Best dental experience I had in Canada. I did cleaning/ x-ray and check up with Dr. Alavi. CHECK UP: I really liked that Dr. Alavi was very rational and reasonable in his recommendations. Clearly provided me a picture of what will happen next to my teeth. And as some other dentist did in the past, he did not try to sell me some additional or unnecessary procedures but rather made me aware of what I can do / should do / and need to consider. EXTRA: To add he also provided with additional information on mouthwashes etc that was never brought to my attention before and i appreciate it since that will help me to take care of my teeth even better. CLEANING: I hardly remember having non painful cleaning where i was asked what I did like and did not like in previous cleanings . Hygienist was also very considerate of how I feel and what she was doing. RECEPTION: Also to mention two girls that work at reception very polite, quick and informative. Submitted my claims and provided with print out on reimbursement. Great. Really admire his approach and would continue coming here and definitely would recommend to others. Thank you :)

I had an excellent experience with this Dental Office. I work in medicine and thus have a high standard for who I choose to look after my personal health. I have had recurring dental issues since I was a child that I been reading/studying/consulting on in order to get to the root of the issue (pun intended). This is the first dental office and dentist (Dr. Mahan Alavi) that took the time to answer questions, discuss my dental issues/lifestyle/diet etc and take time afterwards to explain everything surrounding his initial assessment. I’m lucky to have benefits through work but I would recommend this dentist to everyone as it is worth the investment to prevent further issues down the road. Dr. Alavi is humble yet confident and is genuinely interested in bettering himself as a clinician by reviewing the emerging science on holistic dentistry that considers the effects of diet/lifestyle/sleep on oral health. I will be returning for regular checkups at this office and will be recommending them to my friends and family in the area.

I've been a patient of Dr Cheng now for almost ten years and he is absolutely one of the kindest - and truly the most skilled dentist I know. I had previously had crowns made too large for my molar, fillings in the back that were improperly done by several dentist that caused me pain for several years until Dr Cheng took painstakingly attention to detail to fix (with laser technology!) and no issues for years since. His work is impeccabke. I was sad when he decided to take a step back but I trusted he would choose only the best and most skilled dentist to join his practice. It has been about four years now with Dr Alavi, who has shown himself to be equally straightforward, gentle and kind! He does not recommend unnecessary treatments and knows his craft very well. This practice really does embrace technology and cutting edge technique and we are lucky the dedication is continuing. The new team at the clinic also seem incredibly kind and lovely - very organized and friendly!

Definitely recommend, based on my personal experience specifically w Dr Alavi (routine fillings and a molar extraction). Great work on the extraction, I was in and out of the office in 30 minutes, the actual extraction was probably ten minutes including the local anesthetic. It healed quickly and nicely. He has a great bedside manner (or should I say chairside in this case), relaxed even under stress, works with you based on your needs and budget, expresses what’s the ideal course of action but definitely no aggressive upselling. He also has great connections if you need an endodontist for complex root canals etc. Lastly I like the more modern and client centric vision he brought to this practice, staff is great, they do personalized follow ups after bigger procedures, more of a holistic view, things that can be digitized got digitized and save time, etc.

Aug 24, 2023 morning. Dentistry on King (from both Drs Alavi and Cheng's Team) has always been offering consistent and exceptional standard of professional service. I went there today to have my regular teeth cleaning and implant readiness assessment. Again as always Tatiana (hygienist) was thorough and completed the session on time. She explained and related clinical progress about the impact of cleaning. Dr. Alavi came afterwards to assess the tooth status for future implant work. Again Dr. Alavi explained clearly the rationale for the implant suggestion (critical tooth) and the next stage for the implant journey . I highly recommend Dentistry on King and Dr. Alavi and his team. From the very beginning everything happened promptly and in a timely manner. Very accommodating atmosphere. All measures were taken to create a clean environment and all the COVID protocols were in place. Dr. Alavi is a very through and passionate dentist with a very comprehensive approach to oral health taking his time to go into depth and explain things. Honestly, I have never seen any dentist explaining in depth and emphasizing prevention as much as Dr. Alavi!! Norie at the front desk, the assistants and the hygienist Mina were all great and welcoming as well. I have done some fillings and wisdom extraction. All went great with minimal pain and absolute no discomfort. Highly recommend this place. They have amazing arts too!!

