So thankful to have Coral Way Animal Clinic in Miami/Coral Gables area. Where do I even begin with Dr. Paez and his team… This is not the first time Dr. Paez has helped me when my miniature cockapoo Benji was in dire need of intervention. My first experience with Dr. Paez was when Benji was an 8 week old puppy and arrived from the breeder with a potentially fatal parasite. Dr. Paez treated Benji immediately and my little guy was 100% in no time. Mind you, all the research I had done told me that the odds of this parasite persistently coming back are high and it could be very problematic for his health at such a young age. This was my first experience and it was done to perfection. Straight forward fecal exam, no extra unnecessary tests, clear diagnosis and treatment, attention to detail, etc etc. My most recent experience (4 years later- we’ve been lucky) with Dr. Paez was when my boy came down with potentially life threatening Acute Pancreatitis if not treated swiftly with proper protocol. I called the office and they brought me immediately in to have Benji looked at (within an hour- and they had other patients). Dr. Paez ran all tests necessary to rule out issues and uncover the correct one. His symptom was vomiting with a high amount of blood, I.e., the vomit was entirely pretty much blood. Dr. Paez checked for all issues that he recommended be checked and which I wanted and agreed to have checked based on my own research. Was it a parasite? Foreign body/object in his system? Something else? Dr. Paez did a full review of blood work, fecal examination, and even a highly intelligent and modern x-ray “SignalPet” which I read great things about. Most vets will tell you X-rays do not pick up any foreign body objects, but Dr. Paez has the very best technology for his patients giving reliable results. Within minutes of running these tests himself personally, Dr. Paez returned with the diagnosis. I was given a thorough and complete review of the X-Ray, bloodwork results, and fecal exam results - all emailed to me additionally same day. He recommended strongly that we leave Benji in his care for treatment. I have never had to leave my boy with the vet before and was extremely unnerved and upset by the diagnosis of Acute Pancreatitis as it can become very serious. He gave me the patience and understanding I needed to arrive at the right decision- to leave him with Dr. Paez. I explained that he has never spent any time in a cage in his life, and that this would be very scary for him. Dr. Paez reassured me that he would be mildly sedated and would sleep most of the time which put me at ease. This was a Saturday, so naturally I wanted to know what Benjis progression had been into Sunday, but most vet clinics are typically closed on Sunday’s. That said, I made a phone call to the office on Sunday to check in on Benjis progress. Dr. Paez answered the phone personally at 9am and let me know that Benji was responding well to treatment and was doing fine. He would be ready to go home very soon. All in all, this doctor is patient, rational, thorough, realistic, kind, and devoted to his craft. He is extremely knowledgeable and does not overmedicate, overtest or do anything beyond what is needed. A true professional. Thank you, a million times over Dr. Paez !!! Manuel, Benji and me are so thankful.
Oscar or whoever wrote me back . I don’t know who this is writing this but you must not have been there upon my visit. I chose the treatment because I trusted Dr. but unfortunately that trust was taken as an opportunity to unjustly treat my dog. There is absolutely NO need to sedate a dog for 48 hours (two painful shots on the head, one behind each ear!) to take a simple x-ray! That is absolutely absurd. The vet-client relationship was destroyed when you took advantage of your client because you saw the voulnurability as an opportunity to sign me up for a credit card to then over charge me for unnecessary treatment followed by a misdiagnosis! I was even told to leave him over night in a tiny cage! I returned because I had to go spend more money at another vet to get a proper diagnosis which was kidney stones which had nothing to do with his spinal cord. HE LIED TO MY FACE ! You can not see a spinal cord issue in an x-ray! You never mentioned any kidney stones and when I went back to ask you to show me the stones on the x-ray, you were unable to even find them on there the which makes me question if it was even my dog’s x-ray I was shown. I was never given 3 images, which is another lie. And finally, what did you know was going to happen sooner or later? That my dog was going to continue getting sick under your care because you needed more money for your new practice or that you were going to make sure that I had money for all of the fantom illnesses you were going to come up with to continue charging me. I will not allow “Dr” to shut me up or try to belittle me like he did when he screamed at me at threatened me to kick me out of the practice when I went to ask for clarity. You guys are outrageous and I hope no one ever has to go through anything like this in their life. Our animals are our lives and unfortunately some people just use that as golden ticket to abuse their position and make money. I have been going for years unfortunately the last one it was the worst experience ever , they overdosed my dog for a bad X-ray , in which they did not even see the stones my dog has in his kidney and their prices are insane now . When I went to do the claim the owner treat me very VERY rude. They tried to keep my dog for an unnecessary hospitalization just to charge me 1650 usd. And did a lot of tests that weren’t necessary just to charge you more. Not fair !
My boyfriend and I recently moved from New York and bought two 10 week old puppies from a breeder. I had wanted to rescue but couldn’t find any small dogs in the area. I was hoping that if I got them from the breeder they would be very healthy dogs who were taken care of. Unfortunately, I was very wrong. I brought them to a different vet in North Miami and found out they had two parasites, gerardio and coccidia. They weren’t able to treat them so I had to go somewhere else. I was highly recommended to Coral Way Animal Clinic by a coworker and let’s just say they have gone above and beyond to help my two little puppies. I had to keep them at the clinic for a week so they could get treated from the parasites. Then soon after found out that they also had parvo and kettle cough. I felt like my whole world was falling apart but Doctor Paez and his daughter Leo, Doctor Paez’s sister, Chey and the rest of the staff members there have treated my two puppies as they’re own. They answer my 50 calls a day and take time to answer ALL my questions. Both Chey ans Leo, would constantly text me videos and pictures of both my puppies while they were staying at the clinic and answer my calls and texts on their days off. I have texted and called the doctor on his days off. He answers me and comes in if the dogs need to be looked at right away. One night, at midnight I was sobbing because one of my dogs Winston didn’t stop coughing. I texted him a video and called him and he said to bring him in right away. He gave him some medicine that calmed him immediately and the next day found out he had kettle cough. I was beyond thankful that he woke up to leave his house to come in and treat my puppy. My dogs are now two very healthy and happy puppy’s and would not have been able to get through all of this without the doctor and his amazing team!! I still text and call them with questions and they ALWAYS respond to me right away and I’m so thankful to have found such an amazing clinic I can trust my babies with!!! If I could give him way more than 5 stars I would!! I’m beyond great full and would highly recommend this doctor to anyone and even want me family in NY who have dogs to fly over just to go to him!!
