Every time I rebuttal the bill the waitress- goes to the owner to get approval to correct the pricing. When using your coupon, and if you order more then two meals (such as appetizers, pie, etc.) They will use that item as your buy one get one free. As well, when using the "All you can eat fish" coupon, they will charge you $12.99 which is the dinner meal price- which includes only 3 pc. The coupon for all you can eat fish, price is $11.99. The fish is good, and I continue to go for "All you can eat fish." However, the vinegar is so watered down, your fish will taste like fish in water. Yes, it may be only a few dollars, for one customer. But take that amount x 20 a day. It adds up quickly. I have no issue paying for what I want, but I have an issue with someone cheating me.

I called in my order and was told it would be 10 mins. I went to the store near door to waste time. I stayed in there for about 20. I have pleurisy so my breathing is sometimes labored. When I left the store and walked over to Country Boys, I wasn't feeling quite well. I assumed my order would be ready. It was not. I then heard the lady mention something about a big take out order and she had just sent it back. She SWORE it was not my order. By me not feeling well I said to her if that is my order just cancel it because I don't feel to good. She and her co worker assured me it was not. She then mentioned my order would be up in 2 mins. 20 mins later. Dizzy, hot flashes and hard to breathe she was finally bagging my order. I believe that order she put in last minute was my order, you can plainly see it was rushed. The french toast full order was completely missing. The fries were burnt to a crisp, beyond brown. The hashbrowns were orderd well done the were soft and mushy and the english muffin was a black brick. As I am typing this i am thinking, "I should have taken a picture while I was still in the kitchen" but not feeling well and frustrated with my order I just wanted to come have a rest. I moved here 6 years ago and saw this place. It reminded me of home (Detroit) because every year after church on New Years Eve the kids and I would go to our Country Boys. But in 6 years we never tried this one. It was just nice to always see the sign. But I finally wanted to try it. Epic fail. The manager gave me a credit for the French toast, but I'm not sure if that will ever be used. So sad. So disappointed. And it wasn't even busy in there. SMDH.

My son wanted to go out for breakfast for his 10th birthday, in passing we saw the sign for Country Boys and decided to stop in. There was no wait time, (Now I Know why.) We got seated at our table immediately. I can appreciate that the place was pretty clean, it was super cold. Our waitress was very nice but there wasn't really much she could do about the food. My children ordered hot chocolates, and none of them could even drink them.. as there was a bunch of oil/crust residue floating at the top of the cup, and the kids that did bravely take a sip said that it had no flavor and that residue was getting in their mouth. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy and I let me,just say I've had better biscuits and gravy at the soup kitchen. His biscuits were so hard that the waitress couldn't even cut into them. The actual taste of the food in my opinion on a scale from 1 to 10 would be a 1. We essentially wasted 50 plus dollars, and the kids begged to go to IHOP or Denny's after leaving Country Boys. When I did take the hot chocolate and the biscuit concerns up to the front desk, one of the women up there could care less and was so rude and nonchalant. Thank goodness my waitress understood and was able to take off the hot chocolates and the biscuit and gravy. I personally wouldn't recommend Country Boys to anyone.

There are only two breakfast restaurants that I will stand behind in this city. These are the types of places you would find in the Midwest, and you will find the best quality breakfast food around at these restaurants. One of them is Harlow’s on university in Tempe, but if you want the same quality food anywhere in North Phoenix, or on the west side of the city, you will have to go to Country Boys. I would not recommend going to the location on Greenway and 32nd St. the best location to go to is 35th Ave. and Cactus, or the one on Camelback. These locations care the most about the quality of the food, and you can rely on getting what you’re looking for in these places at an amazing price for the quality of food that you’re getting. I personally recommend getting their grill fried home fries. They cooked them to a crispy perfection without making them too greasy, or deep frying them. They also have the best price around for breakfast, and very friendly service. They have a amazing cozy environment that is easy to wake up to. It is NOT overcrowded, overly noisy, loaded with children, too cold, etc. I was a chef for the first 20 years of my life, and I am picky as _____ about my food. These guys have the best attitude about my picky orders and always get it right. I love this place!

