June 18, 2021 Crystal Clear Painting to the Rescue! I hired Crystal Clear Painting after the handyman I hired completely botched the paint job I hired him to do. Don came in and assessed the situation, and said it was one of the worst paint jobs he had ever seen in his 44 years in the business. He explained what my previous handyman had done wrong, and what it would take to get my home not only back to normal, but painted to perfection. And they gave me the best price that I had received so far! The very next day a crew showed up to start preparing my home - Alex was the main masking guy and he was incredibly meticulous! They taped every outlet, door hinge, light, mirror, countertop, window, fixture, lock, and every single piece of hardware in my home - their attention to detail was unbelievable. They covered my flooring so that they would not track any outside debris inside, and to protect it from the paint. The next day, another crew showed up and painted my home! Every single square inch - the ceilings, the crown molding, the wainscoting, the baseboards, closets, cabinets, doors, even my banisters and railings - EVERYTHING! The night and day difference between hiring a professional painter vs my usual handyman was unbelievable! They were on-time, quick, thorough, extremely detail oriented, professional, knowledgeable, and completely cleaned up after they were finished. Lastly, the price I paid was the price I was originally quoted, there was no pressure to upsell anything, absolutely everything was included in the original bid that we agreed upon from the beginning! I can't remember the last time that ever happened! To say that Crystal Clear Painting was professional is an understatement, they definitely under-promised and over-delivered! I could not be happier! I would give Crystal Clear 10 stars if I could. Don and his crew have the experience and knowledge to do any job. Finding a company that takes pride in their work is hard to find these days. I bought an existing home and realized after the family moved out that the home was in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. Don gave me a bid and started the next day! His crew members are kind and courteous and you can tell they love their work and love their boss. There was damage to the walls, wallpaper to remove and a lot of patching. Don even pulled crew from another job to speed mine up because I was on a time schedule. And the results were absolutely amazing. I have never seen a more beautiful job of painting. Honestly, it was perfect. He made suggestions and we ended up painting the rock fireplace as well. Don was right there working with his crew to make sure everything ran smoothly and that the job was done to his satisfaction and high standard. I cannot say enough about this company. I even told Don he was an answer to prayers. I would recommend Crystal Clear Painting in a heartbeat as I know you will not be disappointed. In fact, it will be one of the best decisions you will ever make.

I highly recommend Crystal Clear painting! This is the second job they have done for us, and we have always been very happy with several things. For one they are professional. They responded quickly to questions. The pricing was fair and the quality of work was top notch. We were very impressed with their employees. Shay does the billing and scheduling and she was fantastic to work with. Don gave us our estimate and showed up Day 1 of painting to orient the guys working on our home. He also came to make sure the job looked good and that we were happy. On top of that they repaired trim work for us and needed 5 more gallons of paint than estimated for our house but still honored our original estimate price regardless. Don even gave us tips on what flowers to plant that would grow nice on our yard and compliment our new home color. Kent and his crew were some of the hardest workers I’ve seen. They never stopped hustling around and were perfectionists. I really don’t believe it could get any better than that combo! I wanted to write this review for anyone who may be on the fence- I wouldn’t hesitate to use this company for your next painting project.

Don and his painters were nice and helpful at first, but the job was done very badly. Brand new outlets and switches were painted over, a few areas still had the old paint showing through, overspray on many surfaces, etc. They even used a lower grade flat paint on the bedroom walls that washed off when I tried to clean a smudge - contract said satin latex throughout, and painted a linoleum floor in a closet. He sent a guy (his son) back to touch it up, but he did another terrible job and didn't fix most of the issues. When I let Don know, he was incredibly rude, called me a liar, and told me I was just "a woman who likes to talk a lot" and asked why my husband wasn't speaking up (I'm the one who hired you Don). He tried to tell me I should pay him $50 to come back and do the job I had already paid to have done. In the end, to be fair, he did grudgingly offer to come back and fix it himself, but at that point my tenants had already moved in and I didn't want Don on my property. I would not recommend them to anyone and their motto of "getting it done right the first time" is completely inaccurate in my experience.

