and the nurse said she was coming back with meds to bring the fever down. An hour later no meds no nurse no doctor. I asked to speak to the supervisor her response was we are low on staff, only have one doctor and we are also on shift change. So I left later my child had to be transported by ambulance with a fever of 104.2. Took her to a different hospital that treated my child very well to find out she has the flu. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to no one with a child because they do not take their health serious, especially an infant child.

I just have to give a few shout outs to some people personally last night when I went to the emergency room for my daughter. First, the front desk attendant. She was very professional and courteous. Ensured that everything happened in an orderly fashion, very attentive. Secondly, the traveling nurse,Tasha. When I say she was soo observant and attentive to the needs of the patients as well as the parents or guardians that were with the children. She prioritized her patients and kept us informed of the time frame and processes. Extended services like grabbing a blanket just by being attentive and see my child curled up. Super timely with discharging and providing instructions. Thank you both. We need more like you

  • Jennifer Orchid

My son had high blood pressure when we walked in and we were sent to sit In the waiting room for another 1.5hrs. You will wait for HOURS just to see a NURSE once and then wait several more hours to see a doctor. We still haven't seen a doctor and they NEVER addressed the high blood pressure. We've been here so long they're doing a shift change and we still haven't been seen. The staff employed here are just in it for a paycheck and don't actually care about the sick child. Hands down the WORST childrens hospital we've been to. CHOA is a joke and I would never recommend to anybody. I'd say one location is better than the other but they're all really bad. We will be leaving to go to Peidmont for professional care.

So my son had a head injury. I brought him here on the 29th of May. I explained what happened and asked for a X-ray. I was told by one doctor that he only has a contusion, however, after the supervising doctor seen him, she diagnosed him with a head injury and a mild concussion. I had previously asked the doctor if he had a concussion and she said to me no. They refused to give my 9 year old son the proper care in which I asked them to. I brought him back on April 1st and no this is not an April Fool’s joke! We have been sitting here at this hospital since close to 5 pm and I am very dissatisfied, frustrated, upset and in shock. This makes no sense, now I see why they have a below 3 percentile rating!!!

  • R. Jessica Higg

I have two little boys and I have yet to have a bad experience. My son was just there last night. He could have had to have immediate surgery due to an obstructed umbilical hernia. Thank God for wisdom and fast thinking by the attending physician. Although my son will still have to have surgery.. Last night was night that night. He's gone snuggled in the bed with me!!! All i remember through the horrifying moment was bubbles floating around me and the minions movie playing over my son's memorable screams of pain. The nurses was doing everything aim around him to keep him calm. I'm almost in tears writting this. GREAT JOB..... I MEAN TOTALLY AND AWESOMELY GREAT JOB TEAM! #CHOA #HUGHESPALDING

Havent been to the ER. So i have no experience with that. But i took my son to DAY SURGERY And the staff their was awesome Especially the triage nurse can't remember her name it started with a S. But anyways she was funny and had a great personalitys, you can tell she is great with kids. All the nurses in Day surgery that my son had were excellent. Both His surgeon was awesome. They answered all my questions. Then all the nurses on the 4th floor Kim ,kamisa ,and caitlyn and a student nurse .were awesome and took good care of my son and myself. Im very thankful for all who helped thank care of my son. my only complaint.....the room service food wasnt good, and cafeteria staff was rude.

This hospital is the worst, how are they still operating. My son been sitting here having an asthma attack and we been in this lobby for over 10 minutes. How did people who come in after us is seen before us. My son is two and get disability for his asthma and we are being treated like it not serious when we have been hospitalized multiple time. I have a mind to sue this hospital because asthma results in death and my son breathing is getting heavier and heavier. I will never come here again and i will be contacting the better business or look into who i can talk to about this matter. DONE WALK RUN AWAY FEOM THIS HOSPITAL THEU ARE JOT FOR THE CHILDREN AS THEY SAY THER ARE!!!!

