One cold and rainy afternoon we stopped by Clara's Tidbits Restaurant while passing through Jacksonville. We were surprised upon entering how spacious the restaurant was. There was plenty of seating available, and we chose a window seat in the corner of the room. But before seating, we needed to order. This was done with some success using the kiosks in the lobby area. My sister and brother-in-law tend to complicate their orders more than my wife and I, so they ended up approaching the counter and placing their order with a real human. I'm not sure what the benefits of the kiosks would be, but I suppose if one were a regular at the restaurant it might speed up the ordering process. The restaurant was quite clean. The bathrooms even had a hint of a bleach smell to them, which isn't a bad thing. The staff was friendly, helpful, and patient, given that this was our first time. And the food was quite good. My wife and I both ordered sandwiches and soups, and the sandwiches allow for quite a bit of customization. The bread for the sandwiches was soft and the produce used for the sandwiches and salads was fresh and crisp. Clara's Tidbits Restaurant is a winner, and I would definitely consider stopping again while passing through Jacksonville.

EVERYTHING IS AWESOME. Hendricks, the original location is the only one I’ve ever been too. I think they make the best chicken salad and chicken ‘chunks’ in the world! Their potato salad is the BEST !! Normally in my family we don’t like any pot salad but homemade… their potato salad is the only exception of ‘store bought’ potato salad we will eat. It is welcome at all of our family functions ! Their cakes and cookies are awesome also. We have used them to cater events at work, or sometimes we just order ourselves a lunch. Ordering on their website is better than any other. It goes into great detail on each item to add or subtract anything, to add on your condiments etc. There is a place to put an extra comment on each item, and we have done that, and they have always noticed and did what we asked for. Thank you so much to all the Tidbits people.

Long time favorite. Love the new cinnamon and sugar pita chips. Was disappointed when food took much longer than everyone else at the same time. My pita was cold and I requested it to be heated. It had a beautiful avocado on it. When they brought it back from heating it, it only had one slice of avocado on it. The wife's salad was missing 2 ingredients. Tid bits is usually spot on. This time quality of food still above average but they messed up heating of pita and few ingredients missing

I've eaten Tidbits food a couple of times and it was very good. The chicken is really good. But lately I've just been so annoyed with customers/employees(?) parking on the side of the building and blocking Louisa st. I get that parking is extremely limited but nobody should be allowed to park there cause it prevents people from being able to enter to the Soba apartments. And you sort of can park there and not block the road enough to where ppl can still enter but people have been taking up extra space so that no one can enter. And that's been really frustrating. I know you can go around through Home street but even Home street can narrow upon entering or there's a lot of cars. It would be nice that they had better parking.

I rate my experience okay. I ordered the salad trio, pasta salad, pita chips, cake slice. The trio consisted of chicken, tuna, potato salads, also coleslaw. I did not like the taste and texture of the slaw. The pasta salad tasted bland and days old, I ordered it thinking I was going get the best, NOT very disappointed. The potato salad was alright. I must give high scores to the chicken and tuna salad, very good, not too salty, not over done and no eggs. The pita chips were over cooked, very greasy. The best for last....the lemon cake slice. OMG, the lemon cake was hands down best I've ever had, heavenly. I'll be back, but will be trying the salad bar next time.

As a long standing restaurant with a stellar reputation for consistently delicious food it is despicable that the face of this business is a haughty, loud mouthed bully. On a busy Friday, June 17 2022 several people were on line to pick up called in orders. We all watched as a woman on line walked up and got heatedly reprimanded for asking about her order that had been paid for and was bagged and ready on the shelf. After the woman got her order, the employee told her coworker, at the counter, that she should "slap that woman ". Then this employee started to make moves to do just that. It was a horrible scene. Shame on the manager that has employed this worker.

My heart was broken today. I was in Jacksonville for a MRI prior to knee surgery at a facility 2 minutes from Tidbits. I longed for that delicious chicken salad, potato salad and wonderful lemon cake. I ordered online for "to my car pickup" since there is no close parking and my knee limits my ability to walk very far. You can only imagine how broken hearted I was when I called to confirm and the lady answering the phone told me they no longer offer "to your car" pickup. She voided my order. Clara your customers will follow you anywhere, move to a building that offers parking. I know I'll be happy next time I come by.

