5 stars doesnt do justice for the level of care this place gave to my dogs. The vet techs were so friendly to both me and my dogs from the moment we walked in the door. I had just moved to Fort Worth and needed to find a new vet. I loved my previous vet office so was dreading having to find a new place to trust my pups that mean the world to me with. But this office exceeded my expectations. Their annual visit went great. I didnt have to wait really at all. Coco and Tex were nervous as always, but they did everything they could to make it the least stressful they could for them. The vet, Dr. Johnson, was thorough in the exam and listened to any concerns i had. He was so calm and gentle with my pups. The vet tech took time to show me the dog joint supplements my dog would need, which were very reasonably priced here. My dog, Coco, also had a dental cleaning here a few days ago and that went great too. I could tell they treated my sweet pup as if he were their own. The vet did a fantastic job cleaning his teeth, removing the lump in his mouth and removing any teeth that needed it as well as keeping me in the loop on what was going on. I dont feel like they recommended anything unnecessary, I trusted everything they had to say. When i picked Coco up everyone was so kind and told me how much they loved having him there. The vet came out and explained how everything went and showed me his dental xrays(which i found really interesting to see). It was so nice for Dr. Johnson to take time to do that. The prices were reasonable and i always knew around what things would cost, although i do always make sure i have a bit more than the estimate in-case any unforseable things show up. But their estimate was spot-on. Im so glad i found them and will definitely continue to come here with my pups. I do really feel the vet techs and Dr. Johnson went above and beyond during both the annual exams and dental work. Keep doing the awesome job yall are doing! :-)

Dr Johnson & all the staff here are THE ABSOLUTE BEST! My little Whisper -10 yr old Angora feline fur baby, deaf from birth, & EXTREMELY picky about WHO she associates with, LOVES her Dr. Derek Johnson & his assistant Andrea, as well as ALL of the wonderful staff here. These are the most caring individuals I have ever had the pleasure to encounter in my 50+ years of parenting fur babies of both canine & feline variety. Thorough in diagnostics & successful in treatments & go above & beyond to accommodate both patient & pet "parent" in every possible way.... They worked us in as a new patient, ON A SATURDAY & consequently SAVED THE LIFE of my precious little girl (a registered support animal) with immediate treatments & medication & now a diet to maintain her health, (her issue is with her colon & her ability to have normal bowel movements stemming from an injury as an adolescent -she was extremely constipated & had stopped eating & drinking altogether). Her condition & her treatment (& all possible options) we're explained to me in terms I could understand & never once was I nor Whisper ignored even after we came home. I cannot stress enough how much these people have done for us, (my baby & me) but I feel like the words "family" & "miraculous" are appropriate. Your fur babies are in good hands here, no matter the attention needed albeit emergency illness, grooming, or preventative care & maintenance. The expense was not inappropriate or outrageous, although I'm not 1 to put a price on the life of my Whisper.. She is worth more than gold & my life is best with her in it. Thanks to Dr Derek & Andrea & everyone at City Vet that's exactly where she is, & we couldn't be happier or more grateful. I Highly Recommend!!!

This was the best vet visit we've ever had. I usually dread going into the vet because I typically feel unheard and dismissed because of the diet I give my dogs. However, due to an urgent issue I had no choice but to take my baby girl in. My anxiety beforehand was so bad that I spoke to the receptionist, Taylor, about my worries over the phone and and she assured me that the doctor would not be judgmental or preachy at all; I already felt so much better just heading into the appointment. When the day of the appointment came, the tech who checked us in (Sarah) was so kind and also really listened to my concerns and made sure to pass them on to Dr. Johnson. When Dr. Johnson came in, he let me know that he had already looked into the food I had mentioned to Taylor the day before and that he didn't have any major concerns about it. Throughout our entire visit, my baby girl was spoken to softly and treated with compassion. I left feeling like Dr. Johnson was going to do everything he could to figure out what was going on with my girl and the best way to prevent it from happening again, while also showing as much respect as possible to my preferences. He was open and honest when giving treatment recommendations and did not try to push me into making any decisions. We have been hopping around from vet to vet for the past few years just trying to find the perfect fit and I think it's safe to say we have found it! I called after my dog was bit by another dog the day before. He had swelling and I became worried so I started calling around. The other 6 vets I called did not have walk in availability and referred me to emergency vets. I knew this wasn't an emergency, but I knew it wasn't fair for my pup. I called CityVet on a Friday, they were booked for the day, but somehow made time, with the exception that I may have to wait to be seen up to and hour 1/2. Of course I said yes! I was so grateful. I arrived and they managed to get my boy a room immediately and the Dr came in about 15 minutes later. He examined him, and came to the conclusion that we needed to have him sedated in order to properly clean the wound (which was through the inside of his mouth). The procedure took about an hour and we were on our way. For the hour wait, my husband and I went to Trader Joe's and the nitro ice cream place next door. It was a convenient way to kill time and my pup's swelling went down the next day. I'm so thankful and am happy to come back for regular exams. The staff was so caring and understanding, and the pricing was waaaay less than I expected. For a last minute sedation, meds, exam, the cleaning, and annual shots (I requested them), it was under $450. I would've paid probably double at any ER vet!