  • Sherry Echols

I am so upset. Took my son in for a broke finger at 12:30 sat there for over 7hrs for Dr. Agarwall and another Doctor whose name I did not get I just know he is Caucasian, to finally realize with both of their expensive educations that they can not repair his finger here and he has to br transported to Scottish Rite off 400. After me asking several times what is the process or what is going to be done. I am so upset right now I can scream. The lack of urgency or concern just irritated me so bad. My baby has not eaten since 12 noon. This is the worst service I have ever had. I did not want to give the 1 star but the system will not allow ypu to submit without giving a rating

  • Y Primrose

Started out being a good hospital because the doctors were good. However, the customer service is horrible. Can't get an appointment when you need one. Don't need paperwork signed, other doctor ofice and specialist and therapist can't get required documents back on time. Please don't forget school excuse because you will never be able to get in touch with anyone to get have it just waiting for you to pick it up. You will have to take the physical trip back, stand in the long lines, fight to get the document and it still could take hours. If I cound find a private doctor taking new patients in my area, I would move my little one there without a second thought.

  • tiffany jolomi

Omg so everyone was amazing unfortunately I don't remember the doctors names coming in but we were seen within 5 minutes of arrival baby had a high fever & they say that’s the reason why we were seen so quickly I also had my other 2 sons but baby when I tell you they was moving so fast at one point 2 people were calling our number at the same time. 3rd floor ALEXIS & COURTNEY were AMAZING. I had my baby 12 days ago and their care for him while I got caught up on some much needed rest was far beyond a gods given blessing. Everyone was great the doctors nurses even the male that bright the food was kind. I’m mad I can’t remember names 10 stars .

I arrived here at 8:58am with my daughter who vomited four times and complaining of stomach pain. We didn’t get a room until 10:48am after checking the wait times before coming in which was 24 minutes is one of the only reasons I came here. This Children’s hospital is the worst of all time. I never experienced this long of a wait and this carelessness at Egleston. I’ve never come back to Hughes Spalding no matter how close they are to home. Even when my oldest daughter was rushed here by ambulance because she had an allergic reaction they were careless. It’s 11:20am and my daughter is still crying from stomach pain.

  • Shenika Mckibbins

They say they treat the child due to servereness weve been here for almost 5 hrs for possible strep they talk to u nasty they saw my phone and they were more concerned about what i was recording then my sick child . They sent several nurses to ask can i delete my recordings but no one to check on my sick daughter after i refused to show them anything on my phone they finally sent a doc to check her out. Doc said the strep test came back positive so they would treat it as that no treatment for the high bloood pressure either. This hospital is UNDERSTAFFED and the children are suffering

  • T R

The faculty and staff are unprofessional and have no genuine desire to help patients in need. I contacted the center via phone and the woman who answered was rude and patronizing. It was as if she was irritated with me simply asking questions. Towards the end of the conversation, she told me that I wouldn't be able to receive copies of my own medical records because they were incomplete. So in order to get a copy of my OWN records I would have to come in person for an appointment two months from now. This is absolutely unacceptable and the customer service deserves no stars.

  • Anjamul Hoque Ananda

Their primary care is the worst ever. They drew blood for new born screening once, few moments later said it was clogged so they would have to start from the beginning again. They drew blood twice again. Then two weeks later when we returned they said the screening order was canceled by somebody by mistake and they have to draw the blood again. They ordered a renal ultrasound for the baby, I asked them if we need to get a schedule. They ensured we did not have to. When we came for the visit and asked them, nobody had any idea about that and told us to go to radiology.

  • Cyanide Cara

To make a long story short DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE IF THEY ARE DIAGNOSED WITH A MENTAL ILLNESS I called mental crisis for my daughter they brought her here only to listen to what she says and puts Children Protective services on someone who’s never been associated with them and my oldest is 26. I knew was a bad idea since it’s a Fulton County Hospital she should’ve went to Egelston Children Hospital where they’re equipped with the best doctors and will help your child not HINDER THEM OR MAKE IT SEEMS LIKE THE PARENT IS THE ISSUE I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN THERE

  • Sharhonda Thomas

The worse hospital ever, the wait time is horrible, the nurses are sitting around eating and laughing meantime you have a waiting room full with black patients that they don’t care about mainly because of their insurance. I been waiting for 4 hours and the front desk tells me it’s the severity of the patient. My child have been having chest pains, so that’s not severity enough. This hospital do not take black patients health seriously at all. I am so sick of it and it’s time for a change. You go in the predominantly white community and get the better service.

  • Jessi Carter

This hospital is the worse hospital I’ve ever been to in my life. They sent my son home in chronic pain. Then when we returned they wouldn’t be straight forward with me about what was wrong with my son. The security officer was rude and nasty, he cursed at me. It was a horrible experience. The doctors just kept guessing on what’s wrong with my son and kept trying different medications on him, and never got his pain under control. So I ended up taking him to Scottish Rite for better care. Such a shame, I would never recommend this place to anyone.