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this veterinary clinic! It was a breath of fresh air after the disappointment we faced at another vet that lacked empathy for us as pet parents. From the moment we stepped foot into this clinic, we felt like our baby dog was being treated like true royalty. They truly went above and beyond to take care of all of her needs. One of the biggest advantages of this place is their extended hours of operation. Staying open until 10pm and offering overnight services made all the difference for us. It meant that our fur baby could receive the proper and thorough treatment she needed without the added stress of having to make multiple trips to and from the vet. It was a huge relief for us as pet parents. During her stay, our dog received exceptional care. The team at the clinic ensured that she was continuously monitored and provided with fluids for a period of two days. This extra attention and treatment had a remarkable impact on her pancreatitis. Considering her age, it was incredibly heartwarming to witness the humane treatment she received. Even after we brought her back home, we had to follow up numerous times for information and guidance. The staff at the clinic were always friendly and helpful, promptly providing us with all the pertinent details we needed. In particular, Rafael stood out for his unwavering kindness and attentiveness towards both us and our furry family member. A standout feature of this clinic is that it is a family-owned business. Witnessing the father and daughter working together to ensure the well-being of our precious dog truly touched our hearts. Their dedication and commitment were evident throughout our entire experience. Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly recommend this veterinary clinic to every pet owner out there. Our 100% recommendation speaks volumes about the exceptional level of care and service we received. If you're searching for a place where your furry companion will be treated with the utmost love, respect, and expertise, look no further. You and your pet will be in the best hands possible at this remarkable clinic.
If I could give this clinic 0 stars I would.. On Thursday October 26th our dog was showing signs of respiratory problems. After googling to see what clinic was open at 10pm we found Coral Way Animal Clinic. We went in where we were greeted by a nurse technician and later seen by the doctor. Our dog is a soon. to be 10 year old American Bulldog. He isn't fixed and has been for a better word "spoiled"inside dog all his life never showing any discomfort, problems etc. When we were finally seen by the doctor we were told our dog had a tooth infection and an ear infection. While we understood he may have those issues the issue at hand was his breathing which was atypical for him. After basically being criticized for not neutering our dog, the clinic at 10:30pm decided that it was imperative to neuter a 10 year old dog that was having respiratory problems. We basically had to lie to the nurse technician that was on staff to take our dog home since they were so adamant on fixing a 10 year old dog and would not let us leave without a feeling of guilt. In no moment did Coral way animal clinic try or seemed interested in diagnosing why our dog had difficult breathing. They gave us a quote for $3,000.00 to neuter the dog and clean his ears while throwing in nail clipping and tooth removal. We finally left after paying the $200.00 emergency visit. Thankfully we were able to take our dog to AWS on coral way were they not only told us that it wasn't recommended to neuter a dog if that age but they were against it. After receiving the proper diagnosis we were told our dog has some fungus that can be treated with medication and that he had no ear infection and any tooth removal was seen as a secondary care and would not be advised to do until we cleared the dog's breathing. Please consider where you take your pets, some people in this world prey on peoples pain and thats what Coral Way animal clinic tried to do to us that night.
My 13 yr old rescue Shih-Poo who is usually very well behaved decided to eat an entire cob of a corn one night while we were not looking. I know how dangerous this could be, especially for a dog her size. After keeping a very close eye on her for the night and the next day, it was evident that she was in some pain late in the afternoon of the next day. I called the clinic very nervous with the situation and Rafael answered the phone. After telling him what was going on, he very calmly but surely told me I should bring her in and told me they’ll be waiting for me. Long story short, Rafael and Dr. Paez Castro were amazing, even with how busy the clinic got all of a sudden at that time of night. Rafael made sure to communicate with me at all times keeping me informed of what was happening and sincerely apologizing for the wait. With such great communication and the very evident compassion I observed in both Rafael and Dr. Paez Castro, I told Rafael that it was ok, and truly meant it. When it was our turn, my puppy was very quickly and diligently attended too. When the Dr. had all the results ready, he shared and showed me everything including the X-rays and blood work, going over everything with me and putting me at ease. The fact that I was able to see everything and not only have a Dr. tell me what was going on was amazing! Thankfully the results showed that even though the pieces of the cob were still in her system, everything seemed to be moving along as it should and that the pain was mostly due to …. Gas…. Thanks to the Dr. and Rafael’s patience and help that night, my pup and I returned home much much more at ease and I was able to sleep that night. Which I very much needed as the night before I had not been able to because of the worry and making sure I was keeping an eye on my doggie watching out for any alarming symptoms. Thank you ver very much guys! Truly appreciate it!
