My best friend moved from OH to NC and I’m in SC so we met up to have a family day! Our party of people consisted of my best friend, her husband, their 4 month old, mysef, my husband, our 2 daughters (10 & 4), and my best friend’s parents. We spent about 5 hours at Discovery Place. My husband is in a wheelchair and we had no issues with getting handicap parking, the parking garage and entire facility are wheelchair accessible. There were tons of hands on activities for the kids to do. There’s really no rhyme or reason to the layout. It’s all just an open area and you can freely go from one to another. It was a little crowded so we did have to wait for some of the interactive exhibits but not too bad. The rainforest is a great experience and allows you to really immerse into the experience. The rainforest is accessible from the 1st and 2nd floor. The 3rd floor wasn’t the greatest but by the time you get there, you’re wiped out anyways. This is definitely a museum that will take hours so be prepared to make a day of it. By the time we got to the 2nd floor and the kids did all those activities, we didn’t have much time before they closed to do the Top Secret crime section but we did as much as we could do. We went on Saturday 3/4/23 and they opened at like 10:30 and closed at 4:30 and you could easily take up that entire time in there as there is so much for the kids to see and do. What I was not happy with was the prices of the gift shop. I’m aware prices at museums/tourist attractions are always a little more pricey BUT usually, the prices are still reasonable. My daughter was going to get a sloth stuffed animal and it was a small stuffed animal (approximately 10” in height” and they wanted $41 for it. The super small stuffed animals were $20. That’s insane. Waters are approximately $3.50-$4 per bottled water however, they allow you to bring outside drinks in (from what I could tell) so it may be beneficial (especially if you’re taking kids) to bring a small cooler or book bag with some bottled waters for the day. My best friend bought a stuffed animal, a stress squeeze ball and 3 bead bracelets for $90. The squeeze stress ball exploded about 5 minutes after leaving the gift shop (while we were walking around) and we took it back to the shop and asked if we could get another one and they said “sorry, we don’t do refunds or exchanges”. Considering the museum offers discounted prices for people with WIC and/or EBT, you’d think they’d have a little more affordable prices in their gift shop. My 10 year old decided she wasn’t paying and wasn’t allowing me to pay $41 for a stuffed animal she could get on Amazon for more than 1/2 the price. She did buy a small crystal animal keepsake and it was $11. Aside from that, everything else was great. If you purchase tickets online, it’s cheaper. For 2 adults and 2 children tickets (purchased online), it was $85 and we parked in the parking garage and paid for parking inside the museum for a discounted rate too ($14 to park all day if you pay inside the museum). We didn’t know it was cheaper to buy tickets online but they have a QR code right by the front door and you can stand to the side and purchase your tickets right there and save $3-4 bucks per ticket that way! Overall, I’d go again but I’d definitely be more prepared and take our own drinks and not plan to buy anything in their gift shop.

I went here with my family on a Saturday and it was extremely busy. Both of my sons, ages 1.5 and 4.5, really enjoyed themselves. We were there for a little over 4 hours and it was time well spent. The hands on exhibits were really nice and educational. Some exhibits were a little more popular than others, so there were lines, which was fine. However, done kids weren’t being supervised so they were skipping the line which was incredibly frustrating for a toddler who was waiting patiently for his turn. Considering some people just let their children run wild with little to no supervision here, it would be nice if some of the more popular exhibits had “attendants” to try and keep things orderly and fair. There’s an area for little kids specifically, which both of my kids loved and would’ve stayed in for hours had we met them. The second floor had most of the “cool stuff” which we almost missed out on because we didn’t realize we had to take a special elevator to get to it. Would’ve been helpful if the people at the front desk told us that, but fortunately, we discovered it on our own. The small aquarium was ok even with some of the sea creatures being a bit shy, one of which seemed hungry. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The exhibits were mostly in good condition with the exception of a few that could’ve used some tending to, and it was really fun for my children and I. I would definitely recommend this to parents with kids of all ages. Even people without kids would enjoy themselves here.