  • Chandra Dawson

Worst experience! As a healthcare worker myself this was the worst experience imaginable. My grandson went unconscious on a flight today for 2.5 minutes. Was transported by ambulance to this hospital to have an ekg, no blood work, no brain scan. They sent him home without even remotely trying to get answers. Advised us to follow up with a pediatrician. This is a joke! When my daughter ask what she should do if this happens again they advised her to video it so they could see what was actually happening. I will file a formal complaint tomorrow.

  • Wanda Johnson

When I got here the wait time was 20 to 30 minutes, and it was no one in the waiting area. To be honest they skipped over my child 5 times and even though they gave her a number they said that they don't go by the number they give you. One little boy walked into a wall and they took him back before they took my child back. The registration person cleaned up the room which ain't her job. For me to check in at 5:55 and it's 7:10 that's a long ass 20 to 30 minute wait and the doctor still haven't seen her. The tech hasn't even walked in the room.

  • Whitney Hunt

Brought my son here to be seen after vomiting for four day’s straight and not eating. The lady at the front desk is rude and doesn’t want to be bothered. The nurses were amazing but the doctor saw my sons blood work and labs were not in normal range and didn’t tell us until i saw it on my chart. My child was lethargic and unable to walk by himself and they sent him home and told us to “hydrate”. The next day I took him to the egleston location and they admitted him the same night. NEVER take your kids here. Please go to another location.

  • Samantha Day

I would not recommend anyone going to this facility. The staff was very kind overall. But I had to wait with my 1 year old son, for FIVE HOURS in the waiting room. I asked every hour when my child would go back and was told they can’t give me a set time. Finally after around hour 4, they decided to finally give us an X-ray and my 1 year old had a fractured tibia. We had to wait for 5 hours with my son who essentially had a broken leg without being seen. Do not take your child here if you have an actual emergency.

  • keyan hawkins

Don’t ever bring your kid here. This is the worse hospital ever even with primary care, how we been here since 8:30am and just now leaving at 12pm. My daughter appointment was at 8:50am. This is ridiculous and I had to walk out to ask for my paperwork to leave. Dr. McFadden was tripled booked and kept apologizing because it wasn’t her mistake but Howwwwww?! The nurse was taking her precious time the only thing was good was the young lady who took the blood. I’ll be looking for a new primary care doctor

  • Sierra Key

I just had my son and was having a little crisis as far as transitioning him from breastfeeding to formula and at 12:49 on 10/25/2022 I received a call from a nurse ( I wish I knew her name I didn’t catch it) she was so sweet and sat on the phone with me answering all of my questions and breaking everything down for me to understand ! I really appreciate her as it’s been 5 years since I had my last baby ! I got off the phone feeling confident and did what she suggested and so far so good

  • Nicole Parrish

When we arrived my son had a fever of 104.4 ! We were treated immediately with fever reducer. The wait time was very minimal ! The Staff listened, and actually made you feel like they cared! We were admitted and everyone on the 3rd floor rocked Literally. All the way from the Dr to the nurses to the techs to the janitors to the cafeteria staff! Over all we had a great experience . We made an hour drive for better treatment than our local hospital and we got it! Thank you to the staff!

  • Jakub Venzke

BEWARE : Cecily Marshall and Fatima ordered a catering order for almost 700 dollars worth of food. I had to deliver it, and I do not know how much I will get until I drop it off at the end. Cecily Marshall and Fatima tipped me 0 ZERO dollars for driving up with my entire car full of food, I made the base pay only. That should be illegal and definitively speaks volumes about this place. I don’t understand why anybody would do this, we rely on tips, this is how we feed our families.

  • Jaye Watson

Absolutely beyond ridiculous wait time. I’ve never brought any of my children to an ER facility and have had to wait over 4+ hours in the waiting room and probably an additional 2 hours after getting called to the back. Understaffed and poorly managed. There should be more than one physician on duty overnight. This hospital is in the heart of the metro Atlanta. It’s ridiculous to think one physician can meet the needs/demands of the area. Still have not been called to the back.

