PLEASE READ THE WHOLE REVIEW. The move started off good and then went bad very quickly. The movers names were ZANE, TREY, and JOSEPH. A piece of furniture was moved that was not supposed to be moved, underneath this dresser was $9,000 in two separate envelopes my husband had underneath the dresser. When we came upstairs to check on the move we saw the dresser was wrapped and on a dolly, my husband told the three movers to stop moving and asked where the envelops were. Immediately all three movers denied seeing any envelopes. Said they didn’t know what he was talking about. He asked multiple times and stated if they didn’t give back the envelopes the police would be called. They continued to deny seeing envelopes. My husband asked them to unwrap the dresser while he watched, as they did one of the movers handed my husband one of the envelopes with half the amount of money in it. It had been picked up and wrapped on top of the dresser. The second envelope was nowhere to be found. They had first denied seeing any envelopes, and yet one had been wrapped up into the dresser which someone would have had to pick up and put there. The police were called as the second envelope was still missing. The movers tried to leave with half of my belongings in the truck while the police were on the way. When the police arrived they searched and spoke to the movers this ordeal added an extra 2-3 hours to the move. The police told us more than likely they have done things like this before and we would not find the money but suggested us watching them unwrap each piece of furniture at the new location in case they may have stashed it wrapped up in another piece of furniture with plans to pocket it when unwrapping. We did exactly that. One of the cabinets that was one of the last things placed into the moving truck somehow was one of the last things brought into the new house which it should’ve been the first with the way the truck was packed. The movers brought the cabinet in and then hung out in the truck for a while. We unwrapped the cabinet and SURE ENOUGH the second enveloped had been slipped through the bottom slat of the cabinet. Since the money wasn’t on any of the movers of course there was nothing we could do. I spoke to the manager (I cannot remember his name) in the middle of the ordeal who told me to keep him updated. I have now called him four times and left multiple messages with no reply. I have asked on these messages to be refunded for 3 hours of the move as we had to deal with our money being tampered with, the time the police were searching, etc etc. I have had no reply, no one has contacted me to ask about the situation. On top of that the main mover Zane was EXTREMELY rude, making race comments to my husband etc. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL SEND MOVERS TO YOU WHO WILL STEAL FROM YOU.

I am very disappointed by my recent moving experience with College Hunks. I can’t recall the last time I have written a negative review, because very rarely if ever do I feel the need to do so. However, the damage caused to my apartment and furniture during this move necessitates it. Furthermore, I was very persuaded to choose College Hunks due to their overwhelmingly positive reviews and word-of-mouth. So, I think it is very important that people who are looking around for a moving service also see the negative experiences that people have with this company. Three gentlemen arrived at the first location in a very timely manner. They were nice and they definitely were uniformed, however I found the knowledge and service to be lacking. Jarrett, the truck captain, is a fantastic guy and if it weren’t for the unfortunate state of my walls, door, and couch (pictured) I would have given a 5 star review. I can also say that he was very honest when I brought the damage to his attention and admitted full responsibility. Even so, this damage could have been entirely avoided if the movers had bothered to look at the entry of the apartment, as they had in the first location, and make a strategy before attempting to move my large sofa into the apartment. I was surprised to see that they did not even bother to tape or protect the corners of the furniture, which is some thing that should be expected of a professional moving company. They did not even take the legs off of my sofa (they unscrew easily just by hand) before getting stuck in the entry. If they had even glanced at the entry before trying to fit my large sofa through it, this could have been avoided. Instead, my day is more stressful as opposed to less, which is something College Hunks seems to value, and I find myself wondering if I should have picked a competitor instead. If the damage was restricted to the walls, my response and review would not be nearly as negative, because admittedly that is a fairly straightforward fix. However, the door has significant damage which I do not think it can be repaired without replacement, and I do not know if the ripped corners on my sofa are going to make it susceptible to deterioration overtime. This is very very upsetting because I just recently purchased this so far and spent over $1100 on it, so to see it treated with very little care, is rightly disappointing. I have sent an email to the claims department and am awaiting a response. I hope they will fix the damage they have caused to my home and furniture.