The service was great. I was greeted with smiles. Everything was clean and organized. They offer limes and lemons for your tea! I had a generous amount of food and lots of sliced pickles for my pita. The potato salad is the best in town and has been for over 25 years, really!

I have lunch here probably 3-4 days a week. Terrific, affordable salads and vegetarian options. Staff is always extremely kind and courteous. My only suggestion for improvement is the delivery system...consider pagers, table cards, table numbers...there’s a ton of options better than sending staff around screaming numbers. It’s horribly inefficient and frankly, awkward to observe. Save your staff some wasted effort and create a better customer experience by switching to a more modern means of notification. :) Everything is terrific otherwise!

I pass this spot often, but I didn’t realize it was where I was ordering lunch from on DoorDash today. Everything was delicious and very fresh! I got the chicken avocado pita and pasta salad. The pita was huge and jam packed. I subbed the chicken chunks for chicken salad and it was literally the best chicken salad I’ve had in Jacksonville. This is definitely my new favorite lunch spot! I walked in at 2:26 and ordered a chicken salad sandwich to surprise my coworker who loves this place. I was surprised when I gave it to her! The got the order wrong! Have lunch here once or twice a year. They pride themselves on consistency, and they deliver it. This place has been going since 1985 and is always crowded at lunchtime, according to friends to work in the area. Have never had their catering but they have an interesting online menu and strong restaurant and chef backgrounds. Never had anything bad here and people love their salad bar. This is the mothership, with 150 seats; I've never been to their other locations.

Had lunch with coworkers. About 10 of us. There was a really nice lady working, Pam was her name. She was amazing. I was having a hard time figuring out what i was gonna eat. She noticed me over by the salad bar and asked if I needed help. I told her I couldn't find anything to suit my taste. She asked what I liked and together we created a poboy I loved. If you go there just know she doesn't get tips unless you give them directly to her. She's worth it. Promise

During the difficult time of my father in law passing away Stacy help organized food to be delivered after we got back from the cemetery. There was enough food and deserts for a couple meals! She told us she would handle it and did. She went above and beyond to make sure that our family was taken care of in our time of need. If you have catering needs Stacy is the person to talk to.

I love Tidbits. They always have great sandwiches and there's always something new to try if you want to switch it up. I typically get the roast beef pita, which it greattt with all of the fixings. Theyre also known for the cherry limeade , potato salad, and the strawberry shortcake which are all excellent. I definitely recommend if you just want something simple and homemade. I wish they would update the inside of their locations.

My friends and I always choose Tidbits to have our annual birthday lunch for gift exchanges. There is plenty of room and we LOVE the food! The salad bar is well maintained and fresh ingredients added multiple times during the lunch hour. I've never had to send food back or had inconsistencies in the quality of the food. You must try the pound cake! Clara's potato salad is the only other potato salad I will eat besides my Mom's.

I absolutely love their potato salad! Haven't been in quite awhile and was stoked to go. Ordered a Turkey on pita (my usual) for pickup, which is what was on the order ticket, but got chicken salad instead. I was upset but decided to try it because I wasn't going back to get it corrected. I was pleasantly surprised with it, and I'm not a chicken salad kinda girl! Might have to try some other items in future visits!!

Great sandwiches, salads and desserts. The place gets reallllllllly crowded really fast with locals at lunch time, but their efficient staff, order kiosks and dining room assistants make everything run like clockwork. Free parking behind the building in unpaved lot, and a golf cart shuttle if you want to take it. Try the chicken avacado pita, extra ranch and (Clara's famous) potato salad with lemon pound cake.

Visited Jacksonville for a day after our cruise and stopped by Clara's. The chicken sandwich was delicious. The real star though for me was the gumbo. Just superb! If you're in town and nearby you won't regret stopping by.

Very disappointed. We ordered food for a group of us at work and 3 of us ordered a bowl of soup or gumbo. The other two's bowls were physically larger than mine. Mine had a huge clump of rice in the middle and maybe 3 tablespoons of gumbo. This was not worth the $ and the "bread and butter" they send with it was two tiny pieces as well. I was still hungry and had to buy additional food.

