When I moved into this area a decade ago, it was pretty nice, I liked it here. Now, I hate it. It's now overcrowded. Can't park nor navigate the streets because of over crowded skinny roads, chicanes, yellow painted lines that should have been removed & development with 3 double story houses where there was one. From open sky to no view in a direction, bar someones toilet window. There is no room on the street to park because of the gap between driveways is too tiny for some & their cars have to park on different streets. Workers, cement trucks, noise, dust, trucks early every morning for years because its never ending, so forever more cars & less parks. All in a place where signs say "don't park opposite each other" on a road with chicanes.

I’ve purchased a home within the Marion council for almost 2 years. Every concerns, reports I’ve placed has been handled immediately and professionally with a smile. The regular people that upkeeps the grass and trees at Kenton reserve are all so lovely as well, Tim in specific great bloke. Also Shayne, who has been patient and always pleasant with assisting us with capture of 31 cats to date. The 2 lovely ladies I bumped into reviewing the park Renee and Rebecca, who’d given their precious time to discuss and answer some queries. Last but not least, the customer service consultants that that I speak to are so easy and a pleasure to deal with. Keep up the great work Marion Council, you make living in this area even better. Thank you

The council has been undertaking roadworks directly outside our home. Very little communication. We were not allowed to use our driveway for over a week and had to park on the street 5 minutes away. We asked for help from the council and were promised assistance that they never followed through on. Every time we leave our house the workers tell us off for being in a work zone. They yell. They play loud music. They use our water without asking and leave the tap on. This was supposed to be an environmentally friendly upgrade and so far they have only planted introduced species and laid a bunch of concrete. It’s been an absolute nightmare and I can’t wait to leave this area.

When following up with this council in a section 270 review they falsify statements to suit their needs, do not meet deadlines and then divert the blame to others. Disregard information provided to them from professionals, while using terminology that deceived individuals. While in a meeting with Kate she states that they keep councillors “at a arms distance” as a sign of disrespect to councillors. I highly encourage anyone with a issue with this council to seek advice from professionals, friends or family as they will lie and deceive at any given opportunity. During this entire process I would like to thank Councillor Telfer for her honesty and professionalism.

Worst council to deal with. Put a concern 10 days ago about road hazards, trucks blocking school drop offs outside a primary school hours also there are signs saying no parking, council informed me that the road traffic team will go down a speak with them called again today to tell council the same trucks are blocking the street, the council didn't even know what I was talking about previously and refused to do anything about it. Someone will get hurt or worse because parents can't see past the trucks. That's another issue for the council. You have a responsibility to your local areas.

Have been dealing with a barking dog complaint for five months now. No feedback from council no response. No nothing dog is literally going non-stop and yet nothing has been done and we are in the lurch. Absolute pathetic Always excuses, we will get in contact contact you before end of day. Our business hours are nine till five however between 9 to 5 there is no available agent to speak to about the matter. No return phone call No emails and no phone numbers to contact 6/11/23 Since last post had to call yet again and am still awaiting an email to send info in regards to my matter.

The level of incompetence from this council and their disregard for the SA road rules is beyond amazing! Incorrectly placed street signage in violation of the SA road signage standards, ignorance, and refusal to return multiple letters, emails, and phone calls in regards to this. Miraculously when this was pointed out to be non-compliant with the road traffic standards, the signs were mysteriously and quietly changed to be “compliant”.. but the council denies doing this. Yeah, I believe in coincidences and unicorns too. 1/10 Marion Council. You need to do better.

After nearly 3 years of complaints to the council regarding illegal parking and speeding in front of a school the best the council can do is complete concerns via an message to your phone claiming they have resolved the complaint even though they have done nothing of significance to resolve any of these concerns. I can only hope now that the ombudsman can do something to get the council off their heated seats!!!

  • John Trembath

Reported a dangerous road condition where the council have located a parking zone on a curve with a solid white line in the middle of the road. Clearly a violation of SA road rules as there is not a 3m space between a parked vehicle and the solid line. Have had several near misses. Reported the situation a month ago via email. Not even a reply from the council. Very poor customer relations.

I received a parking fine for parking out the front of my own house. I had three quarters of my tyre on the footpath, leaving over two thirds of the footpath free. If I park on the road on my street no other cars would be able to drive down it because the road is so small. But these flops only care about money and clearly don’t use any common sense. No wonder you guys get abuse.

And yet another bureaucratic no brainer by the council I have seen lots and lots of new trees been planted around the Marion council area one big problem the trees will obstruct motorist views at Tee junction’s and drive ways. clearly don’t use any common sense Let me come and work for you The money should have been spent on fixing the roads a footpaths.

  • Margaret Steventon

If you are unfortunate enough to trip and fall on the councils uneven footpaths don't expect any care from the Marion council. To my disappointment they also changed the date and house no where I fell No wanting to know if you are ok Still have shoulder pain after several weeks . Very disappointed. A few yellow dots put around and a bit of asphalt put in

  • Sue B

Planted a deciduous tree on our verge where we have a beautiful lawn. ( that we paid for and installed irrigation), did not consult with us and now told we will be fined if we remove the tree. To say we are furious is an understatement. Now we are going to have to deal with all this leaf fall and mess.

  • Mazzy Bell Poray

Walked with an empty coffee cup from the corner of South Rd and Daws Rd (east side) all the way nearly to Castle Plaza, and could not see a single rubbish bin! Not even at any of the bus stops. Had to use a bin at one of the shops I visited. Very inconvenient and annoying.

  • Konrad

Con, the senior engineer, is absolutely excellent to deal with. Always returns calls, and is readily accessible. This is the best Council to deal with with respect to contact with the engineering requirement for development within the Council.

  • Ros Elson

Reported 2 very large dogs over the back fence. Broke the fence trying to get through to attack my spoodle. Just moved here on the 1st October. Have sent 2 emails with photos. BUT HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM. What do we pay our rates for.

  • Justin Bradstreet

Called before 5pm, went via their long winded IVR to be on hold for ages before getting a sudden "goodbye" automated message. Poor. If people are in the queue, you should clear the queues, simple business acumen to understand that.

  • Senior

Pulled over side of road to answer emergency call, council inspector fined me while sitting in car, he was very rude, selfish & money starving showing off with his junior, believe he has oblivious conditions

  • SHEN griffin

The council rate is very high in the city of Marion, could you please just consider planting more trees in Clovelly Park. Why should we pay for the project called 'Turning Edwardstown from grey to green'?

  • Alison Offler

Called them to remove a branch off the front lawn and ten minutes later a team of men arrived and not only removed the branch but pruned the tree. Amazing service. This was a council tree. …

  • luisa Zavagnin

A big thank you to Cindy & the other people at the Council for helping with attaining a new rubbish bin after my had been stolen. Very helpful & friendly, great customer service. Thanks

  • peter taylor

Hello does anybody work here??? Ive rang 3 times during the week and been on hold almost 20 minutes each time before hanging up. Sent an email 3 weeks ago, still waiting on a response.

  • Sharka Crew

Typical useless council that abuses it's power . And walks over the little guy . If they cared for the community as much as there wallets this would be a nice area to live

  • Aggie Gradziel

Unprofessional and very rude staff. They only care about parking fine revenue and making money. Team Leader Community Safety did not want to help and was very unpleasant.

  • Koral Parker

So much for wellness & ageing services. No one rings you back when you make a request. I think some staff in this area are incompetent and it's so annoying. …

  • Pauline Newman

An impressive council zone to work with. The staff are very friendly and polite. And go above and beyond to make sure they help you whenever possible.

  • Simon
