This past weekend, my family and I decided to book a reservation for afternoon tea. Firstly, it was super easy to make a reservation, and the staff member was very accommodating when we had to change our date and time. Once there, the atmosphere was adorable. It had a very quirky "Alice in Wonderland" feel with an element of class. All of the staff were welcoming and friendly. The service was decent - our waiter did disappear at one point, though, and didn't mention that he was changing shifts. So, we were a little surprised when someone new came to the table to help us. Now onto the food - we all got the traditional tea menu, and it was delicious. All of the savory bites were seasoned to perfections - the steak and stilton pie was hands down my favorite. The desserts were good, but I was slightly underwhelmed. I found several of them dry and bland. The tea, however, was exceptional. I tried their "mythical creatures" blend and was saddened to know that I could not buy it to take it home. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience, and we've already talked about going back.

A friend from out of town and I had afternoon tea recently at the Crosby Street Hotel as our holiday treat. The sandwiches were ice cold, the bread stale on one side and soggy on the other. It was clear that they were made earlier and frozen/refrigerated. When my friend said something to the waiter, the food director came over to the table and confirmed that the sandwiches were made earlier in the day because the restaurant gets busy. He replaced them with a few that were freshly made at our request. Tea sandwiches should be light, flavorful complements to the tea. These sandwiches are thick and more like lunch sandwiches. For the price of $65 per person, freshly made to order delicious sandwiches should be basic. The scones were warm and good. The pastries were indifferent. The service was poor -- our waiter never came over to ask if we needed anything. We had to flag him down for more hot water, for example. If you would like a lovely, delicious, relaxing afternoon tea, Crosby Street Hotel is definitely NOT the place to go.

We had a lovely brunch at the Crosby. Very good service and food, and the decor was lovely and inviting. The portions were a bit small, and there wasn't much accompanying most of the entrees, except for the burger, which one in my group had. The burger was just fine. Everything else was a la carte. The bread was lovely looking, but not great, kind of tasteless. We enjoyed dining in the space, it was so pretty, and although not small, the decor made it wam and cozy, yet also chic. I'd go back, but order more, or more carefully so I don't leave hungry. Mind you, ordering more food is liable to be expensive, and it was already an expensive brunch, but it was really relaxing to be there. I also note, to my great surprise, and joy, there were several cute little dogs there as well. Or maybe not so surprising, as the hotel is part of a group with really charming boutique hotels in the UK, one of which I had the pleasure of staying and dining at.

The afternoon tea food was good (the sweets were over the top sweet), but the service was awful, especially for $70 plus per person. In addition to not having been checked in on even once after the food was delivered, it took more than 25 minutes to find someone to pay, and then only because I went to ask the bartender to help since the waitstaff was absent. When finally with a waitress she seemed unwilling to help although finally consented when presented with the option of either providing the check or me walking out. Also, the hostess was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional and sat us at the tiniest table in a sea of unoccupied tables although she knew we were having the tea service. We were forced to use an extra chair to place some of the tea items, which is not acceptable. If they can improve their service, I would recommend with hestitation, otherwise, please search elsewhere, I would have preferred to pay $300 to a professional staff and restaurant.

Love, Love the Crosby Hotel bar/restaurant! The deco is absolutely fabulous, great big art installations inside & outside. Drinks great & so is the food. They're known for the tea experience - you know, what the Brits do.

The hotel itself was not visited. This review is for the dining area and the bar and lounge. I have to say everything was super chic, I would come here for a date. I came here for my friends graduation, and we bought champagne and cake, they were really helpful with our requests, and timing. There is a corkage and cutting fee (as expected) but it was worth it for us to see her smile. We got a prix-fixe menu, and they will do this for you on request. The food was good overall, with attention to detail and presentation, but I wouldn't give it high points for the tastiest fare in town. The drinks were super tasty though, perhaps get a liquid dinner. Oh and sit outdoors, the garden area is gorgeous

I stayed at the Crosby Street Hotel for 4 nights over Christmas. Without a doubt, my new favorite NYC hotel. The decor of this hotel is whimsically beautiful. Rooms are very, very generously sized. Restaurant opens at 7am which is nice. My two favorite aspects: location and the 24/7 room service. The street the hotel is located on is quiet. There's a starbucks and duane reade a three minute walk away. And the hotel is in my 2 favorite neighborhoods: Soho and Nolita. Room service food was better than any restaurant I ate at with quick delivery. Full menu is available 24/7 -- I love this.

What is special about Crosby Street Hotel is the top-notch consistency that this hotel delivers. We never get tired of the great rooms, exceptional services, great food, and location. The rooms are NY-large and decorated in a hip, casual, elegant way - always spotlessly cleaned. The service is top-notch and consistently so. The hotel restaurant is a destination by itself, providing consistent great food for all meals, plus room-service. And the SOHO neighborhood is high-energy, high-end, full of fun destinations, and without the crowds of tourists that just rolled off the buses. Just be prepared to pay for all this.

