Came in about 7:30pm, ordered the 6.99 special with the soup. Egg drop was about gone and the lady filled the cup half way, it looked cold. I asked if they were going to make more and she said no because they're going to close at 8:30pm. So I asked for the wonton soup, in which I waited a few minutes while they finished preparing it. When I opened it, it had only 2 wontons in it. When I took it back to the counter, I saw they had put fresh egg drop soup, so I asked for that instead. The lady shouted to some one in the kitchen in their language then told me rudely she was asking the manager if it's ok to change it since I had "asked so many times". I told her it was my 2nd request and she said it was my 3rd and proceeded to argue with me about it. I told her I was a regular customer there and she shouldn't be so rude, but because of her rudeness they lost a customer. She continued to be loud so I took my order to go. The food ended up being cold and the chow mein tasted like spaghetti noodles with a bland flavor. I'm not sure how they get an A rating unless they're paying off the inspector. I do not recommend this place.save your money and go somewhere else!

In the area and i felt like eating chinese food but i realized i always go to the same panda express nearby. Theres a nice chinese buffet nearby that i like but i dont feel like dealing with a buffet. I have seen this place a couple of times so i decide to look it up. Reviews are....pretty negative as you can see, with the common thread being their delivery sucks. Being someone who likes to judge for himself and also only having 7 bucks, i head over. Get half n half, despite the "fried rice" being bright orange. Orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, and coconut(or honey) shrimp. Well.... At least the Coca Cola was outstanding. The chow mein was bland and unenjoyable. Fried rice was ok but not great. Teriyaki chicken was decent enough but with a weird aftertaste. Orange chicken and shrimp were good but flavor was passing. Overall, i would still come here if i only had 7 bucks and wanted chinese and good canned soda.

I only stopped here because I was next door and my toddler loves chow/lo mein so I decided to grab her some for dinner. I hadn't planned on getting anything for myself but I decided last minute that the chicken Kung Pao looked good. Man, I'm so glad I changed my mind. Most buffet style Chinese places make "spicy" dishes like this pretty bland in case some idiot doesn't know it's supposed to be spicy so I was pleasantly surprised that it actually had a bite to it. I still wouldn't call it spicy but I know my tolerance is much higher than most people and I just appreciated the small amount it had. The noodles are extremely bland but since I like the sauce from my dish so much it wasn't a big deal. I just mixed everything after my kid was done eating. Service was quick and friendly.

Gratefully and truly love stopping at this location on my way home from daily routines; I had even WALTED in 40 minutes before opening and I believe the owner/chef allowed me to still AT LEAST purchase some soup since all of the food has not been prepped and cooked yet. ‘Twas perfect timing since I was thinking about solid food…but I was truly FEELING mushroom and egg soup half half lol. ❤️

I like this place and I like the operators. This neighborhood Chinese Restaurant intentionally has very basic lunch and dinner menus with the idea being fresh and fast counter service and take out. After the lunch rush, the native Chinese speakers can be found prepping fresh vegetables for the dinner rush. There is obvious attention to detail and concern about the quality of the meals served here and the serving area is spotless. Excellent value. Basic menu with healthy meals. If you are looking for gourmet Chinese cuisine there are plenty of higher end places in town for that kind of experience. This is a strip mall location that serves busy professionals and local families.

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY!!!!!! Ordered delivery, 4 chicken dishes and 3 orders of egg rolls. They said it would be about 45 mins to an hour. That's understandable with having to cook everything. It's been over 1.5 hours. Called to see where our order is, and they said the food was on the way. It only takes about 10-15 mins to get from my place to there. They barely understand English and they are hard to understand on the phone. While I enjoy the food there, I will NEVER be getting food delivered from there again.

  • Janet Justiss

If I could put 0 stars I would. I ordered for delivery and the man on the phone was BEYOND rude. When my food got to my apartment complex the delivery guy couldn't find my apartment, and it's not a complicated complex to figure out. I had to leave my apartment to go find him. The food was not good, nothing special. I ordered 2 different kinds of chicken and the two were EXACTLY the same except they threw some seeds on one of them. I will never waste my money or time at this place again.

I was here last night. It was nice, clean and cozy place, the cashier was so friendly. I ordered plate with rice, mushroom chicken, chicken teriyaki, chicken wings and soup. It was good and fresh. Atmosphere is look like old but they are so fast and no waiting time. Price was reasonable. The only issue I saw was no service for bathroom. I asked cashier " may I use the bathroom? " she said bathroom is closed which is not acceptable for dine In. But generally it worth. I go with 4 star.

Just happened to be in town and found this place. The noodles were bland. No flavor at all. The orange chicken was more crust than chicken. This store does not sell broccoli beef. Only Broccoli chicken. I came in around noon and they did not have teriyaki chicken ready. When it finally came out it was skinless chicken pieces with sauce mixed in. Not the traditional chicken thigh with skin cut in front of you. To top it off they don't have teriyaki sauce to go.

4/5... with a price being that low, you know what you’re expecting. In all honesty the food was pretty tasty, we ordered the family meal for 33.59, and plenty left over for a few more rounds. The fried rice and noodles are not bad, just bland. If you mix it up with your food or toss some sauce on it then problem solved. I have no issues and we will be ordering from here again. Also, the fried donuts... freshly made and warm. Yep I can eat those all day.