6/12/22 update. Only change is they are not accepting the coupons currently. That puts breakfast for two with drinks & tip up to $38. Worth it? You'll have to be the judge...but I have doubts. I've eaten here a number of times now for breakfast and once for dinner. I was surprised that dinner was very good for this type of establishment. It's not five-star gourmet but for comfort food at a reasonable price, I was very satisfied. Their drinks are double the price they should be but that's the same as every other restaurant now. $3 for a cup of coffee or tea. Their coupons specials once you buy the two drinks, are about the same price or more than the daily specials if you don't get drinks. The service was friendly and attentive, so no complaints there. It's never been very busy when I've gone. if you want to go someplace to get in and out pretty quickly, with decent food, this is a good bet. It's very reminiscent of a small Midwestern Town diner.

My family and I walked into the restaurant, ready to have a nice country boy breakfast the server didn’t know what table she was delivering what food too we got someone else’s food someone else got our food we thought we were speaking to the manager, but she was just another server and the owner over here yelling at us saying she will comp our food and for us too go now the service was terrible. The way jerika threw our plates on the table was so unacceptable I didn’t get to eat I ask for medium rare steak, it was cooked so hard the eggs were white and running all over the the plate we asked for potatoes and got hash browns I would avoid this place simply because the service is from hell and the owner was very rude and did not ask us the problem before walking over to the table she asked us how much we wanna pay We stated we wanna pay for what we ate which was nothing AVOID

The restaurant is pretty clean, but the hours were all over the place the last 10 times I visited, and the food has gotten more expensive and portions smaller. Not the worst restaurant, but not the favorite diner I've loved for 20 years. ----- Review 2018 ----- New hours have really helped with cleanliness and quality of service. New employees on most shifts (I come here all times of day and night) are all fantastic. Food is good, cheap, and very very consistent. Plus, they have tons of options. Come try it, they have awesome coupons if you do like it, and if you don't, it's the same price as anything similar.

Easter Monday my girlfriend Allison and I visited Country Boys for the first time ever and we had a really great experience with Erica as our server, she was on point and super friendly and genuinely helpful. I tried with much delight the sourdough burger with the coleslaw, the coleslaw y'all is BOMB!! so darn good! I try coleslaw everywhere I go and this was the pinnacle of coleslaw swear to God!! ✌and the burger was juicy and hot and perfect! My lady had the mushroom burger and fries and she loved it, "cooked perfectly" she said, the veggie toppings pickles etc were fresh and beautiful! Fries crispy and hot!..This place is clean and nicely kept with a down home, comfort food vibe everywhere even including the restrooms. I will definitely most definitely be back again and again and will drag everyone I know to this desert gem! Thx Country Boys and ESPECIALLY Erica!!!

I was in the mood for a down-home cooked meal in a retro setting. What comes to mind when you're in Phoenix ... Mel's Diner, of course! A buddy and I tried Country Boy's and we hit a home run! Very 70s retro appearance, clean and had the typical diner menu which had plenty of offerings. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. Our appetizers were both plenary and delicious. I tried the country fried steak and was in my glory enjoying it until my tank hit full! Very reasonably priced and a place I'd recommend if you don't mind a retro setting and a typical diner menu. Mel Sharples couldn't hold a candle to Country Boys! Please visit them for an outstanding down-home meal experience!

The diner was very nice. Reminds me of old movies. My waitress was very nice. I ordered the super skillet, I think that’s what it’s called. I took a few bites but could not stomach it. I had egg whites which were still raw. My potatoes seemed more like they were boiled. I had canned mushrooms and I think canned tomatoes in my skillet. I think the eggs and onions were the only fresh ingredients in my skillet. I felt bad and didn’t say anything. The waitress asked if we wanted boxes which I declined and she asked if there was a problem which I just mentioned the eggs were raw. At this point I didn’t even want anything else but I also didn’t feel as I should’ve had to pay for that meal that was very gross. She didn’t even offer to take it off the bill. This was my first time here. I was driving by and thought I’d give it a shot which I did and now I know.

