Horrible service and lack of consideration. I paid this guy, Serge everything in advance before coming to DRC. I paid him $35 each way from airport to hotel plus $189 for boat trip on Congo River. When I arrived he picked me up in the car without air conditioning and it was too hot. When he dropped me at the hotel he asked me to lend him $20 because he has issue with his bank card. I tried to be nice and gave it to him. He said he would give me back in two days during our boat trip. When time arrived to have boat trip on Congo River, he drive me one hour away from Kinshasa to the filthy, unsanitary and disgusting area, the home of previous dictator Mobuto. The boat was a fishing boat not a tourist boat with some picnic chairs on it. It was not safe going through the river traffic and I asked him to stop and return back and give me money. He continued. Later on he decided to ride along Brazzaville, Congo frontier without letting me know. We followed by the guards who stopped us and said I was not allowed to use phone as camera and camera to film here. They brought us into interrogation room for 3 hours taking statements why I was doing video and taking photos by the frontier with other Congo which I did not know. Serge knew perfectly that special permission required to film there but he failed to obtain that permission. Thanks God I was not taken away or have my phone or camera confiscated or worse to be arrested. He did not return my $20 I gave him siting on excuse that he had to pay bribe to the guard and promised to give me on my day of departure when he picks me up from hotel to the airport. Today, March 16 he picked me up and drove me to the airport. When we arrived I asked him again to return $20 I gave him. He game me excuse that his card does not work and he had no money. Do not trust this guy, don’t waste your money to him. He is not really a professional tour guide but self made alone acting without proper experience or knowledge how to handle tours for international customers. Don’t, under any circumstances use his service or you will be screwed. The other agency which is big and reputable I felt with with great people and professionals is Jeffrey Travel and Tours in Kinshasa. I used them before Donoco for Kinshasa city tour and Bonobos and they were great. Safe your money on Serge and Donoco. It’s not worth it

I used Danico Tours services to travel up the Congo river from Kinshasa to Tshumbiri in the Mai-Ndombe province to visit the Bonobo apes at Nkala. I would highly advise against Danico Tours services for the following reasons. 1: The car used to travel from Kinshasa to the port, approximately a 2-hour drive, had no seatbelts, AC and is in general in very poor condition. 2: The boat used to travel up the congo river basically has 6 plastic chairs and a table. We started with two motors but one broke on the first day and the crew didn’t bring any spare parts resulting in us arriving one day late. 3: The floor of the boat is full of holes making it quite dangerous to walk around especially during evening when there is no lighting. The back of the boat is also filled with gasoline containers hence, most of the boat smells of gasoline all the time. 4: The price of the tour is way overpriced and the tour operator still asked some in our party to lend him money to pay for things. The tour operator still owns us money for the second Bonobo visit that did not occur due to our late arrival, if a miracle occurs, I might see this money again. 5: The communication from Danico Tours during the trip is nonexistent e.g. you never know where you are going, when you’re are going to leave, what to expect next etc. The only good thing about the trip was that we got to see the Bonobos, that part of the tour is fortunately not arranged by Danico Tours. So to sum up, if you like to travel uncomfortably, love surprises, and enjoy eating small quantities of the same bland food every day go ahead and book your next tour with Danico Tours. If not, I would look for other options!

Just back from a memorable trip to Kinshasa and Brazzaville. Danico Tours with Serge and his great team provided an excellent arrangement. I felt very safe and to visit the two cities together with them was like visiting with friends. Danico Tours is more than a tour company. They provide very personalised and flexible service and show their country as it really is. I got to see the bonobos outside Kinshasa, went to church on a sunday, went on a pirogue on the Congo River and experienced the local flavour at markets and having beers and listening to music at local bars. We also visited the lowland gorillas at Lesio Luna north of Brazza. I can warmly recommend Danico to anyone who wants to discover the two capitals in a personalised and friendly way.

I was pleased with the services provided by Danico Tours. Despite getting off to a rather rough start, Serge Ilunga eventually did a great job, both with arranging my visa for the DRC and arranging a spectacular tour of Kinshasa for me. Serge was personally present at the airport to pick me up, and along with my driver and guide, ensured that my well-being was a top priority for the entirety of the tour. The 3 of them even came to pick me up from my hotel early the next morning to take me back to the airport, and were helpful with carrying my bags as always. I really appreciate the level of care Danico Tours places on customer satisfaction and have no hesitation to recommend them for any prospective traveler to the DRC

Je me suis bien régalé

Serge was an outstanding guide and provided a 5 stars customer service. He organized a trip that involved different cities and country crossings between Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo, specially in the area of Moanda and Soyo. I would definitely hire him again and I would recommend them to any travel that wants a safe, caring and customer focused guide. Thank you Serge and keep up with the great work!

I would highly highly recommend avoiding this company. They lied to us about pricing, stole money from the NGO partner, and providing the worst tour experience. Ive had friends use this company years ago without complaint but this is not the company it used to be. AVOID