I went to this veterinarian with my pup for X vaccine, but was erroneously administered Y vaccine. This seemed shocking to me considering that I asked the veterinary technician twice whether the vaccine administered was X, and was reassured both times. Regardless, I came in the next day to get the correct vaccine administered, and was then met with an additional charge for the vaccine. They were trying to charge me for a vaccine that they should have administered the day before, but due to a professional mistake, failed to do so. When speaking to the vet about the charge, he spoke over me, contradicted himself several times, and refused to accept his mistake. The guy barely let me get a word in between his convoluted explanations. This doesn't even account for them charging me for a "physical" when all they did is vital signs and an injection, AKA a follow-up. A ridiculous cash grab. Mind you, they won't even ask for nor record your pet's medical history, even for a first time visit. This would've been a simple way to prevent this mishap, but is yet another sign of their negligence. The experience was unprofessional and dispiriting. I've been to vets in the past who have admitted to and resolved their errors in a professional, courteous, and prompt manner. This was not my experience at Coral Way Animal Clinic and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your pet's care. Edit: Note how they're still completely invalidating my experience in their response and misplacing blame. They administered the wrong vaccine and did not inspect my pet's medical records to prevent that from happening. There's no question about it. Please stay away-- Dr. Khuly at Sunset Animal Clinics is above and beyond, especially compared to this experience.
Probably one of the worst vet experiences I have ever had. Arrived at 10 minutes before my 5:45pm appointment but Dr. Oscar Paez Castro attended us 30 minutes after leaving us in the room. When we were finally attended, we told him we would like a general checkup and vaccines, but we expressed we wanted to do Bordetella for another date. Despite communicating to them that we did not want to do Bordetella, he still gave my dog Bordetella. When finalizing the visit, I told him I will not be paying for a service I did not request, which he understood at first. Upon reading in between the medication, they gave us for worms and the itemized bill, I realized they charged us 35 qty when it was 14 qty on the bottle. This just shows they were trying to mask the mistake they made. I called them in regard to the cost and they left me on hold for 10 minutes, so I went back to ask in person. Front desk stated it was a system error, yet why couldn't he tell me on the phone? and please, I hardly believe that was true. I stated that so called Dr. should be out here addressing my concerns, it's not a good image to be hiding on "break" for their mistake. We also asked for a copy of my pet's medical history, but they gave us the receipt for the bills paid today. At the end of the day, we were issued a refund which I hope reflects on my account and Front Desk emailed me my pet's medical history. This was easily preventable.
I've seen many vets over the years in NYC and Miami for my senior dog, and Coral Way is hands down the best. During a recent scary bout of pancreatitis, I felt that my normal vet just wasn't able to help her recover nor help us understand what we can do to help her get better. she was on IVs at her normal vet daily and then had to go home at night. Finally I looked for other solutions and found Coral Way as I saw other reviews about Dr. Paez helping dogs with pancreatitis and that they offered overnight care. I brought her in and he came out to see her in the waiting room as soon as I arrived. So caring, so gentle, I knew we were in good hands right away. He took the time to explain this condition and the complexities of care for it. They did x-rays and ultrasound, and took the time to explain why it was needed, unlike other vets I've seen. They also had significantly more reasonable prices than any other vet I've seen in south east Florida. We left Grace there for 2 nights for fluids and the care she received was wonderful. I've never had to leave her overnight with a vet before, and they kept me updated until 11pm on her condition, and then again in the am. She is recovering well now, and Coral Way has a new devoted patient and parent. Thanks to Dr. Paez, Lenore and the whole staff for their help.
If I could give zero stars I would. If you value your time and love your pet, DO NOT GO THERE !!! Called for an emergency apt for my dog (he has a bloody cyst on the leg) and I they gave me the 1st apt the next day at 9am - which I thought was super nice and convenient. My husband went at 8h45 and at 9h45 the vet still wasn't there. It was a complete waste of time. After complaining about waiting for almost an hour, the vet tech said to leave the dog for the day and said it would probably need a surgery and stitches although HE HAD NOT EVEN LOOKED AT THE LUMP YET and HE IS NOT A VET NOR A TECH ! He was trying to put up estimates which felt more like a sales person than a professional service. The fact that the vet was that late is completely unprofessional, and the "quick diagnostic" without even looking at the cyst did not make us feel comfortable so my husband left (after basically wasting over 1 hour on a work day) and decided to wait and go to our regular veterinarian at the Silver Bluff Animal Clinic. Even though they didn't have immediate availability they told us to send a picture so they could look at it and gave us advice on what to do. Their service is way better and way more professional.
I cannot speak highly enough about the exceptional care my furry friend received at this animal clinic. From the moment we walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Rafael was the first to greet us and he was so kind. The clinic itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a calming atmosphere that immediately put both me and my pet at ease. The veterinarian here is so professional. He took the time to thoroughly examine my pet, answer all of my questions, and explain the treatment options in a way that was easy to understand. It's evident that they prioritize the well-being of the animals under their care. What sets this clinic apart is the level of personalized attention they provide. They treated my pet as an individual, taking into account their unique needs and preferences. The follow-up care was also outstanding, with Rafael checking in to ensure my pet was recovering well. The pricing is transparent, and I felt that the quality of care my pet received was well worth the cost. If you're looking for a top-notch animal clinic with a compassionate staff and excellent veterinary care, this is the place to go. This will be Toby's forever vet moving forward :)
ZERO ZERO. THIS GUY PAYS FOR GOOD REVIEWS. HE ONLY CARES ABOUT HIS MONEY. HE IS A SCAMER. HE HAD DOG BITE MARKS IN HIS ARM. I SHOULD of taken that as a sign but he made me think my dog was going to die. And, I asked him not to do anything without authorizing it. This morning, the front desk guy told me the dog was perfectly fine and didn’t throw up and then he charged $95 because she was throwing up. Which was a complete lie. Then I asked a question very calmly and he began screaming at me. I couldn’t believe it. This is the first bad review, I’ve written in my life. i Follow the pattern of what people say. All his equipment is old and he will pretend to care but he doesn’t. And if you don’t believe me. Just look at him and talk to him for 5 mins. You’ll know. Energy never lies. I feel so bad I didn’t go to someone else because I thought it was more serious than it actually was. I had seen a few bad reviews and his reply to those comments. They were so rude, unprofessional and nasty. Ironically, how I neglected that and he was so disrespectful and mean. I am sure he will try to justify it with something but if you care about your dog. Take him to a hospital or somewhere else.
