Announced as the last drive-in cinema in the Latin America, Cine Drive-In is my favorite cinema in town! The atmosphere of it is amazing, have space for around 200 cars - if I'm not mistaken, it usually holds two to three movies sessions a day (less during summertime), sometimes three different movies, sometimes just two or only one - in case of a blockbuster release. The movie is projected on a screen of a considerate size, and for the sound you must have a radio on your car to turn it to the station - although they usually have a small sound amp on one corner. There is food - which is actually good, nothing amazing though. And sometimes it gets really crowded, although during the week it is mostly quiet. It only accepts cash and debit cards.
Great place to come with children. 2 movies for 28 reais is cheaper than most movie plexes. First session is usually a children's movie (dubbed in Portuguese) and second is usually one of the newer blockbusters, subtitled. Last remaining drive in theater in the world. Offers snacks and quick bites, delivered at your car (a little slow at times - best to bring something from outside).
Cine drive in is a unique experience because is the last drive in in Brazil. It's cheap and the radio system that your hear in your car works fine. In the past, they use to show to movies in sequence and you could watch both with one ticket. Lately, they have the same movie dubbed and then with subtitles. When I was there, the screen was not that shiny which bothered me a bit
It's always a pleasure! Big screen on the outdoor. Sound in your car's radio, there's food service and you can bring your chairs and seat just by your car or mattresses and lie in the car boot. Nice experience everyday
Really nice place to watch a movie with your family. Of course the image quality is nothing like the modern movie theaters but the fact that you don't have to worry about bothering others is great.
So happy the quarantine could offer me a chance to meet the Cine Drive In. It is such a magical experience that everyone should have. I love and recommend it to absolutely everyone!
Such a fun experience. Like having a private booth in a cinema where you can order guaraná and fries. Just, watch out for the rain!
