Nice cinema with character, albeit seating a little squashed and can get very hot when full. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. However, I think it’s dreadful that they sell packets of popcorn not boxes (even though the Kingston branch does). My two most recent experiences were ruined by people eating and rustling their packets and unwrapping sweets so loudly for the first 40mins meant I was unable to concentrate or hear the film. People apparently talk through all the trailers now too which is no fault of the cinema. I don’t know where cinema etiquette has gone these days but it’s made worse by not even the cinema helping customers to be respectful of others.

Curzon is a small independent cinema. The emphasis here is on small but do not let that put you off from going. The seats are sufficient in terms of leg room (I'm 6 foot with long legs so like room) the screen is a good size and the sound is also good. The ticket office is again small but being a small cinema they don't tend to have massive queues and sell tickets at both the office and bar. Yes, I said bar... They serve alcohol which you can take into the screening, you can take food in as well. Definitely a good experience and more intimate than at the major chains.

Saw love actually lottery movie here and although it's a nice cinema, the staff member at the food counter was pretty rude. After my order I asked if it was 1 coke or 2 in the order and she said that she didn't know and what did I want. Quite strange. The mulled wine was really really bad, at 6.50 each x2. It wasn't hot, lacked any real alcohol. More like mulled juice. Despite this, cinema itself was good, sound could be louder, but service and mulled wine needs a rethink..

Nested on a quiet lane towards Richmond Riverside, this branch of the Curzon chain offers comfortable chairs and good sound system, quality films and the opportunity to watch them with a glass of champagne or wine. It gets sold out quickly over the weekends. Book in advance. Don't be put off by the screening being sold out. Give them a call as many members get free tickets with their membership but sometimes don't turn up. Enjoy the performance as much as we always do.

Absolutely favourite cinema in London. Feels like a return the 20's! Tiny and quaint but with a perfect size screen and classic red curtains. Film showings are all incredibly interesting and far from mainstream. The front room reminds me of an old train station. Staff are super friendly and enthusiastic demonstrating their passion for film. Nice drink and snack options. All all around delight! Memberships worth considering as they make frequent visits very reasonable!

It's a small cinema which specialises in screening films that in the main aren't shown by the major chains: European, "art house", foreign language, for example. It's comfortable, properly raked so you can see the full screen, there's a small bar and you can take drinks in, and best of all the audience doesn't chatter and in nearly 30 years of going here (back to the time when it was the Richmond Filmhouse) I've never heard a mobile phone ring!

A small, arts house, theatre. Think of a 1930s cinema scaled down to a fifth scale. The auditorium holds around 200. It's a quirky place. You can buy a ticket and a glass of wine to take into the auditorium with you at the two counters on the lobby area. The single screen is a top class digital theatre quality. Locals love it. It's not too far from Richmond tube and mainline station so it could be a different venue for an evening out.

A really nice spacious cinema. Staff were very friendly. Only downside is compared to other cinemas this is quite expensive so will think twice before returning. Update Nov 2022. Had a similar experience during this visit. On this occasion I used the ladies toilet and was very surprised how ill fitted and dated it was. Compared to the cinema and other common areas this was not a pleasant experience.

  • Helene Hambrook

Love everything about it: the design, the comfy seating, the size of the auditorium, the small cosy lobby, the bar which sells wine AND coffee which you can take in. Friendly informed & helpful staff. So pleased I took out membership which has loads of fab offers and last night a friend came to see The Shape of Water with me and it didn't cost a p!

Saw a good film at the Curzon. The seats were comfy with lots of leg room and we had a good view. The only thing I would say is it would be good to have popcorn that is made on site. I was expecting it to be overpriced because it’s a cinema but it was overpriced and the same stuff you buy in a supermarket which is just disappointing.