I basically thank GOD for putting Coral Way Animal Clinic on our way. After almost 25 days with my dog paralyzed from his waist down with IVDD, and calling/consulting many clinics where they wanted to charge us so much money $$ for a surgery, I finally got a recommendation from another doxie owner to take my dog to Coral Way Animal Clinic with Dr.Oscar. And she was right, Coral Way Animal Clinic was the only place our of many we visited that provides an IVVD surgery for an affordable and realistic cost. I went there, and they went above and beyond to help me. Dr. Oscar and his staff are truly angels on earth, they are a small clinic, but they all are HUGE at heart. Today my dog is on his way to walk back again, and all thanks to Dr. Oscar and his staff. If you want to feel at home, and get call by your name, and get greeted by all staff who know your dog name every time you visit, please visit Coral Way Animal Clinic. They saved us!!!! beyond grateful! GRACIAS!!!! Filomeno (My dog) had the following services: - IVDD Surgery - Cold Laser Therapy - Chinesse Electro Acupuncture AND ALL OF THE LOVE IN THE WORLD!
First of all, no one speaks English. Second, I ask for medical records for my dogs and they say they can’t find them… and I gave them my invoice number they sent me. HOW EASY IS IT, I do your job for you?! Third, the doctor is extremely rude saying that he can’t do that right now because he has an “emergency.” I asked the receptionist to send me the medical records on FRIDAY. It is Monday today and why have I not gotten it? Also, the receptionist sent me an invoice instead of records. I stayed with her for 30 minutes explaining to her I need MEDICAL RECORDS. Lastly, the tools they use are medieval. My dogs hate coming here because they still use the medical devices to CLAMP on their armpits for their heartbeat. I’m sorry but we aren’t in the 1950s. No wonder my dog wants to bite the doctor. No bedside manner whatsoever. When I actually had an emergency I took my dog to VEG in Aventura cause I know that this vet will kill my dog cause they don’t know what they’re doing with their old equipment and no technology advancements.
I must say the staff and Vet Doctor at Coral Way Animal Clinic are just AMAZING!!!!!! I brought my cat in cause she had sliced her paw up some how, still don't know how, and when I got to the office the staff was so friendly, helpful and just made the situation so much better. The vet goes over everything in detail so that you understand what needs to be done. I will say I didn't expect to spend the amount of money I have (which compared to other people I know with animals I spent soooo little, my friend once spent 15k on her dog) but then again money doesn't matter when you have a loved animal that is in pain or worse could die of an infection.. However, the staff is like family and they treat every person that comes into the office as if they were family also... IF YOU HAVE AN ANIMAL ISSUE AND DO NOT TAKE THEM TO CORAL WAY ANIMAL CLINIC YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON WONDERFUL, PROFESSIONAL AND RESPECTFUL PEOPLE WHO WILL TREAT YOUR ANIMAL AS THEY WERE ONE OF THIER OWN!!!!! I LOVE CORAL WAY ANIMAL CLINIC..........
Iv'e been taking my dogs and cats to Dr. Paez for over 20yrs now, wayyy back when he was over at the other location before moving to this office, I remember I took my Jack Russell Milo back in 2013 in which he found out what he had when nobody knew, after I took my pincher Taz a couple years after with a liver problem in which he also saved his life and today I took my girlfriend's chihuahua and they immediately did all the tests, IV's and explained to us each procedure he needed and that he was going to stay overnight to monitor his progress. Price was reasonable (very grateful for that) not to mention that your mascot is in one or if not the best hands in all south florida, I'm telling you guys this vet knows his stuff and that's what you want in a time of emergency and desperation when your'e seeing your puppy sick every minute counts, I had that feeling earlier rushing over there crying all the way to the clinic, but I'm home now calmed knowing that our Peewee is well taken care off
Worst experience I have ever had at a vet. My dog went in just for skin allergies and i wanted to see if it looked like hot spots and how to treat this. First and foremost they had 3 doctors come in one in a sweater and crocs trying to hold my dog down to shove a thermometer in his butt to check for vitals. Dr Oscar castro nor any other doctors tried to greet or make my dog feel safe during this proces so hes not having it. He looks at the spots not communicating with me because he is spanish speaker and im not. I asked my friend to translate and ask what he thinks it looks like he says "im writing an estimate" the estimate was skin scraping for tests, blood test, and sedation because my dog is afraid of these strangers. I felt like a horrible dog mom and cut the apt short after having 1/2 shots done. i had a horrible gut paid for the time spent there and left. Do not recommend at all
Since I moved to Coral Gables I was on the search for the most humane, friendly and kickass veterinarians. Once I found the Coral Way Animal Clinic I feel that I have been blessed. I have two dogs, Spike (Boston Terrier) and Max (Min Pin). My dogs have had seizures, cancer biopsies, broken legs, and with the attention and care of Oscar and his team they have always come on top! These team know what they are doing, and they always have the dog’s best interest in mind. Spike and Max are part of their family as much as they are part of ours. José and I cannot be happier about who takes cares of our babies. Also, what vet secretary ends her voicemails with “kisses Ana”. Thanks Marta. I will not go anywhere else. They are up to day with the latest technology and new treatments. They truly care for your pets!!! Give your pets a gift and take them see Oscar and his team!!!!