IDEAL hands-on learning experience for both parents and kids. My husband and i brought our four-month-old to Discovery place this week (ok we enjoyed the science more than she did) and spent four hours enjoying the exhibits. As a parent who appreciates learning opportunities, this place is possibly even more satisfying for us! Lol The amount of time your trip takes is really just dependent on how much time you allocate to reading the information in each exhibit. I always enjoyed science and history, but truth be told — there was a lot of interesting information to learn here for adults too. The museum as a whole is incredibly diverse. From rooms dedicated to the nervous system, to paleontology, to phytoplankton, there is so much to absorb. Many exhibits have interactive elements, hands-on experiments, and video clips to explain AND make science appealing to children. *Yelper insight* — make sure to visit during an IMAX showing time! The dome theater is a one of a kind experience for babies to elderly. All in all — will be taking my kids here as they get older! Great experience.

This is a fun place to go to. From looking at neat science stuff to playing a game about space, this place is full of stuff that will make you have a great time. What I really came here for was astronomy. However the moon stuff was a little to complicated for me. Another problem is that someone probably moved a bit too much that they threw up in the toilet. I’m not kidding. I’ll show proof but blur it since it’s disgusting. Other than that the rainforest area was cool, as well as the aquarium and the life stuff. We didn’t realize there was 3 floors so we almost missed one but in my honest opinion it was meh. Just some random robotics or building stuff. You could make music up there though. There is this technology thingy that you can use and it’s about a skeleton. And at the cool stuff area they have cool stuff. There is like a slingshot and some kind of machine next to the slingshot. There are 2 machines. The air chair and whatever the other one is called. I rate this a 5/5. I would come back but I would not like to see vomit.

*TEACHERS BEWARE * If you are a teacher planning a field trip look elsewhere and save yourself the trouble of dealing with the field trip planning department. I interacted with 3 separate employees multiple times each who all had terrible communication response times and sometimes they just never replied at all. Due to a failure to respond to my multiple inquiries about bus parking during the weeks leading up to our trip our school incurred fees that the museum is now refusing to take any responsibility for. From a planning perspective, it has been a nightmare dealing with them. The actual museum itself is really nice and all of the employees I interacted with onsite were friendly and helpful, so if you don't have to try and plan a field trip there it should be a good experience.

Plans got canceled so I had to find an alternative. We frequented Discovery Place Science several times years ago. This was my first visit since the pandemic started. The place was clean and I seen sanitizer stations throughout the exhibits. It is a bit runned down with things missing from interactive exhibits but the kids didn’t mind at all. We also had a chance to sit in on a science show called Will it glow? The host wasn’t as enthusiastic as I’ve seen others but i still learned so much. My favorite part would have to be the newest installment of the exhibit Unseen Oceans. Still a wonderful place to visit if you never been. They do have the WELCOME program. If you have a EBT/PEBT or WiC, you get your tickets for $2 and your parking for $8. These tickets can be purchased online as well.

I would have liked to rate this place higher but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations which I had after visiting the website and pictures. The line to buy tickets was quite long, even the line for people who bought tickets in advance. It was very crowded and hot. This place had some very interesting exhibits but unfortunately since it was so crowded it was hard for my granddaughter who is 6 year's old to get close enough to them to enjoy it. There were only a few actual interactive exhibits and I was expecting much more. Again, even those exhibits were so crowded. Some of the exhibits were amazing and beautiful. Perhaps if I could come at a time that it's not as crowded ( not sure when that is) it might be more enjoyable for my granddaughter.

Discover was the second-best attraction in Charlotte after Nascar based on our experience. This place has good exhibits and unseen ocean (an excellent creativity) was one of the best experiences we had. There is special area for kids and multiple simulators are also available. Rain forest was also very good. If you are visiting, please buy tickets online as it is lesser priced compared to tickets brought from this place. IMAX was also a good experience. There are limited IMAX shows and please check the timings before your visit, so that you will not miss the show. This is a place for all ages, especially kids. Restroom facility is also available. Customer service needs special mention and the staff here are very helpful.

