I've heard about Dianna's "Award Winning Pizzas" on a local radio station and was very interested with the interview that they hosted with the owner, Dianna. Yesterday, I happened to be in the right part of town at the right time to drop in and place an order for Take Out. There was a scant menu on the chalk board, but I soon found a paper menu and explored it. I was asked what I wanted to order. I couldn't really decide as there were so many interesting choices. I asked for a recommendation. I was told "It depends what you like, there's the menu.", to which I responded " I like pretty much anything, what would you recommend for someone's first time here that would make me want to keep coming back." I literally live across the city from this restaurant, but if the food and service are good, I usually make the effort to return. This is where the little bit of service I had received so far totally disappeared. I was given a blank look, then I was ignored for 10 minutes, left standing and waiting. I thought about leaving and going over to Pizza Gusto on the other block, but was determined to try this pizza. I chose a random pizza from the menu, and waited. My order was finally taken, and I was told 20 minutes. I waited in the car due to the current pandemic situation, and after 25 minutes went in. I was told it would be a little longer...not a problem. After 10 more minutes, my pie was ready, and I left for for home. On the way home, I picked up my wife from work. She said that the pizza smelled good, to which I replied " I hope it is, $50 and horrible service...the pizza better be good. The pizza was incredible, but based on the lack of service, at the end of it all I don't know why I would want to make an effort to go there, even if I lived across the street. UPDATE November 20 After the owner Diana, reached out and contacted me with her concerns about my experience at her restaurant, I soon realized that this particular experience was probably more of an anomaly than the norm. Her determination to make right this situation by addressing it with her staff and offering me a sincere apology from their and her behalf have convinced me of this. The fact the the food was through the roof excellent, and her recommendations on a few of her favourites have convinced me to edit my review and bump it up from 2 to 4 stars. I will be re-visiting this restaurant and hopefully not be disappointed...perhaps the next review will be a 5?

What has happened to Diana's pizza? It tastes worse than frozen pizza from Walmart. I remember when it first opened we used to buy pizza from here all the time we had their Pizza a few days ago and it literally tastes like cardboard very dry the toppings aren't even the same the sauce taste different it's obvious that this restaurant is cutting back on their quality ingredients that sold them so big the first time around. Do yourself a favor and head over to Hearth mozza restaurant which is down the street from Diana's!! amazing wood fire pizza just like Italy just like I remember from our last trip in Naples Italy!! Diana you have really disappointed our group of 56 people we are a baseball team and we used to order from you and sorry never again the worst Pizza in Winnipeg!!!!! I just read a review that was really disgusting seriously Diana you're making excuses for your business partner who slammed the door and the customer's face and would not service her he was having a terrible day yeah whatever that's a bunch of Lies I've dealt with you many times and you are very very rude and unprofessional that's the way you are that's the way you do business ! I hope that customer doesn't come back and see you I don't think she would be dumb enough to do that

I arrived at Diana’s at 8:10 today. As I pulled up to the restaurant a man came running to the door and locked it. I thought it was quite odd so I knocked on the door. He proceeded to open the door and shout at me that they were closed. I was confused as to why, as the hours posted on the website say they are open until 830 and the actual hours posted on the door say open til 10 every night. When I questioned him he said it was an old sign, which is fine and then I said to him the website says you’re open til 8:30. Then he said he was closing because there is no business. When I told him I was business he said it was too late. I read a glowing review about this establishment so that’s why I went out of my way to try it out and drive halfway across the city to try it. He said he was the owner so the whole experience just left a sour taste in my mouth. In this day and age when you try and support smaller local businesses and they rudely turn you a way in such a manner it’s not a good look. I took my business down the street to Dominoes, which may not have better pizza but atleast they don’t lock their doors whenever they feel like it.

My family & I were excited about trying four different Pizzas. We got to Diana's at about 4:30pm. We placed our order at the takeout and were told it would be about 30 minutes. We were seated in the dining room to wait. After 40 minutes I checked to see how things were going and was told it would be ready soon, whereupon I went back and sat with my family in the dining room. At 50 minutes we all went to the take out counter to check again. At 55 minutes we finally got our pizzas. It also was very strange when we first got there we did actually want to eat in the dining room rather than the takeout. We were told that there wouldn't be a server for a half hour, or 5pm. Thus the reason we ordered it to go. Seems strange that a place that opens at 4 doesn't have a server until 5. I know these are handmade and very unique, but almost an hour was really long. That being said, the pizzas were fantastic. The medium crusts we all had was super good. The cheese on mine was creamy and delicious. We really liked our pizzas, but we're disappointed with the length of time before we had them in hand. They are pricey, I understand that, but I'm just not sure it takes 55 minutes to make.