TW - GRAPHIC PICTURES ATTACHED: I found Coral Way Animal Clinic on November 12, 2020. I remember this date exactly because it was the day that my 20 lb. terrier mix Lucas was horribly attacked by another dog. I used to take my dog to Banfield but they do not handle emergencies and now I will only take him to Coral Way Animal Clinic. The staff treated Lucas, me, and my family just like a family. They knew how to keep us calm and were open and honest with us from the beginning. They had to remove a small bone that the dog broke in his collar bone, due to the bite being so bad and infectious, he had to be restitched again - all, in all, Lucas had to stay with them for almost a month and they did everything they could & did save him. Oscar, Leo, Elisa, and Victor were exactly what my family and Lucas needed. I recommend them 10/10.
I have been going to Oscar at Coral Way Animal Clinic for 13 years. He has taken care of my three dogs since day 1 and I trust him with my eyes closed. Oscar and his team are hands-down the most professional, caring and knowledgeable in the business. He has saved my animals on many occasions from illness, accidents or disease. He is a fantastic surgeon and and expert diagnostician. In the last few months he was instrumental in diagnosing my dog’s cancer, skillfully removing the tumors, and getting treatment through cancer vaccine that’s now available. Paws crossed… we are on our way to recovery since it’s been 4 months with no remission. In addition, I’ve always been able to teach them in emergency cases, and even counted on middle-of-the-night help. Coral Way is like family to us for treating us with such amazing care!
Oscar and his team are nothing short of the sweetest and most caring vets and tech’s I’ve brought my dog to! Our Wolfie was diagnosed with some mammary gland tumors that needed to be removed. He did the surgery super quickly and was amazing during her recovery time. Answered all of my questions, explained every part of the procedure and made us feel at ease - which is hard to do when dealing with cancer. We were able to bring her into the office to get her stitches/incision checked whenever we got worried and he was always there to help assure us everything was looking good and normal. Our girl is fully recovered now and back to her normal happy self and we truly have the staff at Coral Way Animal Clinic to thank for it!! Gracias por todo, no hay palabras para explicar lo mucho que los agradezco!
The staff is just amazing. I called Dr. Oscar on Saturday at 9pm because my mini poodle Marley suffered a back injury. He didn’t hesitate in telling me to come straight to the office to evaluate his injuries. After looking him over he advised he would need surgery and around the clock watch so he wouldn’t get any worse. They provided me with all the information needed to best treat him and made him feel safe while under their care. I have been to other vets office and after this experience I will not go anywhere else. They even sent me pictures and videos of Marley so my wife and I can rest assure he is in good hands. Thank you again Dr. Oscar and the whole Coral Way Animal Clinic staff for your professionalism and patience. Highly recommended!!
I am just BLOWN AWAY with how well Dr. Castro’s team took care of my baby when she was incredibly sick. Wow. They went above and beyond to care for her, going way out of their way to make her extensive treatments incredibly affordable to me. They added in so many things free of charge and showed her so much love. I’ve been going to this vet for 3 years now, and my experience this past week has underscored for me how skilled and caring they are. When I had to leave her overnight to be hospitalized, they spent so much time holding her and petting her and playing with her as well as treating her condition—Rafael made her feel so loved. They even washed and groomed her for me! Dr. Castro, Rafael, and Dr. Paez, I cannot thank you enough!!!!!!!! Wow!
After my Yorkie was attacked by a Pitbull I was extremely concerned and wanted to find immediate help. When I walked into the Clinic, Rafael was the first person to greet me and he understood right away how shocked I was and was very fast with assistance. The Doctor examined my dog very well and answered all of my questions. Both Rafael and the doctor were extremely patient with my questions and gave the best help which put me immediately at ease. Not only did we have amazing service but the staff is extremely kind. Rafael is the best! He is extremely professional and funny at the same time which made me very comfortable and at ease with the situation that I was in. Thank you so much for your help!
What a great place ❤ I have had pets all my life and never lucked out this much with a veternarian, honestly, and it was my first pick in Miami so that was truelly good luck. I adopted a kitty and this was my first experience with worms This place really made it a smooth process and got everything I needed quickly and for a good price. You can tell the staff and doctor really love what they do and actually like to answer your questions so that you can be informed rather than just the "in and out, Google it" type of service I have received so many times before. Also props to the staff for being able to handle this cat cause she got pretty feisty there for a second
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! My Dog had a gastritis attack (1st time that happened) He threw up and started crying in pain like never! - Called Coral Way Animal Clinic at 8:40 PM. The heard my frustration and calmly told me to go. 1. Service was amazing and step by step explained everything. 2. Did all the tests and results came back within 15 min. 3. Gave him the medicine and improved in an instant. 4. Prices were reasonable. Doctor Perez and the assistant did an AMAZING job by peacefully and professionally taking me thru all the steps of discovering what was going on! THANK YOU FOR EXISTING THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Very grateful to Dr. and his team. They operated on my dog in emergency, for a pyometra (infection in the uterus). Since we arrived at the clinic they treated us with great kindness and patience, they show a lot of love and dedication for the animals, they even managed to calm my nerves. The whole process of the operation and the post-operative was excellent. The Dr. has a lot of professional ethics and knowledge to spare in the matter. I even loved that he had no problem caring for such a large dog (Pitbull 110 lbs). We are happy to find the perfect place for our 4-legged daughter. Eternally grateful.