I only attended a pre-screening in the hotel's theatre room, but was floored as I walked through the doors. The lobby is beautiful! There is a bar/restaurant attached that is modern and bright. The bar menu has an array of delicious things to nibble on. We were on a tight schedule so we sipped Moscato. We were greeted by water and a bowl of nuts. The bartenders were friendly. I would come here after work or just a casual night out and grab a bite. There is also a private parlor, that is very fancy. The theme is dogs which is neat, even to a cat person like myself. It's off of Prince St which is shopping heaven.

Absolutely, positively loved our stay here! Upon arrival, we were greeted left and right by the bell boy, the valet and the hotel agent. He then upgraded me to an ocean view - which I didn't even request - at no additional charge. After walking down the beautiful hall to my room, where they place a fresh lavender sprig next to your hotel room number, I was immediately called by the operator to make sure everything was going well in my room. The bed was super comfy and the walls were thick enough that I didn't hear any hall way noise the entire night! I am looking forward to staying here again.

One of the best hotels in NYC. The staff are amazing and so nice, and the service was top notch. The rooms are beautiful and all the little details that come with your stay make it extra special. They have great food, a great fitness room and beautiful art located all around the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who likes the style and service of a Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton, but wants a quiet more low key experience. Great SoHo location. Will definitely stay here again on our next NYC trip.

Hands down my favorite place to stay in NYC, as a former New Yorker who moved out west. It always feels like a real home base, not a massively commercial hotel. The location could not be more central so it's always easy to walk, Uber, or cab to meet friends. I love that they have gorgeous spaces like the library and sculpture garden just for guests. Rooms are spacious and airy, with amazing natural light, and always well maintained. I've never noticed any worn out furnishings. And the staff nail it every time - friendly, efficient, and quick service but never hovering in your face.

  • Vanessa Powell

Ahhh I love this hotel. I come here for decor inspiration all the time. It has a great theater space and amazing beautiful amenities full of artwork. It's charming, colorful and expensive looking. The coffee and tea from the cafe/bar is like $8 but for some reason you just feel like it's worth it when you look around to see where you are. Not the best place for freelancers as for some areas you must be a hotel guest to hang out in. And there are no outlets in the cafe/bar area.

  • J W

Underwhelming. The advertised view from the top floor is nothing to write home about. The room is a little cramped and is seriously lacking cupboard space. While the bathroom is oddly spacious, but with only one sink and no bathtub. Also if you stay for one week I would expect staff at the reception to say hi and not only stare at me blankly. Overall performance should have been better given the price tag. I liked the Firmdale Soho hotel, so coming here was a disappointment.

  • Cheryl Marcus

I am sure the dinner menu and food quality is amazing this is a high end location. I only went for a late night drink and sat outside on the relaxing patio. The have tree's and lights and you'd barely notice you are in the city with the recessed patio. The drinks are unique and mine surprisingly was on fire! I look forward to going back and ordering a meal and sitting inside for the ambiance. The only thing is that finding the bathroom is a bit of a maze.

Went for Breakfast today, i always pass the outside terrace on the way to work, walked in, was immediately greeted by David, extremely friendly and accommodating waiter. Helped me with the menu, what to take to eat, drinks, etc. Very kind person, i will definitely be back here because of the experience David gave me and made me feel. At the end of the day that is what matters the most.

Just spent 3 wonderful nights at Crosby St Hotel and came away hating to leave. I love everything about it--kind helpful accessible staff, gorgeous and cozy decor and a feeling of warmth and comfort. Rooms are beautifully decorated but also set up for total convenience and comfort. Dining area is beautiful and serves a delicious breakfast. We also met friends for drinks in the guest only parlor and loved that too. We will definitely return.

$48 per person for what you see pictured. The gentleman who served us is my favorite waiter of alltime. A very jolly man. He made us feel like royalty. The tea was great but the food was simply not worth the price. Not even close. Not for $24 would i do this again. But the server was very lovely, our table was quiet and uninterrupted, and i had a great time. Fancy, expensive, and not meant for normal people trying to catch up together.

Cool hôtel, with very clean and comfortable rooms. Classy and decorated with taste for a fusion between classic European furniture and modern practical furniture. Cosy lobby and ready to help smart staff. This hotel has it all really.

I’ve been quite a few times for their afternoon tea and absolutely love it. The service is completely wonderful and attentive. Friendly and welcoming! The food is delicious as are their cocktails. We had the afternoon tea two times now and both times was a really delicious and unique experience. I highly recommend bringing guests from out of town or a special celebration there. Can’t wait to return again soon.