Decided to bring my son here for his birthday.. I've been to a couple of discovery science places and this by far was the worst one I've experienced.. I feel it needs to do a revamp the experience and price you pay don't add up.. some of the activities in the cool stuff section weren't even working at all.. the aquarium was ok the rainforest was cool for what it was. The education facilities were neat to have but all were empty for the most part.. they need to fix how you buy tickets online.. we waited 25 minutes to get in bc of how slow the person at the front had to look up numbers scan your phone .. could be better and faster . Didn't do iMax but iMax will always be king of theater's

Went to the marvel experience. This is a little out of pocket price wise. The Marvel thing was just costumes. Not exactly what I expected. It was $100 just for 2 of us with no membership. The membership is about the same. Having been to a good amount of science centers. This one doesn’t have much. It’s not really that engaging. The former teacher in me wonders how this would keep kids attention for more than 30 seconds. This place is alright but needs to upgrade. I do like the different environment sections. It DOES have some fun stuff. Just saying that for the amount and space available I was thinking more would be there. If you have kids - you’ll still enjoy it

The staff here are so friendly and full of knowledge! Flipper the penguin especially enjoyed the science shows and activities on the second floor, we even signed up for a membership so we can visit the birds in the rainforest all the time now! We recommend buying/reserving your tickets in advance though cause it’s cheaper and we got checked in super fast! Do remember to bring your parking pass inside so you can get the discounted parking price too! The iMAX movies are an additional cost so we will see one of those another day, but we really enjoyed the rest of the museum!

We visited Discovery Place Science 2 times in the last two weeks with our grade school grandsons. The Marvel Exhibit was mainly focused on teenagers and adults - though they still enjoyed it. We were very disappointed in 2 of your labs - Thinker Space and Explore More Future. Most of the stations were either "not working", "out of material" and some staff didn't seem interested in helping. Upon departing your parking lot on one of the visits, the attendant was focused on his smart phone and did not see us pull up. We had to knock on the window to get his attention and exit.

This place is decrepit and needs a massive overhaul. How does the biggest city in the state have the worst museum? The Greensboro Science Museum is 100x better. All of the exhibits are the same from when I was a kid in the early 90s, except broken with fewer exhibits. It is embarrassing to bring my child here. Anything worth doing cost extra, and the museum is already overpriced. It is a total waste of money and time. What a shame. Charlotte deserves a better science, zoo, aquarium, kids museum. Who funds this museum? How can we fix this?

I used to love going to Discovery Place. I was so disappointed. It was not taken care of over the years. Many of the exhibits were broken. Then my daughter and I went into an area where you could make things using this 3d pencil thing and we stood in there for like 10 minutes while a lady walked around helping one lady with her 2 young children without acknowledging us once. So, we left and came back and a guy helped us but it closes earlier than the rest of the museum so we literally had 10 minutes. I won’t go back, except to the imax. Don’t waste your money.

Growing up in Charlotte, Discovery Place holds a piece of my childhood heart for all of the memories. Today was no different as I brought my son with his Grandfather for the Marvel exhibit they’re holding. The staff was wonderful and informative and facilities were excellent. The exhibits were immersive and I can not speak highly enough of the Marvel adventure. So well put together and amazing to see the authentic costumes, original artworks, and detailed props. An amazing afternoon spent walking through Discovery Place!

Was a horrible experience for my self and my family. It wasn't necessarily the place it was more the fact that everyone kept staring at my child who has severe autism is non verbal and communicates his frustration by screaming. I almost lost it several times because people just kept staring. Was very unwelcoming and I know that my child looks outwardly normal but he isn't and you'd think other people with children with disabilities would be more understanding since there were several but no, they just looked at me like I had some out of control kid.

This is a big place with lot of information for kids and adults related to science. It’s a well maintained property and surely families with kids can spend nice 2-3 hours. This place has lot to offer which can keep young as well as big kids engaged. You need to pay for parking which you can buy online and show at the entrance desk or you can directly buy at the entrance desk. They have Imax for you to watch movies related to science and fiction. Inside you will also find a little rain forest.I definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic place to bring kids to explore everything from the rainforest to engineering. I highly recommend getting the annual pass if you're local, as you can get in an hour earlier, and there is no way you can explore the whole place in one visit. I have been a couple times, and I just discovered the 2nd floor with a building workshop and a massive collection of Lego bricks to just build with, along with interactive exhibits on architecture and design. It's fun for kids, and parents will have a bit of fun as well.