We’d hired a young man to paint our house interior, but the job turned out to be too big for him. In a crunch for time to get it done, we made appointments to get three estimates from professionals. The first showed up with a frown on his face and a whole lot of negativity and took days longer to get back with us than he’d promised. The second painter didn’t show up at all, and he didn’t even call. The third was Crystal Clear Painting. The freeway was congested that day and Don was going to be a few minutes late, but he called to let us know. On the front porch, we were greeted by a smiling, friendly man who turned out to be positive and upbeat and even offered good advice. His estimate came in on time, and it was fair. He made us feel confident he could finish the job in a timely manner and that we’d be happy with the finished product. After what we’d been through, Crystal Clear felt like an Oasis in the desert to us. Don came through with everything he’d promised with no hidden or surprise costs, and we loved the results. Plus, he and his crew were awesome. I’d definitely hire him again.

I am super happy that we decided to use Crystal Clear for our paint remodel needs! Don was prompt and came out for an estimate within 2 hours of me reaching out for a quote! Charlie came out and started prepping the walls and also started rolling the ceilings! He really did an excellent job getting the house ready for the paint team(not to mention how good he did on the ceilings) to come in and knock the rest, out of the park! Kent fixed the ceiling patch that was damaged by water and really did an amazing job! Chris and Ben seriously never stopped working and did everything that was asked of them, which helped the work keep running smoothly! Mario was a master with a paint brush and knocked out the kitchen and bedrooms before I could even blink! Last but not least, Don is mesmerizing to watch work. He was cutting in lines between the ceiling and walls and it was like watching a SO SATISFYING painting video on the interwebs! Truly amazing and I couldn't be more pleased with the end result! Don and team refurbished my railings. They turned out beautifully! They were respectful to always clean up after they were done for the day. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars (perfect rating), is because he told us he would bring a touch up kit by, for when we needed it later. Well, a week after they finished my banisters, the carpet installers banged the heck out of my newly refurbished banisters. I called Don several times, left messages to see if he would drop off the touch up kit, as I needed it due to the damage left by the carpet people. Gave him a month to return calls, or drop off the touch up kit. Don did not follow up as promised, and no touch up kit was ever brought to the home. It may not seem like a big deal, but one more thing we had to do, in the middle of a big home remodel. The follow up is just as important as the initial business... my husband had to go to Sherwin and try and match the paint ect. up with the colors they used.

We hired Crystal Clear to do the exterior of a home and garage in Sugarhouse. They gave me a detailed and fair bid. The house looked like it had been a long time since it had been painted and the wood trim was pretty warn out and never fixed the right way. Don suggested he could cut it out and replace it with a new cross section, which was a little complicated do to the old moldings. I was a little skeptical but it worked great. We were also unsure what color scheme to use on the paint but he guided us with what would work and helped us pick colors. They took their time but did an excellent job! Every concern was addressed properly and timely. Charlie was great and went out of his way to make sure that things looked perfect. Even when the porch color didn't look right, it wasn't a problem and they changed it. They were very easy to work with and I would use them again.

When it comes time to paint your house, everyone wants the best. You take pride in your home and want it to stand out in the neighborhood. Mine now does just that. Crystal Clear Painting is far and away the best choice you can make to get your house painted. Kent did an absolutely amazing job on my house. From start to finish he and the company stepped up, said what they were going to do, and did exactly that. The house is now the best looking house in the neighborhood. If you are looking for someone to paint your house, stop looking. Crystal Clear is the way to go. My experience with Don was solid!!!. He was very personal, and super helpful sharing his vision and giving me some great ideas for our new home. I know Don has over 30+ years experience in his profession, and the work him, and his team did showed just that. I truly enjoyed his teams company and the job they did. Any little issues i may have had such as touch ups, or clean up they were on it. I was impressed by the touch up kit they left with me and advice they had given to me as well. I have already reccomended Crystal clear to a few friends and will continue to do so leaving a great impression on my family and I. Don and his crew painted the interior of our home 100 year old home. Due to the old age of the home, the walls has lots of wallpaper and horrid paint jobs over the years. He fixed all the walls and painted everything. (Which is super tricky due to the walls not being made of sheetrock.) He did a great job and was very helpful on helping us choose the interior colors. We are so happy with his work that we hired him to do our exterior too. We loved the way it has turned out. We love it and all our neighbors love it too. The new paint job really highlights the architecture and craftsmanship of our old house. We love our home! Thank you for the wonderful service and paint job, you did an outstanding job!

