I had an amazing experience at DJay's Restaurant! The Superman pizza was a true delight. The crust thickness was just perfect, striking a balance between not too thick and not too thin. The pizza sauce was incredible, with a unique flavor that's hard to describe but absolutely delicious – apparently, it's a secret family recipe. The meat on the Superman pizza was fresh and flavorful, sourced from Winnipeg old country sausage, which is top-notch quality. They also use New Bothwell cheese, known for its legendary quality. The combination of these high-quality ingredients created one of the most delicious pizzas I've ever had! I even enjoyed some leftover pizza with my morning coffee because I couldn't resist its taste. Kudos to DJay's for delivering such a fantastic culinary experience. I must also commend our hostess/server, Julia, who was not only accommodating but also cheerful and helpful in assisting our dinner guests with their selections. Her suggestion of 1/2 mushroom fusion and 1/2 Hawaiian pizza for one of our indecisive guests was spot on. Thank you, DJay's, for delivering sheer quality and taste!

Cesar Salad, My Favorite Pizza in the World

So this was my first time going to DJ's. Which I have to say was quite disappointing. Ordered a #1 pizza which was $28.99 for a 15 inch large pizza. It was pepperoni mushroom and salami. I will say ive had much better tasting pizza at Little Ceasers for $5. This pizza had a very bland nothing type of flavour. And it was all canned ingredients. Canned mushrooms and the pizza sauce was so runny and was so excessive that the pizza fell apart. And to top it off it was almost like the pizza was originally a small that they extended the crust into a large because the pizza slices fell in half in a perfect ring inside the ring. To be honest we would have left the half of the pizza we didnt eat (as I shared this with my family). But we spent so much in it we figured we may be able to save it at hkme with some modifications. Needless to say my family wont be eating there again. On a side note. If you want anything on this menu your looking at a $16 minimum. And thats including the salads and appetizers.

4 PM fairly slow service but the worst part was the meal. Burger patty tasted like a previously frozen sponge, pickle was spoiled, onion rings clearly burnt yet still served, chicken burger tasteless, bun hard as pavement. What happened to this previously amazing restaurant? Did the owners sell, pass away? Whatever is going on it’s hard to believe how upside down it has gotten. Lots of alcohol was being served in the primarily senior occupied lounge so perhaps all they care about is the bottom line. Zero compensation offered, prices consistent with increases of late but beware onion rings for fries substitution is a $6 up charge. Overall simply not acceptable. Service too slow to even think about having food redone…with these many strikes you don’t get another chance. Sorry

Went for lunch,was seated quickly as it was not busy. Maybe 10 people there. We were given our menus and 10 minutes later the waitress showed up to ask if we wanted anything to drink,we ordered drinks and meal at same time as we had plenty of time to find what we wanted. Food showed up,was not hot only warm. She never did come around to ask if the food was o.k. and if we wanted any more drinks. Sat for 15 minutes then she showed up, i asked for the bill. Wad $36.00,put down $40.00 and ledt. Wish i had change then i would have left the exact amount with no tip. I tip according to service and food. Both were nothing special. Good chance i wont be back.

Uh... service was good no complaints there however the sauce on the pizza was grossssssss! Tasted like bbq sauce that was take no out of the garbage. I didn’t wanna say anything at the time cuz i didnt properly read the menu so I thought maybe I ordered something not knowing it was servered with bbq but apparently that’s just the regular sauce! The pizza was very overpriced for what you get. I ordered two 12" pizzas one garden and one beef and mushroom. The total was $50.00 for pickup and no tip The disappointment began when I got home and cracked open the boxes. I asked for fresh mushrooms and while I got them on one pizza the other had canned mushrooms. There were very little toppings, very little cheese and very little sauce. The flavor was decent but it lacked way too much especially for the price. Very disappointed as I had heard good things and it's supposed to be a local favorite. I won't order from here again. Save your hard earned money and order somewhere else

Received our meals today and the driver almost forgot to give us 1 dinner till I asked and it was still in his bag,the last 3 orders we got all had something missing, first time chicken dinner came minus fries in the box,the second time they forgot the caesar salads,tonight's came with no buns,needless to say someone is not doing their job,we have been long time customers but when the quantity of food you get in the restaurant is different from delivery it is time to try somewhere else so we will not be ordering take out or dining in any more,the customer satisfaction is just not there anymore.

