Since I originally posted the following review Conns cameras have edited there website to include the missing information which caused my issue, so have obviously seen my review and recognised their mistake. They how ever have not seen fit to reply, or explain the situation to me. Compounding the poor customer service unfortunately Conns. Orginal review from 07.10.22 follows:' I normally wouldn't consider leaving an online review.. negative or positive, but I feel the level of service and my overall experience of Conns Cameras was so poor, as to warrant doing so in this case. I am full time professional photographer based in co Mayo, and needed to rent some equipment for a once off job. After researching rental online I realized that my only realistic option was to travel to Dublin to rent the equipment in question. The Conns website has a well laid out dedicated rental page which I had studied, with information on the service, on which I had presumed all relevent details were included. I traveled across the county to Conns on a Thursday I had arranged to be free from work. On arrival and despite my polite attitude I was greated with an initallaly strange... leading into outrightly bizzarly sneering and aggravated attitude, seemingly for the audacity to ask too rent equipment there and then. Without being aware of needing to give 'at least 24 hrs notice' and to 'pre authorize' the rental. At no point were enquires even made as to what equipment I was considering renting, I was immediately met by a hostile and dismissive attuide. I left after 30 seconds empty handend, slightly bewildered to be honest. To travel home across the county. Again I would like to re-iterate I had read the full details on the rental page, and had arrived with the relevant documents, deposit etc as outlined. Nowhere is there mention or alluding too needing to provide 24 hrs notice, or notice of any sort. As I mentioned at the start of this review, I normally wouldn't consider leaving a review, but I feel the combination of this major oversight of an incredibly important detail on Conns website, combined with the attuide of the younger gentalman serving me, not to mention the travel cost and time wasted on that day... truely warrants it. As with any professional photographer I easily could spend multiple thousands in a particular year on equipment and services. Needless to say none of that money will be spent in Conns Cameras in the future. A genuinely disappointing and frustrating experience.

I had a really awful experience here. DO NOT get your film developed here. I shot a huge career project back at the beginning of June and had all of my negatives developed by their lab. The scans came back brown and grey with awful tones and the quality was terrible. I complained and after days of no response and follow-up, they finally refunded me just for the scanning fee. I then took my negatives to another lab based out of Spain to be re-scanned because the quality was so horrible and not up to par with a professional lab. This lab (they are very good with a great reputation) told me that not only were the scans terrible quality with strange colors but the actual negatives were damaged almost beyond repair and that Conns had damaged both the scans and the original negatives. I then paid double scanning fees by this lab to have the scans hand color corrected to try to save what quality that I could out of the images. So upsetting. I then came back to Conns to explain to them the situation and show them samples of what the other lab was able to correct in the images and ask for compensation for my damaged film. They tried to tell me that my negatives had some sort of “cast on them” which is why the scans came back of bad quality which is not true- I had some rolls developed from the same box, same shoot, same day sent to another lab and the scans came back beautifully. I don’t believe that Conns would have given me a partial refund had they not known they had done damage to my scans so trying to say it’s on me is ridiculous. I also didn’t appreciate the person on the phone telling me that I shouldn’t be shooting a full project on film because it’s not reliable when I have been doing this for years and every lab I have ever worked with has given me gorgeous results. Below the sample on the left is the corrected coloring from the second lab who rescanned (they corrected to the best of their ability with the damaged negatives) and on the right is the scan quality Conn’s deemed acceptable to send me.

