I’m saddened to write this review, but it must be said. I’ve been using Curt’s to service my cars (they’ve worked on 3 cars I’ve owed either previously or currently) for 3 years. When I found this business, I recently relocated to AZ and looking for a good reputable repair shop that I could trust. I thought Curt’s was that place, however I’m starting to see how unreasonable their prices are. This past visit (which will be my last), I had scheduled an appointment because I recently purchased a “new” used vehicle and I wanted an inspection completed. I also wanted a quote for 2 aux ports replacements (both were damaged). I received the link to my vehicle via text when they were done with the inspection that I always got in the past and received a follow-up call from Ethan. We went over what they found, minor things to consider for the most part except one. When I asked how much the 2 aux replacements would be, he quoted $1100 plus dollars (I believe he said $1160). I was quite surprised but I just decided to leave it alone. We went over the other inspection items found and I asked for them to fill my power steering fluid and replace the air filter and he said that will be $300. When I asked him to breakdown the charges, he said the inspection of the vehicle alone was $130 (when every time I had my cars inspected before It was $30), he said because it was a “new car inspection” and everything said was inspected is typically inspected with my other visits. Not to mention, air filters are about $15-20, power steering fluid is about the same too. Neither require extensive work or located in a hard to reach places. I declined all services and he said he found a coupon online and the inspection would only cost $75 now. Honestly, I was upset but I wasn’t going to dwell on it. When I researched the process to get my 2 aux ports replaced, that’s when I knew something was very wrong. I went to the manufacturers website, found the cost for 2 new aux ports parts were $108 total. Then I researched how the repair was done. I thought to myself, “surely that’s why they quoted me $1100, it must be a pain to do”. No, it’s not. The process can be done in 10 minutes for each, it’s not complex at all. Which a technician at the dealership confirmed when I called. I have never been one that claimed to be car savvy, but I knew the quoted price Curt’s gave me was unreasonable. I felt taken advantage of. However, this process has helped me realize that some of these things, with proper research, I can do myself. So for that, I am thankful.

Second time I brought a vehicle to Curt's Auto service. The first time it was a check engine light on an older sonota. After $300 and a replacement wiring connection to the fuel.injection system I was told the car was ready to go. The light was back on by the time I drove it home(less than a mile from the shop). I called and was told to bring it back and they would figure out what to replace next. I found out on the internet that 2 sensors commenly cause this problem and $30 on eBay and an hour in my garage and the light was off and car was running good. Last week my GMC Yukon broke down 2 blocks from Curt's. I had it towed there against my better judgement. I knew it was a failed fuel pump as I have replaced 3 since I have owed it. I dropped bit off at 10:30 am and waited all day to hear back. Nothing by 11 am the next day when I called them. I was told it would be a couple hours to know the status. I was finally called back at almost 4pm. The day before when I told them I was 95 percent sure my fuel pump died I asked Ethan the service advisor what they generally cost to replace. He said 800 to 1500, and I told him that was ridiculous. Sure enough when he called it was a fuel pump and he said that was 650, plus some axle work, 370, replace fan belt 128, radiator hoses 155, and the real insult was my one of two license plate bulbs was burned out, 27 dollars to replace that. Total almost 1600. I said well just do the fuel pump for 650 and he then says with tax and stuff $745. I did I'll just come get it, like I never should have left it. I called Sun Devil and they towed it for free, quoted 2 hours labor for the fuel pump and had it done the same day. $560 for the whole job, and $60 more for a new fuel filter installed. The only thing that will really hurt at Curt's is you wallet. Don't waste your time going here, they care very little about anything but making a lot of money, and they do that at your expense of time and your . I still had to pay them $113 to tell me what I already knew about my fuel pump and the add on jacked up repairs they were trying to get. I replaced the light bulb for $3.00.