Dr. Johnson and his staff are amazing! Can’t say that enough! I was so nervous finding a vet for my pups major surgery and I am so happy to have found them! Everyone is so kind and sweet! You can truly tell they love what they do. They love the animals and care for them so well! Each person is very knowledgeable and so quick to answer any questions you may have! My sweet pup has ITP and is 12 years old- so I was nervous about surgery and relapse but Dr. Johnson has been so thorough in making his decision for surgery and following up on my pup! They made sure to give me updates while she was in surgery and went above and beyond in their care for her and making sure she was comfortable and loved! It helped me feel so much more at ease during this whole process knowing my dogs vet team’s attention to detail and care for their patients. They are flexible and their priority is making sure your pet is cared for and you have a good understanding on how to care for your pet following your visit! I highly recommend them as a Vet! I live kinda far and driving to them is absolutely worth it! Your pet would be in great hands at City Vet South Hulen!

I had an appointment today for my medium sized (55lb) dog and two cats. They were pretty nervous and vocal walking in, and I myself was nervous on how an appointment with all three together would go. City vet made this experience very easy, from booking the appointments, to check in and check out. The staff that works with the animals are very friendly and patient, and are extremely knowledgeable on how to get the “not so pleasant” parts of the appointment done quickly and easily. Dr. Johnson was amazing with all three fur babies as well and answered all of my questions thoroughly and happily. When we were entering the building and leaving, we were offered help in and out of our car because they could see that getting everyone in and out of the car was a bit much to juggle. By the time we left and on the car ride home, everyone seemed to be relatively stress free and happy. We will continue to use Cityvet for our fur babies needs!

New business that is growing. The place is clean and the people are really nice. I like their upfront pricing where I would go to other places give you the bill and say I thought you knew. Reasons I love it over like designated parking, I can mostly get an appointment when I want one, I feel like my pet is safe and loved, it's clean, I like their hours for grooming and regular service. I can go to the same place for grooming and service. Reason I kind-of don't like it, the workers seem more comfortable with the pets then the people (could just be me making them nervious), they are not fully comfortable with their computer systems or automated systems. Clearly I didn't mark down for that as it us subjective.

Cat parents: Be aware this place REQUIRES sedation/anesthesia for all cats for simple grooming. This was not clear when I made the appointment. New clients are also required to pay $69 for a vet exam to determine suitability for sedation for cats pre- grooming. So, we ended up paying a steep fee much for Jiji’s grooming. I was told it’s because their groomer has had bad experiences with cats. Also, rabies tags alone aren’t sufficient proof of vaccination. I made it clear I was not satisfied with what felt like a bait & switch, so the vet waived the “exam fee.” While the staff was nice & polite, we won’t be going back there for cat grooming.

We just moved to town and needed a vet for our German shepherd and were recommend City Vet by multiple people! Staff was super friendly and greeted our boy by name, even gave him a special fun treat (with our permission) during his exam! Dr. Johnson was very loving to our dog and answered all of our questions very thoroughly and thoughtfully! We felt very cared for and left very satisfied. The facility is super clean and updated, no wait time to get a room, and I dare say our dog even *liked* his visit! So far, highly recommend!