  • nadia batts

Was in the ER the day my son head injury. They always call social services and they never agree with parents on anything at this hospital. My son had a accident at school which cause injury to his head. I asked for a ct scan. I was told that it's alot of radiation. Because doctor gave me that information I said then I would not get one. My son had a slight seizure days after. I should have got a ct-scan. Now I will find another hosptial. State owned won't give x-rays.

  • Nikki Smith

Can you give zero stars? My son broke his arm and we spent six hours in the Emergency room for them to tell us that we needed to see a Doctor. I'm not sure they even looked at the X-Ray because we were told he had two fractures when actually he only had one. The Doctors and Nurses were way more interested in making weekend plans than seeing patients. If we need an Emergency room again we will make the drive North to see physicians that care about the patients.

  • Courtney Fowler

This is the worst children hospital ever. It never fail every time I need to schedule my child an appt it’s so space out, months from now. And when you get there the wait is longer. I just had another child yesterday and was told by the to schedule an appt for Monday or Tuesday to get my newborn in. And they tell me I have to wait for next Friday. For a new born there care suppose to be treated as urgent. So what I’m suppose to do hope he’s okay til then.

  • Monae Harris

Elgeston is 20 minutes NE from here if you can please make the drive. Wait 45 minutes in the waiting room while my 1 year old ran a fever and was puking green bile , finally was sent to a room and waited another hour with nobody coming in once , no doctors or nurses. I left and went to Eggleston. Sat in waiting room for about 10 minutes went to the back and spoke with a doctor right away. It’s unfortunate this location does not take the priority of kids.

  • Craig “Life-Coach” Bailey

Would not recommend bringing your child here. Been here since 2:38am. Didn’t get seen by a doctor until 8:13am. And it’s now close to 11am and haven’t seen or heard from the doctor. Asked the nurse could they remove the IV needle that had in my daughters arm since they didn’t give her any fluids and was told that’s up to the doctor. Well at this point we just want to go and will try another hospital for care as we obviously aren’t gonna get any here.

Best thing: Dr "Who" ( that's how she pronounced it) was very pleasant and our son was given a popsicle after we saw the Dr. Worst: the wait time. We came in at just before 10pm w/ our 9 year old son and we've now been here over 3 hours. After being seen by various nurses, we finally saw the pleasant Dr. at 1am. Still here as I type this and my son is ratting the popsicle. Due to the wait time, if there is a next time, we will try somewhere else.

  • Mia Moore

The ER doctor looked at my son’s ears and throat and listened to his lungs, and said he had Covid, despite him not having any of the symptoms and experiencing symptoms of something else. She refused to run other tests. His Covid test was negative and he still wasn’t feeling well. We had to take him somewhere else in order for him to get the appropriate treatment. We shouldn’t have to go all the way to Scottish Rite to get quality care.

For some reason they REFUSE TO DRAW BLOOD AND DO FURTHER TESTING ON CERTAIN RACES OF CHILDREN ! VERY SLOW NOT CARING DONT LISTEN TO ANY CONCERNS OF THE PARENTS AT ALL SORRY HOSPITAL ! BE UP FRONT GOSSIPING WHILE LEAVING THE ROOM INTERCOM ON THIS HOSPITAL IS A COMPLETE JOKE !!! I HOPE THEY OPEN OTHER EMERGENCY ROOMS FOR OUR KIDS BECAUSE THIS IS A COMPLETE FAIL TO OUR BABIES THIS LOCATION IN GENERAL ! NASTY ATTITUDE STAFF AS WELL !

  • Courtney Pressley

I do not care what those other reviews say. I have been in GA since November of 2016. I have lost count on how many times I have been there. But everytime I go the employees there are always caring. Always get in and out the longest I have stayed up there was 5 hours only because they didn't want to send my son home not knowing what was going on with him. I love Children's and as long as my son is a child he will be going there.

  • Avryngrace Chocolatte

Besides the wait being so long, I made an appointment a month and a half ago. I confirmed (yes) my appointment through the text message they sent me. Then when I spoke with someone they said they ACCIDENTALLY canceled my appointment The day before and told me nothing will be available until Oct! I hate to do it but I'm looking for a new health care provider. They do have caring nurses but their quality is going down.

  • Makiyah Mccrary

Sat here for 5 hours no one ready my daughter X-ray. Dicta just sitting and chatting and then finally decide they finna put a splint on her hand. Still don’t know what the X-ray is. Nurse never came in and introduced herself just sat outside the room and kept asking are we okay. I had to ask for pain medicine for my daughter. My exact reason why I hate hospitals. You never get the care you need or deserve.