A revision to my previous 2 star review: Originally I was disappointed with one of the pizzas I had ordered as it was missing an important ingredient. I was contacted quickly and they re-made the pizza for me. "Consent Fries with a Pickle" was a very unique pizza that I enjoyed eating. I've had and enjoyed pickles on pizza but these ingredients intrigued me and they really worked well together. It was favourful with very generous amount of toppings making it really filling. The "Fragole di Capra" strawberry pizza tasted phenomenal. I was skeptical at first but I had to give it a try because it's so unique. I would definitely get this one again and recommend trying at least once! On both visits the customer service had been great. It definitely is a more expensive pie but for some of the more unique combinations it's a good splurge once in a while for something new. I still can't give this place 5 stars though. They may have remade my pizza but I still had to drive back across the city to grab it, wasting my time and gas when it should have been made properly the first time.

Great pizza, but pitiful service in the lounge. Went to have a couple beverages and a bite on a Saturday afternoon, no one else was in the lounge, that should have been our first clue. First off, the young waiter/pizza maker brought us water to the table, the wife ordered her drink, which he said back her completely wrong, then attempted to walk away before I had a chance to order a drink. Had to repeat michelob ultra to him multiple times and then show him on the menu. He returned immediately with my beer and a glass, then disappeared into the kitchen to not return with my wife’s beverage. After waiting for 10 minutes, we decided to go elsewhere. Paid for my 1/2 finished beer and left. The bar had a noticeable film of dust on it, not to mention that there was a mountain bike inside near the entrance. Diana should do herself a favor and close the lounge, there’s an obvious reason no one else was there on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

Let me start by saying when it comes to pizza I'm not a lover of saucy pizza. I am however a lover of pizza (usually order once a week, often from Gondola). In the past whenever I have been interested in Diana's I'm put off by the high prices, today however I decided to give this a try. Whenever I try a new place I always go simple so I ordered the ultimate pepperoni. The acidity of the sauce just overwhelmed my palate to the point where I couldn't really taste much else. Then I thought maybe I'm eating it too hot. So I let it cool down hoping I could taste everything better, however I still felt it was too acidic. The toppings and the cheese taste good if you remove a lot of the sauce, and although a little greasy I did feel the pizza was cooked relatively well. It wasn't at all doughy. In the end I don't think I would order again but if I did I would certainly make sure the pizza was lightly sauced.

First time ordering pizza from Diana's and it wont be the last. We ordered 2 pies, the 12 inch Deluxe and the Mexican. The toppings were fresh and plentiful. I would remove the crumbled bacon from the Deluxe next time around. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side but a good consistency and just the right amount. But the crust was the real star, we tried one with regular crust and one with thin crust, I preferred the regular crust for its nice chew. Next time we might try the moosehead and crunchy thin. A bit pricey for 2 12 inch pies and the bacon was not cooked enough for our liking so 4 stars is all I can provide on this time.

Food was great. Unfortunately it came 1 hour and 45+ minutes later. Including the appetizers. We had reservations for 8 and other people who came in after us received their orders first. I'm not talking about people who came in a few minutes after us but at least 1/2 hour later. The manager (?) said it was because of Mother's day but even I know that a sit down restaurant cannot be managed like a take out/pick up place. They are different entities. Food is good, and we know it was not the serving person's fault but this is the second year in a row. Last year, same date, was slightly better so we thought we would give them a second chance but this year was unacceptable. Food was good, order and pick it up or delivery but do not have it in the restaurant.

Pizza is very good. Their Moosehead beer crust is so tasty and unique to other so called pizzerias. They have the regular pie offerings like others do; however their specialty pizza is where to choose from. We had 2 specialty pies: Havarti Heaven and Ricky's Revenge. Both were very tasty. My reasoning for 4 star and not 5 star review is their dine in experience is less than desirable. They need to put some money from their pie sales back into the restaurant. It could be so much nicer eating experience with their tasty pies. The benches are horribly hand crafted seats. The wine holder is DIY pallet project. Kitschy or tacky? The server was friendly and informed. Licensed dining room and lots of free parking. Try a tasty pie!

This restaurant has the parking at the strip mall, there is no shortage of parking. The restaurant has two parts. The first is the pickup/to go side, the other is the dining room. The restaurant isn't huge but when we went there was no problem getting a seat. The staff was friendly and service was great. We ordered a half and half large pizza and chicken wings. The BBQ wings were great, juicy, meaty and great smokey flavour. 5+++ The pizza we had was a large medium crust we will have to try the thin crust another day. Both halves were speciality pizza types. Both were excellent and worth the value. Food came out very hot. Overall it's a great place worth checking out.

