"Very intimate, ornate Catholic church"
I make my way to Corpus Christi once every time I visit London. I need peace, solitude and time to think, to reflect in my all to brief visits to the Capital ... where better than here at Corpus for me on my journey? This House of God never lets me down. The Holy Spirit moves in mysterious ways ... and feeds me and answers me ... truly this venue is Holy ... I feel humbled in this venue which brings me down to my inner values with so much to reflect on and count my blessings ... and for a short period of time I have a warm feeling of goodness ... The Priest when I have met him has always been good listener ... my own church, the C of E regretfully did not feed me spiritually any more alas... It has ran its course ... perhaps I should become a Roman Catholic? I have thought about this for many years ... Nearer and nearer draws the time ...
This is a beautiful little church, almost hidden in plain sight, behind Covent Garden square and nestled in on a street that is filled with restaurants and bars. It has been beautifully renovated and I find it so welcoming here. What most passers-by won't know is that you can enjoy mass in Latin here, although the homily is done in English. Furthermore, this is not just a church, it has also been elevated to a Diocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament by Cardinal Nichols. It is a wonderful place of peace and reflection, right in the heart of London's commercial and theatre district. An oasis of tranquillity.
My wife and I were touring the sights in London and had an early flight Sunday morning, so we were looking for a mass that fit our Saturday schedule. Corpus Christi had a 6pm Saturday mass that we attended. The Church is very quaint and nestled in the heart of a very busy street. The beauty of the church, in particular the altar/sanctuary pulled you in during Mass. The best part was that we didn't put two and two together right away....but the weekend we were there was also the feast of Corpus Christi! What better of a place to be at Mass! Thank you for letting us join you!
My mother and I attended this church on a Saturday afternoon in July, 1990. Both of us were lifelong Catholics (she died in 2003, I am still Catholic), and this church, bar none, was the most inhospitable church either of us had ever attended. The priest was cold as a fish, and the congregation was deeply unwelcoming toward visitors. If you are looking to fulfill an obligation to attend Mass, the place will do, but Westminster Abbey has a very beautiful Evensong service too, and they are lots friendlier, if they are somewhat heretical. :)
Very intimate, ornate Catholic church. Rich in iconography. Features in Graham Greene's novel: "The end of the affair". A remarkable novel about arriving at faith from the inner conflict and guilt of an adulterous affair during the war. A message that revelation can suddenly appear when least expected in the most contradictory circumstances Greene, a Catholic, structured many of his novels around his own fight with his faith, and must have found inspiration from visiting this very church.
The church is like in a middle of high street and busy restaurants and you might miss it as it is like hide g from the crowd. However inside is the opposite it boast richness of colour and beauty not to mention it is not so big like a cathedral or a basilica that you can get lost I side. This church one of the precious church if London which makes this church worth visiting and worth to pay respect.
Wonderful church on the edge of Covent Garden. Such an oasis from the noise and consumerism of what’s is outside the doors. After an extensive refurbishment the church is a most blessed church fitting of holding the blessed Eucharist. Many statues of prominent saints, among them Saint Patrick. Don’t go just as a tourist but as someone open to listening to God in a most holy setting.
This lovely shrine has been beautifully restored and when open is an oasis of peace. Built in 1874 and recently reopened after extensive renovation, this church is easily missed, sited, as it is in a nondescript back street close to Covent Garden. The statue at the entrance gives a clue as to the use of the building. Services are very traditional and mostly in Latin.
So peaceful to pray do meditation and my favourite church In London Latin sung mass Sunday Anyone in London for visiting holiday should go say a prayer relax Good for the spirit and the soul . Thankful to all the parishioners though most thanks to the Priest and alter service for keeping us in touch with Christ his Blessed mother and the Holy Spirit ❤️
It is easy to walk past this church because of its lack of a traditional porch but that would mean missing out on this Covent Garden gem. Corpus Christi church is beautifully ornate and very well kept. It is one of the few places in London where you can attend a Tridentine Mass and the parish priest always includes some latin in his services.
Corpus Christi Church is tucked at a small street filled with many eateries. It’s like a oasis within a bustling neighborhood. It’s such a big contrast to the other establishments within the block. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

A beautiful church in the heart of Covent Garden. The church is the Diocesan Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament and also the church of the catholic actors guild. Visited on a PRIDE day. The still calmness gave a sense of correctness on a bizzare day. The church is definitely worth a visit.
Stunning restoration, making this Church one of the finest in London. The eastward-facing altar has been retained and the awkward forward-facing one removed. The Lady altar and Sacred Heart altar have also been restored. Well worth a visit if you haven't seen it for a while.
This is a beautiful small church in the heart of covent garden. The Actors Church, recently completly renovated, is a surprise on Maiden Lane, and repays a visit with a beautiful, tranquil space in the middle of West End bustle.
Lovely, serene and a beautiful place to worship. I enjoyed the sermon at mass. The 11.30 am Latin mass was absolutely terrific. The songs chanted in Latin, I can't begin to describe it. Felt like the mass shouldn't even end.
A beautiful church, which has recently undergone extensive renovation. Traditional Latin Mass is celebrated on Mondays at 6.30pm. The church has strong connection with the theatre, and is the home of the Catholic Stage Guild

A beautiful Church. It's a haven of peace and contemplation in the midst of the bustling West End. It's entrance is unassuming but once you go down a few steps, it opens up into a glorious space. Well worth a visit.
A lovely church tucked away behind the strand. I attended a socially distanced Christmas mass and will visit again. Very quiet and peaceful. Services are being streamed online if you cannot attend in person.

Beautiful church tucked away behind Covent Garden. It happened to be open when I was dining opposite so I took a look inside. Very calming and architecturally impressive throughout.
Corpus Christi Catholic Church is a hidden gem in Covent Garden. The architecture of the church is spectacular and the atmosphere serene. I will be back and I recommend visiting!
Spectacular, both visually and conceptually. A shrine for adoration and a place of reparation for the many sacrileges committed against the Blessed Sacrament. Well worth a visit
Like a pearl hidden away amongst the busy streets of Covent gardens, the Church fills your heart with a lot of peace, it is quiet and perfect for silent prayers and reflection.
Simply wonderful... stunning little church in Central London... first experience with the traditional Latin Mass here was just out of this world. So amazing …
Located close to the busy Strand and Covent Garden areas is this church, tucked away in a side street. The interior is being renovated, but still functions as normal.
All Saints’ Day with cardinal Robert Sarah. A beautiful church in the heart of London. Incredible priest. A national shrine. The softest pews in the whole of London.
Tucked away in Covent Garden, this little gem of a church is worth a prayerful visit. Printed prayers at the statues make it easier if you're at a loss of words.
Beautiful chapel hidden in a side street. A little oasis in the city.

Visited in the afternoon on a recent trip to London. A true hidden gem away from the busy streets. Peaceful. The east facing high altar is incredible
Beautiful gem of a church. A shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in the heart of London. There is EF Mass here at 6.30pm on Mondays and bank holidays.
It offers a special programme first Thursday of each month. Just one visit and you cant stop visiting as the miracles are outpouring and instant.
Church hidden away down a side street. Whenever I have gone past, door always open as tradition states churches should have (but don't normally)

A lovely church next to covent garden. When materialism has failed to deliver one can come here for peace and happiness.
Es feíto pero tiene el calor de cualquiera de las pequeñas iglesias católicas q se encuentran en el centro de Londres.
Feeling like getting into a secret silent place, a big contrast with crowded street outside, plus a Xmas manger