We had to take our dog for an emergency visit. Our regular vet are closed on Saturdays now. Choose them off reviews. I’m so happy we did. They went over lab results and the x-ray with us and kept us well informed. All the staff were so nice. They even sent me the results and information, in case we needed an emergency visit on Sunday. Over all, amazing experience and helped so much to ease our anxiety. This visit has convinced me to switch for our dogs primary care. Visit was with Dr. Derek Johnson.

This morning I noticed my dog had a bulge on her spay incision and needed to find a vet to get her in. City Vet was recommended to me. Upon arrival the vet staff was very friendly and helpful. Each of the staff members greeted me and reassured me that they will be able to see her as soon as possible. Soon after they placed us in a room, Dr. Johnson came in and was very gentle with my pup. He addressed all of my concerns. I highly recommend this place and will be back with the rest of my pups! ☺️

My dachshund puppy loves these wonderful people and they are quick n super clever when it comes to puppy shot time. I love how clean and professional this place is. I also like how they’re upfront about prices. Instead of beating around the bush n surprising you at the end. You can tell All the people here really love their job or they put on a really really good front haha. 10/10 highly recommended to give these a lovely people a visit. You won’t be disappointed at all. Marla also approves.

A friend of mine at work found City Vet for me after I moved to Fort Worth from Arlington. You couldn't ask for a better "Team" to care for your cherished pets. I had a GREAT experience with CityVet and will be recommending them to everyone! The staff is all so incredibly friendly there. They got me in not once, but twice for rather last minute appointments, which was greatly appreciated. As it was my first time brining a pet to the vet, I had quite the list of questions. They were super patient with me and happy to help with my unique situation. Not only that, but they offer AMAZING package deals to help reduce costs. Love this place!

Everyone at CityVet Hulen was so kind and attentive to my little doggie. You can tell that they genuinely love animals and take deep care in their work. I was able to drop my dog off for a vaccination and bath and they took a long time to chat with me and answer all of my questions. They offer competitive pricing and I could get my dog right in for grooming, which is a HUGE DEAL! Give CityVet a call, they will take great care of your furriest family members!

They managed to squeeze us in last minute because we were worried about our pet, even though we had never been to this office (thank goodness they stay open until 6pm—our normal vet had already closed). The vet was so kind to our pet, and made him feel at ease. We were in and out in approximately 45 mins, when we expected to be there for several hours. Would absolutely recommend to a friend, and will likely start bringing our other dogs here, as well!

I moved to the FW area about a year ago and really loved our old vet so I was skeptical of the clinic. I have been EXTREMELY satisfied by the care they have shown my boys. I have a 70lb dog and a cat with kidney problems and I truly believe they are in good hands with this clinic. On top of that, every. single. time. that I call as long as it's business hours I get someone on the phone who is kind and easy to work with. Absolutely would recommend!

We have been taking our dogs here since we moved and we love it. The Dr is so kind and so is all the staff. We feel they talk to us like dog parents and have our fur babies best I treat in mind. Price is also a huge factor when picking out vets and so fat they have been in line for what we paid our our state for our last vet service. I did see other local vets who have much higher rates. But we are happy with City Vet and would recommend!

Took our litter of puppies to them for a wellness check and they were fantastic! They took great care of each one and managed the chaos of 5 Great Dane puppies very well! You can tell they love what they do! Dr. Johnson was awesome and was a great help to us. Elaina (probably spelled that wrong) and Clint were very welcoming when we walked in and Elaina took great care of us throughout the appointment. We will definitely be back!

All the staff were welcoming and extremely nice. The clinic was meticulously clean and roomy. The doctor (Dr. Derek) was so kind to us and our dogs . He sat and talked at length about seizures and thyroid disease. I am definitely changing all 6 of our pets here and am referring to everyone I know. Today he did surgery on our dog that had been bitten by a husky. Good outcome and meds sent home are working.

They did a fantastic job grooming my yorkie and were calm and patient with him. They seen he was anxious and displayed a wonderful understanding of his needs and when I picked him up he was wagging his tail and was happy. Elisabeth did an excellent job at grooming him to my specifications and I highly recommend her! Thank you City Vet for taking care of my precious baby. You've earned a new customer for sure!