Amazing place for kids and adults are bound to learn something too. We always spend the ride home talking about different things we saw. This place really gets the wheels turning in their young minds. I wish and hope that all kids have the opportunity to visit a place like this. Staff is always phenomenal with the kids, and allow them to be kids and explore in their own way. They have nature exhibits, marine life, physics, human body, history with dinosaur right now, and so much more. Worth every dime of admission. I honestly saw my daughter interact more here than she did at Disney World.

  • Pearl Paradise

We had a blast here! From 10am-4pm closing there was so much to do! They also have events/shows throughout the day so they make announcements to make sure everyone gets a chance to experience it! The food here was also delicious I got a burger with fries and my kids got pizza. The parfait and banana nut bread OMG!! Soooo good! They also have a parking lot behind the place 12$ to park! We saw a movie the screen was from the bottom through the ceiling and all around! It was beautiful great picture and story line we watched the wilderness! We will totally come back if we are staying in town!

  • Paul Osipoff

I was in this place 10 yrars ago and expected to see a lot of improvements, new areas and attractions. However, I even found thar they removed a lot of equipment and left empty areas for just wandering around. Admission was high, lines are long on a workday, staff are teenagers that dont care. Equipment is broken sometimes and outdated. Rooms with the insects and fishes are empty or display just several animals. Rainforest has coouple of parrots and birds. It was horrible experience.

I've been coming here since I was Young on field trips. I've always enjoyed it. When I got older I started bringing my children here. We always had a blast. Yesterday we went for the first time in a long time and I have to say I was disappointed. All four of my kids were bored within a half hour of getting there. It just doesn't seem the same. Cuba was their exhibit and you had to pay more to get into it. If you didn't then you were left with only half the museum to enjoy. I must say my family and I won't be back. Goodbye Discovery Place. It was fun when it was fun.

  • Satira Labib

I've been here multiple times with my children. It is definitely geared more to an older child. We really like it here but compared to other science museums I've been to I just don't feel like it has enough. It's always really clean though and the staff are always helpful. We came to see the Apollo exhibit while it was here. That's a tiny aquarium. Lots of physics/simple machines for kids to test. Learn about the body. Indoor rainforest.

We visited Discovery Place Science recently with our 4 oldest grandchildren, ages 10, 12, 14, with some doubt as to whether they would be too old for the exhibits. I'm not sure why we were worried. They absolutely loved it. There were plenty of interactive exhibits and lots of exhibits with live animals. On the day we were there, there was a Marvel exhibit, which was fun for us older guys as well as the kids. We will definitely go back.

Great place to spend time as a family. Educational and fun for people of ALL ages as you are never too old to learn something new and have fun while learning it. Great hands-on exhibits that are fully functional and not in need of repair. Staff is pleasant and helpful. There is something of interest in science for everyone to explore and enjoy. The last time I brought my family here, my son was 12 years old. Today he is 26 and we had just as much fun today as we did years ago. Highly recommend, especially if you have inquisitive children.

  • Brian

A great fun way to spend the afternoon with kids in Charlotte. The staff are friendly and willing to answer kid's questions. There are lots of hands-on interactive exhibits that allow children to learn and had fun at the same time. My 10 year old loved trying everything out and would ask questions after trying one of the hands-on experiences...she learned a lot. They also have staff led demonstrations with things like liquid nitrogen that she found absolutely facilitating. Highly recommend if you are in the Charlotte area with children.

Our family visited this location back in April. It was a friend of ours idea as it was her toddlers birthday weekend and this is where she wanted to go. I have an 11 and 12 year old who also enjoyed it very much. The reptiles were very cool. There was a room where you were able to put tons of things under a microscope and even the adults enjoyed that room. It's a really cute place and we all enjoyed our time.