I want to make it as publicly clear as possible so no one ends up in the same hands as I have. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The Tampa franchise has clearly never been trained in customer service because over the course of the last 10 days, I’ve been made to feel like every wrongdoing that took place on this move was my fault. As the consumer, I am utterly appalled that this type of customer service (if you can even call it that) exists. I have still yet to receive an apology for a chaoticmove consisting of curse ywords and unprofessionalism. Not even the worst part, my items were broken and missing. On top of all of this, the movers failed to have me sign or present me with opening and closing paperwork so I was never made aware of my legal rights as a mover nor College Hunks policies. I never authorized anything via signature. Despite all of this, the company will not acknowledge that they are at fault in this move and that College Hunks concealed vital information involving claims from me during the move. College Hunks broke a $1,482 bed and then their hunks fought about who broke it right in front of me. This process has been an utter nightmare. Ownership is not a difficult concept when you commit wrongs against someone.

Update: While James as the lead was very professional, as we’ve been unpacking and settling in, many of our belongings are heavily damaged. Additionally, there is significant damage to our brand new home (new construction); chipped tile, several dents, dings and scratches in our doors and walls. I appreciate how they were “trying” to be quick and efficient in an effort to save us some time/money, but this has ultimately cost us even more in repairs/replacements. Furthermore, I submitted an “issue report” through my reservation and have yet to hear back from anyone. This is very disappointing considering how highly recommended they supposedly are. I’d like to change the rating to 2.5 stars but that’s not an option, so I’ve rounded up, but I would warn against expediency over quality. Original: James T, Davonte B, Ricardo L, Izaiah A, Bentley , Preston… These guys were fantastic, super efficient and friendly. They took very good care of our belongings and I highly recommend this company. HONEST, UNIFORMED, NICE, KNOWLEDGEABLE SERVICE indeed. Best movers we’ve experienced by far. THANK YOU!!!

I have yet to have a poor experience with College Hunks and this was no different. From intake (shout out to Alex for his patience with my endless questions) to the move itself, this was the smoothest experience. Carlos called before they even left the depot to make sure we were set up for success, providing a quick rundown of the expectations for the day. Upon arrival (exactly on time which is impressive with Tampa traffic), the guys did a walk through and Carlos level set again. They treated the property with such care and were definitely kinder to my things than I typically am. Jonathan and Darien (I hope I remembered and spelled his name right) were also great to work with. Super personable and professional. They made sure everything was in its place before they were done and checked in periodically to ensure they were meeting my expectations. Moves are stressful even in the absolute best situations, but this team made it, dare I say, enjoyable. From communication on all fronts to the physical labor of moving, I HIGHLY recommend College Hunks and this crew in specific.

From the very start, this was an exceptional experience. The Sales Manager, Cornell Miller, arrived on time and was very professional in his manner. He explained the moving process and how the teams will 1work together to make the moving of my possessions safely to my new home. On the morning of the move, the trucks came on time and the following team members immediately to work: DeShawn, Bentley, Javier, Travis, Enoch and Zaderrin at an amazing speed. They packed so fast, that the bid for my job actually ended up being lower than at first agreed upon. I would have still been happy to pay the bid amount because they got me into my new home in record time. All of my valuables arrived in perfect condition. This is SO important because I have many rare and antique artwork and irreplaceable paintings. Cornell stayed on site for the entire move and I truly did receive V. I. P. service from start to finish. I highly recommend calling upon "THE HUNKS" if you want a great move.

Worse moving experience ever. They no longer care about offering careful quality moving services, all they care is about how much more money they can get. I have used CHHJ for various moves and they kept getting progressively worse. They came into my place of business like a Hurricane, tearing everything down and dumping items into boxes that ended up half full. They were repeatedly told to slow down and be careful, but my requests were ignored. I should have just told them to leave and hired another company but I had to move out of my commercial space. Thousands of dollars worth of products and furnishings destroyed and they kept adding men and vehicles to the job which ended up being unnecessary, overcharged for packing supplies because boxes were used carelessly and were half empty as well as the trucks. The men try to distract you while others are carelessly handling your items. Do not hire these movers if you care about your contents

Carlos and Trent from College Hunks were very polite, and professional, and also helped me load and unload two heavy Lectric bikes in tubs in my F150. This move was from a storage facility into our new construction house on Nov 9. The only damage we saw after the move was a nick in the wall in the Den, pics attached. We'll have to spackle and paint that, but no big deal. We did have an issue with the final balance owed, just like we did on our prior College Hunks move. on Sept 28, when we had them move our furniture from our rental into the storage facility. We were being over-charged $40 on the final balance. We finally got it resolved. I was quoted $149hr labor on my confirmation email when I originally agree to the quote, but Carlos showed $169hr on his final paperwork. Once we got that squared away, I paid the expected final balance. All good.

