Happened to be in Toowong today and thought we would give Corner Store a go. We were greeted by a couple of staff on arrival and were advised to either go around the side or straight through to get to their seating area. The place was already half full when we got there and it wasn’t before long that it was fully packed with people (we could only imagine how busy it would be during the weekend). Once we were seated, a friendly staff member approached us with a jug of water and took our orders for coffees. I grabbed a skinny cap, which was quite delicious and tasty. My partner ordered a filtered iced long black, which he quite dug and I thought was just as nice. Food wise, it took me a really long time to decide what I wanted. As there were quite a few items I was interested in. I finally made my mind and ordered their Potato and Corn Hash, as shown in the pic below. For starters, I thought the whole thing looked very appetizing. I loved the way it was presented. The potato was cooked to the right point where it was soft but not mushy and you could actually get a tiny bit of resistance when you bite down on it. The chorizo was seasoned well and went well with the potato. The corn at the bottom threw in a hint of sweetness to the dish and fit in with the rest of the ingredients. The cheese on top was one of the highlights for me as it really elevated the whole dish in multiple dimensions. Another thing I really enjoyed was the satayed kale, a very nice addition and it really spiced up the dish. We also thought the pickled chilies were a really nice touch, which we assumed would be really spicy but were actually nice. Now let’s talk about the few things I wasn’t impressed with. Firstly, the poached eggs were overdone and didn’t really go with the rest of the ingredients. Apart from the eggs, we both thought the tomato based dressing was nice but a bit too sour for my likings. It was so intense that I could barely taste anything else after having it. I thought the dish would have been much better if the dressing was not overpowering. One last thing was that the dish was a bit greasy for me. Overall, it was a good meal. Service wise, we thought it was absolutely brilliant and everyone who served us was attentive, nice and friendly. All drinks and foods came in a timely fashion despite how busy they were, which we appreciated. Will come back some other time. Their Brisket Toastie and Cheeseburger also looked really nice.
It’s not often I get flavour coming through from the bread in large cafe meals. But… the flavour in this huge singular slice was certainly appreciable. If you have a big enough plate I reckon one solid slice works really well for a knife and fork breakfast. The remarkable flavour on the first bite of this meal also extended fresh saucy herbs and the eggs. They were cheesy, but not to the point where they felt heavy. The coffee - on this occasion iced - was also very good. On the pricer end for the food, but it can also be justified by the wonderful space. Huge variety, I’d say even with the seasons, personality, plenty of natural light and good airflow. Perhaps not super cosy but there is a luscious green outlook over a huge veggie garden. Service was quick and accommodating. Would return.

My late mother loved a hamburger and milkshake. These are not difficult to find menu items and we could have gone to a great many places, but I took her to Corner Store Cafe for the last meal she would have in Brisbane because the burger is excellent, as in last meal excellent, and the milkshake sweet and robust. The remainder of the menu is delicious and - importantly - the long black coffee is hot, crema heavy and rewarding.

we witnessed a below-average cappuccino and a stinky smell at this place! from the outside the place seems welcoming and clean. they advertised their 10$ lunch of sandwich and coffee. so that was the obvious order placed, since many visitors too might have placed the same. there was a subtle odd smell throughout this place and only in the cafe but not outside. this was in contrast to the seemingly neat layout. anyhow, the odd odour can be a one time thing, so it was initially ignored. but then the subsequent coffee was no good in taste - coffee beans seemingly of low quality and the overall preparation a blant low. veggie sandwich was good with nicely toasted bread and filling of avocado, red capsicum & onions. but not enough to elevate the mood. overall duration of our stay at this place was less than 10 minutes.
Love the railway sleepers in the garden and the citrus trees. Turmeric latte is always delicious and every item on the menu is attractive to my palate. I love the chorizo corn hash and friends have loved the brioche burger. Lovely place to spot dogs, too. Fantastic location at the western edge of Toowong. Parking not difficult and always fun to people watch especially if you're into tennis, as there are grass courts next door with veteran players coming in for coffee. Lovely mix of young and old patrons, feels like a community spot. They're often busy, and the layout is split level so service can be a little slower, but it suits the neighbourhood pace of the place, if I'm being candid.

All dishes looked good on the menu. We tried the curry and minced beef. The beef was great, would recommend it. The curry was good. The place had a busy atmosphere.

My daughter took us there for breakfast this morning and was truly disappointed with our food after reading good reviews. I had a bacon, egg and mushroom roll, that was stodgy at the bottom, bacon wasn’t good and the egg was well done, also had a hot chocolate that was flavourless. Daughter had the bacon and egg, everything ok apart from the bacon. Wife had smashed avo on toast which had way too many nuts, but the rest was ok. Maybe the locals don’t have many places they can go. But it was busy as hell so they must be doing something right. Make sure you wrap up warm as it was freezing and they never had any heat lamps etc.