What a wonderful place for families to play and learn. Three stories with plenty of animals, games and interactive activities for kids of all ages. Plenty of things to do and see. We had a great time specially on a rainy day and spent hours there. They also have the Dome Imax theater next door with the largest screen around and unique movie watching experience. Make sure to get your tickets online to save some money. You can do it day of as well, so no need for planning. Go by yourself, with your kids or friends and have fun!

I really liked the place it had a lot to offer but the staff is very delusional. They told me that I needed to have my wristbands on but you cannot put your wrist band in the water where the fish is so you. Can't have it on if you want to see the Marvel You can't put your hand in the water because it has the stamp for the marble that will contaminat the water and it Only makes it more where you can't put it on they buged me endlessly until I left. Instead of saying ok I see them yall have fun we wasn't causing any problems

  • Miss Taylor

This was our first time visiting the museum for a special exhibit. There were numerous homeless people encamped around the building which wasn't a major issue( it's unfortunately a part of most big cities) until a homeless man aggressively approached my child and I (unprovoked) and started saying profanity towards us. A frightening, teachable encounter/learning experience.

Our six year old really enjoyed her visit on her birthday. We were pleased with the large variety of exhibits that were suited to children of all ages, even the grownups! It was really great to see the mindfulness exhibit with a lot of education on mental health, and opportunities to find some peace and quiet after some of the chaos! The RainForest exhibit was my personal favorite. I would have loved to spend more time trying to find the colorful birds in the canopy.

  • Daniel Boyce

Amazing atmosphere for all ages. The kids (2-4 yrs old) loved the aquarium and live feeding tour along with the kids education and play area. We enjoyed the level of detail and personalized approach the staff takes toward each family. The facility was very well designed to capture the kids attention and there was a lot for both parents and children to both do. Definitely worth the annual membership to all three museums as well since each has its own unique dynamic.

  • Jessica Woods (SincerelyBluu)

I expected there to be interactive exhibits, but more than half of the place is interactive! Better than expected! The only other science museum I've been to had a lot more room to work with, but for the space they have this museum packs itself with things that are able to draw attention, are interactive and actually teach cool stuff, even things that many adults probably don't know! My favorite part, though, was this enthusiastic guy with an electro ball!

  • R.R.

I had no idea what to expect, but this little place was the kid’s favorite during the vacation. Even the adults enjoyed it! It's very interactive so it will keep everyone busy. We went through the week, so it was easy to navigate, no crowds, no lines. We didn't get to the bottom floor, so we’ll check it out when we visit next time.

Could use some TLC in the young kids area. It was missing the paddles for the sound area, only had 1 scarf for the aerodynamic tubes, had a box of 5 legos, the car racing area had enough stuff in the box to make only 1 car. Just lots of empty spots where stuff should have been. Upstairs the big windmill you turn at the table needs to be adjusted it doesn't blow at the other windmill irregardless how fast you turn it..I could keep going on.

I loved this museum. Parking desk is next to the museum making it convenient. The museum offers so many hands on activities for children of all ages. I've been coming here for a long time and my kids (who range from ages 1 to 11) still find it entertaining. This was my 1st time coming with my youngest (of 6) who is 1 and he had a fantastic time. I also love the location because when we finish up we can just walk down the street to the square and take our pick of places to eat.

We showed up with only an hour left to explore , luckily, all we had to do was show our wristbands and the next day we could still have all day access which I thought was great. The Davinci exhibit was amazing. I do wish the kids there were more respectful and timed on their activities or something. The children we rude, but the discovery Place science is an amazing place to go that's always fun and full of surprises.

This is such a fun and creative Museum! It is very interactive and a great place to bring your children for a day! Each interactive station has aboard explaining the station and what it does! There's a very cool rainforest section with parrots and other birds and an aquarium downstairs which is small but very interesting. They also have a very nice gift shop with a cool selection! Would definitely come back again!

