Honest. Fair price. Fast turnaround. What more can you ask for? Here's my story (my spouse has a similar one): I've always been a DIY computer guy, not needing a geek to fix my IT stuff, but now I think different. So, my 3-year-old Dell desktop had a failing hard drive. (Long story short: couldn't create a recovery drive, Dell diagnostics said as much, and Computer Transformers confirmed I could trust the diagnostics--and they were 100% right!). End of story: I got a brand new sold-state drive (SSD), and now my computer boots in 10 seconds as opposed to before, which took longer than either of my two kids' labor and birth. (Okay, yes, that's an exaggeration, but, you know, the booting always seemed like forever, right?) And could I have bought the SSD and installed it myself for less than half the price? Yes, but it would have taken me at least a full day, not to mention two days worth of anxiety, and all along I felt like I was in great hands throughout, and I was in great hands. (Total price, btw--$160.) And I got my computer back from them--in better shape than before--in less than 24 hours from drop-off to pickup. You can trust these guys. They're the Statue of Liberty of Computer Repair!. As Emily Lazarus might have written for them: "Give us your tired, your poor, Your failing computers with age chewed up, The wretched refuse of computing yore. Send these, and we'll make sure they boot up, Give them new life, that's our life's chore." I know--very cheesy, but take my word, these guys are good. You can trust them.

Windows update completely bricked my laptop, and Windows 10 is setup so that you can only create a recovery disk from another Windows 10 computer with exactly the same specs. I didn't know anyone with a laptop just like mine, so found myself at Computer Transformers, following on the heels of all its great reviews on Yelp and Google. Walk-in basis where I dropped off my laptop at the store, explained what was wrong, what data i needed saved from the hard drive, and it was fine to wipe the rest of the machine clean. Owner was polite, knowledgeable, told me exactly what he was going to do to fix the issue and save my data, quoted price and repair time. Roughly $50 and ready in a day or two. Got a call the next day saying it was repaired and ready for pickup. On pickup he reiterated what was done to repair it, showed me where my necessary data and files was transferred and saved, and that he had updated my Windows 10 to the very latest update, so I shouldn't experience any problems with whatever Windows 10 update version had broke it in the first place. He made the process quick, easy, explained simply and lived up to his quote. The price was extremely reasonable, which is rare for computer repair these days, especially on my budget. Next computer issue that I can't repair myself, I'll be coming straight back to this store.

My laptop died and wouldn't start without a strange high-pitched screeching noise. I called Computer Transformers and Brian was patient, polite, professional, and respectful. He answered my questions over the phone and said that my computer issues might be the hard drive but that it depended and that it might be possible to revive the hard drive. He did some diagnostics over the phone and didn't rush me or the answers he provided, and didn't charge for a service call for the information. I brought my computer and he took the time to answer my questions and do diagnosing. After running a diagnosing program for about a day, he let me know that it was not making progress and that I would need to replace the hard drive. I was expecting the computer repairs to take a week or to be ready some time the week after Thanksgiving but he had my computer fixed in no time and before Thanksgiving. He also recycles/sends to recycle old/un-usable computers where they wipe the data prior to recycling at no charge so there is less waste in the environment. Service was good and prices were fair and better than what I was expecting. I would go to Computer Transformers for future needs and would recommend him to anyone that has computer concerns. Wow. It is hard to overstate how happy I am that I chose Computer Transformers to do major surgery on my MacBook Pro. I called multiple repair stores, and the responses varied from lukewarm to annoyance that I called at all. I knew within 20 seconds of talking to Brian that CT was the place for me and my Mac. Friendly, patient, clear, and very knowledgeable. Within 10 minutes all of my questions were exhaustively answered. So - I dropped off the Mac, and had the RAM upgraded, the hard drive replaced (from 256GB to 500GB; from mechanical to solid state), and - most tricky, leap-frogged from Snow Leopard to El Capitan. I cannot believe the results! Everything is completely seamless! All the work was absolutely perfectly done, even though I was expecting major kinks. There are no kinks - only "back to normal," which for me is the ideal outcome. The only difference is that now everything moves much faster than before. I am thrilled with Computer Transformers. Great experience! I knew that I found the right place the moment that I walked into the store and saw Star Trek pictures hanging across the room. I'm not very tech savvy myself -- but I am smart enough to know that any self-respecting techie is also a Treckie. Bullseye with both! Anyways, I had an issue with corrupted files on a USB Thumb/Flash Drive that were slowing killing my data. These files were built over a decade and extremely important. I got a shady vibe from a few other places that I called. Brian and crew made the experience painless and the price was fantastic. Communication and customer service were great -- which is super rare nowadays. I was in and out and on my way in one day. I highly recommend calling Computer Transformers if you're having issues with a corrupted USB Thumb/Flash Drive or any other computer restorations issues in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I wish I met these guys years ago! Honest, competent, and affordable makes them the only choice for computer repair in ABQ. Get this... I had a laptop that was slowly dying on me... touchscreen went out, then the screen went dim, then the battery grew to 10 times its size, pushing the keyboard out from the unit. I was able to replace the battery and recover my hard drive, but I counted the laptop as dead. I got a new desktop, not as fast, but I could back up my data from the laptop, so it worked. Then, on a lark and since Computer Transformers DOES NOT CHARGE if they can't fix it, I took it in for them to look at. I was ready to pay for an entirely new touchscreen but lo and behold, it was a loose cable! For $45, I have a like-new laptop humming along happily! Now I am going to take my desktop in to have them upgrade to an SSD drive. These guys are the very best!

