Ridiculous slow on FULL death certificate and also Grant of probate takes months to get ! Come on, SA government, my family and I just want to move on but this Extremely slow process are keep pushing us away! Police department keeps holding belonging of my brother and sister in law such as phones, diary etc... for how long? No answers of course! It s been 2 years, the dairy still not able to be released ! My brother been kept asking about it before he passed away, what he got was nothing, the dairy was his mental support because that's belonged to his wife and him. He felt so hopeless and ended up hanged himself in the house. I am not making this up, I opened his email after he passed away and found those conservation between the police officer and him
It's sad how the reception staff have been more helpful than the social worker I dealt with. These guys really need to step up their game. For someone who has never dealt with a death, I would have appreciated to be informed with how quickly a deceased body can decompose. I didn't get to see my father at his funeral to say final goodbyes because the social worker advised me that they would care for my father. I am disgusted and angry. When I did have a viewing- through a glass window, I had asked for some information about the coroners process on paper, which was not provided. It's been nearly twelve months and still waiting on cause of death. I get that it takes some time but this is ridiculous. Especially when trying to 'move on'.
Honestly, such a rude, incompetent and SLOW government organisation. They talk about SA not having jobs, how about employ MORE individuals so that people aren't waiting on death certificates for loved ones for months and months. How is one supposed to move on, if they have 3 people working *cough 2200 people* at this failure of a place...
I am surprised by the negative reviews here. I have experienced nothing but kindness, compassion & empathy from the staff at the Coroner's office. The process does take a while, but my understanding is that this is as much about police processes as it is about the Coroner's court.
I've been waiting 14 months for my Father's death Certificate, absolutely ridiculous and no help whatsoever from any staff. Would leave zero stars if I could!