  • Simon Mitchell

The cinema may look great although I never got the chance to experience it as when I turned up for the screening, I was told the film I wanted to see was on next week. The member of staff was not aware of this and told me that he didn't know what the poster said was the opening date. Not impressed Unfortunately I cannot give no stars

  • S & N Maclaurin

Wow. First time here and what a lovely, cozy little cinema. Massive congratulations to the audience who were the best I've ever experienced watching a film at a cinema. Nobody talking incessantly, no phones out, no sweets/crisps permanently scrunching. Just brilliant and will definitely go back here. Oh and the staff were lovely!

  • Byron Young

Great local cinema with a single screen that shows both popular mainstream films and offbeat fare. It has a bar too and personally love a glass of the amber nectar while plunging into the latest celluloid offering. Discount offers for members and the place is never unpleasantly full, which can be the case at the nearby Odeon.

  • Kurt Ainsalu

One tiny screen, average seats, people with bags of crisps and you call that an art house cinema? The only difference between Curzon Richmond and your average Odeon Cinema is a fact that you can bring a glass of fine into the cinema and you pay £5 extra for the privilege! Not impressed and not going back.

  • dianykno

This is a tiny cinema with only one screen and short selection of films. The listings are really good films, usually independent. Satf is really lovely and they have good coffee and cakes to bring inside. Feel very Covid Safe with all wearing masks and seats being sanitised after every function.

  • thomas everett

Interesting - prebooked tickets to see The Force Awakens - just two of us - Row E - nobody else in the cinema - just as the film was about to start two more people came in and sat directly in front of us in row D - Richmond - wealthy people in the main - some obviously fascinatingly thick ...

  • John Lechner

As always a relaxing and enjoyable visit to Curzon Richmond. All staff members were friendly, helpful and efficient. Entryway/forecourt area clean and tidy, as arethe theatre and facilities. Quite as off the main street, so quiet and welcome departure from the 'mega cinema' experience.

  • Gerald Mccarthy

A small friendly cinema. Well patronised when we went. We had a good view of the screen and the sound was clear and at a comfortable volume. Comfortable seating. Clean toilets. There is a bar serving refreshments and drinks. It's expensive, but we thought it was well worth it.

  • Kevin OSSOLA

I would not advise this place. Not sure which public is targeted by this cinema but considering the price, food, lack of maintenance of the seats and the size of the screen / audiovisual quality... No one deserves to pay that much for such a poor experience.

  • Lily Rose

What a treat. This beautiful little cinema is tucked away on Water Lane between the High Street and riverside. The staff are always so courteous and make the entire experience feel like an absolute luxury from the lovely ambience to the comfy seats.

  • Mya Bailey

Woman with the reddish hair was one of the rudest people I've met. Seemed annoyed I had come in to book a ticket? Then refused to book me in with my company card (which allows me complimentary tickets), disregarding the fact I came in with

  • Ashton Thomas

This is certainly the most pleasant cinema in the area. We saw No Time To Die here, and it definitely added to the experience being able to order a Martini at the bar and watch a Bond film drinking that instead of a bucket of fizzy drink.

  • London Lady

Lovely little cinema right by the river. I will always come here to see the NT Live productions (if I haven't left it too late and they've sold out...) The customer service and overall experience is well worth the ticket price.

  • paul chance

Only one screen but the ticket still had screen 1 written on the ticket, givin the impression of other screens... staff member didn't seem to agree lol ..cinema bit hard to find. But pleasantly different from other theatres.

  • Angela Combe

Very interesting lttle cinema. Showing unusual, artistic and foreign films together with more main stream recent releases. It could to with a bit of an upgrade - the seating is a little tired with nowhere to put ones drink.

  • David Beeston

Friendly , cheerful and hospitable staff , even though I am not a Curzon " member", which made the atmosphere relaxed - especially as I was, on this instance, seeing a film on my own. Small scale and easy to get around .

  • Dominic Ferry

Not exactly a modern cinema, but what it lacks in amenities it makes up for in charm, and it also offers real drinks at the bar. We went there because they had a screening with an intro from one of the main actors.

  • Cameron Smither

Cozy cinema. Seating is comfortable but could use some refurbishment for presentation. Very helpfully, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Sound was at a great volume. Temperature inside the cinema was nice and warm.