I recently bought my first Nikon mirrorles camera. I always prefer to go to the store, but since due to current restrictions we are not able to travel, I decided to make an online purchase. Honestly, I don’t like online shopping, for several reasons, but I have to admit that this experience has fully encouraged me. I literally received the package the next day and the product was incredibly well protected. The whole process was incredibly enjoyable and the staff was extremely friendly, accommodating and professional. Namely, the product I wanted to buy was not available on their website, so I called the store to ask when they would get the camera I wanted to buy. The kind gentlemen immediately offered me an alternative over the phone so I was able to get the kit I wanted. Also, since due to technical problems by my bank I could not make the purchase immediately, I called the store once again to explain the situation and then I was told there was no problem, that they would put the camera kit aside until my payment was processed. In short, an extraordinary experience! All recommendations. Customer service is on a professional level. I have definitely found my own photo equipment store to which I will return in the future. Nice shop , friendly staff, good equipment , but an absolute rip off. I regularly buy A4 negative holder sheets and usually about 6 to 8 euro for pack of 50 (max price of 0.16 cent for one sheet). these guys charged me 0.75cent for one sheet , nd it's only paper (almost 5 times the price ) and this is from what the guy said was a "huge box of them that they use for themselves" . this is why Ireland is called RIP OFF IRELAND (R.O.I). Prices like that I certainly won't be back , this is an example of why I nd others shop online . Thanks for the reply , but unfortunately what u are saying is not really relevant . U are waaaaay over charging for sheets of paper. I purchased a 100pack of the exact same sheets from another shop in Dublin , price for 100 sheets was 17euro which is pretty much the standard price anywhere

Isn't the IT Crowd funny? Didn't we all laugh at how the clever and grumpy jerks in the IT dept mocked the idiots who didn't know anything about computers? How they hung up on people, and deliberately wasted their time. Hahaha. Now that, except its a camera shop, and you're the idiot. This is definitely a good place, if the people working there think you're clued up enough and serious enough to not treat you like you're subhuman. Unfortunately, this leaves out almost everyone in 2023, as most people that buy cameras aren't professionals. And if you're anything other than a middle aged man...shop online. You'll find better prices and less...arrogance. And if you're a woman... Just go somewhere else. You'll thank me later.

This is one of Irelands hidden gems. Conns Camera shops is situated in the heart of Dublin. At first glance you may think it -too small. But once you engage with the sales staff you quickly change your mind. I have been there several times. I have to admit I just go there to feel the weight of the camera or lens I want to buy. However, if I ask I am often directed to something, I may have never considered. I rarely buy from the shop, but leave with a head full of information. After exhaustive internet searches, I eventually make up my mind, and contact the patient sales staff !!! And place my online order, I have never been disappointed.

To be honest I was never treated so poorly in any shops I’ve been in my entire life. One friend gave me a camera he wasn’t using and I could see that it was dirty inside. I have my own camera but I wanted to clean this one to give to my sister as her first camera. I brought the camera to this shop and the person who “assisted” me was so rude with no reason. I explained that I wanted to clean the camera and he didn’t even let me finish and asked: “Do you want me to put my eyes in there?”. I don’t think this is the kind of question you should ask to a customer. Based on that experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Excellent service. I came in looking for photo paper, I had looked on the website beforehand but wasn't sure on what I wanted. When I went in I was attended to instantly and I was asked what type of paper I was looking for, and after I said what I wanted I got offered the exact option I was looking for at two different price points. The knowledge and customer service here is amazing and the staff are very nice. I have been here before and I have never had any bad experiences, but this experience was great and I'll definitely come back more!

They sold my friend a "special" film for his film camera that can't even be developed in Ireland. They didn't tell him that, so when he went to develop it the price was double, €20 at this time. Not only they first told that the film will be ready in 2 WEEKS, he also got an email saying that he's getting it in up to 4 weeks. Ripping people off for a few euros, people might loose businesses with this type of service. Shame, shame... Very unprofessional.

The NUMBER ONE camera shop in Dublin for me - superb staff that really know their camera gear and outstanding customer service. The print lab is also excellent and the only place I go when getting prints done for competitions etc. Been a customer for at least ten years and I can't recommend the Conns team highly enough.. If you're in Dublin and you need anything camera related then these guys are the ones to talk to.. you will not be disappointed

Rarely seen level of customer service. Had a fantastic experience in the store today. Could not have been better taken care of. I was able to play with all of the latest high-end cameras; picking and choosing whichever bits of kit I wished to pair it with. I was given ample time and helpful guidance on getting to grips with the cameras and this REALLY helped my decision making process. Will be visiting every time I'm in Dublin from now on.

