"Very misleading experience at the $2 validated parking lots! Visited Chinatown briefly yesterday eve for snacks and bubble tea"
"It can take more than 20 minutes to exit this parking"
"#1 Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday can be packed and the parking lot will be only accepting monthly parking; #2 you can ask for a 3 hour parking validation ticket from the Chinatown restaurants, so you only have to pay 2 bucks for maximum 3 hours parking"
"Parking is so cramped and crazy that I appreciate this lot! But it's also crazy and cramped in the lot too"
Was here on a busy Sunday, they keep letting cars in even when there is clearly have no more parking space available. Have to wait and circle around for 45+ minutes and look for other cars to leave just like street parking, that's nonsense! There were at least 15 cars were looking for an open spot at that time and no spot was available. You want to leave because there is no more parking spot right, the only wait out is to pay! Yes, you have to pay just for circling around and did not park. There is no attendant for most of the time, you need help, good luck. What is the point to pay a higher price for parking while this lot is operating like street parking?
Very misleading experience at the $2 validated parking lots! Visited Chinatown briefly yesterday eve for snacks and bubble tea. Spent about $30, then went to Joy Yee Plus to purchase our bubble tea and validate our parking. Found out that there is a $35 minimum spend at their store or they will not validate the parking! Had a similar experience with St Alps. Left Chinatown without the bubble tea and with an $11 parking fee for just over 1 hour. From what I could see none of the signs/advertising at the parking lot show the minimum spend requirement. Posted the review here to hopefully save some others the expense.
It can take more than 20 minutes to exit this parking. It takes so long that all cars get stuck with the system asking them for an extra payment! If there's not an employee providing assistance to each car trying to get out, everyone is stuck! Also, it's supposed to have a better rate if the ticket gets validated by participating restaurants. The issue is very few restaurants do...
#1 Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday can be packed and the parking lot will be only accepting monthly parking; #2 you can ask for a 3 hour parking validation ticket from the Chinatown restaurants, so you only have to pay 2 bucks for maximum 3 hours parking. #3 there are cameras so if you car got dinged or hit and no notes are left, don't hesitate to ask them for the video record
Parking is so cramped and crazy that I appreciate this lot! But it's also crazy and cramped in the lot too. So be careful when parking or what car you bring because you could get damages. Scary. I like how it's very close to China town so that's convenient. It's also nice that if you dine in China town at certain places, they can validate your parking and make it cheaper.
Nice place to park but don’t let that 2$ for 3 hours or whatever fool you. You got to spend upwards of 30$ to get a place to sign off on your ticket to get the discount. Go there but expect to pay 8$ if you stay even 40 minutes. You’re better off then spending 30$ at a place you didn’t even want to go to get the discount.
I looked at spot hero and parking was at least half a mile away and $15+, then I found China town parking lot on google. We easily found open spots on Friday evening. Restaurant we dined, validated parking ticket and we paid $2 for 3 hours of parking. This is the best and cleanest parking lot in Chicago city I believe.
Make sure to get your parking validated at one of the restaurants nearby (not including Joy Yee) and it will cost $2 to park in this very conveniently placed parking lot in Chinatown. I felt safe and I felt like my car was safe when I used this lot.
This place is a great parking option if you're in Chinatown; metered street parking is ~$2/hr & here, it's ~$3 for 3 hours of validated parking. Steal! This is also a nice big parking lot & it's never been full the many times I've visited.
You don't have a realistic other option here. As we walked past cars in the street being ticketed for not paying for street parking ( quite a few!) , there is no excuse for not using this lot. Pricy but so is a ticket.
A complete chaos. It's dirty. Needs repairs. It has dangerous holes. I worry about elderly. If they miss it, they could hurt themselves really bad. Large parking place. It has the potential to be organized better.
Convenient parking near the tourist part of Chinatown and the Metra Station. Most restaurants validate your parking to make the price only $2 for up to three hours. Best deal in Chicago IMHO.
Super easy to find and park. Get ticket validated at one of the local stores for a discounted rate. We paid $9 for about 4 hours of time on the Sunday of Chinese Lunar Parade day …
Extremely crowded and $8 parking just for 2 hours! You’re paying for convenience and some people don’t know how to park so watch out. Also there are numerous potholes in this lot!
The cheap parking prices that are advertised are only if you get your parking ticket validated at one of the restaurants nearby. I paid $11 for being there for only 2 hours.
I park here every time I visit Chinatown. The lot is usually staffed and the attendant has always been friendly. It can be busy on weekends but I can usually find a spot.
Easy to find and parking is convenient and great for those who have difficulty finding street parking. Within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and shops.
Secure, decently maintained, new machines. The patterns for cars is a bit odd and the lot can use a bit of new paint for the lines. Average pricing.
Pay parking lot. Makes for a short walk to Chinatown. Street parking can be tricky in that area. Some local businesses will validate for discount.
Safe place to park. If you shop or dine some of the restaurants and stores, will validate your receipt, and you get a better parking rate
Convenient place to park but can get expensive, if you’re eating at a restaurant nearby remember to ask for parking validation!
There's always spots open, but DO NOT LOSE your ticket. There will be a $48 fee, even if you only parked there for 30 minutes.
Close and convenient to shops and dining! Busy often, always a good stop for quick parting but pay attention to how you part!
They post $2 for 3 hrs but then fine out you need spend a certain amount at a approved place in order to get that pricing!
Very expensive $8.00 for less 30 minutes!! But the sign says$2.00 for 3 hours. Of course the place I went didn't validate.
Which restaurants validate parking??? I was at tou le jour. Uni uni and chi cafe no one validates? Why validates???
You can get a discount tickets if you dine in many restaurant at Chinatown and have a reduced parking rates here.
Great spots, very close to all the shops. It is a bit pricey, nearly 25 dollars to park for a couple hours.
Park at this location for $2 for 3 hours when visiting several dozen restaurants and shops in Chinatown!
The sign said $2 for 3 hours yet we were charged $11 for less than an hour upon leaving.
Nice convenent location but the staff we interacted was less friendly to say the least
Tight parking. Super busy. Validation must be done in one of the stores near (north).
Very reliable parking lot but during weekend or holidays parking can be very short
Remember to get your ticket validated at a Chinatown restaurant or grocery store.
The displayed parking price was $2 but was charged $11. This is daylight robbery
Charged us twice for parking. Employee was less than helpful
Don’t go over 3 hours if you’re going for the voucher
Cheap with validation, busy on some days though.
Great location but gets crowded fast
Big and can save time & money.
