Leaving 1 star because the person who is in charge of this account is a keyboard warrior and has no idea how to be nice or professional in the least bit. So, leaving this here specifically for the account’s keyboard warrior. ;) It’s not a public space, we get that and many tourists and New Yorkers alike are not aware that this is located in an area that is blocked off from public use. Even I didn’t know this, I was just trying to see if this area would be a cool location to watch fireworks from. It’s a lighthouse, of course people would want to see it and would be utterly disappointed if they traveled all the way there only to realize that it’s inaccessible. You should learn to be more polite as your replies are so rotten and rude just because your feelings are getting hurt over one star reviews. It’s not that big of a deal. Here’s another one to add to the mix, happy fourth! Cheers!

I actually had the pleasure of meeting up with the coast guard and doing work on the lighthouse back in 2015-16 I think it was. Went inside and everything, even climbed to the top. Cool experience! Lol at all the comments saying you can’t get in. No one is entitled to it. I was only granted this privilege because of official business. Leave your office jobs and work with your hands, maybe you’ll get to experience cooler things!
READ THIS BEFORE GOING The light is located inside a well guarded private gated community. The gates including pedestrian gate is staffed with guards. The community is fenced with barb concertina wire that gives the appearance of a prison or the Berlin Wall. Get permission from the community association or ask a resident for assistance.

Маленький не приметный маяк. Попасть туда совсем не просто. Находится он на частной закрытой территории, куда вход только по пропускам, из за этого расстроились и настроение войти внутрь и посмотреть совсем не было. Просто дошли и посмотрели со стороны.

I grew up I Sea Gate with this lighthouse providing its beacon at night. It was the last manned lighthouse in the U.S. Unfortunately no tours are provided at this beautiful landmark. It is now automated and is still shining its beacon through the night.
inaccessible to New Yorkers and tourists alike. weird little closed off/segregated neighborhood with prison barbed fences and security posted at several locations. how entitled and self important can people be?
It's in a private gated community It's closed to the public. You can see from the outside the lights shining on the water. It's fully automated, but you can still see the home of the last lighthouse keepper.
I tried to go there via Coney Island Beach broadwalk, but there are bars blocked to get into there. I tried to walk there via surf Avenue, but looks like a gate only allow certain people to get in.
My Uncle Frank Schubert ran the Lighthouse for many years. I used to vacation there in the summer when I was a youngster. Me and my cousin Ken would crank the weight up to turn the light.
it’s nice to walk by this high light house it’s nice to look at

Wow. What beautiful pictures you provided. A walk in history, love and family which is missing in todays society. Thank you for sharing.
The sea gate security stops you from going to see it even though it's not owned by them. Not worth your time walking there.
This is pretty awesome that I live just around the corner!... Love the fact that we have a lighthouse in our "backyard".
Nice view. To get to sea gate just mention to security guy any address and tell you are guest invited .
Seagate doesnt ownthe lighthouse so probably illegal to deny access. What else is new in new york☹
I lived in Coney Island from 1980 to 1992 and I didn't even know that light house was there!
Lugar hermosooo,no pasen por la bahía después de las 5 pm la marea sube y no puedes Salir
Inaccessible due to being in a gated community that doesn't let tourists through.
Not really accessible. It's in seagate, which is a private gated community.
You can never get close to it, because it's on closed / private territory.
