"Not enough space in the library during exam/coursework season"
"متاحة ٢٤ ساعة"
"Terrible library"
"As an external ticket holder I have been impressed with the service and facilities"
"Bought a latte at library cafe and requested a cup of water as thirsty declined which was declined due to the pandemic"
Not enough space in the library during exam/coursework season. Too much noise even in the silent areas. The silent patrols do nothing, especially the security. They just sit and watch from YouTube. Not enough PC spaces and the PC's were just recently upgraded to "newer" HPs which are still a nightmare. Not able to adjust the screen brightness is also another issue. As it wears out the eyes. Leicester University will see itself heading down the ranking charts. De Montfort has better facilities and general Aura. I access their library via Sconul.
Terrible library. Windows are constantly opening automatically and no one can stop it or is willing to. Might be freezing outside and the windows will still open. Cafeteria food is overpriced and choices aren't very good. Library staff don't allow you to take in coffee or anything other than water. Silent reading rooms are barely ever silent and the silent policy is hardly enforced.
As an external ticket holder I have been impressed with the service and facilities. Whilst as a non student I am unable to use the IT facilities, I can see this library is a world away from the musty university libraries I remember years ago when studying. It does get crowded during exam season, however if you arrive early you are guaranteed a spot.
Bought a latte at library cafe and requested a cup of water as thirsty declined which was declined due to the pandemic. But it was just a different liquid to the coffee? ?? Very sad and upset. Starbucks was closed where I get a cup of water with or without ice. I am reluctant to buy plastic bottles of water due to increase in plastic waste
The staff here are literally angels. I had a problem with my library card and they tried everything to make sure I could use the library. The library is bright, quiet with extensive collections of books. It’s a perfect place to study or have some alone time away from the crowd, and the library café is open every day.
Lovely cafe but staff using it for meetings, trying to enjoy a coffee and all I can hear are the same voices for over an hour talking about anxiety and student welfare - very loudly and almost theatrical as if they want everyone to hear. Shhhhhhhh! Wish these meetings could take place elsewhere.
I visited this Library when I went for my MBA Graduation. I was so impressed with the Library and the atmosphere. I can not comment much about this as I was not a full time student of the University. I am very happy as I visited the Library during the Graduation ceremony
Great place providing all the studying facilities you could possibly want as a student. PC access in IT rooms, group study rooms available for booking, lots of study spaces and well organized, easy to access shelves in the book areas. Kind and helpful staff.
The security staff would go above and beyond their duties, tucking chairs in and cleaning whilst on duty. They would create a family atmosphere. Sad to see the long standing staff go. Anamour, Anjum and Isaac were priceless assets for the university.
I attended Leicester several years ago and have been to another university since, which made me appreciate how wonderful Leicester’s David Wilson Library is. Modern, lots of spaces to study and generally just a great place to be.
Brilliant atmosphere, wide space and big screens are there, if you want to book it and show your work to colleagues or do assignments, highly recommended. One of the nicest place as respect to UoL
Great library with plenty of computers and desks. You can find pretty much any book that you are looking for. The facilities are great as well. Be prepared to do all nighters here ;)
Very good study space, whilst there aren't always seats available, the university is aware of this and makes a constant effort to make more space available when needed
Nice library, very well kept. Although the silent study zone is always freezing cold. Whatever weather it is outside, it’s the same temp there.
very good place with all necessary resources and facilities, but now it is very cold inside and not so comfortable to sit and study
The thermostat is way too high, you'll always hear people around you complaining it's too hot. Also the red carpets are ugly.
The best Uni library that I have been to. Amazing for learning as individual or groups. Memories, memories, memories..♂️
Very nice place to study .. provided with high quality facilities .. good for group studies, self study .. etc
Decent library. Sometimes struggle to get study space but good place to get work done. Decent café too.
Good study space and friendly staff. Always lots of books for me to study and continue my CPD.
Great modern library though food and drinks are pricey for what they're worth.
Nice place to study. Measures to protect against covid 19 have been taken
Great library and good collection of books, polite staff and service .
Excellent that the library is now open 24 hours a day. Super reliable
Lovely library, just far too small- often difficult to get a seat.
Great place to learn and contribute to knowledge by studying.
good library but beware of hefty fine if you lost any book
A lovely place to sit in and study variety of books
Very good working environment and good facilities
Very clean library, with decent lighting …
I'm just in love with this place and its café.
Could be very crowded during exam time.
Very good to study and very clean
Modern, convenient, quiet library
Good place to study, very quiet.
Great place to study and learn
The staff is very helpful.
Very quiet and calm
