Only God can give us the stars, but if I had five I would give DCC three stars because they believe in the Trinity. I would withhold two stars because of DCC’s beliefs about baptism and church membership. Have mercy on me. The DCC Baptism Primer says that « DCC doesn’t believe baptism is necessary for salvation but does believe baptism is necessary for membership. » I find these two beliefs (1) that baptism is not necessary for salvation, and (2) that baptism is necessary for membership, to be incompatible. The DCC Baptism Primer also says, « While baptism is not necessary for salvation it is necessary if we are to be obedient to Jesus’ command. » If DCC believes (1) being baptized is not necessary for salvation, and (2) being baptized is necessary to be obedient to Jesus’ command, then DCC believes that being obedient to Jesus’ command is not necessary for salvation. How can this be true? According to DCC, « When we are baptized, we are baptized into God’s family, the local church. » If DCC believes (1) being baptized is not necessary for salvation, and (2) being baptized is necessary to be in God’s family, then DCC believes that being in God’s family is not necessary for salvation. How can this be true? It is clear DCC loves the Bible and that is why I am drawn to them, but I disagree with their biblical interpretation of baptism and church membership. I find the following verses most encouraging and uplifting in regards to this sensitive matter. “This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh." The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever." Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:50-59‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, "Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it."” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭18:15-17‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬ “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬ “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.” ‭‭John‬ ‭5:39-40‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Personally i feel like church is all about connection with God and having sisters and brothers for support. May be because this chruch is too large, they are too busy focusing on worship and teachings with no connection between people like we used to have in traditional church. Even if pastor dead they might say our pastor dead we got replacement or write a note to pastor's family, thats it. No concern about any one, no time for connection. After months of going to church i know names of some leaders but no friends and no one to share anything for real. I dont think if i will be in hospital no one would know and no one would visit. Its like a corporate company, works with titles(ceo, cfo like pastors titles) and collegues(staff) and employees(members). Come and worship is work but no real brotherly connection between families, not even like a collegue at work place. Church means love , brothers and sisters in Jesus means its more than biological bonding... totally you would miss this in this church, one flesh is not right. May be every chruch almost same these days, but hopefully they would look towards improving caring for each other than ignoring members. Why there is difference between church member and non church members? Teachings and worships are important but Action matters. So far there are thousands of sermons, what is the gain out of it with no action?? Real love matters. Big church is good but why cant people encourage each other in big church?? I dont think any church member know more than 10 people in this church. If you lok at small church they know at least half of the church people. Overall this one is too corporate. No God and Gods love, too artificial, words but no actions. It reminds me of Paul encounter with a church Acts 17:23 except here this church talking about known God with no love for each other, not following God's message but preaching. Reaching too many people is the gospel, thats not ends there. May be time to focus on real love and standing for members. I dont think church needs new members, start focus on existed members. Making 700 church members means nothing when any church member doesnt know any one at the church. Enocurage church members to have reliable friends and feel secured and got each others back in trouble. Words always not enough, sometime needs to show action. How many pregnents are suffering that they dont have church backup in tough times? Women groups? Youth groups? Members New to seattle, how they are settling in seattle? University students problems? There are lot of love church can show, buildings are important but before that it would be little nice to show some love if it is God's church. There are other churches for buildings and wealth focused like church of scientology and others. I still believe this church is better than others , if not supposed to be based on what it believes. Church member should be more comfortable to share his or her life with fellow member than work collegue. Hope may agod lead you! Literally felt no God or his work in church. Its all about knowing who is God, there it ends. May God show His way to elders. Elders might nee to read gospels about how Jesus treated the people came to him. Please work towards that model than corporate models and wealth for the church. There is difference between Peter and Jude, check on which side elders of this church? James 3:1

First of all, I'd like to give a huge thank you to the main Pastor and to Kyle. I came to this church when I was in need of urgent help and they did not refuse. They offered to help me right away, treated me like family and went above and beyond for someone they didn't know.... If you're looking for a church that has the love of Christ in them, this is it no questions asked! Thank you so much to the Pastor & Kyle, may the Lord continue to use you and bless you mightily :)!

Great preaching from the team here, encouraging as well as convicting without condemning. I live abroad in an environment that doesn't have any churches with great teaching, so I've been listening to Adam's sermons on podcasts for the past 3yrs, which has brought me much encouragement and light. Thank you DCC!!!

  • Shane Campbell

Phenomenal expository preaching and thoughtful worship and prayer. The pastor preached through the entire chapter of Joshua 2 and didn’t stray from the text for extended analogies but kept feeding the congregation with the meat of the text. Would highly recommend

I really enjoy the music and the sermons at DCC. My husband and I have attended several times with our daughter, who is a member. The pastors have consistently solid sermons and are very genuine. I'm grateful for the ministry they provide to their congregation!

Jennifer (wife) and I are 48 and 54. We live in Moses Lake; but have reason to visit Seattle several times per year. This is an easy church to visit and try out. This church offers a comfortingly wide age and relationship-status spectrum

  • Timothy Berman

The messages are great and relevant. However, the handful of times I have attended, I have felt ignored, and with many people mulling around, none of them appeared to be friendly, even when I attempted to introduce myself.

  • Jeffrey Dunaway

Today was my first day. Unlike other churches, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the people greeting me. It felt natural and organic, and real. Looking forward to going back next week. Maybe I found me a new church.

So great to be able to visit with a church family that's focused on truth more than popularity and "sharing out' more than "showing off."