The office Coral Way Animal Clinic of Dr Oscar Vetenarian is the best I travel all the way to Miami from Palm Beach, this Dr and office staff very professional, friendly and make you feel like your family. This Dr saved my dogs paw when in Palm Beach they were looking to amputate the paw off without a full diagnosis. Thank God I was recommended to this Doctor worth traveling to Coral Gables. I know when I bring my animals they are in the best care ever. Thank you Dr Oscar I can’t express enough the appreciation I feel towards you and your staff. Thank you Doctor Oscar ,Camilo Remberto and Annia Denise
If I could give 10 stars to Coral Way Animal Clinic I would! I went in thinking that my baby girl Mia had a simple stomach virus but after blood work was done, it showed that her kidneys were not doing good at all. We never lost hope and left her in the vets hands for a few days knowing that anything could of happened. With everyone’s dedication Mia was doing so much better in just a few days. Every single person that works in this location on 27th is AMAZING. We still continue with her recommended treatments and she is a Completely new dog. Thank you so much for what you all have done!!
I want to share my experience at the veterinary clinic that I visited recently. The name of the clinic is Coral Way Animal Clinic and I had an excellent experience for my first two visits. My dog was sick and needed some tests and medication. The staff at the clinic were very friendly, professional and caring. They explained everything to me clearly and answered all my questions. They also gave me some tips on how to take care of my dog at home. My dog recovered quickly and is now happy and healthy. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a good veterinary service.
I'm going to start by saying there's not enough room in this review for me to express my gratitude towards Dr. Paez, he and his team did the imposible taking care of my michu, he came in with a really bad bacterial infection and fully dehydrated right away they started working on him, a team of like 5 experienced vets were working on him, that to me is super super important, I consider my pet as a family member also, knowing he's well taken care of and in the best hands he could be makes ALL the difference in the world on how you come out of there living your pet behind
This is a very well equipped veterinary clinic, with a very knowledgeable and skilled staff. Please make sure you ask questions and if you want to avoid high bills apply for a pet insurance. They take care credit and prepare estimates before any procedure. Boarding, surgeries, acupuncture, pharmacy and radiology are some of the perks they offer. I took my lovely Lucy for an export health certificate and they also did vaccines and cover internal and external parasite treatment. Excellent experience and I do love the way they treat pets.
They work with your budget if it’s an emergency Something that’s really appreciated But don’t expect the vet to be courteous He’s very direct and blunt so if you’re sensitive, keep the talk minimal He’s very desensitized to people’s tears and worries so it doesn’t exactly make you feel confident about going there for your pet But his work is good and he will not lie to you about what your pup needs His work is 5 stars His customer service unfortunately is very low but then again It’s about the health of your pet more than your feelings
Wrong procedure, unpolite atendant, expensive! Take care when you go there, they will charge everything they can and what they can't too! They put a catheter in my puppy, I returned to remove it and they didn't find and they charged me to check that! 3 weeks later I saw it inside my dog, I went there and request to remove and they charge me again saying the dog eat the stitches because of this the catheter enter so deep and they couldn't find it. to remove the dog needed anesthesy and was soffering a lot! This vet should be arrested!
Best vet in town! After years of trying to find a good vet I finally found Dr. Oscar Castro who explained my dog’s diagnosis clearly. Exams and tests results shown to me as he explained the findings and the longterm plan. Previous vets in Miami were not as crystal clear and thorough on exams and findings. I definitely appreciate his professional attention. His staff is thoroughly professional and welcoming as well. I will continue to seek Dr Castro’s advice on all of my 5 animals as I find he is very knowledgeable and experienced.
Dr. Paez and his team literally saved my little Yorkie´s life more than once.. She has a rare type of Diabetes that no other Dr could properly treat before. Dr. Paez took all the time in the World to understand my pet and her affliction to successfully treat her, and continues to do so till this day! Everyone at the Clinic is amazingly kind and perfectly skilled in their duties, not to mention the great advantage that everyone speaks both English AND Spanish, which was a huge help to me since I´m from Argentina. Thank you all!!
Dr. Paez and his team are a blessing for the Shanondah neighborhood. Soon after adopting Kango, Dr. Paez became our trusted vet. He is sincere and portraits a genuine interest in the welfare and health of our dog, without the overly done vet clinic dramatics. Though we have not needed it, I am happy to know that Dr. Paez has a balance of practicing western and eastern medicine when dealing with his patients. He was recommend to me by a neighbor and I recommend him to other pet owners. Thank you, Kiki, Balazs and Kango
I was petrified when I saw my furry baby, Mikey, not doing well. I have never seen Mikey so ill, so my husband and I rushed him to Coral Way Animal Clinic and the service has been exceptional. Mikey was well taken care of with lots of compassion and patience. I am not very trusting with anyone to leave my furry baby with, but Doctor Páez and his staff have earned my trust to take care of my furry baby. I will definitely come back here for all future services. I am a forever client. ❤️
I beg you to never take your pet here. I noticed my cat wasn’t well so I brought her here. They told me she had flea dermatitis and gave her 3 shots for that. The next day she starts sneezing and by the end of the week she passed due to respiratory issues. Maybe there was no correlation between the shots and her passing. But checking her lungs thoroughly could’ve granted me more time with my baby. Edit: this all happened 4 months ago since they want to try to discredit my review.
I have had 5 dogs in 18 years, 4 yorkies and 1 Maltese, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else but Dr. Oscar at Coral Way Animal Clinic to treat them. His years of experience and expertise are priceless when it comes to treating our precious animals. I highly recommend him and his dedicated staff to make sure my pets get the treatment and attention they deserve, especially during emergency situations, and you should too. If you’re looking for the BEST Vet in Miami look no further!
We have trusted Dr Oscar with our pets for over 15 years and drive a long way from Palmetto Bay despite having several vets closer. He has given us expert advice and emotional support through some tough decisions including euthanasia. He has also helped us heal our rescues of heartworm, tumors, and other illnesses. We trust him implicitly with all of our dogs' needs. And he's a pretty entertaining story-teller He and his staff genuinely care about animals.
