Where does one start, I guess the beginning would be the right place. We picked up the 6 berth "Cruisin" van on Monday and thought, what have we gotten ourselves into? The RV is huge! The staff reassured us it will be more than adequate for the two weeks of travel we were about to start. We left the depot and headed out to our new adventure. The comfort-matic gearbox had me wanting a manual gearbox for the first 20ks after this I loved the silly thing. The van was top shelf. The cabin is comfortable and the two beds were just right. The bedding was perfect and no one went cold up on Mt Field the temperature dropped to -2. The van was flawless, we experienced so minor issue with the TV antenna which we called the service number and we were sent to a repair station. That was sorted and away we went again. The in dash GPS takes a little bit of time to work out but it does work. For some construction criticism the van should have a small fan heater as the roof air-conditioning stops n starts in the really cold nights and mornings. The other perhaps essential piece of equipment is to fit a reversing camera. These RV are huge and it can be a tad scary when reversing. After 1500ks in this vehicle I will miss it.

This is the first time that I have ever rented a motorhome and Cruisin Motorhomes in Tasmania did not disappoint me. Ali at reception was friendly and very pleasant. He gave us a fairly new motorhome that worked well for us. It had air conditioning and heating in the main cab and that meant we were kept very comfortable throughout our evenings at various campgrounds. The vehicle’s engine was strong and dependable, and it dealt with hilly roads well. It wasn’t all perfect, however, as the driver cab air conditioning did not work right from the start and the guys at Cruisin were unable to fix it during our journey. But they tried their best. Luckily the weather was not hot. By opening the windows the air was cool enough for us while driving, even in the towns we toured in Tasmania. When we returned the motorhome, the staff, especially Ahad, were apologetic about the aircon and gave us a small rebate on the rental of the vehicle. I’m going to rent from them again when I embark on my lap of Australia in a couple of months’ time. Can I recommend them? Definitely!

Do not hire from this company! Our motor home had so many problems during our journey. It leaked when it rained, all over our bed and clothes. The bathroom door flew open when driving which was a safety issue. It was old, had holes in flyscreens, the grey water didn't drain properly. I called each time when an issue happened and the roadside staff couldn't do anything. When I detailed all the issues to customer service on our return they offered us a $200 voucher to use with them!! I asked for that to be a cash refund and they simply ignored our emails. They admitted they replaced the vent which was leaking and fixed the door, but even though they admitted these things were faulty, still refused any compensation. The list of issues was massive, so I can't put them all here, but we definitely did not get what we paid for. I would not hire from this company. They will give you a substandard vehicle and then refuse to communicate with you when you try to discuss your concerns reasonably. I consider we were not given what we paid (and we paid a lot!!!).

Booked a van online direct with Cruisin, We hired it for 5 days. It was easy to drive and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, which was great after long days driving. Everything worked well in the van, we had some issues with the locking system but worked it out after a call to the roadside, I would suggest the locking system being explained at pick up, as our van didn't have remote locking, it was manual locking with the key. Only other issue was moving from back of the van to the front seat. There is a step up, and you have to duck down otherwise you hit your head on the sharp edge, which we did, my husband split his head open, with a gash, which was painful and still healing a week later. We suggested at drop off, that there be a warning ⚠️ On the area or some kind of padding. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed the van, and would definitely hire one again. It made our road trip so enjoyable.

I wasn't there to hire anything, but a glimpse "behind the scenes" they're a genuine family owned business. I used to sell cars, the Campers are awesome... yeah, I had an interview, but the business owner is genuine and will look after you as much as a business can. But I can tell you that even wholesale price dings or dents can cost a lot... so get the insurance, depending on your planned destinations and travel times, that google is perfect for when you're in a car. Not a camper. So don't think you can to Tasmania in 3 of 4 days, if you have already planned, you would definitely want to cover yourself. Because a good rule is to allow twice the travel time that you would anywhere on the mainland. I don't work for this company and I doubt I will. Regardless, I'll recommend them regardless

Good service, very friendly staff. The van was a Fiat Power which I enjoyed driving even if for me it was a first experience with a van of this size. A few small operating details to review such as the curtains which did not close well, the gray water pipe a little short but overall a good van. We will come back here to Tasmania and we will also come back to this company for a future rental.

Great van! Very comfortable for driving, sleeping and cooking. Very good service too. Had no issue throughout the trip. We had absolutely amazing first trip in Tasmania! Would have been better if there’s more detailed guidance in the beginning but the user manual is good enough. Will definitely come back again!

I booked through a 3rd party (backpacker deals), but upon arriving at Cruisin,’ they charged me more than the booking price and refused to refund me. They refused to work with backpacker deals to fix this, even though they have an agreement with them. I wouldn’t recommend booking with Cruisin’ to anybody.

Great experience hiring a small motor home for a week around Tassie. Pickup was easy, the vehicle was in great condition and drop off was quick as well, even though there was a minor damage caused by an incident. Max cover is a great option and really helped make this a hassle free package.

Van was as advertised with no issues over the week I had it . First time hiring a van and was great for my trip. The hi top bed was just a little short for me and I’m 5’10 so anyone taller than that might need to consider the next larger option. Staff friendly and helpful.

  • Linda Burman

Loved our experience with the 2 berth Sandpiper! Drove very well and extremely comfortable. We did a 'Hurricane Tour' around Tassie for 7 days. Easy to cook and clean. Staff are nice and helpful. We would like to grab a bigger one next time and take the kids.

We had a great time traveling around Tasmania for nearly three weeks in this camper. Great staff to help us to get started and once we dropped it off. A headlight that stopped working on route was quickly sorted over the phone for us to be

We just finished a five night trip in the Tamar 2 berth. It was the best introduction to a campervan holiday and we thoroughly enjoyed driving around Tasmania. We both felt comfortable and safe and taken care of by staff at either end.

Brilliant way to see Tassie. Cruising were really good to deal with. Quick and efficient. They waited after hours on a Sunday for us as our plane was delayed. Recommend Cruisin .. would come here first next time.

  • Jordon Macquet

Not bad overall, though service could see some improvement during pick-up and drop-off with notable wait times. On the bright side, the hired van exceeded expectations—reliable performance and well-equipped.

  • Madison Schultz

Definitely do not bother hiring one of these due to the absolutely pitiful customer service we received (or maybe I should say, total lack of service). Complete rip off and made our trip a real nightmare!!
