I got a verbal quote at first $315 including discounts (driving for Uber) as a full package if I had the car diagnosis and work done at their shop. I was satisfied with that deal. later on after diagnosis, the owner said they will charge me $70 for diagnosis, while carrying out the work tomorrow which will cost $300 instead of $360 as a discount and the diagnosis wont be within the package as told first by the other guy who gave me a verbal quote. All in all it will cost me $370 instead of the quote I agreed on firstly which was $315.. after I have already approved running the diagnosis at their shop. Would not recommend going over there, expect different quotes and silly excuses ..if not try to confirm with the owner as apparently they were not on the same page, not to mention the first guy who gave me the quote (James) never showed up again to face me with the owner silly excuses for changing the quote. After I disagreed with the extra quote (I have paid for the diagnosis even though I shouldn't), the owner wasn't any nice at all..he told me "I have other customers to look for, have a good day). Seriously!!

I give my fullest recommendation to Abdo at City South Automotive. The reasons: 1) He's the most honest auto mechanic I have ever met. He gives you a detailed analysis of the problem, your options for fixing it including price and efficacy, and his recommendation. He doesn't push for the most expensive choice nor does he include unnecessary work. I always go with his recommendation because he is invariably correct. Nevertheless, if you should like another option, he will follow your instructions to the letter. 2) He is knowledgeable and skilled. His work is first rate. 3) His time appreciation is flawless. When he says the work will be done, it is done. 4) He is courteous. He's always willing to help out with a ride whenever he can. He is also willing to take the time to answer all questions about the work at hand or any kind of general auto maintenance. People like Abdo don't come around too often. I just had an AMAZING experience at City South Automotive - I'm a musician from Manitoba and had a CV joint fail during the middle of a tour. I only had one day to get the job done before carrying on the the next city, and not only were they able to source the parts same-day, they discovered a bigger issue of a torn ball-joint boot that could have been a dangerous scenario, especially heading into the mountains in a few days. The work of BOTH jobs was done within a few hours, with every step carefully explained and shown to me, to a total cost equaling less than what the dealership had quoted for the CV joint replacement alone. I wish that these folks would open shop in Winnipeg, I would be a dutiful customer. Thank you for your thorough, cheerful, and fairly-priced service!

City South Auto ordered and installed new struts on my 07 Tacoma. The right side strut was installed incorrectly. No warranty was provided even though the ensuing damage was due to the bushing being installed upside down along the strut. Horrible customer service and lack of know how from this dirty hole in the wall mess of a mechanic shop. DO NOT BRING YOUR VEHICLES TO THIS SHOP!! I brought my tacoma in for a mock out of province inspection prior to importing back to BC. They missed a ton of work that had to be done. Brakes had to be re-done as they missed a leaking axle seal that contaminated my brakes. AGAIN, THIS IS THE WORST SHOP IVE EVER BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO! You're better off at Canadian Tire in-fact.

Brought in a Toyota Tundra because it went into limp mode and got stuck at 40km/h because of a air pump failure. I knew it was going to be a big job. City South Automotive did their diagnostics and found out it was actually a 2007-2010 Toyota Tundra / Sequoia warranty issue that got extended to 10 years, 150000 miles. They personally phoned Gateway Toyota for me to ensure it was covered warranty. I brought the Tundra to Toyota and they covered it without question! Free! City South Automotive saved me $3000. Parts alone were close to $1200. This could have easily been a big job for them. These guys are the best and most honest mechanics in Edmonton. I will always be back! Thanks again you guys!

I just left with my car and it feels and sounds new. I am very picky and knowlagble when it comes to my car and I am totally impressed. I would not hesitate to recommend James and his team. I never write reviews but I feel I have too. I usually only go to the dealership but I have found my mechanic. He is honest, fair, understanding and he has very good rates. Today December 06,2018 for oil changing. I told them clearly i need the regular oil changing. The guy who is the owner told me . it cost $49.99 for the regular oil changed. When i went to pick up the car, he charged $69.29 by saying they used special oil. After oil change, they could re-set the engine warning light off, but they don't, the guy even don't know the engine warning light need to be re-set . He asked me to bring the car in and then he can check what is the problem with the car. Basically he wants to charge more money for no doing the work. i think they don't deserve to get one star at all .

I have taken my car to James for a couple years now and he and the crew at city south have always done superb work. Everyone is friendly, and the expertise and knowledge they lend is excellent. I took my car into my manufacturer for a quote on a sensor replacement, and they asked for 2x the price city south offered. City south was honest with me through the process and saved me over 300$ that the Hyundai dealership tried to scam out of me. My car has never run better, and I won't be taking my car anywhere else. 5 star service! I took my sprinter van to City South for some repairs and was incredibly happy with the service and quality of work. Abdo is a highly professional mechanic. He is very good with his time and his hourly rate is reasonable. I have used their services on many occassions and have always felt confident the job was done right. Because I have used their services for a few years now, it has been a pleasure watching the growth of the company. The recent addition of a top of the line wheel alignment machine shows me the company is serious about what they do. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing the services of a great mechanic.

Both guys are great to deal with, honest and frank about repairs and looking out for your personal pocket book as well. They are not there to up-sell or tell you that you need things done on your vehicle that don't need to be done--rare to find mechanics these days that care about your vehicle as if it's their own! Abdo and Lorraine are professional, warm, and honest people. Had my wheel alignment done by Abdo after getting into a car accident and am really impressed by how well the work was done, as well as how quick he did it. Started getting my regular oil changes done here too and Abdo was able to catch that my wheel bearings were loose while doing my oil change. Prices are extremely fair for quality, skill and efficiency.

I had a very positive experience here they are both very friendly straight forward people. I had my steering coupler and my tires done. Lori who is out front made me feel comfortable in the office while I waited and abdo was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me that my vehicle required. Was having problems with my car that I took to a different mechanic...called them and gentleman on the phone was very kind to help me with problem and I've never gone to them before. Called Millwoods Auto, and I took my vehicle to them lots and they wouldn't help me. "We'd have to look at it" BLAH. Never going to millwoods auto again. Might have to visit City South next time

I did some work to try and fix my DRL problem but they still didn't work for some reason. Came here and although he couldn't pinpoint the problem, he still didn't charge me even though he had been working on it most of the day. Unreal, the work he has done for me in the past was also extremely good, very fast, and the price will not be beat, I know that. Awesome service!

The previous owner was good, but I could not say the same about the new management. My van's problem was misdiagnosed, I paid for the repair, but went home with the same problem. They knew that what they replaced did not fix the problem but would not own up for the mistake they did. Sorry, but I would not go back to these guys and would never recommend them to anyone.

Came here to get my struts done. My car feels fantastic, and for a bit cheaper then most other places I phoned. Few months later I came back for a rad flush. Heat wasn't coming out as much as it should have after the flush, so I took it back and James fixed the problem for me completely free. Service is always friendly!
