Insta: melbfoodie_mark YT: MelbFoodieMark ** Check them out for more food reviews in Melbourne! - "Dosirock" means "lunch box" in Korean - kinda cute but ironic considering how most customers visit to grab soju with friends. Dosirock is known for their signature "Korean Pork Hock Plate" which includes heaps of banchan and spicy buckwheat noodles. We chose "Hot" and "Garlic" flavours with "Oyster Pancake" as a side. Overall, I loved it here and probably best Korean pork hock I had in Melbourne. Large size (~$40) was big enough to feed 4 & diced pork hock was cooked perfectly - slightly chewy outside but soft and succulent inside. Soju went really well together as it washed down the oilness in your mouth (Pleasantly dangerous as I wanted to drink more and more lol). Spicy buckwheat noodles were also flavoursome and refreshing which complemented the pork hock beautifully. Unfortunately, oyster pancake wasn't that great - sub par. I'd love to try their soy pork belly next time!
The food is 10 out of 10 except the level 2 is already burning hot for us... The best thing was, I asked the waitress to order the rockmelon dessert for us, but instead of cutting all the rockmelon pieces into balls, we want particular one piece to be cut bigger for our 7 months old boy to chew. The waitress probably didn’t understand what I mean, she checked with the kitchen and said they cannot sell like that. I said that’s fine just place the order. She was the only waitress there and she might forget to put the order in for us. We waited for a while and then double checked with the manager if we had our dessert ordered. Unfortunately it was not there. We decided to leave it and wrap up to go. Before we left the manager passed us a container of rockmelon. He said that’s for our baby. I thought that was so kind of him! It’s 100% five star for this place!
We visited this shop a couple of months ago and I kept forgetting to leave a review. The food was unforgettable and delicious. They serve all the typical Korean dishes that you can think of and the shop is always full of Korean customers. You kinda know that a place is good when the locals visit it often. We order the stew and a couple of soup and noodles. The portion was decent size and the ingredient was fresh and tasty. The best part is the ambient. Each table is quite small and with crowd, the whole place is quite cozy and packed. It feels like having street food at Korea. They serve Soju and such too and played Korean music in the background. I love the vide there and would definitely recommend a visit.

Definitely have become my favourite place to go to for bossam and jokbal. It was so delicious and so rich in flavors. I ordered the soy pork belly and the spicy pork hock and I would highly recommend it. The spicy pork hot was deliciously spicy and super tender. The soy pork belly was a bit cold but overall really delicious. The sauces that came with it was also super delicious and went really well with the meat. The Korean buckwheat noodle that we ordered as an extra was also really delicious The melon bingsu was quite sweet and had a lot of ice cream below the melon bits, while there were very little shaved ice. I wish there was more but overall, a good balance to ease out the spiciness from the spicy pork hock. Will definitely be going back for more.
I already ate this evenings. I just ordered one crispy chicken dish, one pork belly dish and one bottle of soju. It taste is normal not delicious but still eatable. However, when I check the bill, this meal cost 121$. It was very expensive for me. Moreover, I check the receipt and found that waitress key my order wrong. First, I ordered for hot and spicy. But it was normal. Second, I ordered for Size M dish and they key size L. That’s why this cost 120$. So, on this review, I am not recommend this type of restaurant to any people who want a good, reasonable and delicious meal. Sorry for a strong complaint but in customer’s view, you deserve it.

The friendliest service and a very generous portion for great prices. Between a group of four we ordered: - Garlic Hock Very tender pork with a punch of flavour from the garlic and great complementary dressings. - Buckwheat noodles A $10 add on with the pork hock, it was a massive bowl of buckwheat noodles, veggies, egg and tofu. Absolutely flavourful and delicious - Half chicken (soy garlic) Loved the soy garlic chicken, flavourful, not too sweet and tender chicken Note. Only con to the chickens, they aren't served boneless - Half chicken (original) The classic original fried chicken taste. Tender chicken in a very crunchy batter

Dosirock is a specialist of Korean pork hock and pork belly. I ordered mixed platter of spicy pork hock and original pork belly. Food are well prepare and well cook. Meat still tender and juicy, unlike other shop that will just grab a cold piece of meat sliced and serve. The only reason i gave 4 star is because the shop could use lot more cleaning but i understand of how understaffed food industry is in these day. Overall Dosirock is a good restaurant for Korean street food with reasonable price and portion size.

Late night Korean food craving? Dosirock comes to the rescue. Last order is at 130am if I'm not mistaken. My friend did the ordering so most dishes' names evade me. However trust me when I say that the food is delicious. Fried chicken is tender and juicy, with a crisped and light batter. The pork knuckle dish is succulent and flavourful, as was the other pork dish (please forgive my ignorance). Kimchi seafood pancake and the cold noodle dish did a good job of balancing out the overwhelmingly meaty meal. Pretty sure we ordered a stew, probably the army stew, but I was too stuffed to try that. Great place for a Korean feast.
Who claimed that the hock here is delicious? The recommended fried hock was incredibly tough, chewy, and consisted of very small pieces that resembled off-cut food. It felt like chewing on rubber, and it gave me a stomachache all night. It didn't seem fresh at all due to its strong odor, and the extra paid noodles were soggy and too short, hardly resembling noodles. Moreover, there were too many vegetables compared to the noodles. I regret choosing this restaurant immensely.

