Recently I brought my little rat in for an emergency. Dr. Torevell saw him right away and although I'm very grateful he was taken care of, her bedside manner is terrible. My boy injured his toe somehow and while asking me about it, made me feel awful that something happened, as though my fault. She gave me two options: immediate amputation, or else treat with antibiotics and hope for the best. I asked about weighing the risks between the two procedures, and she said that while amputation does lead to a risk with anaesthetic, leaving it with antibiotics would likely lead to sepsis and death, so I opted for surgery. The procedure went great and my boy was healing well. Again, for this I am extremely grateful. Unfortunately he was also very old, and passed away this morning, unrelated to his injury or any other health concerns. My mom called the clinic go inform them of his passing, where Dr. Torevell was quite rude/unsympathetic, and said I should never have had him in surgery, he would have been better off just leaving the injury open and treated with antibiotics (AGAINST what she told me before I spent nearly $500 for surgery, just trying to help him feel better). As long as she works here, I will NOT be back. I don't want my furry family members treated with such distaste. That rat was my world, and I do not appreciate being made out to look like an idiot when I only wanted what was best, and followed her own advice. Vets should care about their patients, not use their passing as a means to bring their owners down on an already devastating day. I will give them this: I am thankful for the receptionist who booked me in right away, as well as Ashley the tech, who was very sweet to my boy during his initial exam! They are the only reasons I will give 2 stars rather than 1.

I had to make the heart-wrenching choice to put my 14 year old cat to sleep today due to continued mental decline. However, I did not use Crestview as I was told a $70 exam was required first to determine if she was healthy or not, seeing she was not a patient. Being an indoor cat and the only animal I had, I have been very lucky that she has not needed a veterinary clinic as a routine patient and has never had any illnesses. She had become extremely aggressive this past week and I hardly think the vet could have examined her properly anyways. But it is how I was spoken to by the receptionist that has prompted me to write a review. I was told that it is too hard on the vets to euthanize a healthy animal, nowhere in that conversation was there a discussion about the feelings and emotional stress for the pet and owner. I made it clear my cat is 14 and not 4 years of age, but the tone of voice I was given suggested I might be an irresponsible and heartless pet owner who didn't have the common sense to know when their aging animal was suffering. I went to Silver Heights Vet Hospital instead where they fully understand that quality of life is just as important mentally as it is physically, and they treated us both with dignity and respect.

You're the worst human being I have ever interacted with, Dr. Torevell. You didnt give a care we spent weeks calling around the city trying to get an appointment for my cat after he injured his leg, you just said "well weve been here the whole time" as if I'm supposed to have KNOWN to call her clinic from the start. Get over yourself lady. If you dont call them back after they give you a 3000$ quote, they call humane society on you and tell them you're negligent. Clearly all she cares about is money and not the animals, otherwise maybe you could have referred us to somewhere more affordable so, uh, maybe MY CAT DIDNT HAVE TO BE EUTHANIZED? My buddy could have lived another few years but you took him away from me you monster. And for what, your paycheck!? Rot in piss

This place is great to have your dog groomed and six months check ups. This place has been around along time. It has a good reputation and excellent service and staff. The staff take care of your dog. When they are finished they call and let you know how much the bill is and your dog is ready to be picked up. For how much they charge they do an excellent job. Your dog is treated with respect. My dog loved this place and the staff. They treat your dog like a human and never heard anything bad about this place. My sister is a Doctor Doctor of Veterinarian Medicine of Canada. She works out of Ottawa. She lived in Winnipeg but moved to Ottawa and knows what Veterinarian places are good in St.James and Winnipeg. She has always said Crestview has a great reputation.

I’ve been bringing my cats and dogs to Crestview for care for more than 20 years, and I’m so thankful to have access to such a compassionate and talented team. Dr Torevell is efficient in exams, but always has time to provide a cuddle to her patients. I appreciate that she always presents the facts in a supportive way. You genuinely feel that she’s working with you for the best outcome while being selective and measured in what tests and procedures are recommended. Prices are comparable to any vet clinic with the required modern equipment and skilled technicians. Veterinarians and vet techs are an incredibly important part of our community and there’s never been a more urgent need to lift them up.

We recently moved into the city and decided to change vets as this one is very close to our new house. We are extremely happy with the service we recieved. A lot of Vets seem to be very judgy about what you feed your dog etc. and we didnt get any of that here. All the staff was very friendly. The Dr. took the time to have a conversation with us about our dog and was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We had perscription allergy pills that they even took the time to quarter for us as our small dog gets a small dose (our last vet just gave us the pills and I had to cut them all up myself). Rates are reasonable and wait time was minimal. Look forward to dealing with them for years to come.