Totally disappointed with the food and service. I have made the booking over the phone 2 days before but the staff missed my booking. We are a group of 6 adults and 3 babies. The staff were not able to assist with the high chairs at all. The music was too loud. The food quality is average. They messed up my order with bacon instead of Chorizo. They removed the bacon but the bread became oily and hard. The staff was waiting at our table to clean our plate impatiently while we were still chatting at the table. I haven’t even finished my coffee! I won’t recommend having lunch at this restaurant.

Went with my dad and my assistance dog to have a late breakfast! The milkshake was amazing! One thing I wanted to mention is that on the “dog rules” sign out the front of the store it says service dog instead of assistance dog. Service dog is the American term for an assistance animal. Assistance dog is the legal term in Australia. I don’t mean to sound condescending but would it be possible if you guys could change that? It just helps myself and other assistance dog handlers correctly educate and advocate for ourselves! :)

Beautiful cafe in Toowong. Was a great menu with plenty of range and covered all the bases you'd like to see. Chose the soup of the day, being a French onion w chive soup with a cheese toastie. The soup was sublime so it was a great choice and the cheese toastie really worked a treat on a cooler morning. Service was friendly and despite being busy, the food and coffee came out quickly. Can see why it's such a prevalent and successful cafe.

Great coffee and delicious brunch in a bright, airy, relaxed vibe. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Walked in on a busy Sunday brunch and didn't have to wait long for a table for 2, but would recommend booking for larger tables as this place is popular!

Kid and pet friendly. Lots of cute doggos to make friends with.
While driving around Brisbane to watch the kids play sport it’s fun to look up and discover cafe’s, it’s risky and often disappointing but it was not here, this cafe is filled with happy staff always a good sign in the end their happiness is what we are served , the right tension between funky and simple , good pure crusty breads and produce , coffee that slides down the mug leaving its quality patterning the sides , in a work where Uber has destroyed the meaning of a 5 star rating this cafe deserves 6 stars
Visited Corner Store twice in the past week for coffee. Despite the cafe's pleasant atmosphere, I was disappointed by the complete lack of greeting from the staff on both occasions. No smiles or welcoming gestures. I value businesses that appreciate their customers, and this experience fell short. Regrettably, I'll be supporting establishments that make me feel more welcome.

Wouldn’t go back just for the service alone. What happened to greeting customers? Had to wait for them to stop talking among themselves about their personal life. My friend went in and ordered first, then myself we both experience the same ‘customer service’. My juice has chunck a of pith in it too, wasn’t pleasant for a $10 drink. Overpriced food, no customer service. Don’t recommend.

Stopped for lunch with the partner and 3 kids, 10, 8, 6. Seated in the outdoor area. Nice atmosphere, not too loud, and was fairly busy, half capacity, maybe. Coffee, table service and food was good. Kids had a quick look in the herb garden out the back while we waited about 10-15 mins for food.

Friendly, polite service from attentive staff. I’ve been here a few times, the food today was ok, and certainly not the best I know it can successfully deliver - everybody is entitled to a down day, especially when you have a history of providing great coffee & food. I love this cafe, it’s a beautiful little heritage building with great atmosphere. It’s also very popular and busy - you might have a bit of difficulty getting seating, which is actually a good sign!
The coffee is now excellent and a treat. The range of food is not amazing but you'll find something that suits you. Nothing leapt out as exciting for my committed meat palate and I was a little disappointed with my selection. The service is friendly and patient. It's pricey for what it is but suits the neighborhood.

Very poor service today . I was beginning to think we were invisible. Had to call the waitress over to place our order and clear the table after waiting more than long enough. She took the plates away but didn’t come back for coffee cups and the second coffee I ordered didn’t arrive. My fafafel salad was tasty.