We randomly picked Dosirock after getting slightly overwhelmed by the Korean food options in the neighborhood. Their specialties, jokbal (pig's trotters) and bossam (pork belly), did not disappoint as they were perfectly cooked and generously portioned! As four people, we could barely finish a medium-sized half and half. There are other non-pork options available. Kudos to their prompt service and friendly staff too

A busy little restaurant. The deep fried chicken was, as expected, delicious. The half and half Hock was nice, but we found it really oily. The noodles were so good and wanted more. The staff are really friendly. We didn't have to wait to get in, but a line was forming later in the night. The turnaround time is quick and we didn't have to wait long for our order. We would definitely go back to try other items on the menu.

Went there for dinner with a friend. Flavours are good but really slow service. We had to ring the bell 4 times in order to get attention of the wait staff. Our food came out after 45 mins and 1 dish after an interval of 10 to 15 mins. The tables weren't clean. No complains with the food. Tastes great but really bad service and wait time (especially when you are really hungry). I guess it's the inevitable under staffing hospitality issues.

Great place for drinking and eating! Dosirock serves delicious pork hock with generous serving sizes. Definitely a place to try when you’re feeling like a big meal. My favourite dishes are the original hock which comes with sides and vegetables to wrap and the seafood udon.

I liked the atmosphere but the food was OK. I liked the spicy pork. But the rest of the food was just OK. The plain rice was a bit undercooked and didn't taste too well. Even Uncle Rogers would have cried if he saw a Korean restaurant fail in cooking simple rice.

They have good Jokbal (Hock) and Porkbelly in Melbourne. Mostly I satisfied both but porkbelly (with garlic sauce) was better than spicy hock at this time because spicy lv2 that I chose was not spicy at all. If you expect more spicy one, you should order the highest level here. I can’t believe that Korean thick buckwheat noodle is only $10 as a side dish. It has large portion and tasty!

Small, secluded and a stone away from the famous Korean lane. This place seem to pride itself with their pork Hock and pork belly dish based on the extensive selection that they have. We are quite please with both of them as they are tender, not too porky so we can eat a lot without feeling sick. The white Spicy Seafood Soup also highly recommended. Hearty and packed full of flavours. Food - 8 Service - 7 Vibe - 7 Price - $$$
A great Korean night eatery ❤️ We ordered 1 spicy hock and 1 pork belly soup, which tastes superbly The portion is generous and ideal for groups of 2-3+ people. Even better to order with rice wine!!!

The pork belly was delicious but the spicy sauce was too overwhelming in that it wasn't that spicy but it was too saucy. I will get the herb or original belly next time. Due to covid they are understaffed with only 1 waiter when I had dinner so it's understandable there's going to be a delay in everything. Overall the food was good but there's always room for improvement.

Recommend to book as we waited 45 mins (Group of 4) on a Friday night. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and the food is decently priced. The pork hock although a bit fatty was simply delicious and recommend going half/half with the pork belly! Warm, conforting food that compliments well with soju. Staff were just chill like that.

Visited Friday night. I am sorry but this is the only Korean restaurant with lowest hygiene and cleanliness standards that I have visited so far. Things are every where, kitchen looks messy and untidy. Provided feedback to chef about the food and hope they'll step up their game. I am not really sure how other people are rating 5 star!! Customer Service - 4/5 Ambience - 0/5 Cleanliness - 0/5 Food - 1/5
A great little gem of a Korean restaurant, especially great for dinner and supper since they open until late. The staff Jun in particular was fantastic in his service. Foods were also amazing with reasonable price tags.

Dosirock has been my favorite restaurant for 4 years. This week, when they has been making a mistake like lets us wait for an hour and no food came, except the noodle. And today, we go back there for a second time, they are apologise us again, and giving us free drinks. The taste still remain good everytime we come to eat, and I love the way they treat customers with respect. ❤ Thank you
Great Korean food, especially if you want to truly get to taste the dishes of Korea. Tad expensive but steamed pork and taco wasabi make up for it. Sometimes can get too hot inside. Sometimes staff arent as attentive as possible but the manager is a great guy who always apologises and tries to make the experience better. Great place to relax as a group and share some food.
Still had a queue on Saturday midnight The seafood pancake with cheese is the best Korean pancake I’ve ever had!! Spicy pork tasted much better than the butter flavor. Also had the sweet cheese corn and a cold noodle that forgot to take photos - both are beautiful. Only the stir fried ox tongue not recommended.

Had my first dosirack two years ago very frequently. Tried it again very recently and still the same great quality and taste. Pork hock has a number of flavours with great sides and sauces. On the pricier side but the serving is huge. Would feed 3 people easily (approx. $20 per head). Definitely worth a try if you like your pork hock. One of the best imo.
I couldn’t add one star for this. Ordered the pork Hock, there’s still pig’s hair on it. It’s literally so disgusting with a dish selling 42 bucks. And the kimchi fried rice, with 600ml portion and selling 20 bucks. And plus, we also ordered two steam rice, you just keep them in your kitchen. Why don’t u just take the money. I would never order it again.
I usually order fried chicken and Kimji soup. They are very tasty. I also tried the fish roe soup , the best I can find in Melbourne. Recommended !!!