I am a huge believer in customer service and my experience tonight was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The server could not be bothered with our table the entire time, we arrived at 6pm and did not leave the restaurant until 9pm. We waited on menus for an hour alone. Not to mention an 18% gratuity on each of our bills that was automatically added. Between our whole table, I think we made more of an effort seeking service than actually receiving it. I absolutely understand gratuity policies, but they should reflect good service. Not acceptable at all, I will not be coming back here.

I am a essential driver during our rough times thru covid 19. I ordered a lasagna and a ice tea.. With delivery it came to $32. It took over a hour and a half to get it then it was ice cold.... The delivery driver goes.... Sorry .... I got stuck in the snow.... No discount . or anything... I watched him for over 10 minutes driving around the parking lot before he called me to see where i was parked at.... Even after i told them where i was parked at... They still managed to screw it up..... For this reason.... 1 star .... If i could of gave them a half a star.... I would of......

Went on a recommendation for dinner while travelling. Service was great as many have said, and domestic beer was well priced at $4.50 a bottle. Had the No. 1 pizza and as many reviews said the sauce here is different. I thought it was cream in the sauce as it is slightly pink and has a sweet taste, but some others think it is a roux. Either way it's not a traditional tomato sauce for the pizza. I didn't care for it, but I know many people who like it (mostly people that grew up in Winnipeg eating it). Overall an unassuming joint with some TVs for sports and some grub.

Ex-Winnipegger, but I always eat here whenever I come home. We used to go here as our reward for good report cards when I was young, and here I am 30 years later begging my parents to sneak a large #1 and a large #2 in their luggage when they fly to Kentucky to see me... Pizza is the best I have ever had. Ever. I dream about it and crave it every day, and I wonder why my friends in Winnipeg don't go there every day. Super thin crust, cinnamon or something in the sauce, finely crushed peppers to shake over it.... and I'm embarrassed at how much I can put away.

Not a fan, did take out our first time here and hopefully the dine in experiqnce is better but I most likely won't return had poutine and fries were under cooked, ordered a pizza and salad instead, the pizza was good but it's different than pizza I've had in past not sure if it's the sauce or what. I wouldn't recommend the ceaser salad they don't put dressing on side for take out so it was a little soggy by the time we got home and the flavour of the dressing was off, I've heard good things about this place but I didn't have the same experience.

Not very good, prices are outrageous for the quality. Got a burger that tasted like it came from Antarctica 10 years ago. Bun was stale, no flavour. The fries were ok, nothing special. Service was mediocre at best. French onion soup also flavourless. Total bill was $80 for 2 French onion soup, A quesadilla, and a burger. There are far better options for an 80 dollar meal. Pass on this place if you’re debating it .

Absolutely the worst place I’ve been to in the four years I’ve lived in Winnipeg. Server was terrible, couldn’t get our drink order correct, didn’t bring glasses for our beverages, even after I repeatedly asked for glasses I had to go to the bar to request them from the manager!! The food was just ok, we were a party of seven on a Wednesday evening, literally only five other customers in the place. The burgers were over cooked, some of the appetizer were cold. Do yourself a favour and go down the road.. nothing worth writing home about...

To say it’s a family favourite is an understatement. Everyone on my dads side as well as my moms side absolutely love it. Their pizza is unlike any pizza you’ve had in the best of ways. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for good quality, great taste, local and family run and operated. What’s not to love. The whole menu is a 10/10

The service was great. Our server was so friendly and attentive. We were there for a birthday and she made it special for us. My burger was great and so delicious...my Caesar salad was way over garlic and lacked acid but I was told it is usually very good here so maybe an off nice. Me and my wife went on the new patio after I picked her up from work..we were hungary and thirsty and excited to be there.....There was only 1 other couple on the patio......We left after 30 min......I had to go inside to buy the drinks.......menu's were givin after 20 min but never were able to order....Safeway was across the street.......It was quite embarrassing........Is this a place to go to eat?.....Can you please just say if you tell us if your understaffed......Its ok.i understand but please telluss.

Service was very good! Very good! But the pizza is sweet and unpleasant. You also can't substitute toppings, even in the event of allergies and they charge $5 for any additional topping. So if you say "no onions, it's an allergy, can I have green pepper instead" be prepared to pay an additional $5. It is not a customer first type of experience. Pizza is also cut weird, be careful or you might wear half. All in all I really really can't recommend this place. In spite of the amazing service that we received!

It's a family style sports bar ish restaurant. Low key. There's a dining area, a group area and a bar area. The washrooms are near the kitchen. The soft drinks didn't taste right, so stuck to water. The homemade pizza was fine. There's lots of parking, (it has a small parking lot and a massive shared parking lot) and it's close to activate, which is why we came.