Absolutely HORRIBLE! We've been coming here for years. Busy, empty it didn't matter. They were always on point. Until January 1st 2023. They weren't very busy. I ordered a veggie omelette minus tomatoes and bell peppers. First one has both. Sent back. Second one, no tomatoes, no bell peppers, but massive amounts of onions. Massive amounts. I picked out a plate full and there were still more. The taste was awful. Sent it back. By the third time, everything else was cold, including my coffee. I'd all but lost my appetite. When the manager came out, she was rude and started to get loud. She was very defensive and kept trying to dismiss the facts, saying it's backed up in the kitchen. I don't see how, as it was not that busy. After years of regular visits, we will no longer be supporting this business.

Sucks, I was fired wrongful on October 15th at 9:48am only had 1 table and I got fired in front of them for not cleaning a table fast enough for Annie manng the owner she sat a new table at a dirty table, then proceeded to clean plates off another table right next to the table she sat told me it was my job to clean the table I told her no problem then she fired me my mother just passed away September 21st two days after returning I thought I had a stroke I worked there 7 days a week for the last 2 years you all know I just asked her for a little bit of a break and one day off and she was mad at me and punishing me ever since I'm very sorry that happened to me but I'm not sorry for my customers that I met and I want to let you all know I appreciate every single one of you very much

The food was absolutely delicious the food presentation was amazing and our waitress was the best part of the visit by far. Our waitress was Erica and I have never met someone so kind and caring and so in touch with all of their customers like she Is. Everytime I go in she greets everyone with her amazing smile and she treats every customer as if they were the only ones in the room. Bad health and sanitary practices. Our waitress brought us an extra side of French toast and when we said it wasn't ours she said we could keep it then she came back a few min later and took it back saying she had to give it to the right table then came back to our table a few min later with the same French toast and said we could have it . We refused it .I don't think it's safe practice to serve food that has already been served to another party and taken back because the waitress can't get her orders straight. We were appalled that she tried giving it back to us a second time after it had been passed around between 2 different parties of people.

I have been in country boys Restaurant numerous times in the last couple of months and I am amazed by Erica! I have watched her wait 10 tables as well as 4 individuals at the bar all by herself and not break a sweat. She pleasant to talk to and is smiling all the time. She stays on top of her refills. She makes sure you order is brought to you table as soon as it is up and does not let it set up there and get cold. She is just straight on top of it. What a pleasure to watch someone that is truly skilled at their job! After have being in so many restaurants where the waitress have no clue what they're doing! Erica is phenomenal, the food is excellent! If you have the time and appetite, stop in and say hi! You will be impressed!

Wanted to check that place out for a long time. Give them my service instead of a big company like Denny's. . Like the movies a sort of speak Ma and Pa joint. And I did, Ordered the Steak and eggs. Came with hash browns or there own fries potatoes. Also my choice of. French toast. Or pancake I think. Or fruit. I had pine apple Big steak. Allot of potatoes. There own salsa. . wish I could give no stars. Horrible service. Waitress never came over to see if anything else needed. Had to keep flagging her down for refill of drink or food. The fish was burnt and was unable to eat it. Lots of tables complained about the burnt fish. The table of 3 next to me left because the fish was burnt. Only 5pm and they were out of salad. Coleslaw was inedible. Had hard piece of pineapple on top. Had coupon for dinner $10.99 but was charged $11.99. They said they raised their prices even though it was a current coupon. Ask for manager and was told no one there. Waitress would not give me manager's name. Waitress wore her mask under her mouth even while serving food. Mouth and nose was exposed entire time ☹️

This place is very racist ...my experience was very horrible I will never recommend this place they had wait for 5 mins just looking at me knowing it was free to seat anyway ... Then we sit down and no one brings us menus ... We just sitting there I'm watching the whole time no one is even thinking about brings us one then 4 others walk in and they immediately give them menus and take there order ... When I asked for manager the lady said she was and when I told her about the issue she said I didn't see you .. I said yes you did because you looked at me 2-3 times talked to the other lady this place is not nice if you're not there kind of people... So sad that in 2022 business treat people like this ...