Not pleasant experience for the first consulting appointment. The doctor was late for almost 20min not because of anything but talking to someone else even I arrived and was waiting for him in the room. Also, the doctor suggested a bunch of non-necessary charges including sedation and PRF for my wisdom teeth removal(I asked again to ensure I was hearing correctly from a perspective that I have went through couple dental surgeries prior). The doctor Alavi didn’t check my mouth before I go - the appointment was booked for 45min with 144$ and the doctor simply talked for most 20min. I was told I should expect a follow up after the doctor takes another closer look into my CTs - but I never heard back. In short, thought it would be a long - term dental office choice but was disappointed.

My visit to Dentistry on King is always satisfactory and pleasant. They are professional, courteous, on-time and knowledgeable. Dr Mahan Alavi has gentle hands and a reassuring voice. You need both every visit! During my first visit, he did my root canal and I fell asleep! If you're wondering if he sang me a lullaby, he didn't. He made me comfortable all the time. My second visit, I did a short consult and he knew exactly what was wrong with me. He explained to me his theory and our treatment plan. I am certain that he will be able to fix my discomfort fully and provide the right solutions to keep my teeth, gums and overall dental health in good shape just like before. I recommend DoK and Dr Alavi to anyone who has simple and complex dental needs.

Today I had a crown done and it looks and feels amazing.He has all the equipment there to build the crown, so I was done in one appointment. David has such a light hand, I never feel any pain or discomfort when he is working on my teeth.I have multiple issues with my back and neck and they are very mindful and kind to accommodate my needs. I also had veneers done more than 10 years ago, and they still look and feel perfect. David is very passionate about his job and he always keeps up with all the new products, equipment and techniques. David is the best dentist I have met, his team is the best, very friendly and knowledgeable, that's why I give them a five star.

Dr. Alavi is an incredible dentist who really takes the time to explain everything in great detail but also in an easy to understand manner. He doesn't ever push any particular treatment on you, but instead walks you through what he recommends and ultimately leaves the choice up to you, which I really appreciate. The staff at Dentistry on King are also very friendly and helpful, and are very thorough at helping you understand the costs of certain procedures. It really makes you feel like they're on the same team as you and that they want the best for your oral health. All in all, fully recommend.

Although I don't work downtown anymore, I still go to Dentistry on King....wouldn't change even for more convenience. I've been going to DOK, which is now owned by the wonderful Dr. Mahan Alavi, previously David Cheng, for 10 years. I go every 4 months for cleaning, and I haven't missed a single appointment through the pandemic....that's how confident I am in their protocols. They are well organized, good communicators, nice, give me good advice without lecturing, and I feel do excellent work on my teeth. I've referred many people to them, and no one's been disappointed. Highly recommend.

After being told that I should have my upper wisdom teeth removed soon by two different doctors (although no issues involved), I had a chance to have a consultation with Dr. Alavi. Unlike other clinics, he suggested to have a thorough examination: X-ray and pictures of my teeth from different angles. His determination was that it does not look or feel urgent, and I have an option to monitor rather than remove them right away. He was very detailed and professional. (So was his team who ran the examination) I appreciate his honesty. I am going back for cleaning soon!

Dr David Cheng has been working on replacing my entire top and bottom teeth with dental implants since Dec 2022. We hope to complete the entire process by -Dec of this year. He has been very patient and methodical to ensure the best fit and to ensure long term success. He has managed to make a painful and tedious process manageable and as less intrusive as possible. I am impressed!! Dr. Alavi and his team were very accommodating and caring. While they had a very tight schedule, I needed an emergency appointment, but Dr patiently checked in with me about my concerns and advised the best feasible solution. Honestly, I was in such a rush that didn't expect to receive high quality treatment (Dr. Alavi was very detailed oriented and thorough). The clinic was also very clean and convenient in the busy downtown, so I could get back to my workplace right after the procedure.

I've now been to Dentistry on King a number of times and I love the service. Dr. Alavi makes each experience extremely comfortable and the appointments can always be made for the very near future, which is wonderful if you want to be proactive with your dental journey. It's right downtown and in an extremely convenient location. The hygienists and dental assistants are also always friendly. At this point I feel like I'm just listing things I like about the office but hey, that's probably a great thing.

I’ve been going to Dentistry on King to see Dr. Alavi since I moved to Toronto a few years ago. As I have a not-so-mild fear of dental work in general … it might be more meaningful when I say: THIS PLACE IS GREAT. I had the best experience here. The environment was very friendly. The place was CLEAN and when your appointment is on 4:00 o'clock the doctor will be working on your teeth at 4:00.