Food was good. Came with a group of 15. Gratuity was 18% per person, which was fine because I usually tip 15% but on top of that there was a service charge of the same amount. I paid almost $17 without the cost of my food and tax and all I had was soup and a pizza!! There is such a thing as making up for lost time because of Covid-19 shut downs but........ I will not be returning. That is ridiculous. Make sure you check your bill before paying.

The full rib option came with soup and bread - I was full by the time main course came. My partner had parmesan chicken, which was really tasty as well. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Overall it was a phenomenal experience - we'll definitely come for the pizza next!

First time there. Had a very nice burger combo. I ate it all gone. Many in our party had pizza, everyone seemed to enjoy there meal. Service was not strong, 4 people in our party asked for a couple minutes to review the drink menu and were never asked about drinks again. Pricey but it's an institution in the neighbourhood and very conservative so it's probably resting on it's past and not trying too hard.

I had takeout. Onion soup was $10,50 for barely maybe 6 oz. Wings tasted of breading very bland. I ordered salt and pepper wings. Caesar salad is supposed to be great but just ok

This is a great family run Winnipeg business. Staff is always friendly and I have always loved what I’ve had off the menu. Atmosphere is very old school with dimmed lighting which makes you feel like you’re in a different decade and can be quite a romantic date spot. This is my favourite pizza place in the city. A little more expensive than chains but skip one pizza week and have this instead.

We were told this pizza is wonderful. We were disappointed!! While the crust was delicious, the toppings were minimal, and they put CANNED mushrooms on. Advertised fresh....they were not. I say not worth the money. Bacon was thin sliced very dry back bacon. So not worth it.

Inside the dining room had a 70s vibe, which I found had a nice reminiscent feel. The booths were well maintained and the whole place was very clean. The bathrooms by the kitchen are very small but there are more near the lounge wich are larger and have changing tables for babies. Service was good and the food was very enjoyable. I would go again.

Ichabods (lounge side) is our own little neighborhood "cheers". Same regulars always come back, especially for hockey and football games. We drink, cheer, eat, drink some more, and everyone has a great time. The pizza is fantastic and features change every week and are also delicious. Anyone who tries it once is sure to come back to join the fun.

Loved it in the summer on the patio - appetizers and such very tasty and worthwhile. As a pizza restaurant? Just tried their pizza last night and it was not very good at all. Sauce had an odd consistency and wasn’t good tasting. Crust was lame. Etc. I’d say pizza at some other places is 100% better! (Such as Papa John’s, Domino’s, Gondola, etc.)

My family and I eat djays religiously every week for my whole life . Great food . Djays food basically makes up for 15% of everything I have ever eaten and im fine and cant even recall a stomach ache or anything. Everything tastes great . They don't put it on the menu unless its great . All around good darn restaurant. The bar is very nice too

I personally think the food was delicious, and very filling. The service was really great, she was really sweet and kind. The bill wasn't too hefty either! For two dinner orders, an appetizer and three drinks it was only 105 dollars. Since the whole experience was great we decided to tip our waitress 20 dollars! Will be returning for sure! ❤

Everything was great, except I did not have any control over the gratuity when the pin pad came to us after the meal. The server chose the percentage herself, and for that, I feel resentful and wary to return.

We tried to eat here. went to the restaurant and no one greeted us , then went over to the lounge and sat down for about 10 minutes. There were only a handful (3)of tables that were there. The waitress attended to both the other tables but did not come to take our drink order or food order. So we left. Would not repeat.

Best once around the kitchen pizza! Live in Calgary and have this every time we are in Winnipeg. Very unique pizza.

Highly recommended! I have visited the lounge many times and the service has been excellent. It feels like 'Cheers' in that friendly, comfortable, and accepting atmosphere. It is a cozy place and the pizza is unbelievable. (#10 is recommended). A great place to bring the team, colleagues, or friends.

Ordered 2 mediums, fairly expensive at 55.00 dollars. Pizza was terrible, bottom of crust was done very well, where as crust just under toppings was still raw dough. Also they use canned mushrooms, totally unacceptable for a 25 dollar pizza. I gave 2 stars as the ladies working there are super nice.

1st stop at D Jay's..we thought it was great. Food was everything the server said. Thanks to Natessa for supplying great service and advice. We will be back! We had the No.6 -15" pizza, classic burger. Fabulous french fries....as all food was served quickly, hot and prepared right on...thanks!

