"This most recent visit will undoubtedly be our last"
Amazing people! Very kind. I had called two weeks in advance to going to see if they had an elevator and they have a freight. The man come in on his day off so we could get to the wine part in the lower floor and it was probably the best liquor store I've been to. But I wouldn't call it that. It seems like a dime a dozen word. They had sample wiskeys which was good and bad, not my kind of pallet and when it looked like I might heave they gave me water. Large amount of options, and well versed in what kinds of alcohol and how it tasted. The winer who came in on his day off to help us, was friendly and im pretty sure spoke in tounges (not really just giving locations and facts about the wine). Had an amazing time
The staff here is very helpful. They have an amazing selection. This was my second stop on my quest for whiskey in Indianapolis. My first stop was a bust: the people who ran the shop had no idea what they were selling and wanted me to Google different brands that they carried so I could find out information about their stock. Does this seem OK to you? It did not seem alright to me so I left and showed up at Crown. The staff there were able to answer all of my questions about what they had in stock and made some great recommendations. My only regret that I wasn’t able to return to the shop to spend more money. I am so glad I went in and did some shopping.
This store is large and I loved the merchandise setup... It was cool (summer) and inviting, && the staff was cordial (I wouldn't say friendly)... however the one item I went in for which is a lower end but in demand drink/beer (4Loco) I was told they do not carry At All. I'm quite sure (imo) it's a zoning/"area" thing but I'd think something popular would be in stock for sure. Also just to add I was Not carded. (I am well above 21yrs.) BUT I know FOR SURE I do Not look over 30 and SHOULD HAVE ABSOLUTELY BEEN CARDED -REGARDLESS. I Am and Look under 40yrs.. I still give them 4/5 although they dropped the ball on tht one important thing.
We were heading back to Chicago after Gen Con one year and wanted to pick up some craft beer, so we stopped here to do just that. They had beer, all right - and whiskey, wine and the whole shebang. Their craft brew selection is solid (I bought a bottle of Brasserie Dieu du Ciel's great Solstice D'hiver barleywine, among others, and it's not easy to find outside of Quebec) and if we weren't in such a hurry to get going I would've explored the wine selection downstairs a lot more. Definitely worth the side trip.
This most recent visit will undoubtedly be our last. The selection (beer and bourbon) is getting worse, and I’ve never consistently encountered so many rude employees. Tonight, while trying to locate and buy a rather expensive bourbon, the employee at the back counter wouldn’t get off his phone or give me more than rude, one word answers. He also never even looked up at me. This is not my first very poor experience here, but was willing to try again.
Wow. Incredible selection. I was hoping to score some Zombie Dust on our way across Indiana after having trouble finding any in Ohio. This place exceeded my expectations. I grabbed a case of FFF and two of the BCBS variations, which I'd also been struggling to find. I was also shocked to see tons of CBS on the shelves, which is pretty hard to come by in Denver. Lots of other beer I'd have loved to have grabbed if we only had more room in the car.
This is how a downtown liquor store should be. Two levels of the best liquors available. If you love wine, hit the lower level, you'll be intoxicated just checking out all of the selections that they have. The first level is for people who love beer, IPA's, you name it. I looked all over for 151 rum during the holidays. The only place I could find it was here. Don't listen to me, go see for yourself, you'll understand what I'm talking about.
I don't drink anymore but I must say that this place has a huge selection of various types of wine, beer, and hard alcohol. It's also one of the few liquor stores that's located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. I can't comment on the prices because I don't buy anything from here and have only been in here a handful of times when I was with a friend who needed to make a purchase.
Probably the worst service I’ve ever received from a legitimate business. I stopped by earlier to look around with my friend and returned to purchase something (alone) that evening. They not only refused to serve me but blatantly accused me of attempting to purchase alcohol for a minor. What the heck?! They were incredibly rude, offensive, and completely incorrect. Do not shop here.
Downtown Crown liquors is the only store you need. Great selection of beer, wine, and bourbon. They even hand select Four Roses bourbon exclusively for their chain! Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The store has free beer and wine tastings most Fridays and Saturdays. Make sure you go downstairs, that's where the tastings are! And the awesome wine cellar ;)
ZERO stars if I could! Two people who could care less if they were there or not to help their customers. Would not sell to us because my 52 year old friend did not bring her ID from the hotel? Even when I had mine and she offered to step out of the store so I could make a purchase. Horrible customer service!! Won't be back to Crown Liquors, neither should you.
Declined to serve us when we said we wanted to drink. Will never go here again. What sort of clientele are they expecting if they won't serve people who want to drink? They serve alcohol. Are you kidding me. You are the most hypocritical people who ever lived. You should be ashamed of your existence. You are all terrible and will never earn my business again.