I apologize to Don Darling for not writing this review back in December of 2019. I'm the President of the Canyon Crest Condominiums and worked very closely with Don and his crew as the building project manager. We have strict rules regarding how contractors can work in our building, they adhered to all of them and still performed their work in a timely manner. I highly recommend Don and his crew for the great team that they are and the high quality of workmanship they gave us. We had no complaints from anyone here, if fact some people didn't realize we were having the building painted because they were so great and mindful of not getting in the way of anyone living here.

Wonderful experience working with the whole Crystal Clear Painting Co. They were recommended by my interior designer, Susannah Holmberg and we couldn't have been happier. The quality is great, and their sensitivity to working in our home during Covid was ideal. Quality control is key for this team. The owner, Don, was on site several times to check in on us and his foreman, Mario is a very skilled painter and easy-going craftsmen to have in your home. Painting is never perfect and any imperfections I pointed out where quickly fixed with a great attitude. I've used lots of painters but I've found my new first call.

I had Crystal Clear paint roughly 60% of my home's interior (including kitchen cabinets and built-in living room cabinets) and couldn't be happier with the result. Don was very professional and friendly, and showed up occasionally to check out certain issues and make sure everything was on track. Our painter, Mario, did very precise work and was a pleasure to be around. He was at our house every day for almost a month and was so kind to us and our 3-year-old (who totally wanted to be his best friend)! I am so glad we went with Crystal Clear and I would recommend them to anyone!

DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! Hired initially to do the exterior of my office which was a great job so upon renovating my rental property, I knew I could trust Crystal Clear to do the job. Don has quite the eye for aesthetics and knows exactly what shades will look best. I got the whole interior done including cabinets and it is flawless. They also took it beyond paint and did flooring, dry wall and some other general contracting. They worked overtime to get everything done and for sure went the extra mile. I will be hiring them for the home exterior this spring.

Crystal Clear painting recently completed an extensive renovation of the exterior of our condo building. They repaired stucco, sealed all doors and windows, sealed all of the balconies, our pool decking, and the roof of our parking garage. They painted the exterior of the building and all railings and fences. This company is amazing, and a joy to work with! Don and Mario go above and beyond, and pay attention to every detail. They are honest, professional, and fast! We are so thankful to them for the beautiful job they did!

Just save yourself the time and hassle. Don’t do it! We had to take this phony to court. I have had a much better success at hiring honest contractors by word of mouth than trusting these screwed ratings that are totally rigged my negative ratings for this guy just gets removed. (Yep that’s how it works folks) I will get on here every now and then and write a new one. If you are reading this before my review gets taken off count yourself one of the lucky ones. Worst contractor we’ve ever hired!

Mario did a phenomenal job executing our vision. He was extremely thorough, took pride in his work and most definitely went the extra mile providing excellent customer service. We hired Crystal Clear partially because they were bonded and insured, then Don subcontracted the work without our knowledge to an uninsured and unbonded guy. This guy is now showing claiming he has not been paid. Don claims he is paid. The sub is threatening to put a lien on my house. Can he do that? I don't know. What a mess I am left with.

Don just painted the exterior of my house and it turned out beyond my wildest expectations. He was he fastest, cleanest, and most approachable contractor. Called and made an appointment with these people. After being an hour past the time we scheduled, I finally got a returned call to let me know they couldn't come and would have to charge me to come to my home... for a quote. Should rethink customer service before telling people they can do something they can't.

Don Darling and his crew did an outstanding job. My first time going through a renovation like this and they were easy to talk to, extremely approachable and all around genuinely nice people to work with. Stood up on 3 separate occasions from this company (should have moved on after the first no show). So disappointed. I was really looking forward to having them paint because I’ve heard nothing but good about their price and their work. Guess their customer service needs some help.

Have not done business with them, but someone driving a well marked company truck last week was driving very aggressively. They approached a number of cars stopped at a red light at a high rate of speed, cutting me off and several other vehicles.