I went to this restaurant last night with my friend. The waitress had her mask down the entire time under her mouth, which made us both feel super uncomfortable. I got charged extra for sweet potato fries when I was not told getting them would be an extra charge at all. I never got my dinner roll that came with my ham dinner that I ordered. My friend Laura got the fish dinner and she didn’t even think the fish was cooked all the way at all. She ended up ordering something else on the menu. Our waitress didn’t check on us hardly at all and was not attentive. Their was only one other table of people in the entire restaurant on a Friday night. Sadly, we will not be back at all to state the obvious.

Hi I looked up your restaurant yesterday on line and I liked your website and so we were in Phoenix today picking up relatives at Sky Harbor. So we stopped by after on our way back to Prescott to have breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised with your service and your food. All four of us enjoyed your food and our waitress Erika was fantastic. Again we enjoyed our visit to your Cactus location and now we have a great place to eat when we come down from the mountains to the valley. Solid diner experience. Most of the time, it's been a great place for breakfast items. Last time, I had a NY strip steak, baked potato,and green beans. I asked for the steak to be Medium, came out medium-well, and the green beans were not seasoned. My brother Rick took me here along time ago great place to eat great service went there last weekend with my three grandchildren my daughter and her boyfriend again great food and the best sever ever Erica we tipped extra cause she goes above and beyond for customers I asked for chalulla sauce the restaurant doesn't carry it but she bought some for the customers that want it from her own pocket we will be going again soon and they sang my daughter happy birthday and gave her a free slice of warm apple pie with whipped cream on the house

First time being at this place, we had a party of 8. Waited 30 minutes to be seated, once seated & with no menus, the waitress rudely walked by and said “it’s going to be awhile until I can get to you guys!”.. So we continued to patiently wait. Another 30 minutes goes by WITHOUT EVEN GETTING MENUS!! And the waitress still hasn’t even acknowledged us or asked for drinks!.. After being there WAITING an hour for pretty much anything at this point, we left!! HORRIBLE service.. Cant even say anything about the food since we didn’t get that far!

Unfortunately my order was incorrect and wasn't taken care of. My friend and I are very non confrontational (and we're taught never to send food back), so I didn't eat most of my meal due to an allergy. Normally a server would have noticed but the poor girl was by herself and it was busy. So I don't blame her. I do blame management for not being staffed appropriately. The food I was able to eat was very good! I will try it again at some point and if I have a better experience I will update.

Virtually everything on the menu is $12. I think coffee was $3.99. The food was just fine. Nothing to write home about. Service was great and was really the highlight of the meal. The atmosphere feels like a dozen different country diners I've visited in Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas. Great "home cooking" with impeccable service by Erica or Sue. They both go above and beyond with old fashion and fast customer service! Your only a Stranger there once!! Erica manages it for the owner. She takes pride and treats it like she owns it! Never an empty glass/cup there! The place is super clean and Friendly! Reasonably priced!! Don't miss this amazing place and amazing service by Erica and Sue! Don't forget the "BEST" Chef in town "Eddie" who has worked there for several years!! I eat here 3-4 days a week. Feels like home.....

Our waitress was excellent, as was the older Hispanic gentleman helping us! It looked like he was working as a busser? I'm giving 3 stars because our experience was tainted by a different waitress who was outright nasty to the busser that was helping us. Her jokes with us and some other tables were mean spirited (my husband is Salvadorian and Mexican, the other tables had people of color). She was only polite and patient with tables who didn't have people of color. I should have gotten her name.

The only down fall is that they don't do the coupons anymore. That's the only reason me and dad go here Is to use the coupons. But my dad says we won't come back her till they bring the coupons back.