CityVet is a beautiful facility and has all the features necessary to take care of your pets needs. Specifically Dr. Johnson is Texas A&M trained and is very passionate about your pets. This is not a low budget facility for free care. Doctor visits are $69 and x-rays $230. They don’t do any unnecessary services. They are very professional and do follow up’s so you understand your Pets situation and treatment.

I've just switched here from a previous clinic I'd been going to for over a year and I'm soooo glad I did! My only regret is that I did not switch sooner. The service here is above and beyond all around. My tiny complaint is rooms - my puppy kept eating crumbs, dust / hair balls, and other dirt particles on the ground. A good sweep at least would be nice. In any case, very satisfied with this location.

Amazing and knowledgeable staff! I called and got an appointment for my kitty cat and was able to get in the next day. The vet nurses/doc were awesome and super sweet and gentle with my darling. The rooms were super clean and even had a cat tree for her to explore and enjoy while waiting (No long waits either). I just moved here and was very sad to leave my old vet but this will be my new go to!

Dr. Johnson was wonderful! Unlike most vets who jump into costly care, Dr. Johnson gave me reasonable solutions to fit my budget to start treatment. We decided to tackle the issues we were having with diet and nutrition changes to rule certain factors out before heading forward with blood work and additional testing. My little fur ball is doing so much better already! We love Dr. Johnson! :)

This is a well-run practice with great vets and staff. The lobby and rooms are always so clean. I love how they are very upfront with pricing. When they suggest certain treatments or preventative care they always specify the price without me even having to ask. They seem really organized with scheduling and I’ve never had to wait more than a few minutes past scheduled appointment times.

Dr. Johnson and his Staff are the greatest! I started using them as our Vet recently for our Basset and Maltipoo. We started bringing our Basset Hound there recently for Spay complications from another Vet and you couldn't ask for better people to see. Dr. Johnson is so patient with her and she is an ornery baby that is for sure! I definitely recommend them to everyone.

All of the staff was amazing! We will make them our official vet for all of our fur babies! They were very caring and concerned, and it wasn’t about money but the care of the pet. Typically you get a front desk staff with an air of an attitude but we were greeted warmly and our furbaby was treated with great concern only about her. Highly recommend!

We are so grateful to City Vet for making room in their schedule to treat our family cat. It was Labor Day weekend and all other Vets said they could see her on the following Tues. Dr. Johnson and his team cleaned and stitched the abcess and we were very impressed with their concern and care. I recommend them to all my pet loving friends.

I Had a wonderful experience taking my fur baby Mocha to the vet. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, there were treats in the room, and the vet explained things to me very well and disclosed the price of everything to me before they went through with it. AMAZING experience every time i go! My dog (Finley) has had some health issues the past 6 months and every time, the doctor is very empathetic and professional. They were super great, addressed every concern I had and made sure to explain everything. My dog hasn’t been drinking or eating much for a couple of days and they explained what every minor abnormality they saw in the bloodwork and X-rays meant. Very professional and will definitely be coming back

If I could write them 10 out of 10 stars, I absolutely would. Hands-down city vet is one of the best veterinary it’s just I have never taken any of my animals. Definitely would recommend anyone going if they are puppies sick their cat is sick or anything hands-down I would definitely recommend.

Have never experienced such amazing customer service from a vet before! They were able to fit me in same day as a new patient and treat my German Shepherds’ UTI. The entire staff was so welcoming and friendly and really cared about my fur baby. Will be taking both my dogs here from now on!

A wonderful experience. I felt like my cat got a thorough exam and they were very good interacting with him and petting him throughout. All of my questions were answered and I didn’t feel rushed. Slightly pricey but a better exam than our previous vet experience.

I’ve used the CityVet office in Oaklawn Dallas for many many years with my old dog. Now living in Fort Worth I’m a client at the new Helen office with my young puppy. The service is just as kind and efficient as Dallas with very knowledgeable staff. Great vet!

This was my first time to use their grooming services for my fur baby and they were awesome. They took special care of her, they did a fantastic job on her groom and she looks and feels super sassy! I would highly recommend them and will use them again!!

Very nice new facility. The staff and Dr. are nice and courteous.They got me in a quickly with my new puppy to get his next set of vaccines. Very pleased!