I got the waffles and a milkshake. While the waffles sounded like a fun and fancy idea, and even looks the part with the fairy floss on top - the flavours all mixed together did not work. Maybe a different flavoured fairy floss- maybe even rethink the whole waffle meal?? The atmosphere outside is really quite lovely and can recommend as a great place if you want to just catch up for a coffee.
I’m giving a legit five stars to Corner Store Cafe. Really great service, amazing food in a great setting. My long black was pretty much perfect. Nice flavour, properly made. I had the smashed avo two ways. A different and delicious take on the millennial’s cafe favourite. Jokes aside, it’s delicious—make sure you have it both ways. Definitely returning and you should give it a go.
Great venue, simple yet thoughtful menu, friendly and fast services. Had a simple scramble eggs with sautéed kale. Honest and tasty dish. Also had a turmeric latte and it was heavenly. Definitely the hidden gem in the neighbourhood

I dont like complaining about service, however... Eggs came with bunch of shell pieces, some larger than 1cm, no clue how one misses those. When leaving, I mentioned it, waitress just made a strange expression, said no word and proceeded. Other than that food was ok, though not the best value

Recommended by one of my friend. The food is awesome and unique. We tried the Israelic salad (hope I got the name correct) and the Fish of the day - Baked Salmon. One of my friends also tried the pulled-pork but he felt it is a bit hard to chew. We also tried their smoothies, and ice chocolate is delicious. Definitely will go there again.
Really good food, with a menu that's a bit different. Nice buzz to the place. Quite accommodating, which is impressive given how busy this place can get (wait times and wait lists are common as this place is popular - and for good reason)

This morning I ordered a takeaway milkshake. Very underfilled! This is this picture of it when i got back to my car after pickup. For $7 this makes you feel "ripped off". Lately milkshakes/juices for takeaway orders have been hit and miss with the level of "fullness". For the $ that you pay this service needs to improve.
The cafe has a really nice vibe because the layout is open and spacious. Super friendly and accommodating team. The food was delicious and the coffee so good my boyfriend got a second to takeaway. We went on a Monday morning to expecting it to be quiet and it was relatively busy. Imagine it's quite in demand on weekends.
Corner Store Cafe delivers country style service in the outer cbd region. If dining in, seating is in a sheltered outdoor area that leads to a small vege garden. Good range of dishes, although there are no clear specialities. In the case of my Korma, I was disappointed by the lack of flavour and having it served cold.
So big and open. Awesome garden beds with names of plants on rocks. Didnt see kids the whole time except when they ate their lunch and ran off again. Its like a cafe with a natural playground! Food so healthy and really happy with. Good coffee and delicious cakes in cabinet they heat up for you and added ice cream
Fabulous place. Well presented and delicious meal at a very reasonable price. Very busy but still receiving attentive service. If I was going to find a fault - It was very noisy,

Very busy local café with a large covered outdoor seating area. Fast and friendly staff, wide range of meal and snack options. The coffee is good and the atmosphere buzzing. There is on street parking but this is a busy area so may have to hunt for a spot.
I left here yesterday feeling quite confused when I walked out after paying the bill. I paid $9.50 for my 3 year old sons vanilla milkshake? Unheard of. I then got charged $6.50 for one piece of toast with vegemite.. a total bill of $53 for
Updated review, had the waffles and are amazing, highly recommend, service fantastic Very nice atmosphere, the service was friendly and welcoming, very beautiful garden and the food delicious, I had the Spanish chorizo with prawns very yummy
Food and coffee was great. However, the service was much to be desired. Coffees took about 20-30 minutes to come out.... Staff said "we are being slammed" but we could see others who arrived and ordered after us getting their drinks/coffee.
My customer service experience here was great. Staff was friendly and the service was quick. However, was let down with the quality of my food. The avocado tasted bland, kind of like the stuff you get from Woolworths that come pre-packed
Saw a lovely pair of girls with the most adorable dog! He was so sweet and really made my day much better just by seeing how great they take care of their dog and absolutely loved seeing how inclusive the staff were and how happy it made
Been there a few times, have tried Pitaya Bowl, Mushroom spaghetti, Lamb Kofta, Chorizo chilli scramble taco, green curry on poached egg, Chai Latte, and hot filtered cafe. They were all amazing. Seriously it is hard to find a cafe with
Amazing brunch in Brisbane. I have tried a lot of brunch and honestly this is one of the best. The waffle is amazing. Their berries were very fresh and marinated in jam before served!! Lovely ideas . The rolls are not so good tho.
Service is friendly and polite. Coffee, outstanding. Meals, amazingly well prepared, served in good time, and importantly, delicious. Parking usually good, price is reasonable, table settings well spaced and comfortable.

Great atmosphere. Mainly outdoor seating but there are fans and water misters. Cute little veggie garden in the back. Good service. Menu changes, but there's always something tasty to try.
Food and vibe are really lovely, especially the vibe. Food are quite different from the normal brunch places, however, the service was not that satisfying, not feeling very welcomed.
Had an enjoyable brunch here, it's got a good buzz and tasty food! Would come again. Ordered a sweet and savory dish to share between three people. It was enough with coffees around
