"I love this family owned business"
Just popped in to buy milk 10 minutes ago. I got the milk home and poured some into my tea only to find bits floating on top. The milk was dated until next week but when i smelled it, it didn't smell good. I jut popped back over and explained this to the lady owner, she smelled it too and tells me "no this is fine it's what it should smell like". I kindly explained that no milk shouldn't smell like this, so she poured a little out and said see it's fine. I kept telling her it wasn't but she flat out refused and said it was fine and she wasn't going to let me swap it even though I had only bought it 5 minutes before. So now I have a gallon of bad milk and I am $6 poorer. I was a frequent shopper here but with customer service like that I won't be heading back. Absolute disgrace you should be ashamed of yourselves!!
i cannot wait for them to reopen!! a lovely family with an excellent selection of imported foods, at incredibly reasonable prices. delicious bakery items- the individual apple pies are freaking outstanding! (warm it up and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream- you’ll be glad you did!) i work across the street from danial market, and have lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years- let’s just say that my initial panic when seeing the market closed down was replaced with relief upon realizing they were renovating!!!)
I have also had a bad milk experience from this place. Might be that the coolers aren't set right considering the dates said the milk was ok. What has been the last straw in me going here is the middle aged guy who works here. Anytime I've gone in he makes increasingly inappropriate and bold comments about my appearance. These don't happen when I'm with my boyfriend so he knows that limit but I no longer feel safe going there alone since the comments are now a regular thing.
I live very near to this market and I’m happy that they are finally open again since they are the closest place I have for quick shopping! The renovations have been great and the interior is a lot brighter and clean looking. One thing to know about this place is that the price for produce changes very quickly so don’t be too disappointed if what you’re looking for is expensive, because the price will probably change for your next visit.
I love this family owned business. I love idly chatting with the folks at the til and how kind each and every one of them are. I avoid shopping anywhere else. It's quirky in a comforting way. And Ialways find my produce bill is 10-15 cheaper when I shop there for my staples than Kin's just a couple blocks away. On the day I move out of the West End, this shop will be among the first things I miss.
Small family run spot that I would have liked to provide more stars, but the places isn’t the cleanest and service wasn’t the friendliest either. By no means was the older lady behind the counter hostile, but I also didn’t think she was friendly. They do carry some specialty items though that you can’t find at a typical grocery store, such as hominy (Mexican food staple).
Great spot for a variety of brands and foods not available from other grocery stores. Our favorite is the Rummo brand of pasta and lebanese flatbread. They also have a lot of core ingredients like fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs as well as dairy. The owner is friendly and happy to answer questions and make recommendations.
A great little local shop that deserves our business. Throughout these trying times, they have been open and well stocked. It is an eclectic collection of dry goods, always a good choice of fresh vegetables, and an assortment of freshly baked sweets you should avoid if you don't have a lot of self control ! :)
this is such a homey, friendly place. This is very much your local bodega. I love all the unique treats you can pick up here. I've tried a few things I've never seen before and found a bunch of new favourite candies and stuff. EXCELLENT local cream sodas/soft drink selection! Pick a weird one next time you go!
Such a horrible people. He charged me extra for kiwis that I never bought!! And later he denied to accept! Theif!! He was so rude.. and his son was so rude and he movked us for our accent and he didn't apologized just said I'm tired!! Never go there again.
Never buy anything from this place!! They have modified their scale to make everything weight double. Just went home and scaled everything I bought, they charged me 1lb for less than 1/2 lb of cheese! And they never give you a detailed receipt.
I used to love this place... but maybe they changed owners... level customer service way down. The main guy who works days either open up late or too busy on phone to ring customer orders in!!! Based on his arrogance he must be the owner
This is THE spot. Owned and operated by a wonderful family, it offers not only a great variety of products at affordable prices but also features goodies from a French bakery a couple of times a month. Also, samosas are $2.50.
Friendly staff but store needs updating and a solid cleaning. I haven't had any food issues but I usually only buy a can of pop and chips. Slow service on occasion but it's a family owned corner store, what do you expect?
Family owned business. Danial is super knowledgeable and will happily chitchat with you. Their stock is top notch, great variety. Prices are either right at wholesale price or often cheaper. No reason not to shop here.
Fantastic market! All of their products are top quality and very well priced. People are very polite and friendly. They also have some homemade snacks, I always get a Jamaican patty. They're delicious.
A small family owned grocery store that has a good selection of product including fresh produce. I shop at this store 3 times a week and find that the service is always friendly and the staff helpful.
We drive into town most weekends and this is one of our favorite stops. Friendly service, fresh fruit (a goto for ginger!), tasty imported foods. It's just fun to browse and see what we find.
This is a local gem. I can’t wait for it to reopen, it has great stock, lots of fresh local produce, and perfect snack options. I can’t wait for it to reopen after renovations
Owner really knows his products well. Great selections of olive oils, vinegar, olives, fresh cheeses, fresh baked goods, dry goods and produce at great prices.
Great little store ! Staff/owner are very friendly and helpful. They have an amazing range of products at a very good price. The baked goods are to die for
I went to change my lottery ticket ( I won't 20 dlls and extra ticket) and the man only gave me the extra ticket and didn't give me20 dllr back.
Lovely grocery store in the west end neighborhood with delicious fruit and some other convenient things. It opens until late for any emergency!
the new store is beautiful and full of the amazing import foods the store is famous for. bakery items are so good too. happy y’all are back.
BAD customers service, DIRTY place, and the guy charged me EXTRA MONEY! I didn’t know till I got home. It was my first time and last time...
Love this little corner shop!! Perfect addition to the neighbourhood. They have tons of specialty items, yummy samosas and baked goods.
My favourite place for great local produce! Friendly staff, great selection, and perfect West End location. Five stars!
Such a nice people and so convenient having them around. Mostly I go there because of how welcoming they are :)
21 Jump Street had a scene in front of this store back in 1989. Still looks exactly the same on the outside.
Bulk tomatillos & jalapenos, bottled aguas frescas AND good baklava?? This is the corner store of my dreams.
Great find in the West End. Their baklava is awesome and they have a great selection of dates, sauces etc.
Please, add the description of what you sell! Name, ingredients and the price would be nice to know!
Super clean and lovely, great renovation! It’s awesome to have a neighborhood shop like this.
Most friendly family owners, fair prices, clean and well stocked for a lot of necessities too
Very friendly staff and cheap groceries. They have a wide selection of interesting products!
cheap groceries & I always get super ripe fruit for free! the staff is super friendly!
Great community market with prices that often beat the larger grocery stores
Extremely reasonable pricing and great staff, always chatty and friendly.
A very cool and convenient grocery store! Enjoy shopping there a lot!
Best samosas i’ve ever had