Overall experience was good. The service was excellent. My son's eggs were undercooked though the food was better than I remember. The prices were a bit high comparatively speaking as they have been previously known to be very affordable place to eat. They are now basically on par with Denny's, yet the food is better at Denny's, in my opinion. That said, they are not very busy and the food is okay. So in a pinch not a bad place to go considering the service again is excellent.

Been here twice. Waitresses are very nice, the food is remarkable. It gives a comforting home feeling. Coffee is amazing. Had the country fried steak twice and it is my go to. My man loves the skillets and the waffles or pancakes. Does not disappoint. Food portions are awesome and you will leave full. Pricing is great also. I want to try lunch there as well. Perhaps the worst diner breakfast I've ever had. Have been coming here for decades, everything was fine, especially for those who like the old school atmosphere. When owner Annie took over from Dave, it went downhill fast. She is doubling the tax rate, but not putting it on the check. That could net her the $3k to cover her monthly utilities since there are no customers anymore. The sad thing is, when she goes to prison, we won't have anywhere to eat breakfast.

Service was not good at all. My ham and cheese omelet was bland. My wife's waffles were cold and the syrup was very sweet. Never came to ask about refil on coffee. Had to ask for silverware to eat with and was only given forks. Never going back. Was not worth the 35 dollars for 2.

This restaurant is awesome my boyfriend and I came here to eat one night. I had breakfast which was eggs, hash browns and toast while he had bacon burger which was grilled to his specifications. I really enjoyed it and our waitress was really sweet. I wanted to try their desert menu but after my meal I was stuffed. Really great atmosphere. Picture was taken in the car in the parking lot.

This is what a diner style breakfast spot is supposed to be. Big portions for good prices. And everything was great. The bacon cheeseburger omelette is perfect if you can't decide on breakfast or lunch! Service was great and would love to give it 5 stars but just can't. Will definitely be back though and who knows. Maybe the charm will win me over and the rating will change. Stay tuned!

Sunday brunch after church don’t recommend unless you have patience. We sat down 30 min no service plus we waited 10-15 min for a seat we did have a party of 8 so we understood the wait. But we didn’t even get menus or even water. We had to get up and grab a menu. And my kids and my family’s kids were hungry and we just couldn’t wait. So we left. Good we have had before is good.

Perfect for a quiet breakfast. The food is definitely always delicious and the servers wonderful too

I had a mushroom, bacon, swiss cheese omelet. They used canned mushrooms. It had no flavor. I got French toast on the side and it was too sweet. The service could have been better. It looked like they had one waitress on a Sunday morning. By the time one of our party got her food it was cold.

Love the food, delicious. The staff was kind, friendly and helpful. Google took me to the wrong restaurant and Country Boys employee was kind enough to wait for me after the restaurant closed, I was 10 minutes late I was very grateful and impressed most places will not show that much respect. Not sure how this place has more than two stars. The service was great, but the food was horrible, disgusting, as a matter of fact. The meat in the sandwich was rotten, the smell hit my nose before the food hit my mouth. The biscuits were gross and tasted like someone added extra chlorine to the mix and we're covered with a pudding like flavorless gravy. Just gross.

Good food and friendly staff. Prices are good and you get a reasonable amount of food too First time here. We will be back when we are in the area.

It is a good value for the price. The place is kind of rundown. When they have their coupons going it's a really good deal but they are currently on hiatus due to inflation. I get The Omelette hash browns and biscuits and gravy and I always have two to three meals out of it.

We brought about 28 football players, five cheerleaders, approximately fifteen adults to have breakfast at Country Boys. We were on our way to Sedona. The restaurant took us all in and fed us without a glitch. I do not know how many orders of biscuits and gravy or breakfast burritos they made but they did very well. Everyone is full and happy.

The food was on point. My gf wanted strawberries and whip cream on her waffle and she got it right away. The waitresses are very nice lady's. Thank you! Definitely will return.