Very scared dog(kobe - 1yr) handled everything fine thanks to the professional care of the clinical staff. Make sure to tell them everything and throw questions, they'll be sure to reply with a full answer. When you get home do some research to avoid mishandling medication. I got kaopectate, a subsalicylate that can worsen bleeden in ulcers if taken alone. They are very communicative, which can lead to going off topic and forgetting important information.
Bad service, the staff is not good training and talking all the time ,my cat was in pain and crying, he was hospitalized with wrong diagnosis and he died at nigth. They used expired medicine. In past years, i have another cat the dr put sedation in the cat died instantly. Other day give to other cat medication oral with syringe after surgery and the cat have blood in his mouth . Please if your love your pet don't go this animal clinic.
Diamond came into my life when she was only 2 months old and now after 13 years she is showing signs of illness. My heart was broken that my companion for 13 years was ill but Dr. Oscar and his amazing team did everything right there and gave me a peace of mind that my Diamond was in great hands and they would take the best care of her. Thank you to Dr. Oscar for your compassion and outstanding care for Diamond.
We found Coral Way Animal clinic after searching google for a vet with good reviews in the area. We couldn’t have had a better experience. Dr. Paez-Castro and his staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They made us and our 1 year old baby feel comfortable. Scheduling was easy and upon arrival, there was no lengthy wait time to be seen. Dusty will be sticking with his new friends at Coral Way Animal Clinic.
We've been taking our dog here since she was a puppy. Eight years later and there is still nobody we'd trust more than Oscar and Camilo to take care of our little schnauzer. From a life-saving blood transfusion to kidney stones to chronic pancreatitis, Coral Way Animal Clinic has handled it all. Our pup hasn't been the easiest when it comes to her health, but I'm glad we have Oscar and Camilo around to help.
Words can’t describe how thankful I’m for all that Dr Carlos Páez and Dr Camilo have done with Rocky for the pass two years. Their staff from Front Desk Leo, Martha to the assistances Victor and Alberto Rocky’s favorite. Rocky would not be alive today if it wasn’t for them. My family thank you from the bottom of our heart ❤️ This is home for Rocky so 5 starts In my book is still short.
Thank you Dr Paez and Raphael for taking care of Coco with so much love and care. They love animals and you can tell in the way they treat them. All the clinics I used to visit before were only doing business and trying to take more money from me in unnecessary things… So happy that I arrived to this clinic. With the treatments we are avoiding Coco to get a surgery. Thank you to all the team!
Stay away from Dr. Baez with a 10 foot pole. This vet has no compassion for the animals and owners. Absolutely heartless and simply looks to work up medical bills without informing client of best course of action. The most unethical vet I have ever encountered and the reasons why are too many to list here. Be aware and stay far away from Dr. Baez if you care about your pet and yourself.
It took me a long time to find a good vet in this area because all the reviews on Yelp are crap. The most important thing for me for a good Veterinarian is they are patient and kind with my animal, they don't rush me and answer all my questions, and I don't wait forever. Cost and being able to speak English is important too!!! This place has all of that and this is why I give them a 10!
The team at Coral Way Animal Clinic have been nothing short of spectacular with our little Olivia. We've had the pleasure of them taking care of her since she was a pup. The Coral Way family knows our whole family and greets us warmly when we come to visit. Every member of their staff is knowledgeable, professional and passionate about what they do- they are without a doubt the best!
Coral Way Animal Clinic saved my baby. I was desperate since any other place took walk ins, but once I got there, they acted fast. My senior dog needed an emergency surgery and the acted as if Mia were theirs. Everyone was so nice and respectful, they made me feel like family :). Thank you so much for everything! I recommend this place a 100%, Dr. Paez and everyone in the office.
I took my little one to the clinic on Thursday because in banfield clinic was giving a wrong diagnostic on my dog and she wasn’t getting better at all..As soon I go there the front desk was very friendly and helpful.. and the doctors found the problem right away and gave her the right treatment.. it was a bless find a clinic that care for the healthy of my little one.. thank you
The staff here is amazing, they treated my dog as if it was their own. My dog needed surgery and had to stay two nights at the clinic. I was given multiple calls to let me know how he was doing. I was very grateful for this. They are very good at answering any questions or concerns you may have. Great clinic with affordable prices. I will definitely keeping coming back!
By far the best experience I’ve had with a clinic for my pet and specially with Dr. Paez he was fantastic and very caring which you don’t see often. I am so grateful I took my puppy here. Dr. Paez took the time to listen and treat my little one and I couldn’t be more happier. I recommend him, his experience and patience are a plus. Thank you.
Sadly, this clinic has Doctors that only see $$ signs. They do not genuinely care about your pets . My heart is heavy I took my dog there to be treated & they gave them an excessive amount of medications and did not run the proper Tests . The money I spent is irrelevant I would’ve spent anything if they would’ve helped my dog properly .
Really love this clinic. They treat you like family. Dr. Paez and the staff are super nice and really care for the patients. The prices are reasonable they even explained to us about the differences between insurance companies. We came here for an emergency and now they are our regular vet clinic. In my opinion still the best in Miami.
They're fabulous . The gave Monty the help he needed. Saturday was a decision day and the Vet work with us and gave us the hope we needed. Monty is now home walking, driving and eating. He's much better. I recommend this animal clinic with all my heart. They are amazing and incredibly professional and helpful. Love you guys.
The worst service ever .the people kept leaving the room very careless for ones pets . they made it seem all about the money .the pale lady with short hair made faces as if she was aggravated n annoyed .they were laughing while people were there hurting for their pets .I promise you this business ain't worth ur hard earned money
They did great treated us super nice and kind. they were very welcoming payment was no issue. super accommodating. i would recommend. there’s little to no waiting time and they get to work on your pet as quick as possible. i thought i would have to pick up my cat a couple of days later and i got him back the same day.