It was a nice place and nice service, but very dissapointed with the food and its a bit pricey. Beers were cheap which was good , too bad for a first time visit

Went to DJs for a work dinner. The service was amazing. The server was prompt and friendly. The food was very good. Half the table ate the specialty pizzas, I had the herbed chicken, and someone had the veal parmesan. It was a fun time had by all, would definitely dine here again.

Nachos are to die for! We also got wings with the sauce on the side, they were so good I didn't even touch the sauce. Lounge has tons of TVs so you could see the game no matter where you were sitting. Highly recommend if you love pub food. Next time I will try the restaurant side.

Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Parking is horrible. The food is above average. I had Buffalo wings, and my wife had a pizza. We will be going back.

Use to be a great place, but in the last year went down hill fast. Food is all tasteless and overpriced. Staff is too busy talking to each other to notice you and TV is always just a little too loud when showing things no one is watching. Manager is also extremely rude.

Overpriced, underwhelming, unprofessional. This is truly not a place I’d suggest spending your money. The owner treats people poorly and doesn’t care that he produces near inedible food. It’s a big city, and there are far, far better restaurants with genuine owners.

We LOVE djays pizza and caesar salad. Pizza was top notch as usual on Monday night when we picked up, but Caesar lacked the usual unique garlicky taste. Very bland I hope if recipe was changed they go back to original. Been going there over 40 years!

Great food, wide selection of food from Italian dishes to a nice big rack of ribs. Always good service and the atmosphere is nice. Restaurant has unbelievably great hours (open till 2am some night, gosh) and the prices for food are very reasonable.

Waiter was very nice but the pizza was not my cup of tea. They don't put on tomato sauce but instead some kind of brown sweet sauce.

Best pizza of my life. Everytime I come back to visit Winnipeg, this restaurant is a staple. Pizza is perfect everytime. That sauce can not be replicated, it is sooo tastey. I just wish that it was not so expensive to purchase.

Went for happy hour and enjoyed some local, cold beer on tap in the lounge. Lounge is cozy but has been adequate during the times I have visited, always between 4 and 6pm. Surprised by a delicious potato soup on my last visit.

Delicious food. My only complaint is that the alfredo sauce is a bit too watery, and it's not worth the $5 to add the shrimp on top as at most you only get 5 small pieces. The pizza, ribs, and burgers are phenomenal though!

This place has possibility. The problem is the service. It is so slow. If you want to be left alone at the table for 15 minutes at a time, this is the place for you. If you want to order another round of drinks, good luck.

Had a BLT and Hangover fries. Sandwich was great, the Hangover poutine was out of this world. The gravy has a rich flavour which enhances the mixture of the back bacon, green onions, and fried egg; it was heavenly.

Pizza was excellent. Service was second to none. Very comfortable atmosphere. The free popcorn is what attracts my girlfriend here. A very good wine selection. Love coming here even though it is a 30 minute drive.

This place is a hidden gem, the food was great, we've been returning for the last few weeks to try other parts of the menu. They've consistently aced the service and the food. The drinks from the bar are awesome.

Been going there for over 40 years and still such amazing pizza. Dennis Johnson was always such a class act and Rob and family have maintained that tradition. Definitely a St.James staple in the community.

Great local establishment. Neighborhood gem. Great steak! Service was a bit slow, unnecessarily. I think they were friends with the slightly larger table in the other room. Overall a great experience.

By far my favorite pizza EVER. This is an experience everyone needs to have. Incredible thin cryst and sauce like you've never tasted. If you haven't been, trust me and just go now!

Just finished dinner with my wife. We both really enjoy this place. Food is exquisite. Super friendly staff. Nice comfy atmosphere. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food and service were great. I had the salmon and my husband had a steak. Both were cooked to perfection and food was hot when we got it. Would definitely go back.

Pizza was awesome. Steak sandwich was cooked to perfection! Wait staff very friendly. Recommended by staff at motel down the street. Did not regret coming at all.

Great pizza. We have lots of friends in the pizza business but when at home they are too far away: this in the neighbourhood spot makes the best pizza in Westwood

Good shimp. Didn't judge me for ordering large amounts of shimp. Didn't try anything else but shimp and shimp Alfredo, but those were good. Staff was friendly.

Flatbreads were amazing servers/ bartenders were friendly and offered recommendations. 10/10 will be back

Serving size of the mozzarella sticks was a little small, but they were very good. All the food I tried was at least decent. I enjoyed my time there.

Great staff, quiet perfect place to go for a solid meal. Their Chicken Ceaser Salad is delicious, top sirloin was cooked perfect 5 stars.

Best pizza in the city. Come from the opposite side of town 5-6 times a year just for their pizza. Great service. Great value.