Excellent team of professionals. My company is in Orlando FL and I was looking to purchase a 2000 Ford Expedition in Phoenix AZ as a work truck. I selected Curt's Auto Repair to perform a pre-purchase inspection based on a recommendation from another shop in Phoenix as well as the reviews on Google. The Curt's employee, Ethan, was always friendly and helpful each time I called the shop. The customer service rep, Phil, was as informative and accommodating as a concierge. They diagnosed the issues with the vehicle and provided estimates for each repair. I decided to buy the vehicle and have Curt's perform the services. Since I was driving the vehicle back to Florida I had to trust these guys to get me back home without a problem. I am happy to say the truck ran like new the entire 4500 miles I drove in 7 days. The only item they missed was a bad wheel alignment and tire rotation that I had to have done on the road. When I received a courtesy call from Phil at Curt's to make sure I was happy with the service I mentioned the wheel alignment issue. He asked me to send over the receipt for the work and mailed me a check for $144.56 to cover the cost! These guys are almost too good to be true. I am so satisfied with the high level of service from the team at Curt's I would move there just so I could have my vehicles maintained by their shop. As far as I am concerned Curt's Auto Repair is a 5 Star vendor for anyone that is need of top notch repairs and customer service both locally and to the traveler in need.

I really wanted to give Curt's 5 of 5 stars. I had a fabulous mechanic that retired this year and was looking for a new one. Curt's was easy to get an appointment and as a first time customer they did an initial overall (25 point inspection) just so they would know my car (at no charge!) They did find/fix the issue I brought my vehicle in for and their charges were reasonable. The only ding in an otherwise perfect experience was waiting to hear my car was done. I took it in on a thursday and they said they'd need it until Friday (no problem) I called them late Friday to get status and they said their was an issue with a part and would need it until Monday. No issues on that but I shouldn't have to call them. They should have let me know right away if there was a part issue especially over a weekend. Monday came and still no phone call until after 5:00 (they close at 5:00) so I was thinking I wouldn't get my car that day either. I guess I was spoiled by my former mechanic who would call you as soon as the car was done so you could make arrangements to pick up before 5:00. I would definitely recommend Curt's and would go there again,, I would just be specific on my expectations of being notified.

I went to Curt's Auto Repair as a new customer because of the 4.4 star Google rating. I don't know how it got this rating based on how I was treated and the incompetence of the staff. I can only assume the Google ratings are embellished or fabricated. I dropped off my Dodge Dakota because it was losing power while driving. I asked Curt's Auto to look at it and let me know what is wrong with the truck. The service advisor told me they would run diagnostics on the truck for $186. They would send me a text containing a full report of their findings and a service advisor would reach out to discuss findings and next steps. Three days passed and I did not hear a thing and did not receive any report via text. I called to check in and was told they could not find anything wrong with the truck. When I asked if the truck needed any work, I was told "based on mileage" it needs a "tune-up". I was very clear the truck is driven only 2,000 miles per year and to not base service on the mileage of the truck (which was ignored). If you are a new customer, don't go to Curt's Auto Repair. You will be treated poorly and the staff is incompetent.

Honest people doing great work. You could pay less elsewhere, but you will absolutely get what you pay for. Low quality work, low quality parts and people that don't really give a darn about you. Curt's offers fast friendly service by highly ethical people, doing the best work, with the highest quality parts. What more could you want. I will gladly pay a small premium to know the work was done right and will be completed correctly, on time and will last. Heck they called me two days after the repair to make sure everything was working correctly and I was satisfied with the work they did... what other car repair shop does that ??? Great people doing excellent work, you can't go wrong taking your vehicle here Give them your business maybe they will become a chain and revolutionize the car repair industry with ethics, high quality parts and impeccable workmanship .

After receiving conflicting and inconsistent "things that are wrong" from the national chain auto shop I've been using for the past few years, I took it in to Curt's for a second opinion. So glad I did! Not only were they able to debunk all but one previously identified issue, their thorough inspection process found several other items of concern as well as the routine maintenance that was never addressed at the chain shop. They sent me the inspection report and then followed up via phone to make sure I understood what should be done now versus what can wait a bit and took care of what I authorized immediately. I now have peace of mind that my vehicle is in top condition and no worries about camping and road trips. Definitely recommend to anyone who needs an honest mechanic and quality work.