The only service there was was when you ordered. You made your drink, got any refills yourself, and threw away your trash. Food was delish I had vegetable soup, chicken salad in a pita, and potato salad. It was all good!

The food is probably amazing but I'm rating the person who drives the van. The delivery driver honked at me at a red light while a pedestrian was crossing the street. He wanted me to make a right while a pedestrian was still on the cross walk. It happened to me yesterday afternoon. I don't mean any harm to tidbits, the driver however doesn't seem patient.

My wife and I went for the first time and both had the chicken salad sandwich with fruitful and peach bread pudding. The best and freshest sandwiches around! Their consistency is some of the best! I have been several times and they never messed up an order. Their chicken avocado pita is my absolute favorite. Kiosks make the ordering process smooth and quick now love it! The salads here are always guaranteed to be on point. We had 45 minutes for lunch and was in and out with time to spare. The lady cleaning tables greeted us and asked us if we needed anything even though it is all self service. Great place for lunch!

Service was fast, food was good. The only issue is they trick us with the fruit or salad side. Like they appear in the menu, you think it is going to be a normal size of fruit or macaroni salad side. Nope! They give a little cup that might be equal at one spoon or less than one spoon of fruit or macaroni salad

The food here is always outstanding. We cater lunch 2-3 times a month and Tidbits always impresses. Anytime we have a client from out of town we recommend the potato salad- its the best. They also have good vegetarian options and the staff is always polite. If I could have given them 6 stars, I would have.

Had plenty of workers but seemed very chaotic. Had an online order that they had apparently given to someone else. So had to wait 15 minutes while they remade mine after standing around trying to figure out who gave someone the wrong bag. Food was good as always. Seems to be under new management.

Good place for lunch. Parking is a little difficult as you have to park around the back and the walk up but they try to help by having someone there with a golf cart. The food has always been good. They also do get a bit busy from time to time especially around lunch so get there early.

I only ever ate Tidbits if a drug rep brings it to the office. Twice I’ve got a stomachache and decided not to partake any longer. Today, I went to just drink tea and it was sour. These are big orders too. One would think they’d put more care into the quality of the food and drinks.

Really good sandwiches and deli foods. They even have gluten free bread! Super nice for lunch, if you are in a rush for lunch (30 mintues or less) order take out because they can sometimes be busy and take a longer than fast food places during the lunch rush but totally worth it.

Tidbits is always a good bet for a great lunch! My go-to is the daily special with soup - chicken salad pita and Gumbo with a side of potato salad.

You can special order the cakes with a 24 hr notice and the baker will decorate it for you so beautifully. This is the lemon cake decorated for a birthday. They also have chocolate, sour cream, and vanilla upon request.

I’ve eaten salads twice from here in the last 6 months and they’ve been phenomenal both times. Tasty and fresh! Both times was because of work meetings in Jax and really wish one would open in Yulee! I’d go a lot more!

The chicken salad blew my mind. Ordering again today so I can try more things. Loved it all!! The potato salad was also excellent. All my ingredient choices and notes were perfectly followed!!

This place has been around forever but I just discovered it. Great food especially the potato salad. I recommend going early to beat the lunch crowd. We'll worth the wait even if you're late.

Tidbits is a Jacksonville institution having been here for decades. They offer sandwiches, salads, and soups. Food quality is always very good. Their homemade salad dressings are fantastic!

The food was great!! The service was awesome, I called in a catering order for 40 ppl at 1030 am & my order was ready for pickup at 1140. My entire order was correct down to the pickles.

Great tuna melt. I always ask for it on rye bread. Yum. Side fruit cup makes for a nice dessert. Staff is friendly and very accommodating. Slightly on the expensive side but worth it.

I like coming here for lunch when I'm in the area. Simple, fresh food. Rotating daily specials. The staff is efficient and friendly too. Their limeade too sweet for my taste though.

Wonderful deli style food! Tidbits is the only chicken salad that rivals my mother's. Consistently delicious. I have never had a bad meal! The Hendricks location is my favorite!