The selection these guys have is vast, and they have a second floor wine cellar. Very helpful staff, who gave me really solid recommendations when I became a tad overwhelmed by the selection they have. As it is located downtown, finding street parking can be a bit of pain at times, and I didn't see a 20-min zone for quick in and outs.
False adverts. Okay he gps list them as being open until one which they aren’t. They also are about .1-2 miles farther away from their reported location than they are. Alcoholism is no one’s problem besides the user…. With the accepting of the own e of the establishment. Accurate information is important for any business to have.
The guy behind the counter was not helpful and seemed offended and upset that 10 women wanting alcohol came into the liquor store. Luckily there was another person working and he was very helpful. The one guy ruined our impression however. We were very friendly to him and he wouldn't give us more then 3 word answers at most!
Worst service I've ever seen in a liquor store. Some buck toothed hipster kid sitting behind the counter on his phone instead of running the register. Asked if they had an IPA, they said no, and after 2 minutes of looking I found it myself only to be mocked for drinking IPA. Last time I'll be going there
My favorite LQ! A vast array of beer and wine, plus top shelf liquors. 4 stars because the 2 people working were less than friendly or forthcoming with any info on specialty bourbons. I have encountered very friendly and knowledgeable folks at this location before, just not this time.
2nd time in the store and was ignored again. I understand keeping the liquor behind a counter given the location but if its not self serve you would think the staff would lookout for patrons needing help!! I hope corporate reads this and hires someone who knows how to serve customers.
This place had a very large selection of bourbon and scotches! Enjoyed spending our time browsing around. Throughout our visit, we weren't ever checked on to see if we needed help (it wasn't ever asked for, but any means of customer service before the checkout would've been nice).
As an economist, efficiency is the name of the game. In ten minutes I spent over $50 dollars on some local brews while passing through town. Staff was helpful and quick. Selection was top notch for local and regional. They even recommend a spot for lunch that was excellent.
The helpful folks at crown have everything. And if you buy too much to carry, and you're not parked too far away, they will schlep it to your car for you. They also use the delivery service drizzle if you are too impaired to actually get to the store.:-)
Lots of selection, from beer to wine to spirits - this place has it all. The staff is very helpful in assisting novices pick out the perfect alcohol for any occasion. They also stock Crooked Stave beer...which are pretty rare in these parts!
Huge Selections of Beers & Liquors; Specialty Craft Options, Occasionally We Will Host Tasting Events. (Look for our Events here for this location on Google Maps.) Great place to shop. +We deliver, too. ♿Wheelchair Accessibility.
If you're going to put all the bourbons behind the counter at a supposed high end store. Then at least teach the fat lump behind the counter to ask you if you need anything. If he was mentally handicapped then I apologize for this review.
Would give them zero stars if I could. They let my 14 y.o son come in the store with me, then refused to sell me beer because he didn't have an ID. Abrasive, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Will never do business with them again.
Nicest liquor store around, and the staff is amazing - always helpful and friendly. They welcome pets and always give my dog a warm welcome and a treat when I bring her in. She loves going to the liquor store as much as I do now.
Prices are reasonable, though occasionally on the higher end for some of the rarer brews. The selection is incredible though! Staff are friendly and helpful. Hours are great. Probably the best craft beer selection downtown.
These guys saved my bacon, my son wanted a bottle of 8 year old Lagavulan for his 21st birthday i live in Kokomo so you know it was as scarce as a liberal at a square dance...but they had a bottle of 16 year old ...awesome
Have always had very friendly customer service. I lived downtown for awhile and they would always allow me to bring my dogs in (and even have treats for them!). Great selection of wine and local beers as well.
Store seemed decent from the outside. Located downtown Indianapolis. But the absolute worst customer service and hands-down the most rude people I’ve ever experienced an any shops so far in this town....
Best customer service ever! Called to find out if restaurant next to them was open. They said they don't know, but called me back after they found out. Not all heros wear capes. Thank you guys so much!
If you shop here regularly there are some absolute whales that come through this store (beer and bourbon). Don't be afraid to leave empty handed after checking out what they've got for sale.
There's a magical ginger beard beer fairy with outstanding knowledge of ales that works there. I believe his name is Bobert. They have an extensive beer, wine and Bourbon selection.
Best craft beer selection I found near downtown Indianapolis. You cannot buy beer from grocery stores or gas stations in Indiana and no sales except on site consumption on Sundays.
Awful service for carry out. The staff refused to take an order over the phone. Placed an order online while literally standing outside and it took them 20 minutes to fulfill it.
Crown Liquors in Indianapolis has what you want if what you want is liquor. All joking aside, the staff was friendly, the selection was good, and the prices were fair.
If you can't find the wine that you want here, you are the problem . Their beer selection is EQUALLY impressive! Definitely in the top list of INDY bottle shops! …
It didn't have bars are and needed a bottle opener They were out of stock. It is conveniently located across from the city county building downtown Indianapolis.