Okay so I came here because of the highly rated reviews from other customers and I cannot say that I was led astray. My service was excellent, it was done very quickly, and the prices are the most affordable that I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Now it’s my turn to spread the karma and write a review like the customers before me. Can’t recommend this place enough! I brought in my MacBook Pro which had a faulty keyboard and trackpad and left feeling satisfied with a full functioning laptop. I would recommend calling in before visiting the physical shop to make sure that they have the computer parts needed to fix your problem. They had to order mine, so I came in 2 days later. Anyways, I don’t think I’ll even think about visiting the Apple Store for a fix in the future. Thank you again!

I was having startup problems with my Mac desktop, and had taken it to several experts who could only tell me that it was a hardware problem other than the hard drive, and that it wouldn't be easy to get parts for a seven-year-old computer. Then a friend told me about Computer Transformers; he had taken two PCs to them and couldn't say enough about the work they did. And that was my experience, too. C.T. diagnosed the problem, found a replacement part online, and only charged $45 for their work. They also cleaned the dust from the tower & components, and made a couple upgrades that went beyond the scope of the original repair. Brian, the guy who runs the shop, is approachable and genuinely concerned about doing quality work. From here on, I won't take my Mac anywhere else.

Actually, I went to different stores in the city' including Tech05 and they couldn't fix my problem. This store was amazing and thier price is very good and cheap as well in comparing it to the high leve of service you are getting. This shop saved my butt today. My battery wasn't charging, and using my laptop was a huge headache. I did a walk-in on a Friday morning, and these guys were able to quickly identify a faulty charger cable. The diagnosis took no more than 5 mins, and they didn't charge me for it (turned out to be a pretty simple check for them). They couldn't order a new cable until Monday, but after digging through their spare inventory, they were able to find a working cable right there in the shop. They gave me a good deal on their spare, and my computer is working like normal again. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. These guys were super helpful, and made the whole transaction easy and painless. Excellent service.

Computer Transformers is, without a doubt, one of the best experiences I have had upgrading my PC. I took a new build in yesterday and it was finished and ready to go within 24 hours. Beyond this, I want to highlight that staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative. I know a little bit about hardware, but I am by no means an expert. That said, every step of the way I was given honest advice and staff was not only able to make recommendations, but also explain what was being done in a way that was understandable to the average customer. Brian is a beast! I dropped my laptop, & almost messed it up trying to fix it on my own from a few videos I saw on YouTube. Very glad that I came in. Brian gave me a free Diagnosis, went above & beyond, & educated me on what was going on with my hard drive & the potential options I had to choose from. I had bought a computer second-hand and knew little to nothing about how to fix it whenever it ran into problems, but Brian at the shop always was really kind and patient and willing to help me. The prices for services I always found very reasonable. I was so happy with CT that I eventually saved enough to be able to get a new PC build and had them do it. Computer Transformers basically built it for free! Incredible service, just a delight. Also, establishment is LGBTQ+ friendly; I am trans and they are nice to me.

He is extremely qualified to repair PCs and Apples, and with the city's lowest flat rate you can't go wrong taking your problems to him. He has a very pleasant demeanor and is easy to deal with. He won't make you feel like you're wasting his time or talk in techanguage that you won't understand. He has been my go to guy for my constant Macbook issues. I called every computer repair business in the Albuquerque area. They all wanted to charge an arm and a leg for a busted screen. Would definitely recommend. Nice, explains everything without being condescending (which a lot of IT have trouble with, in my experience), very very reasonable price. I thought it was time to completely tank my system, but turns out it was just super dusty and, yeah, one heat sink was so old it was dried out. Cleaned it and fixed things up, giving me a bit more time with my 6 year old computer. And did it all in just one day, which is fabulous.

