"The experience at the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Birmingham for passport renewal was nothing short of appalling"
I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with the recent service I received at the Consulate of Pakistan Office in Birmingham. My experience has been nothing short of appalling, and I believe it warrants formal action against the individuals responsible. I had scheduled an appointment for a first-time passport application for my newborn baby. The appointment was confirmed, and I traveled from Bristol to Birmingham with my spouse, two children including newborn baby under extreme challenging weather conditions. Upon arrival, I was initially asked to wait for several hours while the concerned personnel took their lunch break despite of my confirmed appointment. After waiting for an unreasonable amount of time, I was instructed to make multiple photocopies, incurring additional expenses which was not mentioned on their online website while booking an appointment as a requirement of those additional documents. To my utter dismay, I was then informed that my application could not be processed in Birmingham due to the distance from Bristol and that I should proceed to London. This was particularly disheartening considering that my relatives always obtained passports from Birmingham in the past. Following significant delays and arguments, the consulate staff finally agreed to process my application. However, the ordeal had already caused immense disruption, causing us to miss our return train and requiring us to book a hotel in Birmingham for the night to ensure the well-being and rest of our children. This resulted in substantial additional expenses due to last-minute hotel bookings. I am deeply troubled by the unprofessional conduct and negligence exhibited by the consulate staff in Birmingham. Their actions caused unnecessary inconvenience, distress, and financial burden, particularly for a mother with a newborn baby. Therefore, I formally request that you investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate disciplinary action against the individuals responsible for this unacceptable service. My primary objective is to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future, especially for mothers with newborn parents.
Worst experience of my life! It comes as no surprise that they speak limited English there which puts some of us at a disadvantage as we don't speak Urdu/Punjabi. The staff are very rude I was there for my appointment time and talked to rudely till I told the person I don't understand what he was saying. I was then made to go and correct an error on my part which wasn't a problem as it was my fault and my first time filling out the form, but when I went back they said they were going on break 10 minutes early so I had to wait an hour and 10 mins for them to have a break which was really annoying considering they left for an early break. Eventually, my paperwork was all completed and the guy said are all the details correct in a rush. I replied yes, but I'm sure they're supposed to double check that everything matches? The customer service is non existent!! If you try phoning them you'll never get through, they never answer. The one time I phoned an emergency number on their site and the person which replied said text the problem which I did and he didn't reply. After a few days I messaged him asking why they have numbers and emails and that they'd save money getting rid of them altogether as they don't use them and he said send me your query again, which I did and no reply. Honestly, they should get rid of their phone lines and email addresses they'd probably save some money in costs as you'll never get through to them and when you do they'll cut you off
I visited couple of times this consulate of Pakistan for different kind of services on different times. They have occupied office in one of the most expensive area of city infact heart of city centre as per royalty service style of Pakistani officials all over the world. Pakistan portraits as poor country that's why want to have most expensive area to rent for serving their nationals without considering comfort of visitors. During my every visit any on call services, I always felt like I'm dealing someone in National bank or Pakistani police station or Kachehri for some public services and they are really enjoying their Desi mahol and Bearley like to serve or accommodate anyone without reference just like in Pakistan. Parking vehicles is an issue over their and now it is heard that there is some private parking operator but consulate doesn't know who gave contract and who operates that parking area just outside their door which is a private property and they are paying charges for operating office over there.
My visit was very smooth. Detailed information was provided at the time of appointment booking. Staff was very helpful and cooperative. It took only 90 minutes for us to do our PoA attestation and passport application. I have seen people having aggressive attitude towards consulate staff due to their own mistake. One lady didn't bring her original ID card and was blaming staff that they didn't informed her to bring one which is ridiculous. Our such attitude only comes up when we are in our government facility. When we go to any UK government offices we show too much obedience there. Our consulate staff should also take strict measures against any un-social behavior. When you go to consulate have photocopies of every document you are taking with you.
The experience at the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Birmingham for passport renewal was nothing short of appalling. The staff exhibited a shocking level of disrespect and indifference, as if customer service was nonexistent. Despite having a booked appointment, the waiting times were unbearably long, revealing a disorganized and chaotic environment. The refusal of service without a valid reason only added to the frustration. The behavior of the passport office personnel was not just unprofessional but downright offensive. This consulate, unfortunately, stands as a stark example of incompetence and disrespect in the realm of public service.
1st visit I was lost outside. Couldn't tell where to go inside from outside. The entrance door looks like a fire exit door. All the staff at the reception desk were extremely helpful for both of my visits and so were all the other staff in the building. Except for the guy on the left in the office that handles the paper work for the renewal of passport. He looks in his 50s. He was very condescending to a client in front of me in visit 1 and then to me in visit 2. Ruined the great experience.
Professional staff, adequate facilities, they have a Photo Booth and a printer / photocopier that accepts contactless as well. There is even a female prayer room. BIG PLUS: There is free parking on site!! Reception staff was very nice they guided me through all the steps. Alhamdulillah after the experience I can proudly say I am Pakistani :) Grateful to the administration / consulate staff you are a benchmark for others… may Allah reward you all
Pakistani Birmingham Counselor is a very helpful office for Pakistani Citizens The environment of the consulate is good, they talk in a good way. I visited twice. Phone line service is the best. Someone will answer you quickly when you call during office hours. But the call service of the Pakistan London Embassy is very bad. They do not pick up calls for hours. The service of the payment machine and photo copying is excellent.