  • Andy Munton

Confronted by a rude and argumentative team member on reception. The next day, I rang to complain and my opinion was shared by the duty manager who apparently had seen the incident. Offered a deal on my next visit.

  • C P

I love the Curzon chain but this is their poorest venue by far. The seats have always been uncomfortable and the sound is simply not up to the standards elsewhere. Nice staff and location but badly needs an update

  • Kathryn Boyd

Comfy seats, proper drinks and overall great experience. Toilets are either side of the screen so you don't have to leave and come back I either. Clear route in and out of the building to stop groups mixing

  • Hugh Burden

Good seats, good leg room, nice snacks but a little but uncomfortable to wait in small foyer. Nice intimate cinema by beware the ancient ex public school ladies with over bearing voices. Nice staff.

  • Cathy Aicardi

A lovely, small cinema and Curzon always delivers a high quality service. Staff friendly and relaxed with a well stocked bar. Seats are comfortable and film offerings are as varied as the schedule!

  • Karen B

I visited here in October 2022. This is a small single screen cinema tucked away down a side street leading to the river in Richmond. It is quite wide with doors to the toilets in the auditorium.

  • Jaye

Cozy and intimate little cinema. I would choose here over Odeon in Richmond. I find it somewhat awkward that the toilets are located at the front of the cinema though, underneath the film screen.

  • Ian Crockford

Always a pleasure to visit. Great Fathers day Top Gun showing! And so grateful for the staff for going out of their way to look for my son's lost EarPods. Great service. Thank you.

  • Maureen Stewart

Exactly what small cinema should be. I'm happy waiting for a drink from busy friendly staff, the seats are comfortable. It's a sweet place, fair price especially given location.

  • David Frew

Nice little cinema in central Richmond. It's licenced, so you can take drinks in with you. Seems to be free seating, so you want to arrive promptly if it's a busy performance.

  • James Prichard (jayprich)

Cute smallish cinema showing art films with nice staff. Seats are comfy but don't have spaces for drinks. Screen and sound quality was very good. Row D a perfect distance.

  • David Garcia

Good choice of thoughtful films. Friendly atmosphere. Comfortable seating. Other customers are interested in film and do not need huge buckets of noisy popcorn.

  • adam little

Nice, comfortable seats. It was packed out but everybody managed except for the two ladies behind us, who were quite rude to someone trying to reach their seat.

  • Magdalena Szczygielska

Lovely local cinema with a great choice of independent films, amazing coffee and a big selection of drinks and snacks. Very helpful and well informed staff. <3

  • Billy Fitzpatrick

You’ll be hard pushed to find a more charming and welcoming cinema in Greater London. Love everything about it here, always looking forward to returning!

  • Richard Merritt

A lovely grown up cinema, where you can take a drink into the cinema and know you're not going to have people talking or texting all the way through.

  • Geraldine McMahon

Lovely little jewel of a cinema tucked off the centre of Richmond. Very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely visit again in the near future.

  • Joss MacLeod

Loved it. Comfortable and homely (if your home is home to an enormous family with the space to spare!). Small (for a cinema) but perfectly formed.

  • Valda Bruno

Love this cinema. Just the right proportions - large screen, comfy seats. Feel wrapped in cosy escapist bubble. And they do not sell popcorn!

  • Dan Herron

A bit cold inside, not a great selection of snacks, and rather expensive tickets (£33 for two) for a middling experience in a small cinema.

  • Ben Howell

Great service and a comfortable venue. Best cinema in Richmond, if this is showing your film don't go to the Odeon...come here instead.

  • Mickey Mouse

Me and my fam go here all the time it's great though a tiny bit pricey but becoming members is great value and I'd definetly recommend

  • Joan R

Lovely cinema, comfy seats and friendly staff. Also, it shows unusual films that are shunned by the multiplexes - so thanks for that.

  • Christopher Krage

People generally don't talk during the films here, which is not the case at other cinemas like the Odeon.