I've been shopping with Conn's online for a few years now and I am still SO impressed by their customer service! Door to door delivery on several occasions (very often on the same day) plus their great selection of products to cover all of my needs from major equipment to spare parts and accessories/cables etc. I've purchased both new and used equipment and have never had a complaint. Would 100% recommend.

I bought a new Canon 90D and Canon printer from Conn's. I got absolute top class service. I cannot fault them one bit. I dealt with Bob himself who was an absolute gentleman. Came in for passport photo. The guy who took it could NOT have been more unhelpful. The photo was terrible, badly photo-shopped and really expensive. UPDATE: thanks for coming back and offering to retake the photo. I appreciate it. Yes you are right the photo was rejected as Photoshop was used. Maybe you could just have a word with the staff? I got the photo taken somewhere else as needed it urgently.

Wonderful little shop! Have purchased from them twice over the past week; once buying a new camera and lenses, then once to return one of those lens and exchange it for another, as well as picking up a couple of extra bits and pieces. The two staff members who looked after me, Emmet and Eamonn, were absolute gentlemen. Friendly, efficient, professional. This will be my go-to camera shop from now on!

Pleasant staff (hi Adam) spent time on me when making a large purchase, gave me discounts and overall left me convinced I made the right choice to buy here. While I might have possibly been able to save a tiny bit elsewhere, local retail presence in Dublin which let me try the equipment out and will be there for warranty, and excellent service, convinced me this is a good shop.

The best camera shop in Dublin in my opinion so far. Unlike Bermingham Cameras where the staff don't give an EFF about you as a customer or camera centre where often products can be over priced, this place has plenty of highly trained staff, lots of products and services at reasonable price and they even let you bring your e-bike into the shop. No problems what so ever so far.

If Conn's made lager it would probably be Carleberg. But Conn's is a camera shop and photography business that sets standards that others can only aspire to for customer service and unfailing advice. Most equipment is of a good standard but good advice matches you to equipment that suits your needs and is within budget. Conns have been my go to guys for forty years.

I am not a review person but I had to leave one this time. There was a small miss understanding at the beginning about some baby passport photos ( hence 4 stars), but they went above and beyond to accommodate my request. Ordered a drone and some accessories over the phone before Christmas. The lads who looked after me were friendly, knowledgeable and were very helpful. Brilliant service! I ordered a Fuji 35mm 1.4 lens on Wednesday afternoon and if arrived first thing Thursday morning. The lens is in perfect condition and I can’t wait to use it! Great experience with this place. I purchased online a Canon camera from them in Jan 2019. A few days back it stopped reading the SD card anymore. I went in there today with an old analogue Canon I got from my grand dad, not knowing much about it and then they took the time to show me everything I need to know and set me up so that I’m now ready to take the photos with it! I’ve been there a few times now and their always super friendly and helpful!

Unfortunately had a poor experience here a few months ago, very rude staff who were not helpful at all and turned myself and my friends off the shop entirely. Lied to my face about a product’s previous price, and had no customer service skills whatsoever. Would not recommend based off of the staff alone.

Nice store! They have a little bit of everything for everyone. I took my rolls of film to be developed and it took them just 1hr to do so. Very speedy service. Also the quality of the development was on point, no dust, scratches or fingerprints on my film I'm very happy and will come back again …

Mike and Bob run a great store here. Lots of specialist knowledge for any question you may have and a wide range of gear for anyone from a beginner/amateur up to the pro photographer. Well worth a visit for anything camera or photography related. Also you can print your photos on site if you wish to.

Searched Ireland without success for a particular Nikon battery. Amazon would not deliver batteries although they had it. Only place I found (at wits' end) was Conns. Not only that but they offered me the option of a cheaper equivalent. I was delighted to take both. AND was served with a smile.

My disposable pictures are always developed so fast and I am always so pleased with how they turn out. The only shop I have used for this service I can say that for! The staff at the shop are not only great at their jobs but they are so pleasant and helpful whenever I have dealt with them.
