It was alright. There are simply better options nearby. 1) A fairly limited list of classics cocktails, but the soda was flat in the Aperol spritz, so we didn't venture to try another. 2) Server confessed to not being a wine drinker, so couldn't speak to any of the reds by glass. While the honesty is welcome, it'll be fairly common for guests to ask about the qualities of the wines: light, medium, full bodied, fruit notes, tannins, sweetness, acidity, etc. Whether you enjoy it or not, a spiel matched with each should be remembered so diners can feel informed. A taster was given, but the damage is already done in terms of knowledge and authenticity for an Italian restaurant striving to be "fine." 3) Our mussels didn't taste fresh...they lacked that distinct, light sweetness of quality seafood. Some were okay, some were mushy or chewy. We'll stick with Black Pearl (a fair comparison, given their relation to Cafe Amore). 4) Pasta was hit or miss, but good portion sizes. The creamy farfalle was good, but the spaghetti and meatballs were criminally under seasoned. Requested pepper received a single grind overtop, when it's usually "just tell me when." Given current conditions, I think you have to be exceptional to survive; that location has been many things before. I hope they find their groove.

Was pleasantly surprised with the food. I had looked at the website before coming to the restaurant for gluten free options, which they stated they had. Sadly, the options were extremely limited, and that is the only reason I reduced to 4 stars. I would say most Italian restaurants have the option of a gluten free pizza crust, soup and pasta. My options were 1 type of pasta and the shrimp appetizer. HOWEVER, the pasta that I received was delicious. The flavour was on point, and the portion size was generous. My coworkers ordered the lunch size pizzas and they really enjoyed it. They mentioned being too full to finish, which is nice to hear about a lunch sized portion. ADDITIONALLY, I would go back just for the Caesar salad. Probably the best Caesar salad I have ever had. The dressing is obviously homemade by a garlic lover like myself. I will be tasting garlic for a week, which I am totally ok with. I would love to see more gluten free options in the future, but regardless, I will be back for that amazing Caesar salad.

We started out with high hopes - seeing the other reviews and photos on the website I thought we might have a great meal. I was so wrong, and the meal was an utter disappointment. First I will say the price of the menu is good. Unfortunately that is where the good stops. I had the pescatore, my wife had the gnocchi, and my son had a pizza. The tomato sauce for my dish was way too thick and old, like it had been sitting in a hot well dying a slow death. I don't know when the seafood in the pescatore was cooked but it wasn't freshly done. The shrimp on top were cooked on a grill and unfortunately I could taste everything else that was cooked on the grill from that night. The gnocchi when it arrived was spilling over onto the rim of the bowl and the gnocchi could have been purchased from a grocery store near by. For the pizza the dough was nice but it truly lacked flavour. On a Friday night I would expect the A team to be on but sadly I don't think that was the case.

i was there the night MONA was there and her description was 100% accurate. the service was very slow from the start. when we did get our appetizers an hour later the calamari was not good. another table sent it back as well. we decided to order everything at once and it was a good decision because it took another 45 minutes to get that. the server barely came around to refill drinks and didn’t as how our food was. i didn’t even bother to order dessert in fear of it both taking forever and not being good. it was an extremely disappointing experience. i notice after MONA’s review there are 3 very positive reviews which i believe are to bury the truth they are not even open right now. i have never ever even considered making a review of a place before but this was unacceptable for such a highly rated restaurant and i believe i know why now.

Was referred to this restaurant by a coworker who's had some great meals here, and Del Posto did not disappoint. Excellent staff, and the food was ready quickly. I had the bruschetta for a starter. The crust wasn't as crispy as I've had it elsewhere, but there's nothing wrong with that, and I quite enjoyed it. Very flavorful. For the main it was the Penne Con Pollo e Pancetta which, as all the reviews I read had been very encouraging, and it was exactly that. A very large portion of perfectly done pasta, with a wonderful cream sauce. The only downside is that it was so good, I will always want it on future visits, and won't get around to trying everything else on the menu. Highly recommended! My new favorite Italian restaurant.

This small gem was just what the doctor ordered for an overdue visit with a dear friend. Smaller menu is just fine when everything I ate was delicious. We started by sharing the Arrancini which were crispy on the outside and fluffy and cheesy on the inside, as well the Cozze Alla Marinara which was fresh and so flavourful we sent the bowl back darn near clean. We decided to continue the sharing theme with a Caprese salad which was perfect and fresh then we took our fantastic waitresses suggestion (who was wonderful and friendly) and had the Farfalle Infernale which was simply amazing! rich flavour with so many layers and depth with the perfectly cooked chicken and tasty shrimp. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Del Posto and swore to each other we would return with our significant others to share this gem and get to try more of there offerings. Portion size for money, you won’t find much better (maybe Cafe Amore?). Wine, beer and cocktails were a bit limited, unless you’re buying wine by the bottle and the list does have some hidden gems on it, if you like a good red. The penne con pollo was very nice. I didn’t find an issue with it. The table next to me ordered a smorgasbord of food that looked and smelled delightful. The dining room is nice, except the tv stands out and makes it feel more like a sports bar than a restaurant. The bathroom could use some love. When I walked in, there was an overpowering smell of bleach, which made me confident that the cutlery was clean, but it was the first thing I noticed. Overall, I’d come back again. It’s quiet and decent quality for the price you’ll pay.

