I was so pleasantly surprised and thankful I stopped in this quaint but delightful little Italian spot across the street from the Hilton hotel. I t was small and intimate with nice decor, and not overdone. And though it's fairly small, it didn't feel cramped. Service was great and my waiter was very accommodating. Let me just say that the octopus carpaccio was wonderful! I could have eaten 3 or 4 plates of that alone! Fresh arugula salad, with capers and tender pulpo. Although the clams and linguini were not as flavorful as I am accustomed to, and a bit soupy, the clams themselves were so fresh and tender, and clearly a quality product, that I still thoroughly enjoyed the dish. I must admit that I'm a tiramisu fanatic and this one fell a bit short. Not very light and creamy, and a slight bitter taste that was a little off-putting. Nonetheless, this was an overall great experience and I would definitely return. I would love to see a beef carpaccio and pork osso bucco on the menu here!

I would give DeVito's 2.5 Stars. The service was very good, but bread was placed on our table without informing us that we would be charged for it. The Carpaccio di Polpo was beautiful in presentation, but bland in flavor. The Spaghetti Neri Fra Diavolo was surprisingly flavorless, both as to the black squid ink pasta and the seafood, with little heat. The Special, Lamb Marsala with Saffron Risotto had good flavor on the lamb (with the expected small sized serving of lamb not uncommon in most restaurants), but the risotto lacked as smooth a texture and flavor as one would have preferred. (The Special was $60, which was not communicated to us, but in fairness not asked about.) The photos provided herewith also depicted the Parmigiana Di Melanzane appetizer (which our friends liked.) The soup of the day was Pasta Faggiole. The Lemon Mascarpone dessert was tasty. The atmosphere became crowded and loud after 7. Overall, for tie price, the quality of the dishes could have been better. We wish this restaurant the best, but will not likely return.

My guests and I were greeted with a huge smile from Matt the host. He was friendly, funny, and attentive. He had a great welcoming NY accent that reminded me of my childhood home of CT. Our server Laura was a sweet heart, friendly, attentive and very helpful with choices of food and drinks. She had recommended one of their specials, the lobster tail over crab capellini and it was made to order fresh, flavorful and delicious. Everything they cooked was good. The drinks we ordered were served chilled and they were tasty. I love the style of the restaurant and the ambience was a comfortable intimate atmosphere. I will definitely come back.

Cozy, upscale, and intimate Italian restaurant right downtown. The food was impressive, with small portions which was perfect if you wanted something lite before heading for a night out. I recommend dressing up a bit as it is rather nice. My friend and I shared the swordfish and the linguine & clam pasta. It was really good.

I went with my cousin and boyfriend the other night, and they were short staffed so it took some time to have our waiter help us, but he was so sweet and funny and the owner of the restaurant was very very professional and personable. She made sure everything was good and we had everything we needed. Additionally, the food was delicious. They have mostly specialty foods and not a lot of traditional plates which I enjoy because that makes this place unique. The marinara sauce was so fresh and delicious and all the food was fresh as well. My Boyfriend and I got the special with the lobster ravioli and shrimp. And my cousin got the sausage and the squid ink spaghetti with blue crab. Overall very satisfied with the food and the ambiance and the service.

In my opinion Devito"s ranks in the top 10 Italian restaurants in Tampa Bay. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome and immediately seated. Our server Lenny provided us with top tier service. For starters we ordered the Meatballs, focatia bread and clams oregenato all met or exceeded my expectation. The focatia bread dipped in the meatball sauce is a whole delectable experience within an experience. Main dish I had the pasta and sausage and my wife had pasta and eggplant both were good as well. The atmosphere was a pleasant experience as well.

Devito's is the perfect date night place. The atmosphere provided an intimate setting and the tequila rose spritz is to die for. I ordered the arancini for our appetizer and I appreciated how the marinara paired with it was more on the sweet side for a better blend and I love pesto. It was enjoyable. For my meal I had the bucatini pecorino which was fresh and creamy. The speck ham did have a salty taste but it wasn't overpowering nor inedible. The service was adequate and I appreciated our waiter giving us privacy as it was an important dinner. I look forward to trying other menu options.

This place was amazing from the time we walked in. Tyler the bartender and GM welcomed us with a great personality! The smoked old fashioned was amazing from the presentation to the taste! Ordered the chicken parm that seemed like it was cooked to order. It was freshly cooked with not too much sauce and just the right amount of pasta to satisfy the craving! If you want overpriced mediocre Italian food and are an unsuspecting tourist at the Hilton or Marriott waterside, this place is for you. Finding the nice things to say, food and ambience was acceptable, but hospitality was a failure. If you are any sort of local, don't waste time or money as there are much better options. If you want 400% mark up on mediocre wine selection, flood lights an hour earlier than posted closing time, this place is for you.

Great new spot in downtown Tampa. Here's what my party of 8 had, and every item the table thought was delicious: Espresso Martini, Prisoner Cab, Amaretto Sours, Arancini, Meatballs, Eggplant, Veal, Salmon, Pork (a little too salty), Bucatini, and Tiramisu. I’d specifically requested for my pasta to not have eggplant but it arrived with eggplant - the server was a bit too busy so couldn’t have it sent back so we just scooped pieces of eggplant out and ate around it. I've been meaning to try this place when I first saw they were building it out. I was happy to see that they opened for lunch. The restaurant is elegant, with fantastic music and tasteful décor. The owners are friendly and chatted with me for a bit. The food was delicious! I had the eggplant parmesan, house red wine and tiramisu. I definitely want to go back and try their other dishes. I highly recommend if you're visiting, a girl's night out, date night, or to treat yourself for lunch. Enjoy!

Me and my boyfriend came here for a romantic dinner and received just that. The environment was soothing and soft Christmas music was playing. The food was spectacular. We ordered appetizers that were yummy and then my main meal of the chicken parm was so delicious. It was perfectly tender and thin. Well done, we will be back!!

Amazing all around! The best desserts. Delicious appetizers. Loved the meatballs, risotto balls, the red sauce was absolutely delicious. Had the filet Oscar (special) and it was spectacular. If you love Italian food you’re doing yourself a disservice if you do not come to this place. Phenomenal authentic Italian food. Homemade. Flavors are amazing. This is done right. I’m only in Tampa for five days and this was the best meal I’ve had. Even the complementary bread which is homemade is outstanding with flavors of olive oil and fresh rosemary.

Excellent food. Pasta is home made. Delightful staff. Visiting from out of town, would HIGHLY recommend and would return. So many dishes to choose…If I lived in Tampa would eat here often.

Great place to meet with friends and enjoy an escape especially in these trying time. Will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Quite disappointed that with a 6:15pm reservation, another large party and some other people that arrived AFTER us were served first. We waited 1hr & 45 minutes before we were served any food. My food arrived cold so it was returned.

Let me just say the table side service was great! The chef was personable and lively and did a great job on the special, the carbonara. However that was not enough to overshadow the mediocre/slightly rude service from our waiter. The

Hidden gem. Great Italian restaurant with a diverse menu and great cocktails! Breaded butterfly pork chop with grilled mix vegetables is my favorite.