Insultingly incompetent. Dog hurt foot, turns out fractured. Went in, it was clearly swollen and would not put weight on it. We were insisting that it was the foot and yet despite the clear evidence and us being adamant it was the foot they continued to think for what ever reason the knee was the issue. The end result are poorly done xrays that dont even include the entire foot since they focused on above that. Have since had to go to another vet who saw the fracture they did not. Truly disgusting and offensive. Hundreds of dollars wasted. Took our money and sent the poor dog home with a broke foot with 0 care, not wrapped or anything.

They switched my vet to someone else, charged me twice for an X-ray and made me switch from an injection for my cats pneumonia to a pill that my cat has extremely hard time with. For two X-rays because the cat moves I find that extremely messed up at the price of 200$ don’t go here unless you want to be gouged for prices and want to become evil in your pets eyes, I will be taking my Miss meow somewhere else this was the worst experience in the world. To add they didn’t tell me my cat has possible neoplastic lesions on her lungs in person but only told me after I expressed the discomfort of my last visit I am mortified.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Kovacs when my 12 yr old schnauzer mix was in distress & my regular vet clinic could not fit me in short notice. I was too concerned about my pet to not do something with a long weekend looming. My vet suggested this clinic as an alternative & they were able to fit me in. Found the staff very friendly and thorough in their prep questions for the vet. Dr Kovac was very empathetic & knowledgeable finding the source of my dog’s distress quickly. Was in & out with a complete set of instructions & supplies, meds etc and found the cost very reasonable. I would highly recommend them.

I had an issue with one of my foster cats and was concerned for the health of my own cats. I left a message at the Clinic and one of the Drs phoned me back several hours later. I was so impressed not only by her responsiveness and willingness to answer my questions but by her compassion and kindness. I was already so pleased by the care received by my pets at this clinic and the wonderful staff but to me, this went above and beyond my expectations! My sincerest thanks

I have had many cats over the years and the staff at Crestview were very professional and compassionate when I brought them in to meet their needs. My sister was visiting me from Toronto when I took in one of my pets and she told the vet she couldn’t believe how thorough the examination was. They are mindful of the high expenses in vet care and will always draw up an estimate of the fees involved.

This is how a Veterinary Clinic should be run. Zero pressure, full attentiveness and care for your pet and no recommendations to buy something that your pet doesn't need. This was the issue I ran into at 2 other clinics where it almost seems like an upsell scam just to soak as much money out of you as they can. This place is the real deal and I'm very happy I found it.

We requested a prescription refill for our dog, which takes several days lead time. They filled it in two days and then we were running late coming to pick it up, so we called ahead to say we'd be there right at closing time and they said no problem. We arrived at closing time and they had our prescription at the counter ready to go.

I have always had a positive experience at crestview vet. Häxa was in good hands anytime he was there. This week i had to say good bye to Tigger. The staff was very easy to deal with. They took care of tigger and treated him with dignity. Thank you for helping care for my baby in his last hrs

Doctor is not very friendly, she was mad to my wife right away not even asking the reception the right info for my dogs issue. I wasted my 45 mins driving and money didn't get the right help. Worst vet place I've been to..not trying to hate just sharing my experienced

Dr. K. MacDonald and the staff at Crestview were very caring, compassionate, supportive and professional when our little baby loss her battle to cancer. Her final moments were filled with love and finally peace. We will forever grateful with everyone at Crestview.

I've been to quite a few Veterinary offices over the years and Crestview is definitely one of my favourites. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable with extremely reasonable prices. I will definitely continue to use them for all of my pets going forward.

Be Knowledgeable and extremely aggressive getting treatment.Do not be brushed aside.Because of their size things can go horribly wrong incredible fast.If financing is an issue Petcard can approve your expenses quickly.These are all things I wish I was told.

If you want your animals to live - DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE!!!! We almost lost our dog this weekend b/c their vet yelled at me that she had no idea what was wrong with our dog. She had a uterine infection and it almost burst. Worst people ever.

This place is always busy but it never cuts into your one on one time with the vet or tech. You’re never rushed and they go into great detail when it comes to your pets. Very professional and helpful, can’t rave enough about this place.

They treat our dog good and are very friendly. We have need going here for over 9 years spanning 2 dogs. They are followingal social distancing protocols as well. I would recomend this place to anyone who needs a vet.

Dr Torevell has been amazing dealing with our dogs. She takes the time to answer any questions and address any concerns. The staff is always friendly and show a real genuine concern for our babies.

Would give no stars if i could. Brought my cat in on the 20th and my cat was given meds. Did not get better and had to take my cat to another vet due to worsening health. Well now my cat is dead.

They're amazing. My cat acts like a jerk every time we go and they always make us feel like they don't mind. Also took good care of our bunnies and a dog. All around good things to say.

Took the cats to have there nails trimmed. Showed up about ten minutes early. They took the cats in and had them out before our appointment time. Super fast and careful.
