I have shopped here for 19 years . Now they have introduced the parking fine sharks the same time as doing work that reduces parking spaces. I parked in a unused space that wasn't a official and ran round the shop. There maybe 10 minutes. Probably 5 minutes. £70 fine (£35 if paid fast). A mum and her kids (who was very carefully parked though not in a 'space') got the same thing at the same time. They are clearly watching not to deter bad parking but to extract money from people to the maximum degree. I will actively avoid shopping there. I would encourage everybody to shop in Tesco, the Deli on Lapwing lane and the local little shops and avoid the corporation happy to overcharge it's paying customers heavily punitive amounts for parking at busy times in unobstructive places. If the fine was smaller I could perhaps swallow it as a method for deterring dangerous parking, but I am very aware of the kind of money parking firms like Horizon are making.
I've ordered a basic items from this branch via deliveroo. There was an offer for "2 irresistible chicken Tikka masala meals" £7.50. I receive a random cheap Co ops own version valued at £2. I inform deliveroo and they said they apologies, but they can't do anything and call Co op to arrange a redelivery. I contact co op and speak to someone who was actually helpful and they called deliveroo for me. I call back and the Co Op member states they can't do a redelivery from their end. Who am I suppose to call now? My mechanic? I ask the Co op memebr are the two items in stock? The person's responds with yes. We've just been very busy. What does that mean. It's like ordering a cheeseburger and receiving a lava lamp as the branch was busy? This has to stop. Someone please either refund me or turn off your PDA machines and train your staff memebrs not to be so lazy and carless.
I went tonight to this shop it’s March 16/2019 at around 7 Pm . The person on the till was absolutely not professional and was so rude to me in front of my 5 years old son . I just asked if it’s ok to have 50 £ cash back he said no .then I said ok no worries I thought you do as the Didsbury branch do give he replied in a rude way making fun of me in front of other shoppers they can give you million if they want we don’t give here and moving his body and doing strange face expressions. I didn’t want to make a seen I spoke to Dylan the manger that time and he promised he will deal with it . I want to hear from the branch what did they do to this guy he had a Berd and I’m quit sure that he wasn’t normal he was drunk . This is not acceptable at all and i’m Waiting to hear from you guys or else i’ll Take it to a higher level .
In terms of my rankings of Coop - this is placed above Edgeley, Withington, Lady Barn, Malmsbury and Llanfair PG. It is, however, not as good as Barlow Moor Rd. Make of that what you will. On a serious note - it's one of the newer rebranded ones, lots of stock including things you wouldn't expect, fairly large freefrom selection, decent meal deal selection and the staff have always been lovely.
Love the coop shop on demand, absolutely fantastic, have just come out of hospital and I'm not very mobile. Much much better than Deliveroo , so so much choice, delivery is quick and reliable and staff very courteous and friendly, will always use this fabulous serv6from now on, no more Deliveroo for me, this service is just too good!
Good local supermarket with everything you need for a weekly shop. More expensive than larger stores and other brands but you pay for convenience I guess. You can get everything you need here with a lot of selection across alcohol, food, home goods and everything in between. Definitely handy with a good amount of parking too.
Small village (Didsbury area) with the shops, cafés and restaurants and the pubs. Very very nice place to go and also the local community [Withington and Greater Manchester] hospital and police station, just near my house (only took) 25 minutes to walk [and the] local tram station towards the city centre and Didsbury too
2 hours delivery, good but be careful to switch off taps and cookers. Due to delivery that is often arriving promptly. in Flats where residents can be busy. A good idea that the Co op needs to text message to make elderly residents aware giving time to switch off appliances before answering the door.
I've started using the co-ops in Didsbury village or Withington instead of this one, as over the years I've found the staff here at Burton road are easily the most unpleasant & unhelpful staff. It must be something to do with the management at this branch but it's so much worse than other co-ops.
Been coming here for years but the automated tills have given certain members of staff an opportunity to take it easy. The camp Indian guy is a lovely fella but I can’t recall the last time I saw him on a till. He just stands there chatting.
Brilliant store, has all I need. Staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is NOT expensive unless you buy premade lunches. Anyway, the medium price you have to pay is worth it given the convenience, cleanliness and high quality of the store.
Nice, big store. Pretty quiet but, we are in lockdown. Parking was a doddle on the main road but again, this may be due to quieter times. Noticed it was a time restricted parking zone and there were plenty of traffic wardens around..
One of the medium sized Co-ops,, had some good offers as always. Bright and well laid out, footprints to follow, green/red light system for number control. Only place I've found treacle in last 2 weeks. Staff pleasant & polite.
Very nice staff I found them very helpful. This is only a small shop so not a great choice found it very over priced I'd only go again for convenience as its local but I'll stick to my usual shopping places.
I live v nearby & it's so noisy - deliveries very early in the morning & late at night - not sure that's within contract! Also - engines running, polution, car doors slamming, shouting, etc.
Quick efficient service. And if they did not know how the gift card worked and what my balance was the lady got that answer by asking manager and other staff. Thumbs up for me.
Great range of products and the shop is well run.Staff are very helpfull and the self serve tills are a breeze to use......all in all I will be shopping there again
This is a good shop with decent variety. Is good for a light shop but would not recommend for a weekly shop. Good customer service and has self service tills.
do not park on the car park - i parked here for less than an hour and was charged a fine even though i was paying customer at the store. completely unfair.
Consistently awful experience every time it comes to paying. Those self service tills are rubbish. Rip em out, put in proper tills, and hire more people!
Staff are always really friendly here, there is a cash machine out front, parking to the rear and a good range to select from for the size of the place!
It's the nearest local shop to work. I love the ready made salads for £1.Especially when I have only got less than 1/2 hour to eat it & be back in work.
Excellent location and stocks everything one needs for day to day food needs . Self.check outs are great too and makes things move much faster
3 stars because most of the shelfs where empty due to the lorry shortage. Wasn't able to get what I wanted. But a nice little shop.
Convince, obviously comes with a mark up, but self service tills mean little queueing and range is good for the size of the store.
Although convenient, I would say that like every coop, the prices are very high when you compare to other high street stores.
I have just lived round here with my son I always thought co op is expensive but it's very cheap. I have got some good deals
Never too busy great selection not found in tesco and asda , fudge Greek yogurts and similar products. Always clean.
I like the coop, but this branch has a vile woman whose reliably rude to me every time I go in, so I don’t.
Standard coop shop. All the usual stuff. Parking is fine. Good quality food on sale not too expensive.
Good range as long as you don't visit after 7pm then expect the fresh food fridges to be quite empty
Standard co-op store. Prices a little more expensive. Fast self service area. Good selection of wine
Fine Coop, better wine selection and more products available than the Didsbury Village branch
Friendly staff, great selection of produce, convenient parking, high quality lunches.
My favourite Co-op store! Good selection of food and wine. Friendly, helpful staff.
Shop is clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Large range of items.
They sells cigs to me not alot off shop let me buy cig only because I'm 14
Lots of vegan options! Good reduced section, easy and fairly big parking.
Avoid online ordering - unreliable rude & complacent