  • Veronica Cummings

The nurses are very rude and disrespectful. And you can hear them discussing patients but in a disrespectful way. My last 2 appts I was there over 4 hours for a PHYSICAL for my boys!!! I had to look for the nurses after the gave us a room(that we were in for an hour in a half) and nobody checked on us, explained the wait time or nothing!! When I found a nurse she was sitting down on her phone!!

  • Carol Conner (CASEY)

The wait times online said 15mins. My son and I have been here 3 hrs and have seen no doctor and the nurse Amanda didn’t even know our room was hers. All the patients coming by ambulance are adults! I thought this was a Children’s Hospital. So disappointed. My son has a severe migraine and just keeps getting pushed to the bottom of the list with adults. I can’t stand to see my child in pain.

  • PEGGY JONES

This hospital is horrible. The wait time is awful, parents and children sitting outside the ER in a hallway because it’s over capacity. Not one nurse sprayed disinfectant spray, every child and baby were coughing up a storm and taking mask off (what do you expect from a baby?) I waited 5 hours just for the doctor to tell me I needed to give my son four puffs of his inhaler a day. HORRIBLE!!!!

  • Terry Garner

If you care about your child don’t go here. Son had been vomiting all night and not been able to eat or drink all day. Then his lips and cheeks started randomly swelling. After we got in the room, we waited 1.5 hours to get a dose of Benedryl. No fluids, nothing else. Then kept us waiting another 1.5 hours for discharge papers that never came. We ended up just walking out. Pathetic.

  • Shaafii KaHn

My brother has Plexus Palsy (Hand birth injury) He doesn’t have insurance and he was born outside the US. We took him to Grady Children Hospital. He was seen just by the nurses, and the financial counselor told us that his treatment couldn’t be done here because he is not from Fulton or Dekalb County. We came back and today I received a bill of 1779$. Like they are kidding us!!!

  • B Janik

Just wanted to know if there was an object up our child's nose. Ended up becoming a life and death situation due to staff incompetence and malpractice. Frankly this instance has made us question everything about the medical establishment. Worst part is the actions that led to our child's pain and suffering seemed deliberate, for profit. Scariest experience of my life.

  • Chelsea Starnes

Terrible, terrible experience. Waited 6 hours with a 2 month old… never helped and were left in a triage room. We had to ask for a charge nurse to get help to check our daughter’s vitals.. finally we decided to leave after all that time. VERY unprofessional staff. So disappointed. CHOA is supposed to be a safe place to take your child… not a place to feel neglected.

  • Mantellis Byrd

The staff is good, once they get there. I have had a couple of emergency visits during the night and always have to wait until after 7 am to be seen. Super expensive too. $2300 to rinse out 1 ear because my son complained of an ear ache. Luckily I had insurance, it dropped to $1200. So when changing the patient it's way higher than it should be? Rip off at it's best

  • faze nextis

I was born and raised in atlanta. So my whole child hood i came to here. I always had problems with this hospital. My son was misdiagnosed on having acute chest and was air lifted to Scottish Rite. I make sure All my appointments are in the am and I be there on time. Today it tooks 2 1/2 hours for them to call me at 11:30 am for a 9:30am appointment. I am livid!!!

  • Olivia Sky

They just don’t care! It’s sad to say but they honestly do not care. You do not want to visit this childrens hospital. I’m telling you from experience. I felt unsafe it was a man in there yelling and cussing at staff. Because they really do treat you like just a number. They don’t care about the well being of your child. THIS PLACE should be shut down.

  • Lu Lynda

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, NASTY AND DISRESPECTFUL STAFF, UNORGANIZED. I made an appointment for my son in March for September. I called today to confirm and they said they cancelled my appointment WITHOUT LETTING ME KNOW!! claim they sent a letter and phone call THEY DIDNT!! I have to wait ANOTHER 5 MONTHS DIRTY AND UNORGANIZED THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN!!

  • Erica Shepherd

I wouldn’t give 1 star …. Horrible service!!!!!! Waited 5 hours. Staff walking around chatting and standing around drinking or on their phones. One of the employees stated it was one doctor at the moment which is causing the hold up! Absolutely ridiculous when you have a waiting area full of sick/ crying children!!!

