I came across Dallas Deco-Dence researching who could, not only custom size the Art Deco pieces I had in mind (precisely a "Dominique" inspired vanity in rosewood with a sunburst pattern for the powder room and 2 "DeCoene" dressers in mahogany as vanities for our master bathroom) but also finish them to last in the conditions inherent to a bathroom location. The 3 pieces received recently are of the highest quality and finishes and the attention to details second to none. Some of my requirements - the sabots or metal banding to name a few - were difficult to achieve and have been exquisitely crafted. Working with Justin is easy and delightful as he listens carefully, asks questions about potential details, gives options and emails progress pics. His knowledge of the period and keen eye are an invaluable help in designing with the right scale, proportions and correct hardware and the result is 5 stars. Before receiving the vanities, I added a bedside table to match a dresser and an island for the dressing room to relate to the DeCoene vanities. We purchased a custom table from Deco-Dence Gallery & Studio called "Radiance" crafted to our specifications. The table is in the classic style of Jacques Emile Ruhlmann and features 60 intricately inlaid sections of Ebony veneer creating a dazzling sunburst pattern. The table also utilizes reclaimed ivory in the form of inlaid circular decorative dots. This table was for a high profile client's entry way. The piece came in flawless, the details are amazing and it is beyond beautiful. Justin was great to work with. His communication is top notch, and the level of professionalism from Deco-Dence must be how they attract renowned designers and celebrities from around the world with their creations. Their specialty is bringing new life to once grand items. They had an art deco envelope bar from the 1930’s that was very cool, but had obviously “brought a lot of joy” over the years. Looking at examples of their work, we took a chance an OMG! Their commitment to quality, attention to detail and communication through what is to be a journey were fantastic. Bringing something back to beyond its original grandeur is a talent I will never know. It takes extraordinary patience, skill and a special eye to do this. In addition, Justin’s knowledge of the history and engineering to do this make him a rare artisan. Thank you!

My decorator friend says that I am one of his most demanding clients. My philosophy is along the lines of William Morris and can be summed up as I would rather have less, but fully enjoy what I do have. I commissioned a St. Germaine Club chair and matching Ottoman in Macassar Ebony. The end result is magnificent, well constructed works or art I either admire or sit on every time I pass by. I have commissioned full on custom wallpaper, rugs and a sofa. Of all, I am happiest with the St..Germain and ottoman.