Exceeded all expectations. Fantastic team of awesome gentlemen. From first contact they were professional, kind, and experienced. I felt very comfortable that all my treasured belongings were in the best hands. Davonte kept in close communication each step of the way so there were no surprises. Darryl made sure all my furniture was set up exactly the way I wanted before they left. Isiodore took great care to safely pack the truck to ensure everything was safe and secure. Khiry carefully padded the especially fragile furniture to make sure it was safe and was meticulous that each box was placed in the correct location at the new house. I honestly couldn’t get these guys to stop and take a break, drink water, eat lunch, nothing until the job was finished. I was truly amazed at the great work they did. TEAM FSU! You guys are the real MVPs!

5-stars for the employees who show up & go above and beyond (I’ve always been very happy w/ the service and the guys that showed up for my last appt were awesome, Jacob is a star). Unfortunately that’s never enough for a top-down problem, and it seems ownership has changed and a previously small local business type feel has shifted to a money grab expansion that has led to the disorganized overpromise/ under deliver that often comes w/ that territory. Call and you get someone overseas, schedule and the scheduler has no idea how the local offices are run, etc. Truly sad, maybe this is where America is headed post-pandemic but all we can do is spend our $ at businesses that align with our own values, and this company seems to no longer be one of them for me.

Do not use this company!!! I booked a moving appointment with them and paid their deposit of $150 with them assuring me that if I cancel within 7 days of the move, I’ll get my deposit back. I CANCELLED A MONTH IN ADVANCE! and still no refund! Calling the customer service number was a joke as they repeat over and over that they can’t do anything other than “send an urgent message to the local office”. I would never ever ever use this company for the lack of professionalism over the phone… how could I trust they would be professional with my moving items?

Edit: unfortunately after multiple attempts to reach the company since my moving regarding a broken tv because we paid extra for extra insurance and we have been given the run around for months and months with no accountability I had to removed stars. Totally unexceptional to not respond and to keep diverting calls. Would unfortunately not recommend Eli, Kyle, Ricardo were absolutely amazing! I’ve moved over 10x in my life and these were the best movers I’ve ever had- hands down. Everything seriously so so so amazing and went so smoothly.

My move was fairly smooth, but for some misunderstandings from College Hunks that led to me spending way more money than originally estimated. Getting the local customer service on the phone to rectify this has been impossible. Been trying since our move in August. Moves are fast paced with lots of stuff happening, so I anticipate the occasional bump in the road, but College Hunks must do a better job rectifying these issues when they occur. Answer the phone and respond to your customers. This is pretty pathetic at this point.

Very very happy with this company. They were very thorough and thoughtful in terms of coming out and helping us to plan the move. We are doing both packing and moving on two separate days. The packing was quick and efficient, the guys were pleasant, courteous, respectful, and professional. They actually did the job two hours faster than we were quoted. I would recommend these guys to anyone, ans I have had some terrible moving experiences. Hopefully we get the same level of high-quality service tomorrow during the actual move.

Jayden and Javier were very good, conscientious, hard working. Tried to figure out how to put together an item I had ( even looked up instructions on line). Give less than 10 not because of them but the expectation was for them to haul away some items . This was discussed with the person who came over to set up the appt but when Jayden and Javier came they said this would be an additional charge which was not said when booking appt( I was told I could put whatever would fit in pick up truck). I probably would not have booked

Awesome experience with College HUNKS! They arrived on time, got everything packed and ready really quickly, and were just as efficient when unpacking at our new home. Really nice to see these young guys being responsible and working hard. They were also really polite, and just a class-act all the way. This isn't even getting into the helpfulness of the office staff, who were very responsive, and managed to keep everything coordinated even through some uncertainty because of Hurricane Idalia.