I have no kids and didn’t go with kids lol. My boyfriend and I went and had a lot of fun. There is an aquarium area where you’re able to touch the star fish. For the price, you can’t beat it. If you’re looking for something different to explore in Charlotte during the day on the weekend, it’s super interactive for all ages. Go do it! Also that picture of me is 5lbs of fat (right) vs 5 lbs of muscle(left)

Very pricey for the MARVEL Exhibit, but we decided to pay, and boy, was it THIS close to being worth it. They don’t let you re-enter, so do what you need before going in. Overall, I grew up going here, so call my bias, but I love this place.

We took our 8 month old and we absolutely loved it. He was. bit young for some of the things there but he still had a great time. So much to do there. Honestly, I would even go there without kids. The entire family can enjoy this museum!

For kids to learn through experience, this place is superb. Initially I was underwhelmed. The live stock and life exhibitions are limited. However all the activities to get kids involved in makes up for any life exhibits. From biology, physics, chemistry to geology, kids can experience these science through play and experiment. Give yourself several hours.

  • Emily Hall

If you want to spend $100 and have half the exhibits say this, then by all means, go do it. Honestly this was such a waste of time and money. We did everything the was working within an hour. Plus, so many kids from summer camps that were rude and cutting in line in front of our daughter. Not the best experience. Do better Discovery Place Science Center.

  • Courtney

Stopped in for a date without the kids. It was cute but honestly I thought it was a bit over priced since there wasn’t much to do in it and many of the machines/toys were broken. It’s a neat thing to do at least once. Parking is in the parking garage right passed the entrance. If you’re in a large truck, you may have some issues finding a place to park.

  • Kat Pittman

We went for a work retreat and I was really impressed. Lots of great exhibits! Could have spent all day here. Parking in the garage is located across the street, which can be easy to miss depending on which navigation app you use. Cafe onsite and plenty of restaurants located within walking distance.

Some of the exhibitions were closed, but the animals and rain forest exhibition were nice. They have a place where you can sit and order food, they have nice healthy options which is nice. The turkado sandwich was really good.

There are 3 floors, but we went on a Saturday and almost every square inch of the place was crowded. What makes it unique as opposed to any random Science museum is that they have a pretty decent sized rain forest "theater" and aquarium. The store was a bit expensive, but the entrance at $24 was a fair price for a couple of hours of engaging fun.

  • Susan Whittington

This was the best Science Museum I have ever been to. It has really cool activities for all age children. The live animal encounter, using microscopes to learn about the human body and animals were fascinating for our kids. They loved the building and design area, water play, etc. We had lunch there and the food was reasonably priced and tasty.

  • Billy Chanthilack

It's a wonderful experience for all ages. So much changes along the way, since I've been there. Love the atmosphere and the multi-level they have to explore. You can get to feel and things to do while you there. Also the IMAX dome theater will have you floating in the cloud. The mini rain forest and aquarium have a good viewing to enjoy.

  • amber stacy

My son and i had a great time, he enjoyed every single exhibit! The only reason its rated 4 stars is the cafe on the first floor. They were EXTREMELY rude after they forgot something on my order and i corrected it. Also the frizzy red haired girl "maggie" was picking her nose, food was delicious but that made me lose my appetite.

  • Rene Casas

Perfect for your kids! This is a very interactive museum . I love the setup, and how can you engage with the public. The Marvel exhibit was very good and rich in information and items from the movies. Military discounts are available.

We loved this place! There were many interesting hands on exhibits to make science fund and exciting for kids. My 3 1/2 year old son really enjoyed it. You have to buy your tickets in advance. You can get. 10% discount if you sign up for their News letter. Follow the directions for parking validation or else you’d pay $22.

  • Eileen Bright

This place is awesome and the traveling exhibits keep it fresh and new. The IMAX shows are an added plus. I was also very pleased with the cafe food- high quality and the pager we were given let us browse around while the food was prepared. Loved the interactive exhibits that made the day both fun and educational.

  • Will Matthews

Loved first floor of natural sciences. Good place to improve ecological literacy. Explanation of producers and different level of consumers and interplay of humans’ actions and species survival. Good place to learn foundation of why we need more habitat for pollinators and less manicured chemical enhanced yards.