  • betty smith

Fir a hospital it is so dirty . They walk around with a dust mark no disinfect. I feel sick just walking into the waiting room. Already been sitting for 1 hour and no one call to even take her temperature. Their is no separation for COVID or no COVID. Everybody sit together no social distance. You feel closed in.

  • Jasmin gates

They have absolutely NOTHING on egleston. It’s literally like day and night for them to be the same network . I’ve been here for 2 hours and still Haven’t seen a doctor, the parking staff makes you park somewhere else and walk with sick children back to the facility. Lol & The hospital staff is lazy as ever .

  • Deseri' Murphy

The staff is absolutely horrible the MD at adolescence clinic is the main issue the nurses are caring but this dr needs to go back to school and learn about bedside manner. She was arguing with me about the diagnosis given to my son when he obviously wasnt born with the issue and the diagnosis is one that is.

  • MJ Parker

Floored that a physical w/ required shots (2) cost a whooping one thousand dollars?! And I have full coverage insurance for myself and child! I'm out of pocket nearly $500, could've paid $35 or at most $95 at most other healthcare facilities. Plus to add insult to injury, waited hours for anyone to see us...

  • Dynasty Troutman

I came here twice this week for symptoms I was still facing after a low voltage shock in my home. The staff was nothing short of amazing, very friendly and caring and they really took their time with me to figure out what was wrong with me and what treatment I needed. I definitely recommend this hospital.

  • Justin Burton

The clinical staff was very nice, but they had us wait in a tiny room for 4 hours, asked us repetitive questions. All the while my daughter was extremely restless, and they had no books or anything in the room. They could have let us know beforehand, and I would have brought more things to keep her busy.

  • kiki way

Valet took my keys home and the security was talking to me like I was wrong. It’s burning up hot outside, my baby had just gotten shots he was crying for 45 minutes. Once my keys arrived they was not giving me a chance to get my baby in the car properly. Security said he doesn’t deal with angry people.

  • Brenda Mondragon

PLEASE STOP APPLYING IF YOU GENUINELY DONT ENJOY "HELPING/SAVING" THE KIDS!! IF YOUR NOT PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WORK YOU DO FIND A NEW JOB!! Its getting ridiculous out here frfr. And to some of you moms as well you got to control your kids and not be letting them run around like maniacs. Do better staff!

  • Crystal Kimble

It gained me great experience for my own personal knowledge of the healthcare industry and looks great on resume (if I were still in this industry) But getting let go from this job was the best thing that EVER happened to me! Been self employed ever since! Thanks HR...YOU ARE MUCH appreciated!

  • S L

Thorough, friendly and very patient. From The welcome to security, triage, nurse, resident and attending .. every single encounter was pleasant. As a concerned new parent; i really appreciate the operations and obvious care every member of your team showed while taking care of my son. Thanks.

  • Devyn Green

Their wait time is insane! I bought my child in at 3a and was not seen by a doctor until almost 8a. The nurses have no sense of urgency as well. I would love to know why during the kick of cold and flu season you have only two doctors on overnight duty! Ridiculous is an understatement.

  • keyonna travis

I brought my baby boy in on a Friday night and we were called to the back maybe less then 5 minutes they saw what was wrong right away and treated him. They listen to every word and detail about my son and my concerns. I will definitely recommend this hospital. The staff was amazing!

  • Shayla Wells

Their primary care physician members who answers the phone are terrible, rude, & not helpful at all. They hate answering simple questions, and I really liked the primary care. They need to change their appointment schedulers with people who actually care to help families & kids!

  • Ryan Brown

I am here now. I came in at 12:01am; it’s 4am and still haven’t seen a Dr… everyone is at the Nurse Station on their phone… this is ridiculous… definitely contacting the News these hospitals need to be investigated… these reviews are very telling… the lobby is filthy, too.

  • Melissa Colvin

We had a great experience here today. Annie Pope was my daughter’s nurse and Nashayla Davis was the resident Dr. I appreciate how much they went above and beyond to make my daughter feel comfortable and Annie Pope is the absolute perfect nurse to be attending to teenagers!

  • ANDRE WHITE

Here at the hospital with my son, waiting in the room for 3 hours, while 10 staff sit and talk. Still waiting on the nurse thats been on lunch. The waiting room is empty and all staff in the back are killing time, while the ladies in the lobby are the only ones working.