Thanks to Coral Way Animal Clinic my lovely pets are healthy. Both of my dogs had pancreatitis and no other place could diagnosed it or explain treatment. My senior cat Bella Mia has had quality of life at 15 years of age thanks to the dedicated attention from the doctors and he staff of this vet practice.
Excellent clinic, I couldn’t be more happier with the service. My puppy was seeing by Dr Paez and he did a great job. He was very profesional and knew exactly what to do. I wouldn’t trust my pet with any other doctor. I recommend him . Great vet, very sensible and caring doctor. …
They have been taking care of my dogs for over 10 years and they have always maintained them in excellent health. Both Dr. Paez and Camillo have always been very professional with us and shown loving care to my two dogs. I have no reservations in recommending them to pet owners.
Very professional care of pets. Gentle treat to the owners. They explain and educate pet owners to help prevent diseases. Excellent clinical diagnosis. The doctor has a vast experience and give owners all the available options to chose the best for their pets. Highly recommend.
I took my dog to this vet and I cannot understand why some people dislike this place. Great service, wonderful customer service, both me and my dog are very happy with the procedures and the results. Great atmosphere and great care-takers. 10/10 would recommend.
the best service and care for our little ones , Dr. Oscar, Dr Camilo, Leo, Victor and the whole work team give the best of them so that our pets are well , the staff is amazing,,,, 100 % recommended the best animal clinic in Miami !!!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!!!!!!!
Best veterinarian I've ever seen. So nice and thorough. He explained everything step by step with my cat's exam. Also, he has a great touch with the animals. It's hard to find good customer service in Miami, so you would be lucky to have him as your vet!
I do not recommend this place. (For transparency Per owners comment. Mask was put on per the facility request but continued to ask me personal questions instead of asking about the dog’s well being. Service wasn’t refused, I simply walked out.)
Quoting 600 to 800 to have a cat neutered is nothing short of a JOKE specifically when the competition provide a quote of 260 dollars. Also why asking to bring the cat when all I asked was a price and the kitty is in perfect health.
Dr Paez and his crew saved my pets and nurtured them back to recovery, not only with procedures and medications but with love and care. I’m for ever grateful and loyal to them. Highly reccommend this clinical for your beloved pets.
Excellent care has been provided to our cat Zorro who was injured and had an infected wound. They welcomed us as a walk-in and provided needed care including surgery. He is in recovery and we trust that he is in good hands.
The team at Coral Way Animal Clinic is the best in Miami! Very friendly/attentative and knowledgeable. Brought my cute furball bunny in because of walking dandruff after being misdiagnosed by other vets. Highly recommend !
Glad I found this clinic. The care they have given my dog is exceptional! The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. Really love this clinic and would recommend them to anyone in the area who needs a vet.
Preformed unnecessary procedured to overcharged by at least $150. He also is at animal house animal clinic on 68th and Collins. A friend who went to that location had an even worse experience there.
Excelent service, very professional doctor and staff and care about the loved one. I was impressed about the treatment for my cat Vera and to me. Thanks to everyone in the Coral Way Animal Clinic.
Dr. Paez has givin our beloved Bingo the best care we could ask for. Staff is very polite, detailed, they provide follow up and they are a pleasure to work with. A+ service. Thank you Dr. Paez!
This clinic has been so incredible, words cannot express my gratitude specially for Dr. Paez. My sincere recommendations for him, very profesional and knowledgeable. He is the best one.
Rafael and the Doctor were both extremely kind and patient with us and our dog. They even stayed an hour past closing to ensure we got the absolute best care. Highly highly recommend!
Great staff and service! I went 30 minutes before closing and my puppy had a loose fang. They gladly took it out no charge and advised me better tooth care for my dog. Thank you guys
This is our go-to doctor for our fur baby. They genuinely care here. After having many worrisome experiences with human doctors, I am so glad i found a place i can trust for my cat.
I’ve never seen a vet that cares just about our dog, Dusty, as they do at Coral Way Animal Clinic. We are very happy we found someone we trust to make sure he’s healthy and happy
It is a small clinic and parking is very limited. But the Doctor is very knowledgeable and very helpful. They also have very helpful friendly and accommodating staff.
This dr is super unprofessional. SUPER RUDE AND MEAN. You can tell he hates his job. Please save yourself money and if you love your pet take them somewhere else!
Amazing Vet and Staff! They helped me through my senior doberman with her Renal failure until the very last moment! Thank you for your dedication and knowledge!
Great people. they treat your pet like you do.Helped out a lot in taking care of my very sick terrier poodle mix. shots for my Hershey painless for both of us!
Very knowledgeable veterinarian and gentle and professional staff. I would definintely recomend it to everyone because diagnosis and treatment is their forte.

Great Veterinarian! The service was great, everyone there was super nice and the veterinarian knows what he is talking about. Recommend it for others
Super clean nice and professional place. Very honest specialists, they put truth over money, other places insisted in operating on our helpless boy.
I love the clinic, because the people who are working here are really kind and nice. The clinic is really clean and safe for animals. <3
This is an excellent place to take your pet. they are friendly and very helpful. without doubt, its my go-to spot for my dog check ups

I highly recommended! They really care and love the animals ! If you want the best for your pet . This is the right place! ❤️
Dr. Paez is a great doctor! he has many tools available to help our pets. His experience is broad and his team is wonderful!
I brought my kitten here and they were able to meet all her needs, I am super happy with the service, very professional.
Best vet and staff in Miami! Making sure Coco is healthy and happy :) Thank you for always taking care of my dogs!!
This veterinarian after your first visit will try to get as much money from you as possible and this is my opinion.
The worst receptionist you can have I'll never return, despite attention and interference from the Veterinarian