I went to go get my computer checked since it wasnt charging anymore. He did everything to help me get it working before he had to open it up but unfortunately it did have something wrong in the logic board. Ordered the part and had it done super quick! It's been a month and a half and it's running great! Will 100% come back to these guys if I ever need help again. Highly recommend! Labor was not ridiculously expensive what so ever either!

The people and service at computer transformers were wonderful! I needed an additional hard drive put into my computer, and after calling several places around town, they had the best prices and were the only ones that were straight forward and didn’t try to up-charge me for every little thing. Finally! A company that understands the proper way to do business. friendly and knowledgeable staff. They where working on my laptop on and off for over a week, when they diagnosed my problem (a faulty video card) they gave me a full refund, as it couldn't be repaired, and even helped me find a new computer. I can not say enough great things about this place! Brian was honest, helpful and fair. After spilling water on my MacBook keyboard and my computer shutting itself down I took it to the Apple store to see what could be done. I was told it would cost $1000 to repair. Instead I took it to Computer Transformers where they were able to repair it and it is as good as new with no loss of data for much less then $1000. Thank you Brian!!

I brought my PC in to have the power jack repaired. Prices are half that of other shops, and the service is twice as good! Brian was very candid about the process and costs. This shop is WAY better than anywhere else I have been for computer repairs. Brian also gave great advice regarding computer maintenance and antivirus software. I will definitely bring my computers here again, and will definitely recommend them to friends.

I have taken my Mac Book Pro there during xmas break. They had it for one month. I got it back and it worked well for about 2 days. It started crashing again. I took it back. They are working on it. I do have to say, I took an HP laptop there with multiple problems. They told me that it was not worth the cost it would take to fix it and instead sold me a comparable laptop for a reasonable price. Kudos to them for this!

Great shop. Across from UNM. Brian personally answered phone and my initial questions. No appt needed, so we went right in that afternoon. He immediately opened the laptop to see what was going wrong. Next morning he called to say that the solid state drive was failing. Don’t waste your time and money at stores like Best Buy that want to charge you fees worth nearly as much as a new computer! This place is awesome! They will give you a free diagnostic and charge a flat rate of $45 for labor if you decide to get it fixed. Any additional cost is just parts and you can bring your own parts in if you want to. Got my laptop back in less than 2 days, only paid the $45. Highly recommended.

I don't normally choose a business that was not personally recommended to me, but the reviews on Computer Transformers were so good that I decided to try it. Brian was so honest and fair that I trusted him to work on my pc. He did such a good job that I brought in my older MacBook that needed some work. Definitely take your computers here, my dell laptop had been having an error reading the video fan. I first took it to best buy to explain the problem and they wouldn’t even look in it and were ready to send it off for 2 weeks. I took my computer here and within 10 minutes we figured out the problem and it was as simple as something being stuck in the fan. Extremely nice people.

My laptop that I use for school crashed at the worst possible time. I came here and was helped quickly, much to my relief. The gentlemen (the owner, I believe) was also extremely pleasant which is always appreciated in a stressful situation. It is a little tricky to find the shop but there is usually a sandwich board sign near the street before the little parking lot.

I discovered this place about 5 weeks ago after being recommended by a friend. I have to say Brian was very polite and professional. External hard drive stopped working. I checked out many places online, and recovery costs were going to be $500 to $3000. I took the drive to Computer Transformers and they did it for $160 even through it took a couple days since read speed was so slow. Furthermore it's a small local business. Brian was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

Friendly and efficient service. Took my laptop in following accidental water damage, heard back <24 hours later that it was unfortunately dead. But they retrieved my data and even took time to search out the same model online to let me know about availability and price of direct replacements vs. having them buy new components and charging me.

Amazing customer service. The staff was extremely helpful. I called about a pc build I have that wasn’t functioning correctly. They tried troubleshooting over the phone and when that didn’t work I brought it in. They replaced a bad power supply and got my pc running all within the same day. Definitely check these guys out.

The fan on my lap top was starting to make noise, called around about getting it fixed and was told it could cost as much as $200 to repair. Computer Transformers replaced the fan for $45 plus the cost of the fan (they found a fan online for $20). They had it back to me the same day I brought it in. Excellent experience.