Amazing! I was referred to Curt's Auto Repair by a co-worker when she learned that I needed my brakes worked on. This was a must! When I arrived I was greeted by Ethan. Who was very friendly and made me feel right at home. Although, I was a walk-in, he tried to fit me in that day. But I had to make an appointment to come back. On my appointment day, Ethan was there waiting for me with a smile. Not only was he friendly, but the whole crew was friendly. Well, to make a long story short, my brakes was in very bad shape and the mechanics there knew just what to do and came back with an estimates in no time. Not only was that for the brakes but for an oil change and a few other items they had noticed. I was well taken care of. I was quoted a good price for a job well done. I will be back.

I took my VW in last week after my alternater light came on along with other concerning issues (not to mention a well needed oil change). Ive always brought my car here for service and knew I would be well taken care of. Without an appointment and such short notice they took my car in and provided me diagnostic reports, accurate costs, and communication all with full transparency. Because my car requires such exclusive parts it cost me a pretty penny however it was all worth it. With Curt's I had peace of mind like every other visit and my car is back in good shape. Additionally, they were there to offer condolences this week with the passing of my sister. Everyone there strives to provide excellent customer service and (for me) invites you to be a friend. This is my auto shop.

Family owned and operated. Extremely friendly and fun staff. Honest, which is hard to find these days. There was a hiccup at the end of the day with my vehicle, one part decided not to work properly but I was taken care of well beyond what any other shop would do in my situation. To top off the cake they brought me a pastry to my home the other day in appreciation of my business. It is very rare for any business these days to be honest and straight forward as Curt's was. A buddy recommended them as well my roommate said they were a great shop, and it truly showed that day and even after our business was concluded.... I seriously hope that your potential customers read this and decide to bring you their business as well. I sincerely hope you continue to win awards....

There is no better feeling than trust! When you know that you will be treated fairly and honestly, you know you have found a home for your truck. We brought our truck to Curt's after having our truck at the dealership for over a week. The dealership could not find the problem and still charged us for the diagnostic. We were also out the cost of a rental. Curt's had to spend over $900 in software to help them identify the problem. They solved the issue and we are very grateful. Due to the cost of the software they did not make a profit from our repair. However, they only seemed concerned with our satisfaction. We will only be taking our cars to them in the future. I've used Curt's a number of times over the past 10 years or so for different vehicles. They always do a quality repair...but they have become excessively expensive and unreliable. The last repair which should have been done in one or two days took four days and was $300 over quote. The next job was standard preventative maintenance - a timing belt and water pump kit - so I was able to shop around and compare. Curt's estimate was over $500 higher than the shop I used and that included my choice of a higher quality parts manufacturer. Beware Curt's mark up on parts. They have no shame. Nathan tried to charge me $125 for a $10 seal plus labor. Caveat Emptor - Buyer Beware

Our whole family takes our vehicles to Curt's. We've been doing so for several years now and we always get great service. When the driver's side window in my car broke in the down position recently I called Curt's. When I told them that we have no garage and no way to prevent someone from just walking up our driveway and hopping in the car, they got our vehicle in immediately and had the window fixed that day. Plus they drove me home so I wouldn't have to sit at the shop all day. And when we happened to run into one of their staff at the grocery store a week later, he immediately remembered us! Top notch service and quality repairs every time!

My old boss recommended this place to me, she had said she lives in buckeye and drives all the way here because she trusts them. I referred my sister here before I went for the first time, I went for the first time last week and had a good experience. I knew I needed new tires soon and they just started selling tires also so that was convenient since The car was already there for other repairs. They dropped off some baked goods a couple days ago to thank me for my business. Seems they try to go the extra mile for their customers. Oh also I had got there before they officially opened but a nice older man let me in to drop off my keys.

