I did the 2-Hour harbor cruise & sea lion tour and had a great time. The weather was perfect, albeit a little windy but I was prepared and dressed appropriately. There is definitely lots to see on this tour, including sea lions, Navy ships, and the beautiful Coronado Bridge. Thank you for such a memorable birthday gift!
Did the 2 hour boat ride with my fam. First half was the north side the second the south! Food and drinks are available and restrooms are really clean. Do recommend dressing warm because it's really windy on the boat. Captains commentary was funny and knowledgeable.. learned alot about ships and landmarks along the bay
This is the Hornblower cruise - new name. The Captain knew how to find the whales. San Diego Natural History Museum staff onboard to assist. Clean boat, friendly staff, food & drinks available. Boat offers benches and table seating, unlike another operator with only fixed benches. Highly recommend!
The 2hr tour consists of the 1hr North harbor and 1hr South harbor tours - returning to the same dock in between. The tour was well managed and informative. Nobody checked tickets once you were on the boat so you could do the 2hr tour if you just stayed on from either of the 1hr tours.
Hornblower Cruise was fun and exciting to be there. Captain talks on the speaker that as if he is the tour guide. Captain was fun to listen to. He is also funny, made a few jokes. I didn't like the bathroom. Mostly junk food. Wish had some other healthy food. Still have good services.
Did the full San Diego bay tour. Good guide narrator and smooth trip. Sat on outer lower deck with less ocean breeze. Take a light jacket. Great drinks and super-friendly staff. Got fantastic sunset bay and dusk city pics. Highly recommended. Great for kids too!!
We were able to take a whale watching tour on the first day of the season and it was OUTSTANDING! My expectations were pretty low and figured we wouldn’t see any whales but instead, we saw about a dozen in the open water and even got to see
Really was an amazing experience! So easy to board, they took my girlfriend and I’s photo by the boat ( have to pay later but worth it!) staff was so nice and they did such a good job giving you a super fun tour of the harbor and everything
It was a great tour despite not seeing a whale.(which we got a whale check pass to come back). The captain and captain assistant did a great job narrating. Plenty of info on the sights of San Diego harbor. There was enough to see that it
Whale watching did not disappoint! We saw hundreds of dolphins (that swarmed the boat) and many gray whales. The staff worked to navigate the waters to get to an area where we would be most likely to spot whales, which proved to be a bit
Lovely boat, but “whale watching” isn’t a good name- especially as the volunteers said orcas will keep the whales away, or rare in the area for a while. One of the docents said they had not seen one since Christmas. I should have noticed
The whale watching journey was so magical. Even living here, I just didn’t realize that I could whale watch 10 minutes from home. The San Diego Natural History Museum Volunteers were amazing to listen to their whale knowledge and ask any
Friendly and informative crew. It was a history lesson as well as an AMAZING whale watch. We loved the ease of ordering cocktails and snacks. We saw 3 whales, a HUGE pod of dolphins and even saw Air Force One at the base. Sea Lions are
We took the two hour cruise of the bay on October 8, 2019. We booked our cruise and paid for a picture online about a month ago. Our boarding passes and picture coupon were waiting for us at the ticket booth when we arrived. The whole
Had so much fun. Drinks and snacks on board the three level ship. We sailed out of the harbor where we seen dalpins swimming right beside us. While we where about 2 hours in the Pacific we had a whale sighting. Definitely recommend.
I purchased a groupon ticket for myself and bought children’s tickets online through the Hornblower website for my two kids for the two hour cruise. The first part of the tour takes you around the harbor then returns to dock before
We had the BEST day on this Whale & Dolphin excursion! The entire crew were very friendly and welcoming! Our Captain Mike had the best personality. He was very funny, professional and respectful to these mammals! …
Got an excellent view of a grey whale as we were nearing the end of our (4hr) tour which rounded it off nicely. Even without that we saw plenty of wildlife and some great views of the skyline, naval base and USS Midway.
My boyfriend and I had an amazing time on this cruise! Even though we were bummed that our original tour was cancelled because of ship maintenance, the company communicated properly and were able to rebook quickly.