  • Liv H

Probably one of the best days that we have had as a family! Anyone with children will enjoy all the activities and experiments that are offered all day each day. My daughters, as well as my husband and my mother, had an amazing time! The tickets are reasonably priced and there are free days for visitors monthly.

  • V Cormier

Awesome place I take my kids to almost every week! Have a member pass so it’s worth it. My only complaint would be that I wish they disinfected the kids toys more than once a week, especially during flu season. But there’s always friendly staff and someone coming around to check on things on the kids water room!

  • Leek L

A little pricey! I paid $45 & $17 for parking for a toddler and one adult. They do have 3 levels of attractions. I believe this is geared more toward older kids. I don't think it was worth the price. However, it's a pretty cool place with several unique areas!

Nice museum. Went with a preschool class. Not as big as some of the others I’ve been to in Columbia, SC and Raleigh. I probably would not buy a membership to this one due to that reason.

Great place for kids, so much to do and see. A lil' pricey for 2 adults and 2 kids (like $178), but you can stay there for hours. We saw the Marvel exhibit and were not disappointed.

Changing my previous review. Discovery place has put the science stuff back and it perfectly coexists with the marvel exhibit. It's back to being a great science center again. We found a membership to be totally worth it because we'll go to Discovery Place Science, Kids, or Nature every few weeks.

  • Tommy 1 Santiago

Its a great place for you to learn about animals and birds. Also there is a sección where you can see the human organs and muscles. This place has a place for little children for them to be entertained.

We absolutely love discovery place! We try to go every month. The T-Rex exhibit was really nice and my daughter really enjoyed it. It was completely worth the small extra fee. We always pack a lunch to eat in the courtyard by the Church but there is a nice cafe with pretty good food.

  • Kathryn ragno

What a great place, so much variety of things for kids to do. They had the Rain Forrest exhibit, which was really good. Quick tip - buy the tickets in advance to avoid the long line waiting to buy. If you forget, there is a QR code on the front door to buy while you are there.

  • Matthew Cloues

Wonderful science museum that kids love but is fun for adults too. Aside from being fun, it is also great for learning. It also features a full IMAX theater. Membership for a year is fairly inexpensive and definitely the way to go if you plan to visit a couple of times a year.

  • Roselle Sherriff

This museum is hands on and is incredibly kid friendly. You can literally spend an entire day exploring the different activities. The only downside is that the cafe was very limited and there were a lot of "add-ons" that we paid for that didn't seem worth the extra cost.

Amazing place for kids, my daughter absolutely loved it on a rainy day. Petting the starfish was pretty cool but all the crafts and stuff is really what we enjoyed the most. The fish tanks were pretty cool too, never seen a jellyfish tank before #NewLifGooal

We thoroughly enjoyed the show in the IMAX THEATER tonight. It was a music & light show called BEAUTIFICA. Worth every penny. The reason for the 4* is that the LADIES ROOM has only 2 stalls!!! All those people and 2 stalls?? The line was ridiculous.

The exhibits were pretty cool and very hands on. The kids loved it. Pretty spacious and lots of different things to see/do. I feel like the price tag isn't worth it for the adults specifically but I think it's cool they offer discounts for EBT.

  • Ashlea Calgin

Discovery Place is and always will be AWESOME! I've been going here since I was a child, and now I have the opportunity to take my own kids. I'd give them 5 stars, but we were kind of saddened that we couldn't afford to see the IMAX movies

Summary: A wonderful and fun place for kids to play and explore! Pro tip: museum is not too busy during the week int he afternoon. Buying tickets online is convenient and you save a little on the parking garage fee ($3) if you buy that

Loved all the hands on experiences available! Had my own spray hand sanitizer but they have some all over the place and have designated cleaning times for the kids area. We got to see a presentation on dry ice which was super cool.

Very educational. My husband and I spent a few hours here. It is really informative and contains more activities than the average kids museum. Definitely was impressed. My favorite part was definitely the rain forest.
