Amazing teacher parent communication. Staff and teachers acknowledge kids everyday and seem to honestly care for them. Love the emphasis in working with the community and nutrition. We like the focus on movement breaks. My kid’s feedback is the most important to me and so far she has flourished here since she has transferred from her other school. She talks about her school everyday. Parents who get involved in school and asked questions usually get answers. No all work can be done by the school or teachers. No school is perfect and there is always room for improvement. Facilities for elementary school could be bigger and Spanish lessons could be given more often. Volunteering, being involved and enticing dialogue works wonders for the common good. No all parents, teachers, and human beings are perfect but learning to work through differences is an important skill, at least for us, that we are trying to teach our kid as well as respect those differences. Complaining and doing nothing about it doesn’t generate positive change. School is diverse enough another plus since the fabric of our society is changing so rapidly learning to work with all people from different racial, ethnic, financial backgrounds, learning disabilities, etc. is going to be very important for our kiddos’ generation.
This school has been an incredible experience for my Kindergarten son and our family. The parent-teacher communication goes way beyond expectations. I truly feel my son is valued and the students are taught to be good citizens. I love their emphasis on movement and healthy living, and the thematic units are great ways to get young children excited about school and engaged with the learning process in a hands on way. I've also been impressed with the engagement of the parents, and the warmth we all show to one another. I've yet to meet anyone who wasn't kind and welcoming. If you like the Basic teaching concept, and are looking for a community that is engaged and active participants in their children's education, with a focus on the whole child, then this school is a wonderful option!
what ever you do,dont go to this school even if its your last option. most of the teachers are bad and dont teach and if your child's grade is down then the teachers will not help them bring it up. the people running the school make dumb choices in there school like spending a ton of money from parents pockets to make/get stuff for the kids to use and then not let them use it (or at least at high school its that way). at the middle school there are mostly bad teachers and (high school too) they are just setting them up for failure
Corvian is horrible, at least for the fifth grade. The teachers aren't special at all, the way they teach is rubbish; I mean your child could learn more in two hours than one school day there. Of course, NO ONE LIKES COMMON CORE! But I guess they can't control that. The methods are terrible. Only go to this school if it's one of your last options.
horribly rude teacher who was completely unprofessional during and after the parent teacher conference. she was unprofessional in explaining any academic performance about the child as well as reluctantly to talk about anything academically related. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNCARING ABOUT THE CHILDREN. PLAYS FAVORITES
Not a good school experience. The administration and staff do not seem to be well connected to the classroom and many decisions are plain wrong or not thought out. Some teachers are great, some are not, overall, this school offers an overall inconsistent experience.
Parents are very well-informed of what is going on with their children's academic activities because communication is consistent. My child is enjoying her class, learning a lot and meeting new friends. The staff is amazing, courteous and friendly!
No school is perfect but my kids have learned so much here, built friendships, and had the confidence to try clubs after school. Teachers are great and very communicative! Really like the whole child focus.
This is our second year at Corvian, and we've had the best school experience ever!!
Awesome! I currently go to the middle school, but my experence here was great!!
This school believes in its students and focuses on each individual.