Will and team are the most down to earth people you'll ever meet. Unpretentious, awesome dudes. Oh, I live in Boone county. Not an easy trek but well worth it.
I was looking for a new scotch/scottish ale similar to Robert the Bruce...and ended up looking for 30 min...at actual ales from scotland. Holy wow.
Upscale liquor store with a fantastic selection of wine and local beers. Prices are relatively lower than many other independent liquor stores.
Always a good place to stop and see what is available. Folks there are very knowledgeable. The selections are good even for the regular stuff.
Worth the two hour drive! Beer selection is awesome and everyone there is super helpful! Jack went above and beyond. See you all again soon!
Closed at 7:55 when they were supposed to close at 8. Knocked on the door and they would not let us in, said there was no time. Disgraceful
Best location downtown for craft beer. Including my favorite Indiana Brewery, Terre Haute Brewing Company. Very clean and organized store.
The gentleman behind the counter was INCREDIBLY helpful. The store had quite a selection of wonderful things. I will definitely be back!
Picked three bottles of wine for our Thanksgiving dinner. Great deals and awesome selection. Argentinian reds (2 Malbec & 1 Cab).
High quality liquor and wines. Bought a nice bottle of scotch and a Cakebread Sauvignon Blanc. People who work there are helpful.
Great drank even a shot got lighty great time I will be back like I need a refund but I only want more drank please and thank you
Stopped by here on a day trip and it was awesome, shout-out to Andy - he was a great help and just an all around solid dude.
I'm newer to the area, but this is the best liquor store I've been to in Indy so far. Huge selection, lots of good options.
Great selection, a fantastic wine cellar, and everyone is always friendly and helpful. Best liquor store in downtown Indy.
Best liquor store in Indianapolis. Great selection of beer, wine and liquor and fabulous, kind and courteous sales people
One of the best beer, wine, spirit selections in the city. Beer always has my heart. How I miss those tasting, tho...
Very friendly and cool staff... The clientele can be rowdy at times, but the cleanliness and environment is superb.
Great location. Right downtown which is typically very close to our hotel. Very large selection and friendly staff.
Amazing selection of wine from all over the world. The staff is consistently friendly and focused on the costumer.
No knowledge on wine, not even tried to help with 6 bottles I bought. It's a common liquor store, nothing more
Not a great selection and over priced. Staff had never heard of rye whiskey. A little training couldn't hurt.
A great assortment of spirits, wine, and ales. A nice gentleman named Bob helped me find just the right ales.
Had a bottle of cachaca (Brazilian spirit) I haven't seen in FIVE YEARS since begining a job in Indianapolis
Great selection of craft beer. Friendly and helpful staff helped me pick some good beer to bring back home.
I was looking for a particular craft beer and the staff went out of their way to help me. Always a delight.
Excellent selection. Staff could be friendlier. Easy in and out in the evening, tougher during the day.
A big collection of whiskey and bourbons, which happens to be my favorite. Friendly staff, all good
Didn't have Hennessy privilege but the staff was helpful finding something that was close to it.
My favorite downtown liquor store. Excellent selection of everything, especially beer and wine.
Good selection but don't like how all liquor is behind the counter. Makes it awkward to browse.
Helpful staff and a great selection. Make sure to check out the free wine tastings on Friday!
Just wish they would stock the little Don Julio white bottles otherwise s far no complaints
Great liquor establishment. Very nice salesman. Purchased peach flavored whiskey. Loved it!
It's a little pricey, (I normally buy my liquor from Meijer's) but otherwise no complaints.
Thank you for always having my cognac in stock even though it’s rare to find around here
Open on Thanksgiving. Great customer service friendly staff. Love them for all the help.
They're a great place to grab up liquor high quality or whatever your heart desires!
Great bourbon selection. Several custom barrels with unique options on the shelves.
Great selection of wine and booze. Pretty good selection of beer. Friendly staff!
They had oberon (out of season) and checked our IDs. Perfect for girls night!
If they don't have it, you won't find it anywhere else. Well worth the visit.
Awesome variety of products. Very nice staff. My go to when I'm in to town.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Great selection as well. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite places to go downtown for all your adult beverage needs
It's always a fun place to venture when I am in town. Amazing selections
Excellent selection of spirits, bourbons in particular! Helpful service.
They are always in stock with my favorites plus clerks are awesome!
Excellent selection of spirits. Clean store and staff was awesome.

Massive selection, clean store, super friendly and helpful staff.
Friendly staff and great location if you are in the downtown area

Great selection of wines downstairs. Friendly and helpful staff.
Neat looking liquor store downtown and the staff was very nice.
Great environment Great staff polite helpful smiling THANK U
Great variety of wine and cold beer and helpful employees.
They no longer carry my favorite beer, but good selection
Coolest people work here. Such wise knowledge of flavor.
Love them go in get what you want and they deliver