What a surprise it was, first time here expecting it to be a average day out but food was amazing one of the of best seafood pancakes I've had packed with seafood and was very nice and crispy. Chicken was great hot and crispy, perfect The service was 5/5 happy to help, with any requests we had and was friendly. Definitely would come back!
The pork belly and hock is one of their most well known dishes and it’s reputation is definitely well deserved. One of the great Korean food places that opens late as a bonus!

Before covid, here was a decent restaurant for Jokbal. so used to visit sometimes. But I would not recommend this restaurant anymore! The jokbal smells bad. Even though I'm not a picky person, I think they used old one and the portion was too small for the high price.

Haven’t dined in yet, I went for delivery of pork hock and soy pork belly combo, about $55. I called that combo for 2 people and it was big, nice presentation, delicious food, especially the pork hork was very good but there were few sesame leaf, it will much better if the combo has more. Highly recommend …

Noticed that this place had recently started opening for lunch and decided to give it a go. Good variety on the menu at reasonable prices. I had the spicy pork lunch set which was delicious. Not overly spicy but great flavour and very tender pork. Came with 2 mini dumplings and a side salad. Great lunch option.
You haven't had jokbal or bossam until you've eaten at Dosirock. The flavour options are tremendous, service is brisk, food is fresh. I had the garlic bossam and fried jokbal today. Wow! This here is no nonsense, good food at sensible prices. Pay cash, get 10% discount, then tip the staff. Go on. Do it!
Amazing Korean food, can't recommend it enough. Just about everything was perfect; the food was delicious and well-priced, the service was friendly and fast, and the whole place had a nice atmosphere. Only issue was cramped table and poor seating, but it was still the best meal I've had in Melbourne.
When you have a late lunch and it results that you aren’t hungry until 9-10pm when most restaurants close, simply head to Dosirock. Meal was really satisfying. Better kimchi soup than a lot of Korean restaurants I’ve been to. The place is cozy and very much like how it always is in Seoul.
Had the Medium Soy Pork Belly and I must say one of the best I ate in Melbourne. Had it for 2 person and we are so full, probably could feed 3 of us. The price is also not too expensive so it was perfect! Also a good place to have snacks while drinking too! Really recommend this place!!
How come I found Sichuan peppercorn, star anise and Sichuan chilli bean paste in my pork leg pot? Did I have Korean food or Chinese dishes last night. By the way, they should improve their hygiene because i rushed to the toilet after having their food.

I saw cokroach in restaurant!!! It crawled next to the table on the wall. There was so hot and Korean staff was not kindly. When i pick up port feet with chopsticks, Meat and fat wereseparated. It is bad. And noodle was agglomerated so uncomfortable to eat.
The girl is really bad behaviour! And bad attitude, disrespect elder people and customer ! !!! We love the food !!! We came often but this girl is bad customer service and ask us leave because my mom ask for a hot water! Speechless she told us she was the boss
Nice staffs! Awesome food. Visiting two times and second time experience was even better! Garlic pork hock was okay(first visit) Soy herb&spicy was great. Also my bf loved ox tongue as well. Cocktail made with soju was also great. Definitely visiting again:)
I love Jokbal(pork hock) here. I usually use delivery when I eat food there. I'm so happy to eat with soju. But the sad thing is that there are too few sesame leaf. When ordering pork hock here, too few sesame leaves are delivered regardless of size. Thanx
Love their hock and belly. I used to order take away from them years ago when I lived in CBD. Just went to dine in today and they are still good. But I miss their cheesy hock which no longer on menu. Their sesame buckwheat noodle is my favourite too.
Was recommended to try the pork hock, and it was delish! We had a serve of pork hock, soba salad, and a large soup, and it was definitely more than enough for 3 of us.

Always have good experience dine in Dosirock of pork dishes, but boneless chicken in Dosirock is worse ever, thick platter and very dry, complete different as we order typical boneless chicken like Buza chicken or even NeNe chicken much better.

Always love dining at dosirock. The pork hock is delicious. I recommend the half hock and belly. My favorite flavor is the hot hock, it's really not that spicy. Kimchi pancake is pretty good too.
Love the deep fried hock and also the garlic hock. Seem to end up here for supper too often. Pricing is good and all food I've tried so far has been great. Drink specials are bangers!!!
Tried it again very recently and still the same great quality and taste. The pork belly was really smooth and tasty. The food is slow ,if you are not in a rush it's a good stop.

Super cosy and nice restaurant to eat Jokbal (Korean pork hock). You should try if you haven't already, as the meat is really juicy and tender.
Awesome food. The pork belly was really smooth and tasty. Loved the kimchi fried rice. Would definitely recommend this place.
We take away a korean fried chicken as original and sweet spicy. But I think they fried frozen chicken, smells so bad …
It's not as good as it used to be. Mr Lee's food is closer to Korean tastes. Customer service is good and easy to access.