Stopped by for lunch on Wed Jul 28th and had one of the best sauces on my meal (Penne Con Pollo e Pancetta ) I've ever had in any Italian restaurant. We were so impressed we took friends back last night and enjoyed the patio. A little noisy due to traffic but a wonderful evening with great food. Tried the Bruschetta, meatballs and Caesar salad as appys. Various meals were ordered. I sampled our friends pizza. Delicious! I had the Penne Con Pollo e Pancetta (again). Excellent, and the sauce is wonderful. Wife had spaghetti and the fourth guest had Farfalle Infernale. Everybody loved the food. Nicole, the waitress, was wonderfully attentive to our needs. All-in-all a great time and I highly recommend you try this place. PS: Would love it if they added Lasagna to the menu.

We’ve been here twice in the past two weeks. This is by far the best Italian restaurant in Edmonton and beyond. The service was amazing. The waiter was very personable and friendly. The ambiance is classic Italy. And the food. Oh the food! It was perfecto. So delicious. So flavourful. Every bite was pure heaven. The portions are big. We were shocked by how much food we got. I had the Penne Con Pollo e Pancetta Chicken and my husband had the Tagliatelle Florentine. And we shared a bruschetta. Wow!! We will be back many many more times. If you’re a pasta lover, you gotta eat here! Your taste buds will thank you for it.

Visiting Del Posto was a beautiful dining experience. To start, we tried the Italian wedding soup, bruschetta, and Caesar sal, for entrees we each had pasta dishes, and for dessert we had gelato and small donuts. Every single dish we had was exceptional, no room for improvement. The food is above and beyond expectations. Highly recommend this spot if you like Italian food. Atmosphere and service was great as well, exposed brick and decor makes it a cozy restaurant, it was perfect for a nice birthday dinner, but I would also feel comfortable having a more casual dining experience here as well. Service was friendly and personable, and met all of our needs. Will visit again!

Would NOT recommend this restaurant to anybody. I waited 1 hour and a half for my pasta! Others who were seated 30 minutes after me got served and left before me. At that point, I would’ve just preferred to get the pasta noodles raw and the sauce to go and make the pasta at home myself. When I finally receive my pasta (which was only sauce and noodles because I’m a vegetarian) the sauce was full of water and the noodles were overcooked. The waitress didn’t even check on our table at all and I had to ask her and the other waiter for water multiple times. A waste of money and would not recommend.

Headed into Edmonton with no real destination for lunch. Saw this restaurant and decided to try. Sat outside on the patio. Our server was warm , friendly and attentive. We both had a lunch combo with 25% off on Mondays. I had Spaghetti Pomodora & Ceasar Salad and he had Penne Con Pollo Pancetta and Ceasar Salad. He said it was the best cream sauce he has had. Both meals were delicious and we will return. One small disappointment is the unavailability of a Chardonnay by the glass. Good selection of reds and whites by the bottle but limited options by the glass.

It was very quiet and empty when we arrived for our reservation. The service was great and we were seated by a window and promptly placed our orders. The food was fantastic. Pasta dishes with the mussels as a starter. The pasta was fresh, flavors were great, and the seafood was fresh (not fishy or chewy, like you would get from precooked frozen). Will absolutely go again! On our list of favorites for sure!

Wow. I'd heard this place was worth checking out, and so glad we did. Portions are generous, cost was very reasonable, and the food was so good. My friend ordered the cauliflower soup *twice*, it was that tasty. The pasta portions are good for a meal and then lunch the next day. Our server was very friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent... but to be fair, the restaurant was quiet, which surprised me considering how good it was. Maybe just hasn't been discovered yet. Will definitely go back.

Probably one of the worst service experiences I’ve ever had. After an hour we were only served drinks and appetizers. Took over an hour to get food even when we said we were in a rush. Three tables that arrived after us ate and one left before we even got our food. And we were only two people. Veal meatballs were dry and bland. Don’t order. Pizza tasted like a frozen crust. Great little Italian restaurant. We met here for lunch prior to a meeting downtown and all ordered off the lunch menu. We all ordered the Pizetta. Went there at 4pm for an very early 4 course dinner. After less than an hour and a half, we were told the table was reserved for someone else. There was only one other table with guests! We would have left earlier if the service wasn’t so slow. We ordered the same seafood pasta and they forgot to include the jumbo shrimps. The shrimps came out individually on a separate plate. Half the food (appetizer and dessert) was good. Salad and pasta was abundant but a bit bland.