I didn't stay the hotel. I only went there to have afternoon tea. We were a group of two, and they let us order one afternoon tea set to share. I really liked their flexibility. Also, food was great. Since I'm not a big eater, it was enough for me. Waiters were nice and friendly, so I was comfortable. Very very cute decor. I would love to come back in warmer season to sit in the garden.

We only had dinner, so we cannot comment on the rooms, but the public area has been adoringly decorated by Kit Kemp. It is a feast for the eyes with all the art she has assembled.

Great menu. I love coming here for afternoon tea and sitting in the courtyard. They are very allergy friendly and accommodating. Had a greens bowl with an egg on top and it was healthy while still delicious. The bacon side is a must. This hotel restaurant still seems under the radar, which is always a plus as I hate crowded places. The art has a modern British influence.

Wonderful hotel. Nice design. Hard working, professional, and friendly staff. Wifi is about 95Mbps symmetrical. Rooms are unique in their design. Not much of a view from our room. Would be nice if the rooms had coffee in them. Excellent place to stay for a weekend in NYC.

Such a beautiful hotel. The hotel is very creative and eclectic in their design approach. We went to NYC for our son's NYU parent's wend and our wedding anniversary, and upon check-in we learned we had been upgraded to a suite. I can't tell you how beautiful the suite was. Thank you so much Crosby Street hotel and Staff! Keep up the good work!

  • Gretch K

My friend and I had aftern on tea here. Such a beautiful hotel. I felt a cross between London and Paris. I had traditional high tea. My friend had the gluten free high tea. The service could have been more attentive. The bathrooms are quite hidden. So if you cannot climb steps, not your place. The location is the best best part of this hotel.

  • Julia Art

My second time attending the Crosby Bar, it was equally impressive, and once again I was blown away. Note: I went for afternoon tea this time. Without a doubt, it is one of my favorite places to eat in New York City. Both the ambiance and the food at this restaurant were truly something special.

Stay for two nights. It's close to the time square and Broadway theaters. The room is a little small comparing to the usual countryside hotels, but about the same size as the hotel rooms in Europe. The hotel staffs are very polite and kind. The hotel provides free food in the morning and afternoon, with very good bakery and juice.

  • Patrick Phillips

We had a great stay at the Crosby. Beautifully put-together hotel in a convenient, surprisingly quiet SOHO location. Super-friendly and helpful staff, very nice restaurant and bar--plus a cozy little honor bar off the lobby--and a beautiful and spacious room. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Crosby Street Hotel! Great service, amazing location and a super comfortable room with a stunning view of the city. It's a very expensive place and not a value for money kind of place, but you get what you're paying for and I would really recommend it if you are looking to spoil yourself

“Wonderful!” Loved this hotel. Am a big fan of Firmdale Hotels. Charming, quirky, cozy.....lovely lobby bar and restaurant. Very appealing. Wonderful bright room with huge windows and views of city. Comfortable beds and baths....good service. They do everything right. Expensive but worth it....Great location!

We went for afternoon tea and it was exceptional. The menu of tea sandwiches and treats were delicious. The scones were lovely and were served with real clotted cream! They have a small tea selection, but they offer top notch loose leaf blends. We will definitely be back for another incredible tea time.

Didn't stay at the hotel, but the Crosby Bar is a great place for cocktails. Extremely atmospheric lounge feel, high ceilings and chic decor, great craft and classic cocktails, and attentive service. Outdoor terrace looked inviting, though closed as we arrived (we were there after a later dinner).

I loved my stay at this hotel. The price is super expensive around 750-800 a night. Rooms are super nice, clean and comfortable. Of course luxurious as well. The room I got had a huge window huge plus for me love to see the city view in the morning and evening. Overall great hotel to stay in.

  • Salman Haji

Came here for high tea. Although pricey, the food served was really good and portions decent (you get one free refill of the sandwiches and scones so pace yourself). But the service was very mediocre. The waitress took our order and then only checked on us at the very end to give us our bill.

Was recommended by a friend to stay here. Was surprised at how cool it was when we arrived. Really great location to hit all the downtown neighborhoods. Awesome bar to have a drink at. Staff is extremely helpful. Rooms have floor to ceiling windows that make them feel uniquely New York.

Went there for Afternoon Tea on the terrace. It’s sunken therefore quiet space in Soho. Tea 5* but sandwiches were just edible. Scones were 3*. Go for ambiance and tea rather than food. Great option for a drink too.

Bar / lounge very chic, artsy. Both areas quite small, should be obvious but also very pricey. Bar list includes some unique handcrafted cocktails and they carry some hard to find spirits. Went for Friday after work and wasn’t too crowded. Staff very friendly and active.

So dated and over priced. Service is rude. Hosts think they are special because they work at this hotel. Their job isn’t to think their special but make the guest feel comfortable. Sad.