The first bite blew up my taste buds! I chewed slowly savouring every flavour explosion from then on. I still can’t tell you which side I liked better because it was the best pizza of my fifty-two year existence. I couldn’t make up my mind there were so many awarding choices to choose from. Finally, Diana helped me decide on a two-sided pizza and a complementing beer choice. You see I was compelled visit after reading for years about Diana's amazing pizza's in Dan Kennedy's books and newsletters, I am happy to have had the opportunity to visit her wonderful Cucina and Lounge. I’m now plotting ways to travel back to Winnipeg from Toronto for chance to eat another pizza.

  • J E

I was a long time lover of Diana’s pizza and ordered frequently from them. Not sure if it is Covid or cutbacks, but the pizza I received tonight was just bad. It had hardly any sauce and almost no mozzarella. There were also crunchy things in it... maybe burnt herbs from there being no sauce or cheese??? It was awful. How is this award-winning quality? This was NOT quality. It ended up in the trash after we tried a piece. Most of what you think may be cheese in the pic is actually bare crust poking through the non-existent oven-dried sauce. It was so nasty. We won’t be ordering again.

  • Lisseth West

We often get their dough to make home made pizza at home and have taken the frozen pizza's to bake at home. We decided to eat at their restaurant the other day. The pizza's we order were amazing. We tried "Diana's Deluxe", "Havarti Heaven" and pepperoni they were amazing, The pepperoni was so loaded it was delicious. The peppers and vegetables on Diana's Deluxe were so flavourful... and Havarti Heaven really was excellent. Service was good. I wish we had not attended at the same time they had a paint night as we felt we had to be quiet to not disturb. However it was excellent!

  • Jacqueline Warner

Great but Inconsistent. We used to go there on Saturdays, and the pizza was always amazing. The two young gentlemen that worked there (Dirk and Paul I believe their names were) were fabulous and super helpful in helping us make up our minds. Now because the kids have sports, we can't come in on Saturday anymore, and even when we get the same pizzas, they just aren't the same quality. I am still leaving a 4 star review because Diana, you guys make excellent pizza, but if you are charging as much as you guys do, you should make sure that everyone knows how to do it right.

  • Monica Petkau

Had a couple of specialty pizza's from Diana's this evening for the first time. It was very tasty, with plenty of toppings and very filling. It was crazy busy there tonight due to a show of support to Diana and her business to not discriminate vaccinated vs non- vaccinated patrons. I respect her decision to not have to be the one to breach peoples personal health informationby by asking them these types of questions.Kudos for respecting the freedom to choose... She and her partner and 2 other staff did an incredible job! We'll be back

  • Michelle

We have eaten here several times and always had a great meal. Original flavours on their pizzas - ingredients are fresh and the combinations work very well. The pesto on the pizza was excellent. We started with some great BBQ chicken wings this time - meaty, juicy with just the right amount of sauce. Servers are friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. Lots of parking in this strip mall - easy to find in South St. Vital. We will definitely go again.

'Back in the day' when Diana's first opened at this location, I used to purchase their pizzas frequently, and one could say they were possibly the best pizzas in town. However, not anymore...last two times I bought their pizzas, including this Mother's Day, was very disappointed in the quality. They seem to want to cover the small portions of toppings with under cooked tomatoes on rubbery crusts. Truly not worth the price for what has become a mediocre product...too bad. Look elsewhere for your pizzas folks.

  • John

Quality ingredients, tried the reg white thin crust and moose head thin crust. Toppings were very generous and fresh. Crust had a nice chew to it and was perfectly cooked but the toppings were over powered by the sauce which I found to be a bit bitter and overwhelmed by oregano. On the plus side it wasn't greasy. Not disputing the quality, but the sauce just didn't do it for me. I've only tried the Canadian and the Hawaiian so I can't comment on the rest.

I will start this off by saying the pizza was so so good. I love that we were able to order two different kinds on one pizza. The service was okay and the restaurant and bathroom were clean. However, the wings we ordered as an appetizer took over half an hour to come out even though there were no other tables and were just before the pizza. They definitely were not worth the wait. They were very fatty with little meat. The flavour was okay. Would go back for pizza, only pizza.

We hired Diana’s to cater our wedding reception with a gourmet pizza buffet last summer and it was excellent! Diana was super helpful with setting up the order and always responded quickly to our emails. The delivery driver was excellent and very helpful setting up the pizza when he delivered. The pizza was awesome and all of the guests loved it! Thanks to Diana’s for helping to make our wedding reception a memorable evening!

Went there on Saturday night with my family for dinner. After seeing Diana compete on Guys Grocery Games my family wanted to try out her pizza's! Staff was very accommodating for us. The kids got to put their own toppings on their pizzas and they even had a very good, diary free cheese for my daughter (Vegan Buffalo Mozzarella). Nice atmosphere, great selection of pizza and beers and loved how there was a lot of items from local producers! Would eat here again!