This is the BEST southern style breakfast I've had in YEARS (besides my own cooking). The bacon cheeseburger omlete with a side of biscuits and gravy with home fries was AMAZING! I made myself eat half and gave the other half to a friend. Will be going back!

We have been to this place before for breakfast and it was a really nice family environment. but this was our first time durring dinner time my wife and I both had the all you can eat fish fry the only thing we would like to see as a change was the coleslaw. We felt that it was a little soupy. All around we enjoyed the meal.

Food was disgusting . Ordered the special 1/4 BBQ ribs and food didn't taste right. Right after I ate my stomach started to hurt, I went straight to the restroom. Never eating there again.

One of my fave restaurants in AZ! I live out of state now, but we always reminisce about CB! I’m not sure if they still have their coupons, but those were a great deal back in the day. My husband liked the Western burger and I would usually get breakfast. Make sure to ask for the home fries deep fried, SO yummy with ranch.

This breakfast/diner is legit! It reminds me of being in the Midwest and the food is Amazing! The prices are decent and the waitresses keep it real. My family always wants me to pick up from here. My favorite is the corned beef hash meal with eggs, home fries and I always pick the biscuits and gravy as my side. Yummmmm!

Love their chicken fried steak! Eggs were cooked to order and done perfectly with nice crispy hash browns plus you can never go wrong with biscuits and gravy!

Is dinner special meat loaf double mashed potatoes with Brown gravy from heaven country boy's restaurant is out of this world. Stella was very kind and is very kind and welcomed me and my service dog Anastasia. Service was that of a down home southern kitchen. I look forward to returning very soon with my appetite.

Big breakfast is truly worth every little penny! If your hungry this little is it! Yummy pancakes the ham is small and a little tough but you get so much else for the dollars! The menu is so extensive good luck figuring out what to eat! Be sure to "ask" for the coupons do you can eat often and take friends out! Ha!

Hair in my Clam Chowder! Waitress did give me another bowl but never expressed any remorse nor did she apologize! Just acted like it was all normal! Service was sub par. Fish really sucked. But to be fair other people there seemed to like the fish. In hind sight I'm kicking myself for having left a decent tip.

They don't have touch pay but other than that LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEEEEDDDDD IT!! I had a breakfast combo and my daughter's pancakes were mucky most shaped she was excited about that!! I live how they promote local business. I'll be back probably for a fish fry!

All my stars are for the staff. Very talkative if you feel like you want to spend time relaxing not wanting to go home. Food quality needs improvement. I had breakfast Chicken fried steak, patty seemed frozen gravy packaged but whomever cooks the eggs know how to get them exactly how you want them.

Great food at a great price! The service was great too. She was very attentive and gave us coupons. Breakfast was amazing but the only thing we could complain about is the order of mashed potatoes. They smelled and tasted old, kinda smelled like dirt. All the other things we are were amazing.

Went on a Sunday morning was not crowded but the service was horrible my kids never got syrup for their pancakes and when the servir brought the food she brought the check like she was done with us. I definitely don't recommend this place

Rarely do I give such a poor review, but when I do, I want to say why. It was a Sunday morning at around 11:30 AM. The restaurant wasn’t that busy. The eggs I ordered appeared dirty. The toast was at least a day old. Biscuits and gravy was ok… and you have to beg at least twice for coffee.

Penny was amazing she didn't rush us to order and the food was on point good and big portions

Stopped for the fish fry. We ordered the cod. It came with soup, small bowl of chowder, salad, cole slaw and french fries. Everything was excellent! The fish was tasty and crunchy. The chowder was good and salad was good. Service was great. Overall it was a great lunch. We will be back.

Saw the price for country fried steak on a laminated card on the table but opened the menu anyway. Ordered that and when the bill arrived it was apparently for the higher priced one in the menu. Be careful to explain when you order. Otherwise the food was good and service top notch.

The food was amazing!!! Our server Melissa was wonderful and kind and patient we had my son with us who's autistic she treated him like any other child she had great patients!!! Definitely will be coming here again and we will request Melissa!!!