Car battery died on my 2007 bug. They didn't have any openings but told me to drive it over anyway. They tested it and confirmed battery dead. Quoited me $200+ for it and they can fit me in same day. Ended up getting done quick before closing, and was actually cheaper than the estimate. Because of the way the bug's wiring is all attached over top of the battery, I wouldn't have wanted to change that myself anyway, so I feel it was worth it. I had previously taken my 2007 Prius there and to fix the steering rack they had quoited me far over $2k, which I declined on. And didn't go ahead with that procedure.

I’ve taken many of my vehicles to Curt’s over several years now and always been treated fairly. I love the fact that sometimes, my issue can be repaired with minimal work and at a very low cost. Of course that’s not always possible, but the team at Curt’s always discuss my options with me in advance and I’ve been satisfied with their work every time I need them. Ethan at the front counter has been there a long time and he always keeps me informed on the progress, and the repair technicians consistently do great work under the hood. I’ll continue to use them and I recommend their facility to anyone.

Went in by appointment for a 1/2 hour job and after 2 hours I wandered back in and they were nearly done. They at that point said they could not do the work because another part was worn out and I understand that but they wanted $750 to do that repair and that would only take an hour and a 1/2 for a mechanic. What kind of shop hourly charge do they take.?They also charge me for a full inspection that I did not ask forI got out of there and I will definitely get my money back from my credit card company. I notice they read reviews so feel free to contact me I think you know who I am from yesterday.

I don't like to use repair shops and Curt's Auto Repair is the definition of why. Had a noise I couldn't identify. Quickly and properly diagnosed as a front wheel bearing. I quickly looked up the part on Amazon for $155. When I was given the estimate, using the same Timken bearing, the price was $400. I understand some mark up, but nearly 150 percent seems a bit much. Needed it fixed so I agreed to let them do the job, but I most likely will never be back. Screw me once shame on you, screw me twice, I don't think so. As for the staff, yep they're friendly, polite, and professional.

Ethan , Anna , Johnathan ,Erick and the whole crew are fantastic. They have done alot of repairs on all 3 of my vehicles including putting a new remaned motor in my mustang . I can't say enough great things about this shop . There is a reason this shop won the BBB ethics award . You bring it there and its done right the first time . This is my go to shop for everything for the past 4 years and it will be for a long time to come . Its a family owned and operated business that takes great pride in its service you will never be disappointed with them .

After a minor incident involving my teenage driver and a curb, I had to bring the car back in. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. They helped me get to see my kid up in college by getting it fixed in the same week. Frequently updated me (a big deal for me after a horrible past experience at another shop). Helped determine what could be done later to keep costs down. Called to check in on how it was running after I got it back. I can't stress how great the people and the work are here. It's the only place I will go to now. Complete trust.

I brought my car to have the transmission oil replaced. The staff is very friendly, every single one of them. I waited in the little waiting room while my car was being serviced and practically the entire time I was laughing with the staff. Their BBB rating of A+ is definitely representative of who they are. This is definitely a business you can trust, a business who can show you through all their hard work why they are trustworthy. To top it off, they delivered me a full size coffee cake straight to my door as a thank you for being a customer.

I've been to Curt's a few times. Once for an oil check and a few for my ac repair. They were great each time. They operate a friendly business. Complementary shuttle home if you live relatively close. Cold water and soda for the wait. It's possible there are cheaper places to get work done, but i felt like i got quality work done for the right price. I will be going to them first in the future. Though just like the doctor's office. The less you see of them the better. Am I right?!

This place was able to fix a problem that none of the other shops i called, could do. I was very impressed with the friendly staff and their ability to do a very detailed job. Their prices were a little higher than most shops but it was worth every penny to know they use the best factory parts (not generic) and actually have well trained, experienced and certified mechanics. I'll pay a little more to know my vehicle is in good hands and the job will be done right.