Carlos V. and Nash A. did an outstanding job. This is the second time this week we used college hunks and I wish these two were here for the first trip. They were extremely prepared with all the supplies and tools needed. Put things down and took care of all our items as if they were their own. Not only were they prepared, they were so polite!!! They were the perfect pair, and finished an entire POD IN TWO HOURS!!!!! Thank you again for everything and taking great care of our things!

My recent long distance move with College Hunks was BY FAR the best moving experience I’ve ever had. The team was very timely and handled my belongings with great care. The best part was that they already had experience moving others out of my apartment building so they had knowledge of the building layout. They then drove my belongings to a new location about 4 hours away, which naturally made me a bit anxious, but they managed everything perfect. Thank you College Hunks!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Eric and Xavier managed to make my biggest move my least stressful move. From the time they started they were polite and full of energy, quite literally sprinting at times to get the job done efficiently. I called around to a ton of places before deciding on this one and I'm so glad I did. I really don't think someone could beat the customer service and value I was provided. You don't wanna move without these guys!

Movers were super nice and did a pretty good job. They caused some damage which happens. I notified the business that day. I got a response over a week later asking for photos to show damage. Since then, crickets. They refuse to pay for the damage caused by their crew dropping a dryer onto a tile which is chipped and needed to be replaced. Subsequently they will not get the business of moving my 3 bedroom house. I'll look for Veteran owned moving company.

Jakes E. and Warren I. did an amazing job moving my bedroom and living room furniture to my new townhouse! They were very efficient, professional, friendly and timely. They placed all my furniture in the proper place inside my house when unloading and helped build my bed back together. Everything made it in one piece without damages. They were GREAT. College Hunks is a great service! We have used them a couple of times before this move and every experience has been awesome. The staff is very professional and very thorough with each job. They are extremely efficient and take extra care when handling all items. Every piece of furniture is wrapped expertly and moved with utmost care. These guys were on time. In fact the truck that I reserved from the rental company wasn’t ready for 2 freakin hrs. My things were professionally packed and everything fit. Sanchez came to the Compass Storage office several times to check on me. That was very thoughtful. Everyone of the guys are true assets to the company. I would Recommend them to others and use again! Their patience is impeccable!!!

This is my second time hiring College Hunks. They moved bedrooms worth of furniture from one house to another, moved to mattresses and frames, and also boxes. They were very speedy and professional. As the the saying goes. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. They were extremely professional, well-mannered, and respectful of all my belongings. My past experiences - military movers - were always dreadful and I could always expect something to be missing or broken. These two gentlemen were great with everything and made sure things were placed where I needed them. 10/10 would hire.

This was my first time moving on my own and my first time using a moving company and the experience couldn't have gone better! Adonis and Bentley were amazing during my move! These guys were awesome today. Smoothly transported our two apartments to one without any damages. Our couch was so big that they had to dolly up both pieces from the ground floor parking garage all the way up to they 5th using the ramps because there was no way to fit them in the elevator. I have heard horror stories about moving companies. I was very anxious but the moment I called, I could tell they were different from the other companies I called and their quote was far more reasonable. My movers, Ricardo, and Caleb were superheroes! I can’t believe how much they got done, and the care that they took for my stuff especially my art. I appreciate them so much.

They did a horrible job! Knowing I would be driving to Indiana they did not pad (I had 30 pads and they used maybe 10) They used 1 strap when I told them to use as many as they needed I would pay for them. Cheryl said they will not pay for my damage due to we did not use them to drive our furniture. The drive has nothing to do with neglect in how her movers packed my truck!

I would recommend this company to anyone. They were very professional. Everything went very smoothly. We had to make 2 stops, one at a storage unit and then to our home and they did everything timely. When I first called to make the appointment they calculated everything and were spot on. No extras. James and Nathan did an amazing job. Thank you so much for everything!

Kyle and DK were truly great! Worked fast, safe, and efficiently moving my furniture from one location to the next. They were also really personable. 100% recommend these guys for the job! Very happy with the company overall. Received a few phone calls beforehand to confirm what I would need, and all needs were met. Nothing was damaged or broken during the move.

This was a last minute move and it truly gave a lot of relief. the customer service reps and movers were very friendly and knowledgeable. the movers came and got the job done. not only did they move me from the 3rd floor with no problem, they also disposed of some items I wanted to throw away. so grateful for this service, will definitely use them again

They were able to accommodate me on my next day move which was absolutely incredible. They were very quick and efficient while also being caring. I will definitely use them again, and would recommend them to absolutely anyone. They are on the pricier side but you for sure get what you pay for when it comes to these guys, hire them for your next move!!