  • Marita Hill

I've been in this waiting room TWO HOURS with a 9 month old. Everyone else I saw when I first got here is gone. The staff members are nice but this is unacceptable. NEVER COMING BACK HERE. Don't come here if your child has a life threatening emergency. HORRIBLE!!!

  • beau ayilola

For it to be an emergency room wait time is ridiculous been here with ny crying sick daughter since 3:45 am and it is now 8:45am if not because of ny daught I would of left this is atrocious they better send the bill to their waiting room …

  • Jennifer Harrelson

Poor care and disorganized. The staff will settle on a treatment, say they're coming right back to the room with medication or whatever and disappear for two hours. When you mention this and tell them you'd like to take your child home now,

  • Kenyatta Stevenson

I arrived at the ER at 5:40am due to my son having a fever of 103.7.. I went to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta website to see the wait times and out of all the ER’s this location had the shortest wait time and I see why.. getting back

  • Lisa Jones

If I could rate this place a negative, I would. First, the absolute worst place. I just left CHOA and I am extremely upset. I was there this evening for my sons broken finger, BAD decision. They decided to give my son hydrocodone for pain.

  • Crystal Casey

Unfortunately, our first and only trip to the Hughes Spalding location was very trying and frustrating. My daughter finger got caught in a metal gate at Six Flags over GA. We went to the Hughes Spalding location because it was a bit closer

  • Spring Morris

This was my first time at this location. My son and I had a pleasant experience. Everyone was nice, polite, and respectful. The wait time was great! We was in and out in 2 hrs. Thank you CHOA and all staff for your dedication and hard work!

  • EricBchoppin

Terrible Hospital! They didnt let us know about an upcoming appointment and my son ran out of medicine and they wouldnt even give us emergency meds in the meantime but they didnt forget to contact walgreens and stop the refill on the meds

  • Denise Bandini

The nurses and doctors were great. They all treated us with respect and were very thorough and knowledgeable. Tadiya, a nurse at the desk, was very kind and gave us coffee for our long way home at 4am. Very kind and compassionate.

  • miracle shoetique

Do not come here! You’ve been warned spent 5 hours in the ER with my daughter for a sprained ankle. The doctors just sit around and chat. No one gets up at all until you go to the desk to ask what’s going on! Horrible experience.

  • Hussain A

I called 3 times trying to reschedule an appt for my child and I got hung up on 3 times! The front desk attendants that book appts don't want to do their job! They need to be replaced with one who has some mercy for children.

  • Michelle-Antoinette

They have a 10-day turnaround period for doctors signing off on treatment plans for therapeutic services. Meaning, children receiving primary care here have a minimum 10 day lapse without therapeutic/ancillary services.

  • Brianna Herrera

THE GOD AWFUL WORST !!!!!!! Omg ! Horrible wait is awful and staff is rude !! Don’t care about your child and when you ask questions they don’t have an answer … do not walk away from here RUN AS FAST AS YOU CANNN!!!!

  • lashonda stewart

I have faced racial discrimination numerous times at this hospital the nurses do not give you good information to take care of your children till you anything and have you waiting with no information

  • kyren house

The nurses are rude and don’t give any wait times. I have been at the ER since 3am and child has a 102fever and still in the waiting room for 3 1/2 hours. Horrible hospital needs better service!

  • erika mckenzie

Worst place to bring your kids waited over 4hrs to go back and then waited another 5hrs for a doctor. Then they see you how they fill fit is important to them doesn’t matter who comes first.

  • sandra mukendi

Wish I could give 0. No sense of customer service or urgency!! They will late you wait 4-6 hours at urgent care and it doesn’t matter if the waiting room is empty or packed. Very super slow

  • William White IV

I took my daughter to the Doctor today it is 12:15 a.m we have been here about a hour still have not seen the Dr they are so worried about insurance more so than patient care.

  • Jared Alcantara

I been here 2 times already and the front desk, nurses and staff are super friendly. The nurses & Doctors always treat my child with Care.

  • Z

No long wait & Everyone was amazing from front desk to discharge. Caring & informative. Thank you all so much.

  • Krystal Greene

They always take 5-6 hours to finish seeing your child, only to misdiagnose them or not diagnose them at all.

  • latasha martin

Arrived at 11 am and it is now 8:30 pm...I was here the entire day and I don't think they helped at all..

  • Norjuan Parks

Service was fast staff were nice and helpful! Thank you all

  • Zipporah Sudds

Tells lies about transportation and extensive wait time.