Took my truck in for the front end to be checked out. It’s unfortunate that the companies prices are out of control expensive. I had just replaced my front bearings one year ago and they told me it needed new bearings for $800 area. Wholesale cost on bearings and seals are lower than $60. They wanted $2000 for upper and lower control arm bushings. That price is more than double what it should cost. I picked up my truck and paid their diagnosis fee.

I've been taking my cars here for as long as I've lived in the north valley, just like my parents before me. All around good shop. They don't try to confuse you, or sell you anything you don't need. They will lay out in plain English what's wrong with your car, what they recommend and then let you tell them what you want done. I've never really had any surprise costs or add ons, their estimates are pretty spot on.

Who says you can’t find reliable car repair anymore? Look no further! Curt’s is a reliable, honest, and experienced place to take your car. They will be honest with the price and how long it will take to fix it. They are about 25 miles from my home, but I would not take my car anywhere else. My husband and I have been using them for over 15 years. Like their sign says: ” If your car hurts, take it to Curts!”

I highly reccomend Curt's Auto Repair, I have been there enough to know they will not take advantage of you, and they get the issues with your vehicle taken care of right. The first time I used them I was given a bouquet of flowers to thank me brought personally by his wife. Please try them and you will not want to take your vehicle anywhere else.

I was not impressed with this business what so ever. You can do WAY better than this shop. I made a terrible mistake going here. Dont waste your money here. They took advantage of me. Never to get my business again. Told me the most expensive option, sold me what was not needed and wasnt sure what the problem was so quoted me the most expensive.

Less that 5K miles ago Curt's replaced a crankshaft seal to fix a minor oil leak. Now they want to charge $1500+ to do the same repair. It's a rip off. Crankshaft seals, if repaired right, last 50K - 60K miles minimum and often last 100K miles or more. Far more than 5K. When asked, they would NOT back up their work. I'll never use them again.

We got our Kia Sorrento 2005 fixed there, it wouldn't start, got it towed there on recommendation. They fixed it quick and we were very happy with the service and we will go there again and recommend to others. They were honest and straightforward and professional. We also got the Entenmanns Coffee Cake afterwards, a nice surprise! Thanks!

Curt's Auto Repair is the only place I will take my vehicle. The entire staff is professional and courteous, and they have always gotten my car in as soon as possible. My family has always brought our cars to Curt's ever since we moved to Phoenix in 2004. They are the best in the valley, they wont try to sell you stuff you dont need and always stand behind their work. Highly recommended. If you just need an oil change or need major work done on your vehicle they got you covered.

They wanted to charge me $500 for a part that cost me $17 on eBay. My rear hatch wouldn't unlock or open and when I asked about the door locks they automatically quoted me $1,000 to fix the door locks $500 for just the part to open up the hatch. Glad I didn't have them do it cuz it only took me 2 minutes at home.

I came to Curt's about 3 years ago after a less than satisfactory experience at a dealership service department. I have been coming here ever since. They are very nice people, do good work and are honest. I always feel my car is in good hands at Curt's and that I will be dealt with respectfully and honestly.

Nevermore, Nevermind. Service is lovely & proudly boasts about their well-earned BBB ethics rating. After promptly diagnosing the problem, Curt's wants $1,250 to replace an $80 water pump in my '08 Buick Enclave. That is far too rich. My reaction is a mix of surprise, disgust with a sprinkle of heartbreak.

Took 2 days to get an estimate, & the price was outrageous. Dropped the car off Monday afternoon & didn't get it back until Thursday afternoon. Had to pay $145 for the estimate, & it really didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. I'm sure they do good work, but they are pricy. A wasted week.

I am a travel nurse and had to have a transmission cable replaced. The staff was exceptionally courteous and was able to fix it that day. I have since been back there twice to have work done on my trucks. They even offered to give me a ride back to the RV park. This a great family owned business.

I call them and ask how much they charge for aligment, They say first we have to do inspection it cost 60$ to make sure if its aligment than 140 for aligment. This place are crazy. I'm not stupid, I'll never take my car to that shop. Stay away from them.