Bentley and Tino arrived as scheduled, were very careful with my items and efficiently took care of my move. They were both very courteous and respectful. I hired College Hunks for packing, moving, and junk hauling services. All three services were completed exceptionally, and made my move so easy. The guys were fast, efficient, careful, and nice. I called because I needed a couch moved to my second story. Customer service was prompt and offered same day service! The two gentleman that showed up to move the couch were professional and friendly! They were very quick and also respectful of my couch and my home! I was extremely pleased with the ease and service provided!

They made changes to where we first had them put furniture and decided to arrange in a different room without complaint. Before they left they made sure things were where we wanted them. Very satisfied with the service.

Jameer and Brighton were awesome guys. I asked a lot of them with my apartment being in the third floor and also having a loft with some unwieldy heavy items. They made light work if it. I was impressed and extremely grateful for their demeanor. Moving is stressful but they really made my day.

The gentlemen showed up on time. They worked as a well coordinated team. They went out of there way to make sure they understood what needed to be done, where it needed to go and in what order. I didn't have any specific expectations but they definitely exceed all of my previous experiences.

I had Ricardo and Jason T. as my movers. They were prompt, quick, and extremely kind. I was worried my items wouldn’t fit the container I ordered and not only did they fit everything, but they also fit items I had forgotten and there was some room to spare. Would absolutely hire them again.

Davonte B, Ricardo L and Javier O were an all star crew. Moving in the Tampa heat and up a 3 story walkup is no easy task, but these guys made it look easy. Super effective crew, friendly and caring of all our things. I would put these guys on speed dial if you’re looking for a good move.

They were communicating with me from start to finish about their process and procedures, and did everything fast and efficiently. They were very respectful and kept a high level of excellence throughout the move. I’m very happy I picked them and would definitely call again if/when I move

Items were broken, extended breaks taken, and even stopped for dinner in between locations and still charged me for the time. What should have been a 3.5 hour job took them 5.25. Needless to say, look somewhere else if you want accurate pricing and your items delivered undamaged.

Rudy, Glenn, Jarrett were a fantastic team. We were able to get them booked with short notice after another vendor cancelled the night before our move. They arrived on time, we’re respectful of our space and items, and got the work done quickly. Thank you for saving the day.

Received call that they were running over an hour late, but then they showed up and didn't take the junk requested, and left with no call or details. Called corporate office and received no call back either. Unprofessional, and waste of time. Better off calling someone else!

This is my second time using College Hunks and I could not be happier with my experience. Ricardo Ambert and Trevonne Moyd did an incredible job and were timely and professional. I have a lot of vintage furniture and they delivered it all with care. Highly recommend!

This was my second move experience with College Hunks and I cannot recommend them enough! Javier and Zain were extremely polite and professional. They moved all of my items with such care, as if it was their own furniture and apartment! Definitely 5 star service.

Even though only 2 out of the 3 movers we were scheduled to move us were available, the move still only took the 2 movers the amount of time that was initially estimated. They worked non-stop, were friendly, professional, and took care with all items being moved.

Jarrett and Adonis hit it out of the park on my move. They were relaxed, professional and just took care of business. At the new house they moved other furniture into the house. They went above and beyond and I'm so happy I called College Hunks! Thanks guys

I made three calls about them over charging me. Ghosted! We have been a customer for years. Not calling them again.. They have lost our business… I’ll call an independent contractor next time. This is what happen when businesses get established and GREEDY!

They showed such confidence and hustle and tried to get the job done before expiration of our second hour (when a lot of guys would try to delay it to charge you for an additional hour). They handled huge pieces with ease and care. I couldn’t be happier!

College Hunks made our move supper easy. They were very flexible given the requirements of the property manager and being able to both move our items to the new office and remove items we no longer needed. I’d recommend them without hesitation.

They helped with my last-minute move since my lease ended the day after a hurricane passed through. And my storage space was a bit tight and they boxed up some stuff that was there before to make room!

Stay far away from this company. Not only will the scam you out the most money possible. They will ruin your belongings and more. Biggest regret in the entire process of moving was using these movers.
