If I can give a 0 star, I would. There are only two rooms open. One room with a single display of a mudded hay lion, the other room with a fridge that has 4 bushes of flowers (apparently) bought from a nearby flower shop. There were a few groups of visitors who came in and were quickly confused if they had come to the right place. Someone stood in front of the receptionist/cashier/concierge, deliberately facing her to try to get her attention. But she's comparably deliberate, intentionally fixated her eyes to the computer screen to avoid a question. The pictures here on Google Maps are not the reflection of this place anymore. Those I believe are before the pandemic. Now the business that gets to this situation might be directly damaged by the pandemic. Contemporary art is a hard and fluent business. I hope this business can get itself up from the damage soon to live up to the name again.
I lived nearby this gallery for 2 years and everytime I visited it I was confused and disappointed by the exhibits. It's free to visit and the space itself is nice so it doesn't hurt to pop in for a minute. Many of the exhibits I saw were things like scribbles on pieces of paper (and not just one, but a whole room full), projectors with slide shows of random photos, a room with a few small geometric shape sculptures. Stuff like that.
Small and intimate gallery containing two rooms of contemporary art hosted by knowledgeable curators. The cag is the oldest gallery of its type in Vancouver and is worth a look, won't take much more than 30-50 minutes. They offer free lunchtime tours which are a great way to be introduced to the space. There's also a small bookshop and reference area. Free entry. #cag #gallery #modernart
A tad underwhelming but amazing art. The museum is limited to just two galleries that are a tad larger than an average classroom. What it lacked in size it made up with the ART. The art was very interesting and different than anything I have experienced before. Do see the museum if your in town. The best part is the entrance fee is free. Enjoy if in Vancouver...
I lived upstairs for 5 years. I walk by it everyday and only walked in once or twice. The exterior is not inviting at all as it doesn’t even look like art to me. CAG is an art gallery but the C doesn’t stand for contemporary. Their art appears to be more political than creative and artistic. Not thought provoking. Two stars for lacklustre effort.
Everyone is welcome to see the exhibitions free of charge. The space is nice and well informed. When I was there I got to learned about how deaf people are living within our society. It was an interesting topic I never thought about. If you are interested in art, definitely check this place out. There is a public parking close by too.
It was much smaller than I expected, but admission is free/by donation. I enjoyed going through the exhibits. It's a quick cultural stop among shopping/eats nearby on Granville - It would probably take 20 min to go through everything.
Disappointed. Visiting from Vancouver Island and came into the city hoping to go to the gallery. It was closed. Too bad it says it's open on the website. Closed till Nov. 12th. Hope we can go again sometime when we're in town.
Disappointed primarily only 3 artists better for a small Indepependant gallery then one that represents your city

There was hardly any art and what was there looked extremely basic and had no depth. The “art” was scotch taped to the wall. Yes art is subjective but it should also at least be interesting.
Good spot for art work that doesn’t sacrifice meaning for the sake of creativity. Plus some lovely people who are willing to have a nice conversation.
Incrível ver por meios virtual e curioso para ir pessoalmente com Meu portifólio de Artes jaelsomoart Meu Instagram …
The guy at front desk when I went, around Thurs at 4, was super nice and friendly and answered all my questions. Above Satisfactory visit.
A small gallery with some nice contemporary arts. The current featured artist is Kim Beon, a renowned modern Korean artist. Nice work.
Great space. Love Christine’s work seen here. Glad to catch it. She does prints too, she’s worked with El Nopal Press in Los Angeles.
I'd love for the gallery to close a little bit later, but when it's full of expositions it's a really good place to spend some time.
Very small gallery, two rooms only, cannot go up the upper area, although the hostess there was very cute, friendly and charming..

Una vergüenza para el arte contemporáneo. Pobre. Muy pobre. Canadá puede exponer muchísimos trabajos realmente interesantes.
Small gallery, only need 15-20 minutes to visit. Free entrance is nice.

For what i saw, it was terrible. Maybe everyone else saw something different and i got stuck with art thats not the best
Wonderful place to visit while wondering through downtown Vancouver. Gallery is small but the exhibits were interesting
Space is small, but definitely a nice destination to head to when you’re in the area. Why not see some free art?
Honestly I was expecting so much more. Although it is a free admission, I was not impressed with the small space
Stopped in on a whim and it was quite a neat experience. Super small and intimate space with some unique works.
interesting art and really welcoming staff, who encouraged conversation and answered questions with enthusiasm.
This tiny art gallery offers cutting edge exhibitions that will make you think and get ya right in the feels.
I hope they could have a bigger space in the future, always a great spot to go when you want to see some art.
Not for everyone. Contemporary art is always controversial. I was not impressed but you might love it.
Small considering it’s a contemporary art gallery.. but works since it is in the centre of the city.
2 small rooms with quite controversial art. We thought it was a joke that such a "gallery" exist...
I was impressed by the art but iqually by the well informed helpful staff. Great place to explore.
Very nice small contemporary public gallery in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Free to the public
Tiny little gallery but the work was lovely. A nice gift shop as well. In the heart of yaletown
Nice place, it's smaller than I thought but still really interesting would visit again
Visiting here is great no need to pay just donate. 15 mins that's all you need.
Good thing it's free because it's not much! Nice to see local artists though :)
Two small galleries, well done exhibits but not much variety between galleries.
Very small place with a couple of tiny exhibitions, not very exciting to me.
Interesting exhibits. Sponsors exhibits at other locations eg transit busses
Maybe this type of art is not for me? Didn't get it and it's only 3 rooms.
Small. Boring. Neither aesthetically pleasing nor intellectually engaging.
The servers are a bit snobbish but I really like their service at all!
Nice art. Like it .Would get painting from it. Nice lay out of art.
Small gallery, not many thinga to see. Interesting nevertheless.
If you spend more than 10 minutes here you are doing well.
뭐 이상한거 찍어놓고 자리차지하는거 있음. 그정도면 내가찍어서 걸어놔도 되겠음. 선정적인것도 있음.
Lovely. Art choices questionable at times. Too small.