  • Lisa Krampf

What a fabulous surprise in Winnipeg! We sure as heck didn't intend to go on vacay and eat pizza, but wow are we glad we found this place! (I mean we eat pizza at home when we're too tired to cook or go out...) so when someone said, "don't miss this place," we were like 'well...ok.' I am happy to report that we ordered the second time on our way out of town! Make sure to order the Sweet Spicy Divine Swine on a Moosehead Crust! THE BEST PIZZA WE’VE EVER HAD!!!

  • Jordan Ketterer

Service was fantastic, really nice charismatic server with good recommendations. My fiance and I had the pizza of the day, and we loved it. Great crust and terrific sauce, had ghost cheese, wish was good when it piping hot to our table but last few bits of the ghost cheese were not as tasty. Every topping seemed very fresh and hand made. The best Cesar salad I have had, good account if dressing and again fresh ingredients. We can't wait to eat here again!!

  • Lisa Xu

I was pretty skeptical when I saw the pizza week entry- the consent fries. Pickles and gravy? Not a good combo. But I still decided to give it a try. It blew my mind. The gravy and cheese melted in my mouth while the fries and pickles added to the chewiness and contrasting flavor. It is the strangest yet most unique pizza I've ever had. My mouth is watering right now as I write the review and thinking about the pizza. I would definitely buy it again.

Our party of 5 found ourselves here after a very bad experience at neighbouring restaurant Tito Boys. The lone waiter (owner?) was so kind & accommodating! The pizza & wings were excellent. Thank you Diana’s for salvaging a birthday celebration! We will be back!

Had their pizza not that long ago wasn't very good for the price paid. Very bland and tasteless. Also found out it's run by right wing conspiracy clowns, you know... the vitamins over vaccine kind. If you're a Canadian who listens to Fox News you'll probably love it there, but that won't change the taste of the food. Maybe they can throw in some extra vitamins or hydroxychloroquine for you. Doing that may change the flavor. I won't be back.

My family has been going to Diana's for years. The best pizza IMHO. Last year I was informed I had a gluten allergy and I thought I would never enjoy pizza again. Then I discovered Diana's Gluten-free dough! It has almost become a staple. Now she offers a Keto cauliflower crust and it is fantastic! Thank you for offering so many choices, and always researching the best ingredients. Your love of pizza shows in your products.

  • A C

I wish I could give no stars on this review. First time trying this pizza. Ordered a Big D’s Bodacious large pizza through Door Dash. One of the most horrible pizza’s Ive ever had. Came with a bag of chopped romaine lettuce, some of it was brown and a bag of cold sliced tomatoes that you have to put on. The ranch tasted funny. Not impressed what so ever. Definitely not an award winning gourmet pizza or worth the $35!

  • Edward de Wind

We tried one of their specialty pizzas and were pleasantly surprised. It was just as filling as it was flavourful. We wish we had found you sooner. Just amazing! Then to top it off they are exercising true equality without violating your rights and freedoms by keeping their dining area closed until ALL people are allowed to attend. Way to go and keep up the good work. This combat veteran could not be more pleased!

Amazing! I cannot eat dairy due to food allergy, and Diana’s was very accommodating to my allergies. Not only did they use vegan cheese on the pizza (which was delicious), but they also made sure not to put dairy in their crust The pizza was absolutely filled with fresh toppings and lots of meat. Best pizza I’ve had in a long time, I will be coming back!

I can’t believe I have never left a review here. I’ve been eating these pizzas for years. Very good. Last night I attended & witnessed the owner & staff deal with a very high stress & difficult evening due to abnormally high demand. Diana & her loyal staff handled this with grace & professionalism that can only be described as outstanding. Respect.

Diana the Owner was so very accommodating, very friendly, hospitable, & so caring especially to my family. My kids still rave about her pizza!! I wish we could have stayed longer, but the kids had to go sleep time! I highly recommend this place to anyone that just needs a good experience. Come eat here!!

Ordered from here for the first time ever this evening. Disappointed, to say the least. Got the Gourmet Hawaiian. It showed up lukewarm. The cheese was hard to find, much less taste. Best pizza in town? Not even close! Paid over $40.......it was a $12 pizza at best. Won't be ordering from Diana's again.

  • Heather Ficzere

We enjoy ordering pizza from Diana's because we know the quality of the ingredients are excellent. Great variety of pizza and salads and wings! The vegan cheese is amazing and tastes great. Staff are amazing and we have had the privilege of meeting Diana...so passionate about what she does.

Went here because of a rave review for the Gluten free pizza. Ordered it, got it home and its honestly tasteless. Asked for extra sauce and i cant taste or even see any. If it was at least cheap i couldve written it off but it was $33. Id rather have gone to a chain at this point.

It's tasty pizza. The ratio of cheese to meat is perfect. But, it's quite greasy, and far too salty. Best pizza in the neighbourhood. But, there's better, less expensive pizza joints in Winnipeg.