Hi this is Nasir khan today I went Birmingham Counslate in passport section with my son we had interview notification.in office I had great experience with passport office staff they are so much cooperative helpful really they are their for help they explain all issue with brife also they sort it out my issue the other staff guide aswell very well well done it’s unbelievable thanks for everything god bless them
Place is ok. No clear instructions incomplete info on the website or on site. No mention of how or when the procedure will start. We got there and were told to print copies of certain docs but this should have been mentioned on website. Everyone was going to the passport office and the staff was telling you're supposed to wait and well call you on your token turn but there's no instruction on that.
Its nightmare to deal with this consulate. Staff is very rude and disrespectful towards clients. They should be helpful and kind towards their own country people. There is need to appointment more senseable and kind staff. There is no coordination between departments. It feels like I came to third world country consulate. Old and nasty procedures. Very disappointed with their service.
I had an experience of Pakistan Consulate Birmingham for making my Police character certificate.it was Warm welcoming, well organised, friendly environment and quick service. Staff is very professional, Specially Sir Aftab Malik very supportive and helping person he loves to help people.it is must to inform that you have an appointment in advance upon your arrival to the consulate.
I went in relation to attesting power of attorney. Very happy with quick stright foward process. Bring copies of all documents or you be paying per page with on site photocopiers. They have photo booth if you don't have photos on site... check images for pricing. Good clean toilets Lift is avaliable for disabled users UBL Paying mechine accept both cash and card
What an amazing service we received by Arslan at the Nadra/ID card counter. He’s been extremely polite and helpful from the start to the end, not to forget the gentleman at the reception desk who explained my question regarding the new passport in more detail then the actual passport related staff on the first floor. Thank you, keep up the good work
Very undisciplined and unprofessional environment, they even can't speak English properly, It's 2023 and they are still using Windows XP for all their systems and we all know that windows already discontinued windows XP and Windows 7's security updates. They can't respond to calls if you have any enquiry and personally tried hundred of times but no luck.
Want there to renew my passport, but the que had taken much time than originally stated appointment time, appointment letter shows that the urgent passport would be renewed in 10 days but the produced a paper showing 40-50 days, no proper guidelines........ although the staff was cooperative, but some of them were absolute knobheads
Had a appointment for police character certificate. Got entertained by Malik Aftab. He guided me through all the steps and made it very easy for me. He even called me to inform me that my certificate is ready to collect. Such a nice and humble person. We need such people in our community. Had a lovely experience.
Worst experience staff are soo slow take copies of everything others you have to pay 50p a sheet, and make you wait forever cause there too busy not doing there jobs and make u wait half a day came in at 10am 11:38 now but still need to wait 30mins to an hour. Worst experience ever doesn’t even deserve one star
I applied for character certificate and I got it within a week. This is very helpful service for those looking for police character certificate. Staff was very cooperative and helpful. Environment was clean with facilities like photocopy and photograph. Thanks to Aftab Ahmad sb who deal my case. Nice person.
Rude staff no manners at all can't there lucky they speaking from behind the window, also do not park at the embassy as they have a company called IPC and will fine you £100 but to pay £60 in 14 days , sad thing is there is no where to purchase a ticket also so DONT PARK THERE !!!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
CHECK YOUR DETAILS on the form they give you to get witnessed. It is common for their to be spelling mistakes. Apart from that, speedy service and nice officers. Any problems dealt with swiftly and reasonable fees. No need to go to scam agents in the community. Very happy with service.
I needed to apply for new passport so visited Birmingham Consulate. Mr Aftab Ahmed Malik guided me with the correct advice and accepted my application during his lunch hour. He showed empathy and is dedicated towards his job and i found him to be very helpful individual. Thank you
If I could give it a zero I would. They are not helpful at all. They make their own rules each time you visit. The man at the power attesting window I believe Mirza is very bad. He was very very rude on both occasions of my visit. I would definitely complain about him.
Very good service I received my Character Certificate within a week Aftab Ahmad Malik and aijaz hussain jatoi and andan mirza very cooperative and professional staff from attestation department, I really appreciate to them. The team is very kind and supportive.
Aftab Ahmad Malik sab really helpful and supportive person, he did my application very quickly and done it very professionally, due to some personal issue i was late to collect my documents, he waited for me in consulate as i needed it urgently
I have been here 5 years ago and didn't see any professionalism and helpful. I am shocked today, staff are helpful and working within the policy. Thanks, Machine readable Passport department, Nadra and attestation. I had used all 3 departments
Thank you so much the honourable Consulat of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Birmingham your service is really good. Especial thanks to Mr ayub and Syed Asif in MRP department. I received my passport in time. …
Very pleasant visit for a community event . Well organised. Good facilities available - although a prayer room or separate area could have been provided knowing the audience attendees and the timing of the event.

Some issues delayed my documents but Mr Ftab Ahmed Malik and Jatoi Aijaz are very co-operative. They are really caring and considerate towards public.
