I remember this cemetery from 30+ years ago when I went to Pasadena High. It was extremely run down and overgrown back in those days. Today it is a beautiful little cemetery, very well taken care of with historical information and seating at the entrance for reflection. Kudos to the sponsors and volunteers giving of their time to maintain it. Unfortunately there is a memorial inside of the cemetery commemorating the Mexican soldiers who died at the battle of San Jacinto. I find it perplexing that we, as Texans, would be honoring the memory of soldiers who visited unspeakable cruelty upon the defenders at Goliad and the Alamo. It just seems out of place given that bit of history and the fact that none of them are interred there.
If a cemetery could be considered "sweet", this is Crown Hill Cemetery. It is small, historical, clean, loved, well taken care of and completely by volunteers. This cemetery is love. I cant imagine many descendants are still around so that tells me complete strangers care for this tiny shadey spot smack in the middle of Passadena industry. A visit to this cemetery will be an investment in your time.
This historic cemetery is kept nice. I discovered some of my ancestors here thanks to the listing of names near the entrance. Many soldiers from wars are buried here also.
A very small and sweet place, surrounded by industry. I’m honored to have visited the veterans that rest here.
Lovely historic cemetery near Buffalo Bayou.
This place is really laidback.