Booked a very last minute dinner reservation for 22 people and they went above and beyond to accommodate us all. Food was delicious and serving staff was so friendly, patient and kind.

My partner and I cancelled our dinner reservations due to snowy roads tonight at a different Italian place and found this gem on skip the dishes, I actually work right next door to this restaurant and always wondered how the food was, the decor does look a bit lacking, but the food was delicious! Large portions, piping hot and very flavorful , they didn't skip out on the protein in the dishes either and it came with fresh rolls and butter. I'll be back!

I would say a very average place, with mediocre food and very slow service. The ambience is decent but doesn’t compensate for slow service and the food isn’t worth the wait either. The aranchini balls were too bland. The pizza was okayish and the ravioli was …well delayed and by the time it was served we lost the appetite.

Went here for a Valentine's dinner and it was AMAZING! The staff here worked so hard and were nonstop all night. The food was to die for and the portions were great! Left with food for a late night snack. Also, ordered the mini donuts for dessert and it was HUGE! Best bang for your buck and the quality is top notch! They opened up during the pandemic and I applaud them for there perseverance! Would 100% come back!

Unfortunately our experience did not live up to the reviews. Got waters when we sat down, one glass had chunks on the side and the other had a dead mosquito. Got the 24$ feast, great deal, but the pasta was mediocre at best. The risotto balls were our favorite of what we got, but still not the best we have had in the city.

Very cozy Italian restaurant. Great location, nice atmosphere. I was there for a friend's birthday on a sunday, they had their pasta feast special where peolple get 3 pasta dishes of their choice for $24 (July 2022). The staff was friendly and the food was very delectable. I would 100% recommend this place to friends and family. I will certainly go back too try more of their dishes.

Nothing was fresh, all frozen. Not a single item we ordered was cooked properly. I've never tasted salmon so dry and revolting before. Service was non existent. The music was annoying and way too loud. The prices are absurd for the quality of food.

Made a reservation here for 7pm. Showed up and hostess couldn’t find our rezo in the system. I even brought up the confirmation on my phone to show her and ensure date / time was correct. We had to scramble to find another place at 7pm on Saturday during downtown dining week. We were all p.o’d! I’ll update my review if I decide to give this place another shot.

Atmosphere was quite cozy, portions and price were great. I loved the flavor of my saffron risotto dish, the only thing I didn't like about it though is that the rice was a little hard (not fully cooked), I'm going to order it again and if that gets improved I will change my review to 5 stars.

I had been struggling to find a good Italian restaurant to make a same memorized taste of Linguini Pescatore from my previous favorite Italian and now I am happy found Del Posto . We had curbside pickup during Edmonton's Downtown Dining week and the food was delicious. Loved their bruchetta, and they were able to accomodate a dairy sensitive allergy when we mentioned it while ordering. The pasta dishes were very good and all the food had great portions. Their mini doughnuts were great!

Incredible food with a quaint, lovely atmosphere, and wonderful staff. Started with the best bruschetta I've ever had. Then on to the salmon, which was out-of-this-world amazing, a fantastic spaghetti pomodoro, and finally a duo of their specialty coffees to end the night.

The portions were large. Come with an appetite. The decor was charming and the food was delicious. Didn't feel the need to get an appetizer simply because there was so much good in the main.

Our family ate dinner here this past week and it was amazing. Cozy and clean restaurant with the most delicious Calamari I have ever had. Service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing food, large portions and very reasonably priced! The lemon butter sauce that accompanied the salmon entre was to die for! Highly recommend this newly established downtown eatery.

Great portions, yummy food, comfortable vibe, nice aesthetic. I will assume they were understaffed as service was a bit slow, but I could see they were working as fast as possible.

Yummy lunch. Lunch time portions were huge. Caprese salad was exceptional. That and garlic toast would have filled me up. Fafalle Inferno was yummy with chicken and mushrooms.

Great service. Bruschetta was delicious. Calamari could have been more crispy. Big pasta portions - I'd recommend sharing. Restaurant was a bit chilly, but clean and spacious.

Nicole an excellent server. The pizza was very delicious. Classy restaurant, a little noisy on the patio due to traffic. But it is summer and we are outdoors.

Just had two appies (not apples!! Sorry to those who saw my review pre edit lolll) and sangria on a food adventure, but it was wonderful! Will return!

Delious! The food was great. We went during lunch and it was really busy and only 1 server working but she did great! And got us out within an hour.
