I finally can get my name in order, following my visa and passport after 3 attempts thanks to Amanuel - who is very professional and really knows what he is doing. He did it in 2 minutes. I think Commonwealthbank should consider my experience to improve your process/ customer service because I was really upset and wanted to change my bank. I got the message from Commonwealthbank to visit the nearest Commonwealthbank to update my personal details in September and in the message said I have been sent an email with information about what ID I should bring. I didn't get such an email. Attempt 1: Last week, I visited Broadway Commonwealthbank with my digital Driving Licence. I was welcomed by a staff, I explained to her why I was there and she asked me to wait. Yeah they were very busy during lunch time and lacked of staff I guess. I was waiting like 15 minutes. She came back, asked for my ID then she told me that she couldn't update my name because I didn't have the physical ID with me. I told her that she should have told me earlier than asking me to wait. She told me that she was with another customer when I arrived so she couldn't tell me ?!?!?! So why did she welcome me and asked how she could help me from the first place. Attempt 2: this Tuesday, I got a message from Commonwealthbank again and yes this time there was an email sent explaining what ID I should bring. It was stated in the email that I could bring my physical driving licence or Passport to change my name detail. I came back to Commonwealthbank yesterday with my physical driving license. After waiting, one staff welcomed me to a room and told me that she couldn't change my name details as I didn't have my physical passport with me. Commonwealthbank needs to update with Government my name changes (I can't remember exactly which department) so you guys needed my passport. I showed her my driving licence and my visa with my name in correct order but she can't help. She said she needed my passport. I'm not sure why it was so complicated like this. In the email it's stated either passport or driving licence? Attempt 3: met Amunuel. He immediately asked me if I brought any ID with me and he solved all the problem in 2 minutes. Before coming back to Commonwealthbank today, I told myself that if my name couldn't be fixed today, I would immediately go to NAB next door and change my bank seriously. I have all evidences what I wrote above if needed I give 5* as my problem was solved and because of Amunuel.
Probably the worst branch of common wealth bank I have been to! I'm just coming out the second time from this branch where I had gone before and one staff lady told me that the branch manager has left (at 3:30pm) pretty rudely. When she saw the amount I was depositing she became all smiles. This next time, there were other two portly ladies, in which the older one brusquely questiined me like a police sergeant "Have you checked the payorder depositing machine?"...as if I was a newbie from a village who didn't know how to operate an ATM machine. That was an international payorder of above 15k aud. Then, she and other lady looked closely at the international pay order and vank name and the first one quips " You need the authorisation signatory also signed at the back..both of the signatories..yeap, yeap!", (meaning the bank authorities who issued this payorder!). Then other younger one went, " I think only the account holder needs to sign at the back". ... Your staff has no training, they are abrupt and irresponsible when they talk with new customers and are discriminative. I believe they assume everyone for either: A) A student or B) A clueless new immigrant (because of color and accent). Teach your staff basic customer interaction and human values and how not to assume things before listening to what customers are saying. Dont just blurt out self assumed WRONG explanations before customer have not even spoken, which might cost you and the customer plenty of hardship. You might be losing a million dollar check someday through such incompetent self assured staff and not even know about it. Otherwise I suggest you change your name to "ol' housewives bank of Bahamas"!
Please do not use this bank as I had a very bad experience with this branch , they really don’t care and don’t know about customer privacy , security and confidentiality . I keep asking staff please keep it down when you mentioned amount of money(the money I wanted to withdrew) but she spoke loudly $.....? Here like you are They are in envelopes!! No secure room to count your money to make sure if they give u correct amount, she asked me to counted in front of people. I think casino and 7 eleven are better place for more security and etc.. My question was from the lady imagine that if it was your money could you count your money here or secure Room ? Answer was : Yeahh I know !!!!!! How you guys get this job IQ=3x0
I feel sorry for the employees whom work in branches, they try their best, but the head office is now completely incompetent, especially the 'KYC' team - 'Know Your Client' fools which are 20year old students who are so bad that you can't even act such total incompetency. I advise all customers to change banks, as other banks are more than happy to accommodate you. Commonwealth Bank has got too big a market share & is now out of control ! Get Out Of There !! Members of this bank don't just wake-up angry for No reason, the banks own incompetent KYC team will steer you into their world of madness ! 'The most arrogant bank in Australia' just go anywhere, but not here!
The Commonealth bank needs to aknowledge that climate policy writ now is going to affect the children and grandchildren and progeny into the future of their customers and their workers and their shareholders. Withdrawing and refusing financial support to offending corporations who ignore the impact of mining and drilling and carbon emmisions will save our world from inevitable destruction in the near and far future. Just went for a quick questions and help about netbank Was seved by a chubby lady with a mole on the nose (worst customer service ever from combank) From the beginning she treated me as if I owe her something, very rude and not engaging with conversation You guys need to assess and give proper training to her so this does not happen to other customer
I went and asked if I could talk to a banker about support. The lady with brown hair (banker at the entenmade a smirk at me and asked what kind of support and looked at me like I was stupid or something. I'm going through domestic violence. Last time I visit this branch. Never have I been treated with such rudeness and treated like I am dumb.
It’s our first time there and we are so impressed with the team, very organised and helpful, far beyond our exception, especially Julian and Branch Manager, they are warm, patient, reliable, smart, efficiency, tried their best to make a great results, it’s amazing experience and we would like to highly recommend to our friends and everyone!
Sadly CommBank is out of touch. It invested $3.9 billion in coal and other fossil fuels last year, which is directly contributing to Australia's high and increasing rate of carbon emissions. Other big Australian banks are heading in the right direction: Westpac has committed to not fund any new coal projects.

I'm really disappointed that CommBank was the biggest funder of fossil fuels in Australia in 2016. If CommBank really cares about Australia's future then they should stop funding dirty coal now.