THEY STOLE FROM ME I ordered 2 cominations at 6.50 each, with a 2 dollar delivery fee. With tax the total came out to 16.04. My receipt says 16.04 but according to the bank they took 18.04. So I called and asked why that was and they told me that I had wrote in a $2 tip on the receipt. Which I didnt. So I informed them that thier driver was stealing from us and lying to them, they literally told me to, and I quote, "F*** off and never call again".

  • Henrik Csűri

Both the hot and sour soup and chicken fried rice were horrible. The chicken fried rice was pretty much a box or rice with some little pieces of chicken sprinkled over it. Not to mention they don't allow the use of the restroom because of Covid, but the whole point of using it so someone could wash their hands cutting down on spreading germs/viruses

This place is the mother of Chinese food in San Diego. Good tasting food, I even went there when they were about to close and the food was still good! I would go again and again and again. I’ve tried multiple Chinese until I stopped looking for a good tasting one. Someone referred me to China express, and I found the best Chinese in San Diego!!!

Don't order for delivery! Took almost 2 hours to get my food and the driver made me walk around trying to find him and he was at a totally different apartment complex ( I noted I was in a specific apartment complex in my order) my food was cold and soggy and I had to lug it by foot all the way back to my apartments... Ive ordered many different places and never had an issue with them finding my place super frustrating!

10/22 4 years later , It’s pure magic, the Scallion Pork will have your eyes watering with bliss, then you bite into the Spicy Chicken and wonder how that panda place is still in business? I eat here every day now, life is too short to settle for anything less. 1/18 So much VALUE! 3 items and soda $6.49?!! Spicy chicken is slammin, lo mein isn’t greasy, large portions, really impressive. Rating should be much higher.

  • Denice Ornelaz-Perez

Stumbled on this place while getting my sons food at another place in the same strip mall. I should have looked up reviews in advance. The food was awful! Everything was extremely bland. King Paolo chicken had no spice. Fried rice had an odd yellow color and no flavor. I was very disappointed. I don't live in town so never going there again will not be a problem.

  • Manuel Magallon

Dare I say it's better than Panda Express.... price range and quality. The staff is really nice, if it's a slow day there chilling sitting at the tables using their phones. But that doesn't take away on how great their food is. They're 6.99 3 item meal is a steal. You got three entrees one side and either a soup or a soda. Highly recommended

  • Riley LaRock

Really fast service, healthy menu options, and amazing prices. The food was really tasty and well made (I chose the spicy chicken and teriyaki chicken). They have a great combo deal where you can get a 3 entree plate, a side order, and soup or a can of soda for $8.79. That's a great deal for a full meal with a side and a drink.

  • Josh Shelby

Skip Panda just down the street and hit this place up instead. This mom & pop Chinese place has a good selection right up front but also has a decent menu to order from as well. The spicy chicken is easily my favorite.

I completely agree! Way better than panda Express, potion wise, which is a big plus! Check out their daily lunch special. The flavor is AMAZING! The staff is really friendly and the service is quick. Sucked they had to close for covid, if they're open again or when they open check them out!!!

  • Leonard Johnson-Biddle

Far and away the most authentic "New York style" Chinese food (yes, that's a real thing) that I had in the decade I lived in San Diego. Never once had an issue with their food, though the service could be better at times. Fairly inexpensive too, just like a NY Chinese restaurant should be.

Ordered house special soup, no flavor, large mushroom & broccoli over powered the soup. Egg rolls were very greasy. Dumplings were very thick & over cooked and fried rice was orange, looked more like saffron rice and was not fried or flavorful.

  • john wilson

Horrible food. General Tso's chicken was soft and bland, tasted vile. Sweet and Sour Pork tasted like soggy bell peppers, couldn't tell if it was pork or something else. Worse cheese wontons of all time. Stay away and go somewhere else.

  • Dantata Dangote

The lady serving there was rude. Even refused to give me salt and a water container. She was like you have to buy a bottle and we do nit have salt. Yeah right, Chinese restaurants with a kitchen has no salt. Even as a condiment.

  • Duuu u

This is my favorite place! Especially their 3 items 1 side special, it’s a really steal! I also ordered their family value pack, it was good, you also can switch any other dishes in the menu to subs the dishes in the pack.

  • Tiffany Wang

This is very good place to get some chinese food. The restaurant is small but the food is delicious. Also they have the good deal for $6.99 (can get rice or noodle with 3items combo. Also come with soup or soda.)

  • Amy E. Shine

Chow mei fun and string beans consistently delicious! Got for the first time when visiting a local school two summers ago. Dug through credit/debit card statements after moving here to hunt down again! SO GOOD!

  • Scott Hagen

Great tasting dishes, chicken and beef is very tender, inexpensive and big portions! Friendly staff. Only downside is chow mein and fried rice are tasteless. Update: they now offer broccoli as a side!

  • Yasmine Jackson

Orange chicken is super unique and literally amazing! Love the teriyaki chicken too and chow mei is delicious!

Weirdest restraunt I have ever been to. Dirty, food is not that great, trash overfilled, employee was not the friendliest. Although the food is cheap....
